Hotaru Kuchiki had found herself in a forest outside of an enormous building. Behind the building was a fairly large mountain. It seemed that the location she had received was correct. She just hoped that she would be able to find what she was looking for in that prison. This all started for her a few hours ago. She had gotten word on a mission that involved going to a prison that she immediately volunteered for. Shinigami in her squad started to notice that she was volunteering for every mission that involved going into the human world that was labeled hard.
They should've also noticed that she would start doing back to back missions, only giving out reports and moving on to either the next mission or to whatever else she was doing. She had grown a little distant from her squad, but she felt that it needed to be done. She needed to put all of her strength and energy into this, because she wasn't going to get many chances to find Asmoskon. She marched off with a purpose, only hearing where they were supposed to meet in a forest and that she had a good idea she would be getting back up.
She arrived and saw the prison. It was a lot bigger than she thought it to be. But, she knew that there were prisoners of varying races in there. She was technically aiming to release all of the prisoners, but there was only one person she would be looking for while she was in there freeing the other prisoners. There has really only been one person she's been looking for for the past six months. It was honestly the only person that mattered to her right here and right now. The only love of her life, Asmoskon. If he wasn't there, she wouldn't stop searching till she found him.

Jak made his way through the forest as quietly as possible. He was never much of a stealthy guy, but he knew that he could not go running head long into the enemy this time. He had heard of a Quincy prison that was keeping all sorts of races prisoner. He really didn't care much about the prisoners, but he would never pass up a chance to kill some Quincys. There was a fire in his crimson eyes that burned brighter than their color. It was the fire of hatred. Not only did a couple of Quincys attack him when he was younger, but one Quincy also nearly killed him for no reason.
That eye patch wearing Quincy shot his right through the chest when he was kneeling helpless. Jak would never forget that. He will treat all Quincy as he was treated by them. They all must die. There will be no exceptions. Jak may not know his name, but he would remember his face like it was yesterday. If he ever saw him again, he would not hesitate to kill him on the spot. Jak clenched his right fist. The fires in his arm burned brightly today which might give away his location to anyone observant enough. Jak didn't care, he just needed to get close enough.
Jak saw a figure standing near the edge of the forest. Jak ducked behind a tree looking past it to try and see who it was. He couldn't quite make out who it was if it was anyone that he knew. Jak didn't want to take chances either way. Jak started to slowly make his way closer and closer to the figure. He unwound just enough of the chain around his arm to get the chain around the neck of the figure if he or she appeared to be a Quincy.
Jak paused to take a few deep breaths and calm his beating heart. He slowly got closer and closer no doubt crushing leaves and twigs loudly despite how careful he tried to be. He was about to strike when he finally noticed the hair of the woman he was approaching. He recognized it from a Shinigami that he had met one when he was a lot more brash. He stopped his arms and straightened walking beside the Shinigami.
"Damn it Hotaru, you know I almost choked the life out of you." He said in a hushed almost dark tone. "You should be more careful." He turned his eyes from her to the large prison before them. He furrowed his brow looking from tower to tower trying to see if he could see anyone on them. With a prison that large, there must be a lot of Quincys guarding the place. The thought sent a small smile across the Nakkabakki's face. He was eager to get the fighting started.

Now than, this was surly Aevus's cup of tea. The pale faced reaper had descended into the night, his shinigami robes acting as the perfect camouflage, reflecting the very shade of those darkly lit hours. The moon shimmered gently upon the land, bringing forth a gentle glimmer of light to the world. Subtly sublime, a fortress of steel stood on the outer edges of this place. Two eyes of icy blue fell over that starlit horizon. the fortress was like that of a beacon, he was drawn to it. he had arrived shortly after Hotaru, the third seat of squad 11. He recognized her at first glance by the purple strands of her hair. As he silently placed himself a short distance from her, he would notice that look in her hazel eyes. That focused look, he knew it all to well. He would watch, not making a peep as the sound of broken twigs brought forth the silhouette of a familiar face wrapped in chains.
"Damn it Hotaru, you know I almost choked the life out of you."
Instinctually Aevus immediately made his move, his blade drawn and ready to descend upon but prey, held firmly in a reverse grip. He'd place the stylistic blade to the creatures neck. A cold glimmer faintly shimmered in his eyes as he glanced into the demons fiery irises."And it would have been the last move you ever made." He spoke in a hushed whisper, nonchalantly allowing his words to fall gently from his lips."You make to much noise. Demon." Aevus would not allow his blade to falter nor his eyes to leave the creature, he recognized him. This demon had saved him once before and with this realization Aevus would twirl forth his blade, sheathing it nicely behind him. His eyes slowly trailing to the fortress in the horizon but before doing so he'd give the demon a certain look as if telling him that they were now even.
It was a mighty work of craftsmanship, it seemed as if the Quincy were actually inviting their enemies to try and rescue the prisoners. Such cockiness, such utter delusional and blind idealistic views. To worship a man like a god, Aevus almost laughed at the idea. His left hand still grasped his sheathed blade, tapping his index finger on but the handle as he gazed upon that monstrous prison. "Hotaru? Aevus would mutter her name with cold subtlety. "What information do you know, before we descend into this lion pit?"

Hotaru was standing on the edge of the forest, still looking at the fortress. She had no idea who they would send to come help her, but she wanted to get to know all she could see first. She did remember hearing while she was running out of the Eleventh Division barracks that back up would be arriving for her. She honestly didn't care who they sent in with her. She was told point blank that she would be the highest ranking shinigami there, so she would take point.
She stood, making sure that her face was still analyzing the area. She was trying to figure out how she was going to go about this. Even with her poor energy sensory, if she had felt the reiatsu before, it was easier for her to sense it again. There was someone that was coming up behind her. She knew who it was and knew that if he was going to attack her, she would easily be able to put him down quickly and without harm. But before she had to do anything, Jak stopped himself.
After he spoke, another shinigami appeared, putting his zanpaktou to his throat. She turned her head to watch what was happening. It seemed that she had seen him before what seemed like a long time ago. It was while she was still happy and before Takashi betrayed Soul Society. She faintly remembered that his name was Aevus. It seemed like he had gotten stronger since they last met, as she had as well. It was interesting that he mentioned noise, since he made noise by doing what he did.
Aevus joined her and asked her if she knew any information before they began. She turned towards Aevus, looking at him sternly. She was not going to let his disrespect slide. This mission was important for her, and she wanted it to be run properly. "Before we go down and I tell you the information, let's make one thing clear. You are to address me with the proper honorific, -senpai, from now on. I will not tolerate you calling me by my first name since you don't know me well enough to do so, Aevus-chan. As for the information, all I know is that this is a Quincy prison and we need to go in and release the prisoners."
With that, she looked towards Jak. She let him slide without using honorifics with her because he was not in their organization and from what she knew about him, he never had to talk to anybody with ranking like that before. It was the only reason that she let it slide with him. There was only one person that wasn't her superior that she would let talk to her with no honorific and she hoped to find him in the prison.
"Now, since we can see the layout of the base, but not exactly how many Quincy could be stationed on the walls, we'll need to get in closer to see the actual numbers. The only numbers that I were given were that there would be a 'numerous' amount, which leaves a little too much room in the numbers. After we check out the walls, I'll figure out what we'll be doing next. Follow me." She nodded towards both of them and started to walk down towards the prison. She would either find him here or get information on his whereabouts. She knew that she wouldn't leave this prison empty-handed.

Jak felt the blade of a shinigami at his throat and he turned his head just enough to glare at the shinigami. He vaguely remembered the shinigami from a while ago, but never thought too much about him. Jak's glare darkened as the shinigami threatened him. Jak was about to say something back, when Hotaru started chewing him out for calling her by her first name. She seemed a little more...on edge than he remembered her. He shrugged and stayed silent crossing his arms in front of his chest.
Hotaru's plan for now was just to sneak around the walls seeing how many guards patrolled them. Jak's plan would have been much simpler. Put a large hole through the walls and kill anyone trying to stop them. He doubted that the two shinigami would go for that plan, so he had no real choice but to go with her orders for now. Jak noted the determination that Hotaru had in her eyes. She was here for more than freeing a few prisoners.
Jak fallowed Hotaru trying to keep as quiet as possible. He did not like sneaking about. He never had any training in this sort of thing and only fought when he felt like it, or when someone was picking one. Jak looked across the top of the walls itching to get in there and bash in some Quincy skulls. That was the only reason that he was there. All Quincys were a scourge to anything that lived. He thought back to his plan and thought that he might as well pitch it to her.
"Hey Hotaru, why don't we just punch a hole through the wall and go? Wouldn't that be far more simpler than sneaking around the damn wall?" This question did not just come from his blood lust, but also from ignorance of how to go about such a mission. Jak never had to be part of a mission or even part of a team. He usually just did whatever he wanted to do when he decided to do it. Something told him that Hotaru would have his head if he tried to pull a stunt like that here.

The use of honorifics had never been Aevus's strong suite. Personally such titles meant little to nothing to him and why should it? Aevus wasn't the type of man to blindly show respect for those he followed and especially not to his superiors. He was the student who slept through every lecture and only passed based only his combat experience alone. Yes of course he listened but that didn't mean he didn't have his own beliefs. In a sense he sort of lightly balanced himself on that scale of respect. He didn't become a shinigami to merely follow orders, he had became a shinigami to...well that was another story. Aevus would stare at the woman blankly for a time watching as she passed him by.
Aevus now would follow her, trailing silently behind his superior without releasing a single word. Working with the demon seemed odd, he didn't completely understand why he was with them. Obviously misunderstood by the spirits of the world, maybe he was a lonely one. For a brief moment Aevus felt as if he would ask the creature but no, this was not the time for such talk. They had a mission at hand and it seemed like this certainly was not gonna be an easy trial for any of them.
"Hey Hotaru, why don't we just punch a hole through the wall and go? Wouldn't that be far more simpler than sneaking around the damn wall?"
Aevus would interrupt the demon right there. "We don't want to alert the entire prison of our location demon. Discretion is our only advantage in this situation." Aevus spoke in but a whisper but he kept his words at a minimum and kept to the point. There was no telling the senses of his enemies and perhaps they had energy sensory, so all this sneaking about could have been pointless. But none the less, Aevus would remain behind his superior. He didn't want to unnerve her any more than he already had.

Well it seemed that these three weren't going to take a whole lot of time to come up with a plan, but instead try the best that thy could to reach the walls and then sneak in or fight through. Honestly there wasn't much else that they could do with the skills and abilities that each of them possessed. The only problem was that between where they were exiting the forest and the first wall of the prison was a single water tower with two Vandenreich Quincy. The tower was about thirty feet in height and only had one latter leading up to it.
All three of them would be able to easily see the tower and the two Quincy inside the room through the glass windows. Neither of the Quincy on the inside seemed to actually be doing their job they just were playing cards on a table. Nothing had ever happened at this prison so the workers had grown tired and bored and never thought anything would happen. However, now something was and the three that were planning to take the prison would need to take these two out as fast as they could without making too much noise.
They would need to be swift about it and make sure that not a lot of damage actually happen to the tower itself and that however they dealt with these two it wouldn't cause so much noise that the Quincy stationed on the wall would be alerted. That was another problem though. Inside of the room there was a control panel for the lights that cast down around the tower as way as spots few and far between in the darkness. They would need to make sure the Quincy didn't alert the entire base or else the entire prison would go into lock down and the mission would fail.

Hotaru led them to the edge of the forest and stopped everyone. She wasn't surprised when there was a tower. Vandenreich, it seemed, like to cover all of their bases, which she didn't blame them. She didn't know how many enemies they would have so it was always better to be prepared. She watched the lights under the watchtower move around the area, lighting up much of it so that the Quincies would know who was approaching them. She just needed to find out a way to get around the lights.
She heard Jak speak and Aevus respond. Aevus was right, they had to be stealthy as much as possible. She already knew from fighting against and with Jak that he was more of a run in and destroy everything type of fighter. With this, they needed to sneak into the tower, so Aevus would be her back up. Also, being from the Second Division would help out. She also assumed that there were Quincies in there as well, but she wouldn't have any idea how many. She would assume no more than ten and no less than two.
She looked back towards her companions. "Jak, I know you want to just run and destroy everything, but Aevus-chan is right. We need to sneak as much as possible to make it easier. If we alerted them now, all hell would break loose and make it insanely difficult for us. We need to take out the watchtower before we continue. Aevus-chan, you're with me trying to get in. Jak, stay here and stay out of sight. We should be back soon."
With that, she started to sneak off towards the closest trees by the watchtower, Aevus behind her. She looked it over and it seemed that there were only three lights and the way to get into the tower was left dark, which was good for them. She sat there for a minute, trying to figure out the pattern of the lights. It seemed that the pattern was pretty simple. The lights covered the areas where they were stationed and didn't really go out too far, so she knew it would be easy for her to avoid.
She didn't know how quick Aevus could go, but being from the Second Division, he shouldn't have any trouble avoiding these lights either. After watching them for a few minutes, she found her own route. "Aevus-chan, I found a route around these lights. Find your own and meet me by the stairs back there when you've made it through." She pointed towards the stairs and waited until the light was over by the right and she started running.
They were on the right side of the watch tower and she was able to get across half of the lawn before the light started to come back her way. She kicked it up, using all of her speed to barely outrun the light. By the time she made it to the ladder, she had to catch her breath for a bit. While she was doing this, she watched as Aevus was making his attempt to run through the watch tower lawn. After a few minutes, he met up with her at the stairs. She nodded her assessment. She looked up and saw that the landing was fairly large.
"Alright, I'm going to let you go up the ladder first. Be quick and quiet and wait outside the door by the wall. Then, we'll have a plan of attack." She followed Aevus up the stairs. He moved off to his right against the wall and she moved onto the left side of the door. She quickly glanced in before pressing her back up against the wall. She only saw two Quincy and they weren't even doing anything besides playing cards. This was going to be easier than she originally thought.
"There are only two Quincy in there. I'll take the farthest one and you take the one closest. I'll open the door and you head in first. We'll need to attack them at the same time. Alright, go!" She opened the door and quickly watched Aevus walk in. She used her superior speed to get to the farthest Quincy, grab him out of the chair and slit his throat. She had unsheathed her sword while waiting outside the door. She hoped that she was quick enough that the other Quincy didn't notice.
Hotaru then stood up to her full height. She knew that she would be able to defeat this Quincy if Aevus couldn't. If he couldn't and the Quincy would start to run towards the control panel she noticed in the room, she would quickly get behind the Quincy and slit his throat as well. She usually didn't immediately go to killing enemies, but this was different. She needed to do this as quickly as possible. She looked at the control panel when they were done. She didn't want to turn off the lights.
If she did, the wall guards might notice and then come looking. She wanted everything to look the same, but just with no alarms. So, she looked over the control panel and she turned off everything but the lights. She hoped that it would be enough. She looked back towards Aevus. "Alright, let's head back. Make sure to avoid the lights again. We don't want anyone to see us." She then went down the stairs and ran across the lawn to make it back to the tree line, Aevus behind her.
Once she got back to the trees, she slowly made her way back towards Jak. She still tried to be sneaky, since they were still close to the prison, but she wanted to make sure that Jak would actually recognize her this time. Once she got close to him, she started to shake some bushes and say his name. Then, she stood up and walked over to him with Aevus hopefully still on her heels. "Sorry about that Jak. We got the watchtower taken care of. Now, to see how these guards on the walls are going to be handled."
Post by Jak Halcom on Jan 11, 2015 18:25:01 GMT -5
Jak watched the two shinigami head off without him. He was pissed off being left behind. Why should the head in and do everything when he had to sit on the sidelines? He wanted to just go with his plan regardless of what the two shinigami said. All that mattered to him was that the death toll of the Quincys rise as much as possible. He didn't give a damn about the prisoners here unless a few of them were Quinces then he would have killed them.
Jak climbed a nearby tree. Not high enough to worry about getting spotted, but high enough for him to be off the ground and out of immediate sight. He left a few marks from when his right hand grabbed the bark, and when his chain knocked a few pieces off to the ground. He hoisted himself up ad crossed his arms allowing himself to try and calm down and think for a moment. He was letting his emotions rule over him, but he was keeping them bottled up long enough.
Jak thought that he could let them have the two Quincys in the tower and once he got inside he would be able to do as he pleases. Yes that was what he will do. He will comply with the Shinigami until they got inside of the prison. Then he would either try to slip away while they were distracted, or he would just walk away. He doubted that they would wast the energy in trying to stop him. Hotaru was defiantly up to something.
Jak saw the two of them start to head back Jak sat up, but stayed in the tree. He wanted to at least have a vantage position where he can easily react if he needed to. He looked down once the two shinigami approached him. He shot her a glare when she apologized for leaving him behind. "Save it, just hope that that none of the other guards find them." he said more to himself than to her, but he was sure the she would hear it.

Aevus followed ever so closely to his superior. It wasn’t all bad being behind her like this, there were some sites worth checking out (Heh). Well at least that might have been on his mind if this mission wasn’t so damn important. Lives were on the line and perhaps lives would be lost during the events of this mission. Aevus would stop that from happening if he could, oh yes he would do his best to keep that from happening. The lights from the towers illuminated the greenery beneath it, cladding forth the shadows farther as it moved about. Obviously Hotaru had spotted it too because she had stopped. With Jak here it was gonna be impossible getting past those spotlights so obviously so that he wondered why the demon had come along to begin with. It was odd that a demon was frequently aiding the Shinigami, there must have been more to this demon that met the eye.
Aevus completely agreed with her except for the use of that honorific: chan. It didn’t quite ring well in his ears but it didn’t unsettle him either. You could actually probably call the man anything and it wouldn’t bother him in the least and why should it? He knew who he was and that’s all that mattered. Aevus would nod towards the third seat, his sapphiric eyes reflecting the faintest of light on his pale face. He’d keep ever so close to her as they moved, his sandaled digging carefully into the greenery beneath him. Standing beneath the pine, Aevus too would watch and memorize the pattern of the lights. It was simplistic and easy to understand after a minute or so of watching.
"Aevus-chan, I found a route around these lights. Find your own and meet me by the stairs back there when you've made it through."
Aevus would nod once more, spotting the stairs immediately upon her pointing them out.The three lights, moved across the ground. Gliding gently, illuminating everything that it touched, all except for Hotaru of course who had already descended into the light drenched minefield. Her movements were swift, it reminded Aevus of water. Like that of a dance, her body moved across that lawn as she out ran that damned light. For Aevus himself it wasn’t as easy as it looked or so it had seemed. He was actually a bit sloppy as he kept to the shadows. Not once but twice did he almost get caught. How unlucky he would be if that were to happen. He could have ended this whole operation and got both him and Hotaru killed.
"Alright, I'm going to let you go up the ladder first. Be quick and quiet and wait outside the door by the wall. Then, we'll have a plan of attack."
He’d follow suit after her words, latching forth against the steel frame of the ladder he would quickly climb the tower. Now he’d find himself at the door. Leaning against the right side, he’d await Hotaru who obviously would take to the left side. He watched and waited patiently as she took but a glance into the room. "There are only two Quincy in there. I'll take the farthest one and you take the one closest. I'll open the door and you head in first.” Aevus would latch onto the handle of his blade with those words readying himself. “We'll need to attack them at the same time. Alright, go!" Aevus immediately moved right as she opened the door. He didn’t want to have to kill any of the men inside but he would do what he must. Attempting to drive forth his blade into the shoulder of the quincy he would move the man back into the wall potentially pinning him as he did so. He’d attempt to keep him there but obviously there’d be some retaliation from his actions. At this Aevus would than elbow him, attempting to knock him out cold. He was gonna try avoiding any deaths even his enemies and hopefully Hotaru understood that. Killing hollows was his expertise, not ending the lives of blindly devoted quinces. They were in the end human in nature, no matter if they were his enemies or not, he’d only kill them if he had too.
"Alright, let's head back. Make sure to avoid the lights again. We don't want anyone to see us."
Aevus was in fact on her heels, moving down the ladder and moving at full sprint across the shadowed greenery. It was easier this time to avoid the light, his heart was racing. He had noted that she had killed the quincy without any thought or so it had seemed. This mission, how she operated it must have meant something to her. Someone here, she must know someone. Aevus would stop just as she did, his cold gaze meeting back to the demon known as Jak.
