Name: Oblivion awaits Osaka Participants: 3-6 Individuals (Any Race) Location: Osaka, Japan Difficulty Level: Medium Setting: DP Plotline: Over the last week citizens of Osaka have been disappearing one after another with no evidence suggesting anything other than the simple fact they must have left the city. It didn't seem note worthy in such a large city until yesterday when a strange reiatsu signature was felt emanating from the city. When a Shinigami arrived to the city to investigate the signature something went terribly wrong. He reported back to Soul Society with a Hell-fire butterfly that something evil was behind the disappearances. He requested back up to deal with the threat, but has since not been heard from. The situation somehow has been found out by most of the other major factions and many of them have sent their own members to investigate the situation or handle it. What will they find though and will they survive? Estimated Enemy Strength: Class 8-4 Estimated Time Until Completion: 3-4 Pages Starts: Right Now

With the returning news that a shinigami had made back to the Seireitei, it was clear what kind of decision had to made. While the muttering among the squads over who was best to go while the rest of the Gotei 13 continued it's recovery was going on, Musuhina Kesshino, one of the few remaining medics in squad 4, was devastated at the shape that the 13 squads were in and decided to set out on her own to provide medical support to whomever would investigate. By this point, she believed that she had to gain strength and experience if she was going to help the Soul Society in any way that she could, no matter the cost. From what she remembered in the report, the mysterious disappearances were centered in the city of Osaka. Dawning her shihakusho and wearing her zanpakuto at her waist, she set out for the world of the living to assist anyone that would investigate the situation.
Hikari Nisei had been assigned to escort a medic into the world of the living and also to help investigate what the evil force was that was causing the disappearances of the population of Osaka. It could be many reasons as to why the populace was going missing, but she immediately wondered if the cause was a Hollow presence. It was highly likely but not definite as her mind wandered to that thought back and forth. She remembered her encounter with the Gillian Santa Ajora and it was absolutely horrible. She feared the Hollow before that encounter and even more so after that experience. It plagued her mind and robbed her of sleep in her dreams. However, she was not as traumatized by it as she would have thought.
She came adorned with her black robes and Zanpakutou on the right side of her waist before approaching the Senkaimon before waiting at the gate for the medic Mushina. She would wait there for some time for her arrival before they would depart to Osaka Japan. It would be her first time in the world of the living other than for training, so she hoped everything would turn out alright. ‘It’s hard to think that I’m already getting back into the thick of things after just having finished my last mission. Well...the strong survive they say so I hope this mission doesn’t kill me.’ Her weapon had just finished healing after her encounter with a certain panther in the wilderness of the Seireitei. Now she was ready to continue her pursuit of strength and having her name known.
Upon seeing the medic approaching the gate, Angel would make her presence known and would bow politely in front of the woman. "Konichiwa. My name is Hikari Nisei although I prefer to be known as Angel. I am an unseated officer from Squad 7 and I shall be acting as your escort on this mission medic-san. May I ask of you your name?" It was a simple request and one not hard to answer. It might be important seeing she was going to be acting as the guard for the woman in front of her. Now, she was curious on if the medic could partially take care of herself or not...she was riding towards not in terms of combat so she would be vigilant when guarding her.

Keira was in the middle of one of her more...questionable experiments. A man was sedated on her examination table with a syringe full of a strange liquid beside him. The man was unremarkable in every way. He had no sense for anything spiritual in the slightest. The man was secured only with heavy metal restraints. The small pink haired scientist stood over him looking at him without an ounce of pity or any other emotion. She reached out a pale hand for the syringe taking it confidently. She had checked the amount of the fluid inside for a third time. She wanted to make sure that she was going to give him the exact dosage she had set. This man was not the first she experimented on she stopped counting after the last dozen.
She pushed the needle into the man's arm and pushed the fluid into his blood stream. Keira was able to use her senses, as well as her medical equipment, to monitor the effects of the drug. He would start to weakly thrash around against the restraints, but it was futile. The restraints could have held a fully conscious bear in place let alone a sedated human male. As the man's thrashing slowly came to a stop, his eyes started to open. Keira leaned in slightly a twisted smile creeping across her face. Once he was fully concious all motor activity stopped. His eyes had the one thousand yard stare. He would blink far less often than one would normally, and he was breathing.
"Haha! Finally, I got the dosage correct. And who said that the number thirteen was an unlucky number? Superstitious dumbasses." She muttered. She pulled a lever to undo the restraints. "Rise." She commanded. The man slowly sat up and pulled his legs over the side of the table. With a slight push he got himself up on his feet standing still once again. Perfect, it seemed that the serum was working perfectly. He was obeying everything so far. Still she needed to stress test the man's ability to follow more complex instructions. She opened her mouth to give him another instruction, when an alarm started to sound. "Oh son of a bitch!" she wore loudly moving to the large computer.
It seemed that her equipment had picked up some spiritual activity in Osaka. She made the mental note to upgrade her reiatsu detectors. At the moment they were only able to detect a noticeable amount of it. It gave her no information other than where it was picked up. She sighed and shrugged. She activated her flood and summoned one of her large hands made completely of reiatsu. It seemed that she was going out. She stopped with one foot on the palm of the hand before turning back to the man. She didn't want him running loose in case something wasn't right. She used her arm to grab him and quickly push him into one of the empty rooms she was preparing for storage. "Stay." She said before slamming the door.
She rushed out of her Asylum home as fast as her reiatsu arm would go. Luckily she had made several trips around the Osaka area, and knew where she could go so that she wouldn't be seen riding a reiatsu hand, if anything at all. It would take her a bit longer than she would like, but she needed to be a bit more discrete at the moment. Her simple white dress and white lab coat billowed in the wind as she raced through the country side. Her dark pink hair blew wildly in the wind. Her glowing pink eyes stared intently at the path before her. She had been running low on suitable reaserch material. Maybe the source of this disturbance will give her something to do.
Mystery! Investigation! Intrigue! Such things were the calling cards of heroes! No. Not merely heroes. They were the calling cards of Amare Mori! The young man strode into Osaka, having gotten wind of the mysterious disappearances that had recently plagued the town. Something was amiss. And Amare had recently gotten a sinking feeling in his gut. One that required him to leap to the call! For Amare Mori was many things (delusional, outdated, overly enthusiastic, absurd, possibly insane) but a coward who hid from the call to action was not one of them! Amare strode into the town of Osaka, his scarf waving in the wind, heroically. His shoulders were thrust back, his head straight and tall. A heroes' grin upon his face! "Fear not Osaka! A hero has arrived!" He declared proudly as he wandered into town.
Errr.... that is.... a hero with no idea where he was going. Amare had literally zero aptitude at investigation. He had no idea where to start. He was sort of just assuming that he'd be able to wander around the town until he noticed something unusual. And hopefully he would actually notice that which was unusual. Amare was certainly not without his positive features. He was chivalric and his attempted heroism did come from a good place. He had a kind heart, and he was willing to stand up for his beliefs. Wonderful qualities all. But he had an active imagination that could get away from him sometimes. And when Amare was daydreaming, he would be off in his own world, ignorant and blind to the going-ons around him until something happened to jerk him out of it. Which varied widely in what it could be, but generally--
As Amare strode through the streets of Osaka he was sure to pass into the dingier districts, where the scum and villainy of society were more likely to remain. Perhaps he would catch the perpetrator in the middle of his next criminal act! Save the next disappearance! Perhaps he might find someone on the street, who would be able to tell him more! Suddenly! There it was! A scream lit up the streets. He beheld others nearby avert their gaze, and keep walking. The cravens! Amare sprang into action, trained legs covering the distance between himself and the source of the scream in but a handful of mighty leaps! He spun around the alley, to see a disreputable looking man attempting to drag away a poor defenseless woman! "Halt ne'erdoer!" Amare declared, and sprang into action! A heroic fist of justice struck his foe down with a single blow, his grip loosening from his hapless victim. The woman shrieked again, and fled down the alley to escape her assailant. "Fear not! The hero of justice is here!" Amare proudly proclaimed, hand on his hip. The man drew a gun and lifted it to aim at Amare, but the young man struck his arm aside. A gunshot rang out, but the bullet harmlessly impacted the wall of the alley. Amare's fist swung back and forwards, striking his opponent again, and knocking him to the ground, the force of his blow causing his adversary to drop the gun.[/color] "Villainous cur! You will regret your transgressions! I'm taking you to justice!" Amare warned him, delivering a final blow, to render his target unconscious. The young man crossed his arms triumphantly. "No evil shall ever befall these citizens so long as I stand guard! I shall stake my life on that!"
--and then there was the time where he-- oh, hey, he stopped fantasizing. Good. Hopefully, nothing particularly important was missed during Amare's moments of fantasy, like crossing the paths of anything plot relevant or the other players in this event.

It seemed that the forces at be were sending out the troops or simply individuals that had their own motives were moving on Osaka in order to solve the problem. Some in the name in good and others in the persuit of their own goals. As the pink haired Failured moved throughout the country side of roads leading into Osaka as she began to near the massive coast city of Japan she'd come across something very odd. There was a car overturned on the side of the road with little to no actual damage done to the car itself. No one was around and nothing was inside. Well no people at least everything inside the car was disorganized and scattered about, but if she investigated she'd find with little effort small pools of dry blood on sections of the car and the pavement around it.
As for the Fullbringer that seemed to think himself Great Saiyaman he'd continue to wonder throughout Osaka for a few minutes and then while it didn't seem like anyone else had heard anything as he walked throughout a resturant section of Osaka he'd hear a short high pitch cry for help. It came from an ally inbetween two sea food resturants. There was no telling what he'd find down the ally, but going off of his hero mentality there was no doubt he'd investigate it. Once he got down to the end of the allyway he'd find nothing. There was virtually no sign of a source to what he had just heard. Just a cellphone upon the dirty ground and if he looked carefully he'd see a small amount of blood only a few inches from the phone.
Once the shinigami managed to arrived in Osaka the both of them would more than likely stick together in order to make sure that they were more effective. One of them was here to investigate and the other was here to make sure that they both stayed alive. They'd arrive on the streets of Osaka like the others and just like the others everything would seem to be fine. That is until they would hear screaming from the tunnel leading down into the Umeda subway station. Unlike the others it was obvious what was causing the screaming as dozens of humans rushed out of the tunnel and throughout the streets more than likely trying to get away from the situation and back to their homes. Whatever was going on down in the subway the Shinigami would have to investigate.

By the time that she arrived at the gate, it appeared that another Shinigami was waiting for her. She guessed that the captains had made their decision sooner than she predicted. She seemed rather nice from what she could see, especially with the greeting. "Musuhina, Musuhina Kesshino." she greeted back "Ah a fellow unseated officer huh? Look don't worry too much about me, I'm coming along to keep others alive. If anything, I'll be tagging along with you.". Once she said that, the gateway to the world of the living had opened for the two of them.
Musuhina stepped through and later appeared on a street corner in Osaka. The city looked downright massive along with beautiful. Lights were practically covering every building, leaving the stars in the night sky practically invisible. She waited for Angel to arrive on the other side with her, looking around to see if she could see anything interesting. Eventually it seemed that Shinku Ko, her zanpakuto picked up some blood nearby, gently tugging toward the source.
Once Angel arrived on the other side, she spoke up "Well so much for the whole 'tagging along with you thing'. Looks like my zanpakuto and I will be leading the way. In any case I think I managed to find something nearby." before heading towards wherever Shinku Ko was taking her. A few seconds later she also heard some screams up ahead before picking up the pace as best she could.
The unseated officer Musuhina Kesshino had greeted Angel now introducing herself. However, it seemed that she would like to put it in the opposite situation to where she would be following Angel around. “Well, please stay close to me then seeing it is my duty to protect you on this mission with my life. So keep in mind that my life is literally in your hands.” The two would begin to move out and head out of the Senkaimon to the world of the living. At this moment, two black butterflies had fluttered into the world of the living before Angel appeared. She had found herself within the city of Osaka.
Seeing she was assigned to this task, she decided to do a bit of homework and research this place a little bit. She knew it was a large place in Japan and was mostly an industry province. She wasn’t surprised by the bright flashing lights and such so much as she thought she would be, but this was one of the few times she had ever entered the human world. The sight was certainly interesting as her eyes wandered left and right before it seemed that blood was visible to her. This wasn’t good...not good at all. It seemed things were way more serious than she first thought, but then again the Shinigami did mention something "evil" was taking people. However...for what purpose? Damn the lack of information.
The screams came next and then humans rushing out from what seemed to be underground as they rushed through the streets. This wasn’t good and immediately Angel drew her Zanpakutou. She rushed ahead of Musuhina before she called out. “No. You need to stay close to me and I’ll take the initiative. I have a feeling that we are going to be meeting Hollow threats soon enough. Please just stay at my rear and alert me of any threats if you notice them. It’s not that I don’t think you can take care of yourself, but because it’s my job to protect you for the duration of this mission." Angel had then began to chant.
“Arise god of thunder. Awake mother of storms. Unleash the lighting on the sinners." She prepared her incantation as she rushed down the alleyway stairs, jumping and leaping down the last five as she held her Zanpakutou in her left hand and her kido ready to fire in the right. She made sure not to go too far ahead of her medic of course as she needed to make sure she was free of danger. She was ready to face whatever the threat might be but she assumed specifically it was going to be a Hollow or Hollows. Only time would reveal the answer as the two weakling Shinigami got involved in this mission.

The shinigam i both contained what one might see as an overwhelming enthusiasum to fulifill their duty to protect the everyday citizen of the human world and make sure that the spiritual world didn't bring about catastrophic ruin to the physical plane of existence. As they both moved towards the subway station it would become even more obvious than it already was for the both of them that whatever they were searching for was more than likely down in the subway at the moment and causing all of the people in the subway to run away in fear.
The shinigami that preferred to go by the name Angel seemed to take it upon herself to investigate the situation in the subway ahead of the other shinigami who had believed it was her duty and hadn't actually thought about what she would do the moment she got down into the subway. It didn't seem like the two of them were all that experienced with working alongside someone else, but at least they were fighting with one another or being reckless. They were both moving with caution for the most part and with the mission at hand on their minds.
Most of the humans that had been in the subway were gone now either they had all rushed onto the train that was just now departing to a different section of Osaka or they had rushed out of the tunnel already. However, Angel would immiedately be able to see the sight of what looked to be a human hunched over another one. There wasn't much to go on from what she'd be able to see, but then the human that was laying on the ground in front of the hunched over one revealed something. The ground was quickly becoming covered in blood.
“Hado#4:Byakurai.” Immediately a powerful blue bolt of electricity would fly and pierce the back of the chest through the heart of the human crouched over the one lying on the ground. Whatever that thing was, it wasn’t a human...and even if it was, murdering and eating someone was something that would send one to hell. As it pierced through it’s chest, it had also pierced the corpse of the human lying on the ground and into the stone. ‘That is an abomination. I can feel that it isn’t normal...it’s not like a normal human.’ Immediately she leaped back to the woman Musuhina.
“Medic-San. Keep your senses sharp. Also, be very careful. I don’t think my Byakurai had finished the job on whatever that creature was.” Angel had looked at the should be corpses with insane caution. She was paranoid of what was going to happen next as she’s seen some horrible things. “Get ready to defend yourself.” Angel had walked forward to the bodies as she made sure to stay out of range from being attacked. If it was safe, she would then turn to the medic. The blood on the floor would continue to flow of course across the ground and Angel stepped away from it. She didn't know if the blood was going to be something that assaults them.
“Observe the corpses please and tell me what you discover. Afterwards, we make a report to Soul Society immediately. Such behavior is incredibly abnormal and we should report it to the higher ups immediately before receiving further orders. Until then we should lie low and prepare to defend ourselves.” Angel had narrowed her eyes as she did not sheath her blade. There was still danger around them, she could feel it. ‘If there is such thing as a God out there, protect us and give us some answers.’ She didn't feel bad for killing this human body for she knew that there was something definitely wrong with it. She needed to do something and so she did. She attacked it.
Post by Musuhina Kesshino on Apr 23, 2017 3:05:12 GMT -5
As Musuhina ran towards the source of the screams, Angel had ended up running past her before telling her to stick behind her to keep the young medic safe. Musuhina nodded and acknowledged that despite Shinku Ko being drawn to whatever blood was spilled, it was best if she stuck close behind the shinigami that was geared more towards fighting than her. From there, she didn't waste any time with the stairs in the alleyway, choosing to jump over them before continuing behind the squad 7 member as best she could. The trail ended up leading them into a subway tunnel with the last few people left either leaving on one of the many trains or running away from whatever danger they faced. Shinku Ko's tugging only became stronger as they neared the source of the blood with Musuhina signaling him to stop by simply laying her hand on the hilt.
Musuhina then watched as Angel send a bolt of lightning through the chest of what appeared to be a human feasting on another. Disgusted and disturbed, she drew her zanpakuto and calmly held it at the ready in case of any other form of danger was nearby as Angel suggested. She was asked to examine what she could, but before she did anything like that she wouldn't take any chances. Musuhina would use her zanpakuto to decapitate both of the bodies to eliminate the possibility of them getting up again. Then she decided to drag the bodies away from the pooled blood before examining them closely, not hesitating to keep her guard up from any source of attack that could occur.
From a first glance, nothing made sense to her. All signs pointed to this person being a normal human being, cannibalism excluded of course. What could drive someone to do this? Then again, maybe the reason wasn't physical, but mental. While Musuhina did think that this was mostly a Hollow issue, it was clear that something much much worse was at play here.
"My guess is that this person was either mentally controlled like a puppet, had some form of impulse implanted in their mind or was some form of freakish experiment. Perhaps a combination of any of the three. In any case, this sure at Hell isn't something as simple as a Hollow problem. But I sure as hell wish it was. We should put a report together as soon as we can. No telling when something'll spring up in the meantime."
Musuhina would then step away from the bodies as well as the blood just in case, carefully positioning herself at Angel's side while keeping an eye out. So far, this whole experience started to make her feel very uneasy.

Keira had just nearly missed the over turned vehicle. She took a glance at it as she started to pass by. Overturned vehicles were of little use or interest to the scientist in most cases. They were just the result of one or more people's stupidity, which is something she cannot stand. Then it hit her. She didn't see any real damage to the car itself. Normally an overturned car would have massive amounts of dents, and scratches, maybe some broken glass if it was the result of a car accident. This one was barely touched. She backed herself up in order to get a better look at it. Maybe she will find some sort of clue as to what she was looking for in Osaka.
She scanned the underside of the car first checking for missing parts, claw marks, bite marks, any signs of reiatsu of any kind. Once she was done she would use her flood to easily flip the car back over onto its wheels. She would then continuing to scan the outside of the car with her pink eyes. Nothing seemed too out of the ordinary. The doors were unlocked thankfully and she opened it to start rummaging inside. The inside was a mess making finding anything much harder than it really needed to be. She would move any trash and junk outside of the car so that it would free up some room for her to move throughout the car without risking injuring herself.

Both of the shinigami it seemed had read over reports of been told about instances in the past that had led to zombies of various types attacking cities in the last few years. That or the bboth of them were simply into the genre and read way to many books on the subject. Angel was quick to hold up her hand and cast out the bolt of lightning that she had channeled only a few moments ago right through the back of the human that was hunched over the bloody body. The bolt went right through destroying the heart within the chest and causing the human to fall forward on top of the corpse that also was struke slightly.
Angel began to look around and keep her guard up expecting another one to appear from somewhere and attack them. While the medic took to using her medical knowledge to investigate the bodies of the recently deceased. It would only take a few moments for her to realize it simply because of her knowlegde and skill in the medic field. They had both fucked up. The medic had already taken to seperating the heads of them both from the rest of the body, but only now would she realize. Both of them were human. Angel had just killed an ordinary human who in reality had been greiving over the body of her husband. The only thing to go on would be the section of missing flesh on the left side of the man's neckthe source of his blood. What attacked him though and where it was now that was something they'd have to figure out.
As for the Failure it seemed that she was investigating the car, but didn't take the time to really notice the small sections of what seemed to be dry blood on the car and the road around where it had been. There wasn't a lot, but without a doubt something had been wounded yet it wasn't here anymore. While Keira's Energy Sensory wasn't the best she would be able to suddenly feel what felt like a reiatsu signature between her current location and Osaka as if it was moving towards the city. It was like a blip on a radar for after a moment it was suddenly gone and no matter how much she focused Keira wouldn't be able to pick it back up again. One thing was for sure though something was happening in Osaka.

After finding nothing of interest in the car, she felt something it quickly grabbed her attention, but as soon as it had appeared it vanished again. She couldn't pick it back up, but it was on her way to Osaka. Keira started to make her way out of the car. Once she had gotten out, she would start to dust herself off. The red stains on the ground caught her eye. It was blood. She scanned the ground to see if there were any other splatters of blood in the area. She wasn't sure if the thing bleeding was what caused this accident, but it was the best lead she had. She continued looking furthering her search until she was a couple yards from the car. If she found any more, she would follow the blood with a simular pattern, and if not just continue on directly to Osaka.

Oh Amare heard the scream alright. It snapped him out of his daydream created stupor. Amare raced heroically toward the sound of the scream, bolting past building after building with the athletic aptitude of an Olympic sprinter. He skidded to a stop at the first seafood restaurant. It was around here, that he had heard the sound. He saw an alley between the two. Aha! He thought. The perfect hiding place for scum and villainy! He determined, and hastened towards the alley, spinning around the bend, in his best attempt to look cool. Head tall, arms positioned confidently at his side. "Fear not! For I-- Oh." He thought as he found nothing down the alley. How strange.... the plot thickens! He deduced in his mind as he went down the alleyway, and discovered the cellphone. "Curious... it must have been the victims! They've left a clue!" Any ordinary person would have called the police. Not Amare. He reached down and picked up the phone, noticing the blood on the ground. "The knave! How dare he harm a defenseless civilian!" Amare growled, as he flipped the cell phone open and examined the inside to see if he could work anything else. His senses were sharpened and he was on high alert. Ready to react at a moment's notice should any other peculiar happenings occur.
