When the humming stopped after asking his question, the cursed swordsman narrowed his eye as he raised his guard. The woman rose to her feet, facing towards him and staring at him. She seemed shocked to see him, Garret even spotting a tear falling down alongside her cheek as she stared at him. He blinked. His confusion only grew. A smile would paint itself upon her features before she rushed over to the man. Garret didn't take any actions to hinder or stop her, having felt that there was no hostility in her actions or her features. She seemed genuinely shocked, hopeful, and pleased to see him. She stopped before him and reached out, and Garret simply watched as she placed her hand upon his chest. He looked at her strangely. He'd never seen anyone act this way towards him before. Well, that wasn't true. There had been one person but...that was different.
He was quiet as she spoke, becoming even more confused with each sentence. She claimed that Garret was here to cleanse the land? While she was incorrect about that statement, Garret decided to allow her to continue. What she was saying could possibly fill him in on where he was and what he was doing here. She continued to refer to him as her dear champion, causing the swordsman to frown a bit. The woman, named Rika, asked that he free their lands so that they may know peace. Peace from what? Garret was growing even more confused, but what he did learn was that the woman before him was the cause of his summons. How though? Garret knew not of any power that allowed one to spirit another without their consent. He'd seen warping techniques before. The Spirit of Death that had come to collect him and the child had taken him someplace far before as well. But this was different.
He was about to speak when she mentioned the magic that called him to this realm. Magic that he knew of. The Shinigami spells, Kido. This situation was becoming even more confusing. What did she mean by exiled spells? The Golden Eyed One? Felidae? What did it all mean? "You have me mistaken." Garret suddenly interjected, cutting off her question about whether or not he was alone. That single, tired, eye stared down at her. Reflected in that grey iris was the black flame that slowly burned inside him, yet the woman would see that the hatred was not directed at her. He closed his eye for a moment, collecting his words. "Forgive the harshness in my words. I am...startled by these turn of events, to say the least." Garret explained. Garret was an intimidating man to look at. The size of his body, the scars that decorated him, the lack of an eye, and the almost brigand way he dressed may paint a negative picture for how the man acted. And while Garret had a lot of anger and hatred, what most people didn't know was that he was actually rather polite. He might be grumpy and irritable, but he was certainly no fiend to his fellow man. He just didn't like being around them for obvious reasons.
"Rika, you said your name was? You...have me mistaken for something I am not." Garret said to her, his words as solid as steel itself. "You seek champions for your cause and yet you brought forth one who will only bring more chaos to...wherever this is." He didn't intend to go into detail about what he meant, but the tone that his voice carried was anything but jovial. His hardened expression, gaze, and voice all served to deliver the message of Rikas mistake in summoning Garret. "I am no champion. Death follows where I tread. Please, send me back to where I belong."
