Deep into the forest resides a hospital. Once used to house individuals that required special treatment, is now abandoned. It's fate reflected in the burned layers of paint and building material. Churned and lifeless, all that fill the empty halls now are just the hollow winds of the chilling wind that enter the opened patch of land. Yet, something is amiss here as what is suppose to be dead now howls.

Special Conditions:

You thought it was bad before, this is where things get worse. A large number of disappearances have occurred all over Karakura Town. Families have reported their children missing, fathers, mothers, sisters, friends. It didn't matter as to who they were, as their only link to each other seem to be that of a spiritual nature. However, while many of the missing persons are in fact civilians, Doctors, Architects, and Electricians, the percentage of those who are labeled in the "others" category are to be noted. Indeed, these individuals happen to be part of other factions. Members of the Vandenreich have failed to report in. Those who were under suspicion to be Bounts and Fullbringers are never heard from again. And to make matters worse, the Shinigami have lost all contact with their own Agents, who were sent to investigate the matter. Beyond that, the missing numbers count continues to rise without any signs of ceasing. All that is known at this point is the accumulating reiatsu that is being drawn to one particular location. An abandoned Asylum.

A place that was, by all means, dead. Hollowed, isolated, and growing colder by each day that goes by. The only other other sign of life here is the lack of it. The surrounding area that are filled with thick lines of trees are dying. Investigate the matter and put a stop to it, for who knows, this may be the work of those that align themselves with the Hollow Soldiers running amok.

This thread will be moving fast. DM posts will be coming every week in order to keep the thread moving along. Participants who join should be posting within this time frame, however, lack of posting will result in IC consequences. Continued lack of posting, characters will be kicked from the thread to make room after 2 warnings. Should RL experiences prevent from posting, then do inform DM about it and will be given a pass/time extension to post. Good luck.

No one speaks of it. No one comes near it. And for that reason, no one knows about it. That is the nature of this place that was to be condemned by all means. It was meant to be that way for the better as it's original nature was to help, but instead used to damn many unfortunate souls. It has been scribed to be a place that is ill in nature. Sickening by what is withheld in it's walls. Some say it was to be a place for healing. Others referred to it as a madhouse, used primarily to keep the darkest depths of humanity hidden away. Though, it must be said, that madness attracts madness. It has become a home for the legends and the stories that create it's dark terrifying background. The background in which surround those that have come to venture into it's grounds. The roads are nonexistent. Weeded up by the trees and grass that completely overlap any possible paths for vehicles, or even planes to spot from the skies above.

Thick tree brushes keep the location concealed from the views high above. The terrain and shrouds make for a near perfect camouflage to the naked eye. Yet, it still has not prevented people from seeking the darkness that resides within. Deep within the forest resides the abandoned building. A place for hope that turned into a nightmare. It was a place where nightmares can come true. Arriving here the venturers would be greeted by the thick tree lines. High grass and bushes obscure the trees until they drew closer. Even then, the roads remained unclear. Easy to get lost when not knowing where to go, but for them, that wouldn't be the case. As they will find their own paths through the forest, it would be clear as to which direction they needed to go. All they had to do was follow the chill that came up their spines. And no, it wasn't because of the day air that became chilly. This was due to the atmosphere that the place brought upon the place. The chill didn't come from the air, it came from the place that they sought.

Deeper in they would go, only to bare witness to the dwindling life that left their surroundings. What they before did not apply here, as farther in they traveled, the more separated they were from the world in which they knew. Only despair was known here. Only anger and grief bred here.... Only the madness survived. And before they knew it, the day vanished and the darkness claimed the skies. Only an hour into their travel did the realm they knew was left behind them. Before, the birds and Crows would qaw and sing as they often would. But here, not a sound. Not a chirp was to be heard. Only the wind, and the crunching of dried, dead leaves beneath their footing. This was where they wanted to be. Where the temperature easily dropped beneath the fifties, this was where they wanted to be. Only in the darkness could they find their way to what they sought after. In this darkness resided the gates that opened between the trees; out into the open patch of land. A hill slope that ventured slightly upwards where the building resided. This was it.

Opaque, burned, isolated, and dead. Nothing here mimicked signs of life, or ever a history of such a word. Just the building with hollowed halls. The only thing tha can be found are traces of reiatsu that seem to flow a bit into the building. Strong traces to those who were spiritually aware. They led to the building. They led inside. The only question was, were the venturers too afraid too afraid to push past the veil of darkness?

His guts were screaming at him to leave this place, something foul was in the air and by that he did not mean the smell. The Adjuchas who usually enjoyed to walk through forests and rest on moss covered rocks had no such feelings of peace and comfort in the place he had happened upon, no these woods felt more like those described in the Grimm brother's dark fairy tales where someone always died. Despite that the Adjuchas was much to stubborn to stop, whatever caused him this unnerving feeling, he would find out about it as his curiosity demanded it of him. Being a hollow with no master nor code to follow he had no idea about any disappearances going on, hell he could barely make out the trail of Reiatsu.

But he knew he was on the right path, he could tell it had been a path once despite the overgrowth and young trees in the way judging from the trampled earth at his feet so whatever caused this ill feeling in him had to be at the end of it, or so he liked to think. It was kind of exciting actually and it brought out a vague memory of his childhood, a fragment really with how shattered his memories were since his hollowfication so long ago but every childhood had an experience with a dare going to a spooky place and his was no exception. If only he posessed human skin he would have had goosebumps by now, he found all of this so terribly exciting, the silence, the crunching of leaves beneath his feet, he felt like a child again albeit one with fangs and claw and unending hunger instead of rosy cheeks and snotty nose.

Finally he arrived at the gate, the rusted thing a decrepit mess as his purple eyes took to looking past it. The building he saw positively sent shivers down his spine, a proper haunted house. He almost wanted to chuckle at the prospect of eating any ghosts that dared to haunt the place but hesitation had actually begun to grip him. What was he supposed to be scared of? Valentin was the big bad wolf in this story, he was the bogeyman that hid in children's closets as it was already. In this world of spiritual entities he was of the race of genuine monsters yet this place would do to creep him out? unacceptable! he was going inside! Just now now, he... needed to observe the premises and layout for a while first, yeah!

He wouldn't want to get lost in there after all the Adjuchas told himself, completely ignoring his own ability to just phase right through walls if need be with his Ulcera. Yeah, he was just going to stick by the gate for a little while to do that and then absolutely, surely, positively go inside of there all on his lonesome.

Karakura is Under MY Protection ރ I'm my own Person now. One that will destroy any who seek to harm Karakura ☠ Moving through the rather bleak almost dying forest that while close to Karakura Town not many seemed to visit was the Substitute Shinigami of Karakura Town itself Nami Kawa. The blonde Fullbringer dressed in her usual black leather attire moved through this forest stepping from one patch of dry ground or visible root that broke the surface of the ground. She had been attempting to figure out why so many citizens of Karakura were vanishing both normal and spiritual to no avail herself. While Nami took her duty as guardian of Karakura seriously there was only so much that she could accomplish when it came to investigation due to her lack of social skills. She had known that something was wrong when a handful of the spiritual entities in Karakura Town that she had already met went missing. Everything that she had been doing to try and protect the others and find the source of the problem had been fruitless. It hadn't been until the Shinigami that was assigned to give her updates known as Connor had found her and given her the info about this asylum. Apparently there had been an advanced party of Shinigami sent that wasn't responding anymore. She had taken off immediately to investigate the asylum and if this was the source of the disappearances then she was going to stay however long it took to figure out how to save those that had gone missing and prevent any others from following them. As she moved through the forest Nami suddenly stopped and looked at the ground to see a large paw print one far to large for any potential wildlife that would be this close to Karakura. It resembled a canine she knew this much from the constant battles against animals while she had been a child, but beyond that she couldn't gather much. All this gave her was a small clue that perhaps one of the more feral spiritual species was behind the disappearances. A beast clan, hollow or even a monster escaped from Hell itself could match this paw print. She rushed onward from this point and after roughly a minute she could sense the reiatsu that she assumed had left the paw print behind for her to find. It was definitely Hollow. Nami had faced off against dozens of Hollows since becoming the substitute shinigami making it easy enough to tell the spiritual race not to mention it felt almost the same as her own reiatsu. When she finally got through the forest Nami could see the asylum a building that looked like it hadn't been touched in decades the perfect place to hide out. In front of the asylum though standing at the front gate there it was a decent sized Hollow. Nami approached the Hollow stopping about ten feet away from him. "Have you been staying here?" Nami was straight and to the point wishing to know if this Hollow had been here long enough to have captured everyone that had gone missing or if perhaps he was here to investigate the missing spiritual entities as well. It wasn't beyond the realm of reason to assume that Las Noches might not send a Hollow with intelligence to investigate. She would stare the Hollow down with her striking silver eyes and apathetic expression accompanied by what simply seemed like causal body stance. Nami knew the Hollow and herself were here at the asylum, but to anyone else in the area or approaching that could sense reiatsu it'd feel like this asylum was harboring two hollows already.

There were benefits with his situation. Working at the for front of supernatural defense and living in the belly of the underworld gave Luke some very effective means to gathering information. When he began to hear the rumors both from the clubs patrons and from incoming reports to Uzaki Enterprise he knew something was going on. People were vanishing. Missing persons wasn't a common thing in Karakura. The local police and other governing officials preferred to keep the fact that Karakura had a missing person's rate three times Japan's average out of the common man's head. Because then why would anyone live there? Aside from the ridiculous low cost of living, anyways. But rent wasn't what was important. The disappearances were.

Disappearances in Karakura weren't a new thing. It was an unfortunate risk of living in a spiritual hotspot. But the number of people vanishing was what caught Luke's attention. Rumors about it at the club. Reports at work. It was something that was worth looking into. How his sources had found out about this place was a question he needed an answer to later. Regardless, Luke knew where he was going to investigate. It didn’t make the trek through the dark woods any better though.

Brown eyes darted back and forth as he made his way between ominous trunks. At some point all of the sounds of the forest had ceased and cast the man into silence. The day had at some point ended as well and dark was soon approaching. Grumbling about bad luck, Luke reached into a small knapsack he had on the back of his shoulder and pulled out a flashlight. While he had some decent night vision capability, he didn’t want the darkness to be hiding anything. ”What do you think is going on?” Luke suddenly heard asked in his head.

There’s a good chance it’s a pack of Hollows. That’s the only thing I can think of that could take this many people. Luke answered calmly, aiming the cone of light at his feet as he stepped over a pair of roots. But, in truth, he wasn’t sure if that was the case. From the reports that he had seen at UE each of the people taken had been spiritually aware. That was not a coincidence. That was a lead. It meant that each of these abductions had been planned and each abductee had been targeted. By what or who...Luke wasn’t sure.

Finally, stepping out of the forest, Luke was introduced to his destination. Narrowing those brown eyes he stared at the overgrown and run down walls of the hospital that stood before him. He was not stupid. He did not come into this without finding out what he could about this place. This was not a place of healing. Luke could feel it in the very air and ground at his feet. The darkness within that building was like a sludge infecting and corrupting everything around it. It was like Luke was looking at a void of negativity. He could sense the reiatsu within the building. This was why his sources thought this place had something to do with it, he realized.

”Looks like the perfect place for a certain dumbpire to set up his coffin, eh eh?” A certain someone tried to joke, though he disappointingly received no reaction from the one he was trying to bother. Lowering the flashlights beam, Luke noticed a portion of the fence had been smashed down from a tree that had fallen. Approaching the opening and stepping over, Luke was immediately greeted with an simplified sensation of what he was feeling when his foot touched the soil.

A cold bead of sweat formed on the back of his neck as he crossed the fence and his mind began to run wild with assumptions. Why was there such a concentration of reiatsu here? Why did this place give off such a awful feeling? What had happened here? With a quick breath he calmed himself down, hardening his resolve by reminding himself of his mission. He was here to look for the people who had been taken. Find them and save them if he could. Put a stop to whatever evil had taken them. With his will returned he flashed the light along the outer walls and found a door.

With a frown he approached it. The doorknob had long since came off, and the door was made of metal. Not like it would be a problem. Lifting his right leg, Luke promptly slammed his foot into the door causing it to be ripped off its hinges and sent clanging into the darkness within. ”Why not scream ‘Here I am’ while you’re at it, you stupid fuck.” Springflut criticized. Luke ignored him as he reached into his bag once more and pulled out a gas mask. A building as old as this...yeah Luke wasn’t going to take the chance with dangerous molds. Putting the mask over his head, Luke stared ahead into the darkness of the asylum, unaware of the others standing at its entrance, before plunging into the unknown.

Yetsuna walked her way along the forest floor and she could feel some of the hairs on her neck starting to stand on edge, there was something ridiculously fowl hanging in the air of this place, and she didn't like it, and neither did the environment. The farther she went the more the vegetation around her seemed to be dead or dying, totally not a weird or inconspicuous phenomenon at all. Apparently at the center of it all, both literally and figuratively, was some kind of condemned asylum, at least according to some intel reports she read before she deployed. She hadn't had a full chance to read everything they had given her, but she did skim enough to know that some seriously sketchy shit went down back in the day, though that didn't explain the dead flora or the missing people.

Missing people weren't exactly a rarity in or around Karakura town, but the frequency in which people were going missing did catch squad 12's eye, prompting them to send some squad 3 scouts to investigate, though, almost predictably, they ended up disappearing as well. Another handful of scouts was sent to find out what happened to the first team, they found some information which they relayed back before they disappeared as well. At that point she took it upon herself to investigate, she didn't want to risk any more of her subordinates disappearing. Between the intel reports and some good old boots on the ground detective work all signs seemed to point to something at asylum, the only questions left were what, why, and were was everyone.

After a little more walking is finally reached the front gate of the area, a group already seemingly assembled, weird considering she hadn't requested any back-up, but as she got closer she noticed she wasn't dealing with shinigami. One of them was a beast clan, which seemed odd considering they were rarely seen outside of the wilderness, another was a human, albeit not a normal on, the final one....was a hollow? Her first thought was to try and kill the monster, but she decided against it, at least for now. The hollow was smaller than your average one so it was likely a grade of menos, which meant that it was likely going to be time consuming to kill, and time was something she didn't wanna waste at the moment.

With measured caution the dirty blonde approached the random group, getting close enough to hear the human's question towards the hollow. Before the hollow could answer she would pose her own question to all of them, "What are you all doing here?" she'd ask as she came out of the woods, her voice easily carrying a fair amount of authority. Yetsuna did not look the part of a shinigami when she made her presence known (refer to profile pic for appearance), the only things giving away she was a shinigami would be her blade, her vice captain insignia, worn on her left hip, and her reiatsu, which while restricted, still flooded out of her like a broken faucet. After taking a few steps forward to bring herself into view she'd stop a good several paces from the rest of the group, her pose wasn't hostile, but it was fairly simple to tell her guard was up, mostly due to the hollow.

There was utter silence. Unlike the four that linger at the front, Luke came in from the opposite direction. The rear of the hospital was used primarily for shipments, supply trucks that would often come and go delivering their loads for the Staff to continue their operations. Even with it abandoned, two trucks remained. Vegetation had already consumed much of their surfaces. Mold and vines trapped the remaining two trucks, staining their once whitened surface with schemes of green and brown. Much can be said for the rear gates and doors. Some resistance was there when opening, though not much as the doors showed signs of use. Not too long ago, days perhaps. Much of the rust covering layer were grounded off the knobs, including the patches of overgrown weeds that resided on the opposite side of the door. The hinges buckled just slightly as the door gave way to the Bount entering.

There were no differences when it came to the interior of the structure. A small loading bay with an elevated level that over saw the small patch of ground in which the trucks passed into. The shutter doors to the left were sealed. Tables and carts overturned and laid on their sides. The over growth of the wild was much more dense here as it took back the structure hoped to take over. Vines and grass littered the floor just as much as the moss and moist residue stained the walls. But more than that, what were more visible, what should not have been natural where the black stains that marked the floors in front of him. This wouldn't be a cause for alarm, except for one thing; there were many.

Against the corner of the farthest wall. Others reaching up towards the 20' ceiling. Then there were the five that stained the floor. One marking the single, closed doorway, another seemingly falling form the air vent's edge towards the left of the area. Three of them however, three of them appeared to be making their way towards the exit where the man stood. On the inner side of the door was the fifth, black soot stains marking the handle. Each one unmistakenly shaped as people. But there was one other fact to taken notice, the reiatsu that was felt coming from the building surrounded the man as he entered. Further along, the reiatsu became more focused, almost drawing a line on the ground towards the doorway from where the black stains seemed to have originate from. If investigated, beyond the door resided a hall, leading towards the main building. It is here that the vegetation ceased to existence, marking a separate domain as the greenery was taken over by chard remains of building materials. The last portion of the hallway was burned.

A double door resided here, also burned. There was no mistaking it, that this was where the black stains came from as each one left a slim trial of black residue, labeling from where they came from. What life was left remained behind as the putrid smell of rotting flesh, spoiled fabric, and burnt remains of the building lingered here at the door. What resided there told the story, or at least a portion. It would be the same for what the next group would find as they would soon enter the main entry way. Black stains, in which were spotted before marked the entirety of the hall from both sides. They marked the walls, the floors, each one seemingly rushing towards the door, but to no avail. A main hall, linking itself to varies other locations of the asylum. Turned to ash, the halls resembled each other, removing any individual identity that would have separated them apart. What remained was half of a floor map on the wall across from the double door, labeling the three paths that the man could take.

To the left, the path would turn a corner that would lead towards the Staff Offices, and Supplies. The path to the right led to what seemed to have been burned away. Yet, what can be made out seemed to be a completely different wing entirely. And ahead, the hall led to the main lobby where the stair cases could be found to reach the basement, and to the 2nd and 3rd floors that led to the patient quarters. Which path to take?

The party at the gate would meet unbothered. Only the wind and silence to occupy them. Though, when the time came for their advance to meet with that of the Beastclan member, only there would they discover the same sights as the Bount. Here was no different, if not worse. The double door led to the main lobby. It was here that the natural greens and other colors ceased as black and gray consumed the walls with ash and oily residue. A single large secretarial desk rested at the center of the large room. Two flights of stairs as one led up to the 2nd and 3rd story floors, and the other two beside them led to the basement floors. The place had not been utilized for years, decades even. It was here that the sights were much worse as much of the activity seemed to have been here. Like the loading areas, the lobby was littered in these humanoid stains.

Towards the far corner besides the double doors were seating areas. Patiences, visitors, other patrons would have used these when they deemed it to be necessary to sit. They too had these stains marking them. Some stains appeared as though they were sitting, others as if they were ready to fall. But there was no mistaking it, they were reaching out towards the shattered barred windows besides the double doors. For the Beastclan member, whose senses were more sensitive, would pick up on the lack of moisture in the air. Rotten odors plagued the interior of the building, but were not harmful. The walls kept everything else from leaving, containing the odor and whatever else resided in this place inside. A lone computer rested on top of the molded brown desk. As they entered, each member could tell that the reiatsu that they picked up earlier was all around them. The walls themselves carried traces of energy, as well as the stains did. Bits of reiatsu covered the sludge that dripped from the 25 foot ceiling overhead.

The only thing that actually did look remotely new were the vents. These air vents were the same that the Bount would have come to notice during his own browsing. Other than that, the only object that resided there to be new, or out of place was that of a single doll that sat on top of the stair case. Shredded, torn, withering away, and rot surrounding it. It lost any shape or characteristics that it once had. But it was simply standing there as they too had a choice to make. Whether they decided to stay together, or venture out on their own to the paths that they may take as on top of the desk had a layout of the Asylum.

The hollow busied with his exploration as he had been failed to notice the arrival of the substitute shinigami until she finally spoke. Having been on edge already Valentin vast visibly spooked, jolting back as he turned around with his hard chitinous back striking against the rusty gate with a grindy noise of metal in desperate need of oiling. Luckily Valentin hadn't thought to strike against the sneaky person in self defense so when he realized her passive nature he replied in a somewhat agitated state due to his fright "Hell no! I may be homeless but I'm not desperate! I bet it smells moldy as all hell in there!" he stated, and his mood certainly didn't improve with her rude staring although it deadened the frightful atmosphere he had been feeling.

"Now how come-" he had intended to ask why she had chosen not to attack on sight as most did but was once more interrupted, this time by another arrival who just stode by the two unconcerned. He had heard of furries before but that didn't look like no suit, but more importantly it was heading for the building before Valentin had a chance to. Having headed after her after she waved for him to join her and being less cautious as the strange group was oddly civil with him a third interloper came to make his solo self made dare a haunted house slumber party. "I came here to have fun with this little house of horrors, didn't know this place was a clubhouse for weirdos though. No offense but you are all most definitely weirdos, a normal person would either scream or try to poke holes in me and none of you did either."

Then shrugging he continued in a playful manner "Not that I don't appreciate your weirdness, I quite enjoy not being a pincushion for swords!" although with some awkwardness he noted Yetsuna's disposition towards him, it was a logical way to react to the hollow after all. Had Valentin known he was surrounded by Shinigami he would have been much less comfortable but since none of them seemed to be wearing the classical black robes attributed to them he couldn't tell, he certainly didn't know about things like vice captain insignias and at the moment assumed the two Shinigami to be Fullbringers like Marcus, he walked around with knives after all which would explain the swords the two carried.

Not keen to be oogled any further the hollow pushed on into the great decrepit hall, the rotten smell barely noticeable to him after his recent meeting with Santa Ajora having deadened his nose to lesser scents for a while. While evidence of strange things having gone on just about everywhere Valentin hadn't payed it much attention except for the dripping sludge coming from above, his primary concern was with how much he could trust the others. While part of him desired the company they might provide his instincts told him not to leave his back open to so many at once. As such the Adjuchas moved towards the stairs and began his ascent to the second level, choosing to take the staircase that didn't come with a creepy misplaced doll. "Now all you girlies have fun doing whatever you came here to do! I'll go play elsewhere so I don't get no cooties from anyone!" he jester.

The Hollow that Nami had been tracking through the forest after finding the foot prints was bigger than her, but not nearly the biggest Hollow that she had ever seen. This one was actually pretty small by comparison to some of the others. The fact that the Holllow actually moved backwards in a freighted manner was strange to Nami. Hollows were typically savage and hungry creatures that didn't allow fear to effect their actions unless they were shown that victory was impossible. Nami had done nothing, but speak though so why had it reacted to her words in such a way? The young Fullbringer didn't know if this Hollow possessed some sort of emotion that she didn't and that had been the cause or if he was simply strange. The question still remained in the back of her mind though. "Could he be more human than me?"

While the Hollow and the others that were quickly arriving to the source of the disappearances in Karakura picked up on the ill odor of the aslyum as well as the sickening spiritual aura that it gave off the blonde Fullbringer was oblivious to what they were all feeling. Perhaps that wasn't correct it wasn't like Nami could feel the evil coming from the asylum anyone that was spiritual in nature to almost any degree would be able to pick up on this vile place. The difference was simply that Nami had lived throughout the majority of her life bathed in blood of her targets. Growing up covered in blood had played a role in what many would assume to be the desensitization of Nami. She felt auras similar to this place more than once throughout her life and even though it was potent the feeling this place gave off was still nothing compared to the aura and reiatsu of that man.

The single entity that had caused Nami to experience emotion while she had been young. She had only recently started to feel the things that other humans did from the moment of birth. She had almost always been unfeeling yet that man could make even a weapon feel fear. Simply his gaze was enough that by comparison Nami would rather live in this asylum than be looked upon by that man again. Over the next few moments it seemed like a wave of spiritual entities had just washed over the area as a powerful Beast-Clan virtually pushed past this Hollow and Nami herself to walk into the asylum. The Beast was female and incredibly tall, taller than even the Hollow and she strode into the asylum as if the aura didn't effect her at all.

Nami didn't even really have time to question this Beast by the time that a Shinigami walked out from the forest in attire that was different from what she knew them all to adorn. Why she was dressed differently Nami didn't know all she did know about this female other than the obvious features gathered at first glance was that she was in fact a Shinigami. When she asked them all what they were doing here Nami made the assumption that Soul Society must have sent her to investigate the disappearances in Karakura not wishing to rely simply on her to handle the situation that had been continuing for more than a few days now. "Investigating the disappearances of spiritual entities in Karakura."

Nami simply stated the fact of the matter that pretty much all of them were here for. Nami hadn't been in Soul Society for very long . . . . well she hadn't been able to wonder Soul Society for long. She had been a prisoner in Soul Society and throughout her time there even after being appointed as a Substitute Shinigami she hadn't actually been informed about the Vice Captains of Soul Society and the badges that they all wore. So Nami despite being able to see the badge didn't know what it meant and thus didn't realize that this Shinigami with strange clothing and green hair was actually her superior in regards to rank. Nami like the rest of them though moved along inside of the asylum at this point to investigate further.

The inside of the asylum looked much different from what Nami had been expecting. It didn't look like a place of evil and ill deeds not to her. This place looked like simply a run down building that hadn't been taken care of in perhaps a few decades, but was it housing something evil? She couldn't say she felt the aura and the reiatsu like everyone else, but simply feeling that and believing that this could be the place that was playing host to something powerful enough to not only capture spiritual entities from Karakura, but also evade detection for some time she wasn't sure yet. While it hadn't always been the case when Nami found the lair of a problem the problem typically didn't waste time to try and eradicate her. That being said though just because they hadn't been attacked yet didn't disqualify this asylum.

Nami could see that this asylum was indeed large and it would take her some time to search all of it while always keeping up her guard. The fastest way to search all of it would to be to split up and cover different areas yet this wasn't a group effort. Nami still wasn't sure if this Shinigami could be trusted so she couldn't even count her as a true ally. She'd have to go about this as if she were by herself. So first thing was first as the Hollow didn't waste time going up Nami decided that perhaps the best place to look would be down in the basement. A section of a perhaps an ill building playing host to something that was capturing spiritual entities. The basement seemed like a safe bet and if it wasn't there than Nami would just search up until she had checked everything. So the Fullbringer took off walking away from the others without a word.

Brown eyes narrowed themselves as their gaze reached the black stains that littered the floors. Focusing the cone of light upon them, Luke’s mind began to wander as he thought over just what they could have been. They almost looked like burns in wood. Inspecting the pair closest to the doorway he realized that these stains had a shape rather similar to a persons. ”Did someone barbecue a little too hard?” Jager asked, jokingly, but unknowingly gave Luke a thought. Where these burns? Or where they something else? As he shifted the cone of light across the room he realized that there were many more all over the place. What the hell happened here... he wondered to himself.

Aside from the odd stains, the room had been practically overrun with vegetation. The nature outside the walls and found their way in and sought to claim the interior as their own. In due time Luke was sure this building would be indistinguishable from the surrounding forest. But that pretty much changed once Luke crossed those double doors. The vegetation ceased being a thing, as if a invisible wall kept it from growing further into the hospital. While this was certainly confusing, Luke didn’t focus on it. The concentration of the hospitals reiatsu was what caught his attention. The focus seemed all around him at this point. Just what the hell was going on in this place. ”Look.” Luke suddenly heard Windstarke say, directing his attention to the wall.

”Is that a map?” Yeah. It seemed like it. Approaching the wall, Luke read over what the map had to say about the hallways. Left was the Staff Offices? Looking in that direction, he aimed his light down the hall to get a better look. Looking down the right hall, he noticed how burned it seemed to be. Didn’t matter, Luke knew where he wanted to go first. He stepped forward and began to travel down the left hall, towards the Staff Offices. ”Why there?” Springflut decided to ask, originally certain Luke would either head upstairs or downstairs. ”Oooobviously he’s looking to pick up some crazie cuties numbers. Gosh don’t you ever think Mr. Puddle.” Jager snickered, and before Springflut could snap back Luke cut them both off from his own conscious.

”You’re hoping to find some answers, aren’t you?” Windstarke, the one not fighting, asked. I want to see what I can find. Maybe if I message Uzaki’s anything I find they can dig up some info on this place. Luke replied, casting his light along the floor and walls to make sure he wasn’t going to trip on anything. His breathing was loud to him in that mask. He kept his senses sharp. His reflexes honed. If anything suddenly jumped out at him he was ready to act. Yet he was having trouble sensing anything. All the reiatsu around him made it hard to sense anything specific. It was all white noise. He couldn’t pick anything out. Hmph. Approaching the corner, Luke rounded it and continued on towards the Staff Offices.

Both the Hollow and the human responded to her question without missing a beat, though the hollow's left much to be desired in the fact he didn't really seem to answer her question, regardless of that fact, however, she didn't have time to play 20 questions with a monster with a rather surprising sense of humor. Addressing the hollow first she'd look at it with a rather serious expression, "You seem oddly intelligent for a hollow and the fact you haven't tried to attack anyone here so far is showing some form of self-control, so I'll make you a 'deal'," she said, "I've got bigger problems then you to worry about right now, so as long as you don't attempt to hurt or eat anyone I won't turn you into a pincushion, at least for right now, understand?" 

Yetsuna didn't exactly like the fact she was having to give a hollow the benefit of the doubt in terms of trust, even the slight amount she as giving it, but considering she had two squads of shinigami missing from her section she was willing to push past that to find them. The hollow didn't see to be an immediate threat, and so long as that remained the case, her task to find her soldiers would remain her main objective, but her threat also stood firm, if the hollow tried to hurt anyone, especially her missing personnel, she'd wouldn't hesitate to kill it, regardless of how long it would take her. After issuing her deal/threat, a rather surprisingly line was heard from the clansmen, which immediately made her more cautious of the animal and its motives. "Why do you care about keeping a hollow safe?" she'd ask the beast incredulously, noting that it also failed to answer her original question.

Regardless of the animal's answer she'd finally address the human, she gave a direct answer, but it was fairly blankly stated, almost robotic considering the seeming lack of inflection in her voice. As she was about to ask why the was looking into the disappearances she felt an odd ping of reiatsu coming off the girl, faint, but noticeable enough once she got close enough, she felt the badge on the girl's person. She had heard about substitute shinigami, but had actually yet to meet one, they were exceedingly rare, namely because Gotei trust didn't extend very far outside of its own ranks, for good reason. Having sensed the badge her question would shift as well as her tone, "You a sub shinigami?" she'd ask the girl her tone was friendly unlike when she was dealing with the other two, "What's your name? I'm Yetsuna, division 3 vice captain." 

After the meet and greet between everyone was done they all began to head inside.  Overall the interior was what she expected, and yet at the same time wasn't, she expected the place to be run down, but was expecting more blood and/or bodies to be in the area, though after a moment of looking she had a theory about why there weren't bodies. Black marks were all around the area, vaguely in the shape of humans running, her initial thought was perhaps some kind of fire user? she'd advance on a nearby stain to get a better look, brushing a few fingers over it to see what, if anything, would come up. After her quick investigation she would move on and follow that hollow that was walking towards the stairs, "You're not going off on your own," she'd say flatly. She didn't wanna risk it finding missing people before the rest of them and deciding that it was time for a snack; so far the hollow had shown restraint, but she still didn't trust its nature.

As she began walking up the blade on her back began to turn into dark liquid metal before beginning to crawl up her back and down her arms forming her release. No idea what she was walking into, so might as well be prepared.

Nothing would have seemed to have changed in the perspective of the Hollow and Vice Captain. The halls were just as filthy as the main lobby itself. The secondary floor separated into three different routes, each one led to a elevated bridge that led towards the call centers before leading toward the patient rooms. Glass walls decorated the sides of the halls, allowing one to peer to the other bridges across from them. If peering through, beneath them resided a garden. A large sunroof over looking the entire 50x50 foot room. A large tree marked the center of the man made landscape, but just like the grass and flowers that surrounded it, it withered away a long time ago. Beyond resided doors towards the rear and to the front. Over head of them, only a few letters could be made out. *T- -o-by*.

Past the bridges resided the call center, and the patient rooms. Each room were made to be ruined. Ten rooms down each path, each segment would connect to the next ten, linking each segment together for a total of thirty rooms. Nine aligned the corridors with the tenth at the ends. Some rooms retained bits of what remained behind. Beds overturned, desks broken into pieces, new paper articles and drawings soiled in some unknown wet substance while others were torn to shreds. It was here that the black stains were seen as well. Like the halls that were investigated before, before the scattered sheets that laid siege of each segment's call centers, these stains heavily littered each individual room. And like the stair case, another Doll was seen just resting itself on the far corner of the halls. Each hall had one similar to the last.

On the floors, some stains plastered onto the walls, other remained laying on what were left of the beds seeking comfort. However, the only fact there was present in these halls were the majority of these stains appeared to be making their own way towards the stairs. Despite the lack of activity in the area, the atmosphere told the story in wanting to leave. Nothing desired to remain in this crypt. All but one fact that stood out after some investigation. A single door was barricaded with what remains of steel bed frames, shelves, and chairs. The combination of trash and waste of the old building's furniture had been deliberately stuffed into this single door frame. Why? It would have been like any other room in terms of design and layout. But it was the only thing that would stand out among from all of the others.

..................... gently wrestling from the other side of the doorway. Noise? Movement? Whatever it was it could not be felt by ordinary means. The walls were stricken by reiatsu just as the lobby was behind them. Mold and grime from the building's mysteries clung to Valentin's formulating body, as Yetsuna's physical build caused bits of the floor to cave in. The mold here was more than the usual spots that were visited before. Yet, the sounds from the other side of the door were more apparent through the vents overhead of the hallway. With the Hollow's form, he could possibly fit into and investigate. Or, assist the Shinigami and break through the trash that blocked the door. Whether or not to investigate the manner was up to them, or to push on and search more of the other areas. Though it would soon become apparent, that the stains were drawing closer........ they were drawing closer to that of Yetsuna.

Nami on the other hand decide to tour the basement level. Unlike other basements that most facilities would have, this was more extravagant. Unlike the others, the basement level here was designed to house more facilities. Down the stairs led to a corridor. Not what Yetsuna and Valentin found in their own investigation, what Nami would come to find were a few offices that housed a few laboratory equipment, panels that helped operate heavy machinery. But the thing about it was, none of the computers found here were linked to the equipment located around the woman. They were to be used for equipment else where. The two offices that resided on both sides of the hall were all that was there in the hall aside from the double-doors at the end of the hall. It was here that, if investigated, will lead the Representative Shinigami into the area in which the Vice Captain and the Hollow passed over head. The Garden section.

What the pair were not able to see in their perspective, Nami could. Decorated brick paths that led through the grassy plane towards the forty foot tree. The ceiling was larger than that of the lobby's, an estimated total of sixty, if not sixty-five feet in height. This was probably the largest section of the building. But why so large for an Asylum? Why a garden in a place such as this? Nami's eyes could see just how dead the entire room was. Nothing remained alive here. The leaves on the tree had all but been long gone. What remained were that of the skeleton arms, and rotting bark. The grass dried and long passed as the lack of water and chilling air caused the plane to die. All manner of life here faded away, except for a single light. A blinking light located at the base of the tree. Not just a mere light, but that of seemed to be a small control box. Only four feet tall, the console itself was the only object in the entire area that seemed to be brimming with life.

Humming softly, the light illuminated a bar designated "Power." The small meter was only half filled, with only enough power to keep the console operational. But if that was the case, then possibly it was meant to do something more? All it needed was more electrical energy. If so, if that energy was brought back then could the console do more? There was that option to see what it could do, but if so, then there would be more to it. A key; a key lock was positioned beside it. Both a key and power were needed to get the console working again. Should Nami look into the matter, would it help to bring them closer to her goal, or would it cause harm? Either way, from behind the tree, signs that could not be ignored that there was some sort of struggle. Dried blood. Blood that led from the tree towards the back door of the garden room.

It was just as the Beastclan member would believe it to be. It wasn't called the Obserivation and medical for a reason. Aside from the sweltered, vacant halls, the offices adjacent to the hall were empty like all the others. Signs of a struggle were apparent here. Staff desks turned over as black stains were heavily corroding in this particular wing of the Hospital. Finger nail markings lined the bottom of the hall walls with smears of dried blood. The odor here was fierce. Horrid. Burning flesh? Rotten, spoiled? Something in this area stunk. Even as the girl's nails tore away the door frames from their respected foundations, loose articles of papers, display jars, and surgical equipment scattered along the charned remains of the building's interior. There was no point in the Ajraka's tact in intimidating what wasn't there, as all the rooms were empty. From there, towards the end of the hall led to that of a pair of stairwells, each one taking a single side of the girl. Two stairs leading up, and other down, accompanied by handicap ramp leading down towards a set of secured security doors.

The stairs leading upwards led to observation decks. Large bulbous balconies that over saw a large sphere room below. This sphere room, via the ramp doors, was where much of the surgeries took place. An elevated platform held the main focus of the eyes as the bright adjustable lamp posts hung from the ceiling above. Vital Scanners and Gurney tables appeared to not have been touched for ages. Heavily stained with black body marks, the restraint harnesses that were attached to the railings of the Gurnies have all rotted away. Some if not all the materials here remained in the room to the left. Though, it was the room to the right that was suspicious. What the left room had, the right room did not. Equipment was missing. All of it. Mixture of black and red smeared from the risen plaform, down to the doors that the Beastclan member would walk through. What was different from few of the streaks that painted the floor towards her was the fact that some of it remained fresh. Newly made at that too when taking a closer look. The girl's nose would be much more sensitive than that of the other's who wandered into the Asylum.

Blood that painted the grayish-black soiled floors of the operation room. This trail led back down the hallway towards the lobby, and back to the first room. Upon closer inspection, a thin, frail line of blood went upstairs to the first observatory balcony. The smell was strong in the abandoned operations room, but here it was faint. Just a lingering odor of rotting flesh. And what you would know it, a body taking cover beneath the trash and vegetation that ran over the entirety of the far wall ahead. Four rails lined the small rounded window in the center, peeking down below. The body that hid here was that of a Shinigami. Male, age of 37, Recon Forces. This was one of the Shinigami that was sent to investigate the matter of disappearances. One that never came back. The body was malnourished. Nearly skin and bones. Puncture wounds below the ribs, not fatal, but severe enough to keep the man from moving accordingly. But most of hall, his wrists and ankles were discolored. As if they were bound by something.

With him, an object shined. A key. With much of it's description and edges wasted away, it only held one word together. "Garden."

Shit and more shit everywhere. Just heaps of papers and trash that literally littered the floor. Sheets of records, findings, documents scattered the floor entirely, what would seem to be making up the floor itself now. What the map had revealed to the man was that operations offices that Staff used to record their findings, and that of the patients. "Atarashīki bō" was the name of the hospital. "New Hope" for those who were admitted here to seek help for what ever was afflicting them. What was suppose to be a sense of refuge for many became that of a living Hell. A madhouse, says one article that the man found. Another stating illegal human research. Reviews and newsletters labeling the entire complex itself as a house meant for a death sentence penalty. Further documentations inside the remains of file cabinets carried with them the truth in statistics, and numbers for experimental drug dosages on live subjects. Each day the dosages were increased on several patients, while others were placed in "special rooms" for critical observations.

To Luke's knowledge, the facility was burned down. An inside job was to be thought of. Though only rumors from what many would speculate, in trying to hide, or remove sensitive/incriminating evidence, what was fact of reports stating that there were no survivors. None made it out of the building as it was burned to the ground. As pertaining one of the other documentations that resided beneath a charred table, an attendance sheet, all faculty were present on the day of the fire. The dozen of empty office units and nursing stations all said the same, as each station cared for at least five patients. Monitors for their computers and surveillance cameras covered in soot and a lack of power was what kept them pitch black. What remained of the roster sheets at the stations been melted by the inferno's heat, or simply decomposed over time. It was to be known that whatever transpired in the Asylum, nothing left the beyond the walls. Nothing made it outside.

Entering in and out of the halls, the black stains made it more apparent to what they were according to the records. Few seeking to take cover, while others seemingly took their chances to flee. Whatever they were it didn't matter, if they were Nurses, Doctors, or the patients themselves, their overall shape and form could not be told apart from the other. The only other area that had to be searched was the partially opened door at the end of the Faculty wing. A small stair well led towards the door, which was labeled "Maintenance." Here, just as the remains of the map would have foretold, kept the mechanics of the upper sections of the hospital.

From walky-talkies to flashlights, cleaning materials to the backup generators, much of the room was left intact. Surprisingly. Despite what had gone on throughout the hospital that much of the equipment was still safe. Beyond that, it was the fact that generator itself, that resided beside the portable backups, was warm. Really warm. The machine was hot, and in use still. Not only that, but a pair of the back ups were missing. Dust outlined the position in which they were suppose to located, moved, and recently. Upon closer inspection of the generator itself, it was running on half of it's full capacity. The console beside it, which operated the machine, could still be put to a higher output. The only question was, why was it on in the first place, and who kept it this way?
