Circumstances: Hoshi has been reactivated by the scientists of Xcution. A breakthrough given the permanent shutdown command on Hoshi and his abilities has been a department level project. After decades of studying and attempting to circumvent or otherwise deactivate this command, a breakthrough occurs, and the command is rescinded. However, it was done poorly and thus Hoshi doesn't have his personality intact. Currently he is a rampaging weapon and is set to destroy all that is around him.

Hoshi was barely aware of his own existence. The shutdown command having placed him in effectively permanent stasis but not actually killing him outright. Likely due to his surprisingly well-made construction. Still since his last rampage to escape the 12th's laboratories he'd been sleeping. Or at least that's what it felt like he'd been doing. Probably was the closest thing he could consider since it wasn't like he could access his abilities. His means to sense the world around him let alone interact with it. Or even go so far as to access any other files or data stored within him. So, in the void he remained. Barely conscious. Barely able to comprehend what was going on. And completely unaware of the reality of what was occurring nearby. In reality he had been in Xcutions HQ for some time now and was being tested on. Experimented with others attempting to destroy, delete, or otherwise nullify the shutdown command.



And they'd just succeeded. There was a break in the code. A crack where the shinigami hadn't realized given the hasty construction of it. And Xcution's finest scientists had just found it. The lab in its abundant display of wealth and technology screamed out in joy, cheers all around with each man and woman hugging one another. But the time was yet upon them, they couldn't wait now. The ability to restart and otherwise gain a possible new ally was at hand. They just needed to break this code wide open and activated the start-up sequences. The entire lab quickly got on board and while Hoshi was unable to sense the world around him, he could slowly but surely realize that something was beginning to change. Something was different. Something fundamental about himself was changing. His consciousness slowly becoming more and more aware. But unbeknownst to him it was faulty.



The team had cracked the code but were simply jumping to the first start up code they could find. Immediately intending to resurrect Hoshi from his inanimate state into his previous form. And yet they were so so far away from the correct sequence it would be laughable to Hoshi, had he been able to do anything about it. Instead, he started regaining access to his memories. He saw his final day in Squad 12 as they tried to shut him down. They tried to destroy him. Delete his presence. They tried to hide him away to never be picked up again. He'd retaliated. Violently, the world and the labs being destroyed and melted in the process. He couldn't allow them to do this to him. He'd never allow them. He'd wanted to ask questions, try to be nice about it. And yet that opportunity was never given to him. So, he would never allow them the same. They'd tried to steal away his autonomy. He'd never allow it.



And when he could finally sense the world around him, he saw it. Another lab. Bigger. Wider. Far far more spacious than the lab he'd seen before and he could slowly begin to feel the prodding and poking of their tools and instruments in his pill, effectively his soul. However, all he could see were shinigami. The actual individuals he saw were overlayed with the memories of his previous awakening. Every face was familiar. Every face was someone who wanted to kill him. Everyone. Was. An. ENEMY. Hoshi couldn't stop himself, when he was able to regain his reiatsu it immediately peaked breaking nearby sensors as he was able to start actively channeling his powers. And when he finally got his emotional range back online, all he felt was rage. Pure, unfiltered rage. And that rage could only be quenched by killing everyone present.







Within seconds after he was fully awakened, he immediately exploded out with reiatsu, intense and rapidly overheating the world around him. His pill rose off the central console that housed it and glowed bright red as more and more reiatsu emanated from it. He was housed in a glass pillar, but it quickly melted away as he created a body from his reiatsu, two 6-foot skeletal arms looking to be made of pure plasma touched the glass and melted it instantly, then came a ribcage and spinal cord to house his pill safely within. Next came legs as he fell from the console, melting away into superheated liquid metal. He landed on his ribcage but soon picked himself up and once he was standing his neck and head formed. It had horns on either side and his eyes glowed menacingly as his expression was anger. With sharpened teeth he pointed features and his horns Hoshi let out an incredibly loud roar as his form was complete. Shortly after his reiatsu finally expanded to its highest output.



Around Hoshi came a 40-foot sphere of deep dark red plasma. Anyone looking at it would realize that it was a star of some kind. Everything inside it immediately began turning red hot, then yellow, then white, and slowly but surely became blue. The labratory and materials outside it were slowly heating up as the sheer heat Hoshi was putting out was intense and was equal only to his rage. By this point the only scientists that had survived his revival were those who had been near the doors opposite of Hoshi 100 feet away and currently one of the few things around him to be not overheating just yet. And unbeknownst to him, with cameras aiming directly at him. Upon seeing the dead and currently incinerating scientists around him he let out another roar followed by a scream. "I'LL FUCKING KILL YOU ALL! YOU BASTARDS WHO THOUGHT YOU COULD CREATE ME JUST TO THROW ME AWAY! I'LL INCINERATE YOUR SOULS AND THIS LABRATORY!! DIE!! DIE!! DIE!! DIE!! DIE YOU MISERABLE FUCKS!!!"



Hoshi immediately set his sights on the double doors before him with his red star aura following him. The cameras that were previously safe immediate fried as his aura touched them. Meanwhile with Hoshi at the door he immediately ripped it open and threw the overheated chunks of metal into the walls of the hallway. Alarms began to blare out drowning the sound of scientists throughout the building as they ran away and screamed in terror. Alarms that no doubt the CEO of Xcution could hear and may even have been given a video feed letting her know just what fresh hell had been unleashed in her labratories. If she continued to watch, she'd immediately know which subterranean level he was on as the hallways had cameras as well as sensors at several points. Finding Hoshi would be easy. The real question was what to do with him.

{Mod Soul Level 4}
Here we get to the stars near the end of their lives. The giants of the universe. These stars are massive and bright as can be. Thus, the same thing occurs for the user and their AoE. The main body of the AoE, the star represented, is now 40 feet in diameter, while its extended AoE for what it heats in the world around it is 30 feet in length. As before however the heat in this extended zone while definitely intense can be ignored if one has superior OS to the user or has a 1 in Heat Tolerance. If an individual does not meet these requirements, they will suffer a first degree burn across the front of their body every 2 posts. Upon entering the Star AoE this requirement increases to a 2 in Heat Tolerance or a 1.2x the user’s OS to ignore. If these are not met the individual will suffer a first degree burn across their entire body. However, if they have a 1 in Heat Tolerance or superior OS but not equal to 1.2x the user’s OS, they will only suffer burns across the front side of their body. These burns occur / grow in severity every 2 posts. Meanwhile for interacting with the core, the user needs a 3 in Heat Tolerance to interact with them or an OS of 1.3x the user’s OS to avoid being burned. For the core specifically, if the individual has 1 -1.14x they act as though they’ve got a single point in Heat Tolerance. While for anything 1.15x - 1.29x the individual acts as though they’ve got a two in Heat Tolerance. For those with a 1 in Heat Tolerance they will start with a second degree burn after coming into contact with the core twice. From there every additional point of contact increases the severity of the burn on the point of contact. If they’ve a 2 in Heat Tolerance, they will gain a first degree burn on their second interaction with the core and then every two subsequent points of contact will increase the burn's severity.


As for the other abilities of the previous level, the Solar Flares, while not cheaper, can now be stacked to 30% in addition the duration is increased to 3 posts. The superheated material can be created for 25 reiatsu while still remaining a 10-foot cube. Double if the user wants to melt or incinerate something on the spot. Meanwhile it costs nothing now to superheat a weapon or item that is being held. It also follows the interaction for coming in contact with the core. Lastly the damage dealt to items is now 75% of the user’s RS and items without a durability stat now last for 4 posts. Lastly if the user pays 75 reiatsu they can immediately sacrifice their item and melt it. Allowing for the melted substance to coat opponents. If this is done the item takes a durability strike if the thread is DP/NDE. If the thread is DE, then the item is destroyed permenantly.


While the initial description of this power has been about how things from the previous levels are changed, we now come to a point where the power at this level gains new abilities. The first is a static and passive effect, the Sun AoE, having become a giant type of star, is now incredibly bright. Bright enough that without something to dampen the light produced that an individual can either find their sight being reduced or at worst becoming completely blind. Obviously, those who are already blind will find this to be a non-issue but to those with sight this quickly becomes a problem. A 2 in Battle Focus or Focused Eye will allow an individual to see through the star AoE without any issues. This also includes those with a 200 in Senses. Those who have only one in either Battle Focus or Focused Eye will find the light hard to see through but can manage to a degree. They can make out objects that are within 10 feet of them but any further is difficult to determine. Superior OS does not aid in this, only senses or the requisite skills.


Moving from the passive light ability we now go to the active ability gained. The user can produce sunspots. These are areas on the sun that are naturally cooler due to gravitational forces that are present on that section of the star. Because of these gravitational forces things are naturally drawn to them. Thus, any ranged attacks or ranged abilities that attempt to pass into or through the AoE are now drawn to the Sunspot. The gravitational pull is equal to the user's RS and should an attack be successfully drawn to the sunspot it will be broken down. This spot lasts for up to 3 posts and costs 150 reiatsu to start and 75 reiatsu per post to maintain. This can be as large as a 5-foot cube and while within this cube the brightness as well as the heat is reduced causing all clashes to require one less in Heat Tolerance, Battle Focus, or Focused Eye. This also reduces the OS needed to prevent being burned by 20%. I.E. At this level to not be burnt in the Star AoE, the individual needs 1.2x the user’s OS. If they are inside a Sunspot, they need only equal or higher OS to ignore being burnt. Or a 1 in Heat Tolerance as opposed to a 2 normally required.


Last but not least the limbs in this form now have a durability of 1.6x the users RS. To use this form costs 300 reiatsu and lasts for 4 posts. Lastly if the user cannot pay the cost, the skeletal form fades away with only the pill remaining. The body from prior is not regained. If the user has HSR, each portion of the skeletal body can be regenerated in their following post. When regenerated in this way the body regains its full durability. This also includes durability damage done to the user's skeletal body that did not destroy the body part in question.

Already there was panic. Several people had called Shizuka within what felt like only a few minutes, and she gathered that there had been some testing done on one of the pills that was in the lab. A Mod Soul. Not being aware of the testing was going to be one of the many things she made sure her employees understood was not okay under her watch. With an exaggerated eye roll since she knew she was going to have to be involved, Shizuka got up from her desk and started to make her way downstairs.

People were running as quickly as they could to get out of the building. Even Shizuka, despite spontaneously losing her ability to sense Reiatsu, was able to sense whatever crazy amount of energy came bursting up from the labs. Whatever this thing was, it was angry. She made an effort to stop by the security office and saw the destruction in the main lab, along with a few bodies. With a gasp, she soon realized these bodies were former scientists who were unable to escape. Judging by the looks of things, everything was melting away. The being inside the labs that appeared to be causing the problems began moving, and she soon lost visual.

Alarms were roaring, people were still running, and she found it difficult to focus on anything but getting to the lab. Thankfully it wasn't much effort to fly down the stairs and get where she needed to be, especially since she was jumping around on Air Ground. It was best to use the stairs anyway since people were stupidly occupying the elevators despite Shizuka's literal constant nagging about proper fire escape procedures, and the elevators just simply took too long to descend. By the time she made it to the lab, a few scientists had escaped but the smell of everything burning was overwhelming.

Even being at the opposite end of the hallway, the Fullbringer struggled to see whatever creature this thing was coming at her and felt the heat radiating off. If it was hot enough to kill people, she didn't even want to think about letting him get closer than he already was. He was still far enough to where the heat she felt wasn't deadly, but that wasn't going to last for long. Thinking about it, he may have been able to melt other devices pretty quickly, but it would still take him time to break through earth. So in an act to buy herself some time, Shizuka prayed at the other executives wouldn't hate her too much and slammed her foot down onto the ground. The brightness was intense, so the best she could do was try to gauge where to aim her next move. Ultimately, she decided she could block him from about halfway through the hall.

Soul Dominance being used repeatedly pressed large, Shizuka-sized chunks of earth up through the ground beneath them, separating Hoshi from herself and trapping him as much as she could muster in the moment. These ten pieces of earth acted as somewhat of an enclosure, surrounding Hoshi's being inside of it. She did not press the earth above him, but made sure to block his path in the hallway and force him to stay put. The lab he was in didn't have other doors or windows since it was underground, so he would have to dig to get out. Or overheat the rock. He could do either, but this gave her an opportunity to evacuate the rest of the building. She may not have been able to capture the entire star and Hoshi, but since it was following him, she could hope to block them both for some time.

Shizuka made her way to the stairwell once more and shouted at the top of her lungs to those who remained, pleading with them to get out as quickly as possible. The few who heard her pleas began spreading the word and she hoped that would be enough to save them. She didn't know how long the rocks would hold him but these slats were several feet thick since they had been layered within the hallway. He'd have to break through them or melt through the walls and take other avenues to get around it. She just had to try to lead him elsewhere. If she could do that, she might be able to calm him down or knock him out. So her next option was bringing him to the underground arena.

This technique is an expansion of the basic racial ability of Fullbringers to manipulate Souls. Through extra training, the user of this technique can manipulate souls on a much more grand scale. This technique costs 150 Reiatsu and, as a result, can actually achieve combat useful manipulations. This technique can be used to manipulate raw elements up to the size of the user. It still cannot manipulate release weapons, and cannot manipulate the personal effects of an opponent such as clothing if there is not Reiatsu Strength Superiority.

Hoshi took grim satisfaction in seeing several shinigami scientists burning away before his eyes. The fact that their bodies rapidly shifted from healthy to dark red, to peeling, to finally ending in ash made something within him feel good. Justified even. And that was to say nothing about the technology that he was all but turning into molten slag. Everything they made, everything they touched, everything about them needed to be destroyed. And if he got out, he'd go toe to toe with the entirety of the Soul Society until he was dead, or they were dead. He wasn't going to let the shinigami at large get away with his permanent shutdown. As he walked out into the hallway, he had only two choices. Left or right. A fucking hallway deep in the bowels of the Squad 12 barracks. Of course. He was clearly underground, so he needed to find the elevator or better yet, the stairs and make his way back up.

He'd find that to be an incredibly difficult act to accomplish as when he began to pick the right hallway, he noticed something. They were a bit far off, so he had to "squint" his "eyes" to try and see what it was but found himself unable as the earth around the hallway slammed through metal, wires, and god knew what else. Within seconds Hoshi found himself blocked in and given the shudders from the ground he was on; it wasn't as simple as a single barrier of earth. There were multiple in either direction. His temper started to flare despite his mind trying to figure out how strange this was. Squad 12 didn't use "earth". They had Kido sure, but they were generally far better off using mechanical doorways. . . unless they'd figured several sheets of earth would minimize the heat he could produce. It wasn't wrong. It'd travel far slower through it than it would metal. Stepping forward to the earth before him he tried to dig his way through and found it surprisingly resilient to him. Slowly heating up but not being something, he could even punch through on his own.

He'd have to pull out another means to do such. The lab was mostly slag now, nothing was truly usable there. So, he'd have to make do with what was around him. Namely the air. With a quick flare of reiatsu he created thin reiatsu tendrils, more akin to frail roots than anything, and had them gather the already superheated air around. Initially causing a vacuum and then beginning to cycle the air upon itself and finally spark before igniting and subsequently being molded into claws that jut out from the back of his skeletal hands. These were not strictly plasma, but he figured they should do the trick as far as cutting through especially durable walls was concerned. But just to be safe he stepped back a couple paces, then ran forward and threw out his arm, blades first intent upon cutting down the wall. Like a knife through butter, it cut into two and he was able to move forward as the lower portion of the earthen wall fell to the ground with a heavy "thud". His skeletal face smiled menacingly before he let himself release another yell of rage out toward whatever he'd caught a glimpse of.

"THESE WALLS AREN'T GOING TO STOP ME!! I'LL CUT EVERY LAST ONE DOWN JUST TO REACH YOU! AND WHEN I GET THERE, YOU'LL WISH YOU HADN'T BEEN AROUND SHINIGAMI FILTH!! ASHES WILL NOT REMAIN OF YOUR BODY OR SOUL RRRRRRRAAAAAAAAGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!" Hoshi then proceeded to start cutting through wall after all, one at a time. Each wall being sliced through with two flaming claws from both his hands. Shizuka would easily be able to hear thud after thud as he made his way ever closer. By the time he'd finally felled the last rock wall and realized he could see, to his warped perception, a shinigami woman trying to lead others out he let out a loud growl. Then grabbed a slab of earth with each hand, superheated them, and immediately threw them at her and whoever she was trying to evacuate. Thankfully these were just sizeable chunks of rock but given they were superheated; meant they were basically boulders of magma being thrown at Shizuka. And while those two molten slags were coming her way Hoshi would immediately use Movement to try and close the distance between himself and her. There was no way she could resist his excessive heat. She was just a shinigami, a no name woman at that. A waste of space. She'd be ash in no time.

To his immense surprise the closer he got, the more he'd begin to realize Shizuka was functionally immune to him. The heat he generated was nothing more than a stuffy room for her. Burns wouldn't form and in fact the only thing she'd really suffer from would be blindness if she was looking at him given how bright his form had become. If he wanted to harm her in any capacity, he'd have to pummel her or use the environment to harm her. But no amount of heat or plasma that he could generate would harm her inherently. And that would only drive him further up a wall. He'd scream out in fury once he recognized this while his mind rapidly tried to determine what to do. He wasn't out of options but to shift so soon? It wasn't preferable. He needed to wait for that. Figure out if this was a fluke and she could withstand his solar aura or if she could touch him without qualm. If it was the latter, he'd have to change strategies very quickly. And that was nothing to say on how quickly Shizuka also realized how ineffective he was compared to her. Whatever the case, the next move would be critical for both. And Hoshi was intent on making sure he got close enough to her so he could do something to her. Anything that might have a chance at killing her.

Technique Type: Kigen Tech

Technique Element: Fire/Air

Technique Description and Effects: This technique utilizes the manipulation of air in order to create an offensive attack for the mod soul to use. By extending their roots into the air outside of their body, they can rapidly compress and twist the air in a confined space, creating a large amount of friction.
At base, this technique creates blades of heated air which can be used for combat, though the uses for this technique are quite diverse. Limited to the user's speed for blade movement.

At learned, this ability allows the user to create heated air currents in the shape of a blade. These blades do not have a direct damaging fire to them, but instead cause damage by sheer heat, causing objects that come in contact with the 'blades' to melt, burn, ect. Rather than blades, these areas can be considered zones of heat, and are much less visible than the version at proficient and mastered.
At Proficient and Mastered, this technique can be used to ignite the air from the friction, creating blades of fire which can burn and even cut through objects i addition to simple heating. The Learned version of this technique is still useable at higher levels.

At class 7 this technique is fairly limited. With the ability creating small knife-sized blades up to 12 inches in length. These are generally not incredibly useful against longer range weapons but they serve their purpose. Blades can only be up to three inches in width.
At class 6 this technique can create blades up to a meter in length and up to a foot in width.
At class 5 this technique can generate blades up to 2 meters in length and up to a foot in width.
At class 4 this technique can generate blades up to 4 meters in length and up to a meter in width.
At class 3 this technique can generate blades up to 8 meters in length and up to 2 meters in width.
At class 2 this technique can generate blades up to 16 meters in length and up to 4 meters in width.
At class 1 this technique can generate blades up to 32 meters in length and up to 8 meters in width.

Technique Drawbacks (Limitations, repercussions for use, etc) Costs 100 reiatsu (+25 reiatsu per class (275 reiatsu at class 1) to generate up to four blades. Blades last 8 posts. As with any Mod Root technique, this ability causes extensions of the user's body instead of pure reiatsu, meaning that the space inside of the blades are considered a part of the mod soul's body, making them vulnerable to contact-based hazards (Example: Poisons can spread through these roots) Blades can be generated from any part of the users body.

Well, she made him angry, but at least she was giving the others some time to escape. Shizuka began backing up with every thud she heard, seeing the claws as they grew closer. It didn't take much time before molten rock was being hurled at her and Hoshi was very suddenly entirely too close. To avoid the magma, she had run around the corner at the bottom of the stairwell, but it still smacked against the wall and left some damage. She had to get him to the dungeon. It would be big enough for her to try to subdue him without worrying about destroying her entire building. If he wanted a fight, she was going to need to put him down.

With Hoshi so close, Shizuka had to shield her eyes even more to avoid the immense pain she felt just by looking at him. That was something else she needed to do. She had to figure out how to get his star power calmed down, too. But what actually caught her off-guard was the fact that, despite his close proximity, she didn't burn. The sudden realization made her smile and use Movement to get to the end of the hallway, not giving him a chance to slash at her with his massive claws. Not yet, anyway. She was going to need to corner him for her plan to work. Once she got to the dungeon, she noted that it was about the size of a football field with ceilings up to two hundred feet above where she stood. This would do nicely.

"You need to calm down!" She was pleading for the Mod Soul to stop. "You're going to destroy the only home you have!"

What an interesting thought. His home. They had found him not long ago and she gave the orders to her scientists to wake him up, seeing that his pill was not entirely dysfunctional. But for all of this to happen was too much of a surprise. They must have done something wrong, maybe startled him somehow. And how was she supposed to fix it? Knock him out again? Did he have an off switch? Could she even reach something like that? Well, she might not be able to see him since she had to block her line of vision just to have any ounce of an idea of where his physical form could be, but she had to come up with something.

He was clearly delusional which was something she happened to be familiar with. She remembered years ago being drunk on her own Inner Power and what that did to her, so knocking some sense into him was the only thing she could do. How she'd manage that, she wasn't sure, but she figured she had a few options. Using Minefield, Shizuka planted an infinite amount of traps in the arena around her. She was standing at the center, relying on the generous fifty-foot radius to help her if Hoshi got too close. As they were, she remained quite some distance away, so he wasn't actively inside this radius yet. He would have to move to get there.

"Hoshi, we are not enemies. I am not trying to kill you. You have to listen to me."

A last request, sort of. She wasn't sure if he'd listen, but she was trying to keep her distance so she could avoid those claws of his. She may not have been affected by the heat his body produced, but she didn't want to take her chances just yet - not when she wasn't sure how to defend herself. She was going to have to think strategically if she was going to beat him down, but she couldn't do anything that would exhaust herself too soon. He was a Mod Soul with a lot of anger. He had tons of energy.

Technique Description and Effects:
An advanced version of the lesser Firecracker technique, this one is actually meant to maim and kill, whereas its weaker version is meant to distract and slow. When this technique is used, the user can create a field of Reiatsu over a fifty square foot radius. Within this field, at any time, the user can detonate a section with the force of a large mine for the cost of 50 Reiatsu. An explosion does not use up an area of the minefield; the section is instantly replenished and can be detonated again.

How to use technique: Build up Reiatsu and spread it over an area, holding it in a steady wave beneath the ground before detonating it through simple focusing.

Drawback: This technique gets expensive; besides the initial cost of the technique, it also costs 50 Reiatsu per explosion, and atop that it costs an additional 100 Reiatsu per post to maintain the field. Atop that, it is tiring to maintain the field for long periods of time; after three posts, the pressure of holding it starts to wear on the user, and only gets worse after that.

Shizuka's Remaining Reiatsu: 8,100 (-400 for Minefield)

[Hoshi]

Hoshi would be frothing at the mouth if his plasma skeleton allowed it. But that didn't mean it was impossible to see how he was quite literally losing himself at the chance to rend Shizuka, the "shinigami" before him, in two. Still, she managed to get away before he got close and ended up even avoiding the molten slag he'd thrown at her. She even managed to move herself at similar speeds to Hoshi and go further into the base. Into the depths below. Hoshi was furious. He was struggling to hit her, she was avoiding him, and she was functionally immune to the heat he generated. He had a few tricks up his sleeve so it wasn't all for naught, but he had to wonder. Was this shinigami worth going after or would it be better to destroy the remainder of the base and collapse it on her? She'd be doomed if I collapsed it. . . But these shinigami would expect that. It's built into their basement designs to not allow for a complete collapse. Meaning even if I collapsed a part of it, I can't collapse everything. Not in a short amount of time. FUCK!


He growled out again, having his inhuman roars echoing throughout the stairwell and the hallways connected to it. In his anger he stomped onto the current floor and superheated it. Almost immediately the next ten feet of stairs that were above Hoshi shifted in color and rapidly melted away until they went further into the stairway down below. And just for good measure Hoshi stepped up to the edge of the already superheated stairway that remained and promptly melted another portion of the stairway but this time the wall, ensuring that the stairs above would be highly likely to collapse if someone stepped on them. He smiled, plasma teeth twisting and contorting his skull to create a malevolent appearance. "You'll never escape now bitch. Now where in the FUCK did you go?" With no such abilities to detect reiatsu and his form rapidly heating away anything he was relatively close to, he knew that finding her wasn't going to be easy. All signs and traces of her existence were rapidly being destroyed as he walked by. A frustrating side effect of his powers.


Hoshi came across a couple hallways, noting that first couple didn't seem quite right. They were long and dark at the far ends of them given he was radiating light. But there wasn't any sign of Shizuka having walked through. At least, not a sign he could put together of her having been present. Ruffled papers weren't her. Loose clothing such as lab coats weren't hers. She was wearing a shihakuso. Standard garb. Was she even part of squad 12? Likely not in this case. Unless she was a particularly strong shinigami. Then she may not be solely doing research. Perhaps she was a supervisor? There were far and few between but that spoke to her capabilities then. And seeing as she was obviously leading him somewhere that meant she had to be setting him up right? Of course, she would. She was filth. They couldn't fight him. They MADE him to be unable to fought. He was entirely too strong to do that with. So, they had to use subversive tactics. He continued down another couple floors and found himself at a simple pair of double doors.

And wouldn't you know, there she was. Standing much further into what looked like a massive arena. His reiatsu flared up, his form growing just a bit bright as he seethed at the thought. She wants me to fight in their "field research" pit? Of course, she does. It alters the environment around to her whim. It'll hamper my heat. . . . or it would normally. I'm going to need to ensure it doesn't.[/color] As he stalked his way into the arena, he heard her speak up. Asking him to calm down. Trying to appease to his emotional state, make the claim this place was a home. Hoshi started to twitch uncontrollably. She had the GALL to call this death trap a home?! After nearly KILLING him? No. NO. NO! He wouldn't fall for this. He'd make sure of it. He turned around, stomped on the ground and subsequently melted the entrance and as far as he was away, only exit to this facility. The concrete, melt, and even air itself liquify almost immediately. It turned dark red but radiated heat enough that it was starting to melt the walls around it despite not being the specifically heated area.

By the time he turned back around she was speaking again. And this time he actually lost it. This filth was lying through her teeth, and she knew it. He screamed out in pure unadulterated anger. Internally he overrode his spiritual limiters. Consequences be damned he'd kill this woman. He'd burn her to a puddle. Turn her to ash. And then superheat and melt this entire facility. As his spiritual output increase the world around him rapidly superheated and even the heatwaves that he was generating were starting to become noticeably too much for her current state. "SHUT YOUR FUCKING MOUTH!!! THIS ISN'T A HOME! THIS FACILITY WAS NEVER A HOME!! IT'S A GODDAMN WEAPON'S FACILITY AND YOU BASTARDS ARE THE ONES WHO TRIED TO KILL ME! YOU WERE SO FUCKING SCARED OF ME LOSING MY SHIT BECAUSE YOU MADE A SENTIENT WEAPON THAT WHEN IT DAWNED ON YOU TO HAVE A FUCKING MORAL COMPASS IT WAS TOO LATE. I WAS ALIVE. BREATHING. SENTIENT. AND YOU TREATED ME LIKE A MONSTER. NO, WORSE, A MACHINE. SO, I'LL SHOW YOU WHAT YOU MADE. I'LL MAKE YOU REGRET IT EVEN AFTER I'VE SENT YOU AND YOUR SEIREITEI INTO THE BURNING PITS OF HELL!! I WON'T LET YOU FUCKERS DESTROY ME!"

Hoshi immediately ran after Shizuka, blissfully unaware of her minefield set up but that was fine. He didn't consider it necessary when he was outputting as much reiatsu as possible. Especially when he trapped her in. She may have known what was coming. She had to. She'd helped in making him after all. If she didn't know then she was in for a world of hurt. He just needed a little longer before he'd detonate. Take this entire room with him and her included. She'd never survive. Doubly so with his output on maximum. He just needed to get close to her. And he'd be damned if she was able to play keep away. He had another trick up his sleeve. He just needed to wait and play his hand when she least expected it. And then he'd fucking end her. No matter how strong she was, she couldn't withstand a fucking supernova let alone his Neutron Star form. He'd irradiate her until she broke away into subatomic particles. And he'd watch as he beat the life out of her. But that wasn't at this moment. That was in the future. The near future but first thing's first, he had to get close to her. And he'd run headfirst after her, no matter where she went to make it happen. Assuming he got close he'd try to tackle her down and pin her into the ground. The less likely she could try to defend herself, the better.

Shizuka watched with increasing frustration as Hoshi melted the entrance away. It's not as if that was the only way out of here, but it was the most direct and wouldn't require additional steps that may end in her defeat. At the moment, what he was doing to that area basically just meant it was too dangerous to leave that way. A good tactic if he wanted to try to trap her, but she just needed to get him to a place where she could calm him down without costing any other lives. It was only okay when she ended someone or if they were killed because of a contract to do so. It wasn't okay to see the charred remains of an intern who was only weeks away from graduation.

When he made his way to her, she watched him approach, strange giant flame creature and all. He was clearly angry with her, as well, because the scream and subsequent rise in heat around her made her realize he had used something she was familiar with. It was annoying enough to be unable to look at him, but now she had to deal with the fact that it felt as if she would also melt any second. Still a good distance away for the moment, she began to think of other ways she could deal with him without having to risk any significant damage. No one ever told her that things like this were going to be in her job description.

The screaming coming from his end had Shizuka cringing as she tried to deflect the noise in some way. He was clearly upset about something that she didn't understand. She wasn't a Shinigami, but he saw her as one. She wasn't a threat to him, but he assumed she was. The only reason she was even engaging with him now was to avoid further casualties, but she didn't want to fight him. But if he really wanted to do things the hard way, especially now that she was away from everyone else, then they would do things the hard way. She didn't mind playing her cheap little tricks anyway.

Gravitational Pressure forced itself down against Hoshi, which would either make it incredibly difficult to move or crush him entirely if he didn't resist. A quick path of explosions detonated, starting only a few feet away from Shizuka but she made sure to be outside the first explosion's radius. Each detonation was tangential with the next in an effort to form one long line of damage to keep the distance between the two. She activated this ability with Minefield when Hoshi was within 30 feet of her, so she only caused 5 explosions. It was still enough for the moment, but she wasn't done.

Recognizing Gate, Shizuka activated her own version of the technique, as well. She breathed in and unleashed a massive amount of spiritual power. Not even Hoshi would be able to resist the intimidation from flexing her strength as a top Class Fullbringer mixed with the overwhelming feeling brought forth by Shizuka's Gate. She wasn't going to let him be the top dog here. She needed to think of ways to bring him down, but gently. Sort of. She had a trick up her sleeve but it required a bit of focus. Shizuka used Movement to stand on air ground about 50 feet above where she was, avoiding Hoshi's attempt at tackling. At least it would give her time to think.

Technique Description and Effects:
Willpower is a technique that is available to most who dwell within the human world, and has a variety of effects that make it a versatile and useful technique. This technique is one that manifests the willpower of the physical body. It essentially causes spirit and physical body to "become one" and merge their powers. There are two uses of it. The first is a non battle use, and is the main use. The main use is simply to know the technique, which slows the aging process of the body and allows the possessor to live easily as long as a Shinigami or Arrancar. This is a will-based technique, however, and thus, if will vanishes, so does its power to stop the aging, which quickly catches up. Mod Souls and Bounts have a minor version of this part at all times, which allows them to age slowly at all times; humans and Quincy learn this version at Class 1.

Willpower has three stages that are associated with it, as listed below:

[Stage One: Cog]: By giving up 100 Reiatsu, the user pumps an explosive amount of intimidating power out. Anyone of inferior class will immediately be intimidated. This does not mean they won't fight. Those who are weak enough in comparison will feel a huge, exaggerated surge of power that will probably make them surrender. This can also be used on Hollows to actually scare them away instead of having to kill them. This does NOT work on animals! It only works on "intelligent beings." This means unless it has a similar to human intelligence, this wont' work on an animal.

[Stage Two: Pulley]: This causes physical output to increase based on draining spiritual energy. It costs 400 reiatsu. When activated, it increases physical stats by 50%. However, it causes the skin to begin to blister from pumped out Reiatsu. Essentially, skin begins to burn. It's a quick burn. Within 5 posts, burning will start to become quite serious. On top of that, statistic gain is lost by the post, starting after the second post of this being active. After that time, 10% of the gain is lost every post. It can only be restored by sacrificing 150 Reiatsu per 10%.

[Stage Three: Gate]: This has no initial cost. Reiatsu strength and Spiritual pressure (but NOT Reiatsu amount) both double. From there, reiatsu output goes up, meaning that costs are also doubled for everything. On top of that, 100 reiatsu is lost per post until this is deactivated.

Drawback: See each individual stage. Atop that, when Willpower is learned, it comes with all three stages, but costs double the TTP to learn. Humans, Mod Souls, Quincy, and Bounts only.
