Arc 1 ~ Canon S-1: New Generations: Fullbringer [Hard, DE]

The assignment had just really started and right away Scarlet felt like things weren’t just out of hand, but getting away from her even faster. One moment she was just speaking to Irin and the next she heard a female scream much closer. Witnessing the sight of a girl with a hand essentially shoved into her chest. Scarlet felt her anger flood over as it boiled within her soul. Her earrings immediately glowing while flying off her ears over to her right hand as they transform into her Fullbring.

“Save as many as possible!” Scarlet screams at Irina as she prepares herself for the actions she knew she was about to unfold on these attackers. Scarlet was about to recognize what Irina said to her, but it was more like something being said from far away. Scarlet was simply too focused on the view of this woman with her nails looking like something that should be attached to a massive lizard. No, that wasn’t right, she’d fought those before. This was just like the first Hollow that had attacked her at the temple. Fingers like knives, this time though she wasn’t going to let it be such a struggle.

Irina made the quick decision to utilize the surroundings, but to Scarlet it wasn’t enough. Hitting someone like this with a park bench even if it was solid metal wasn’t going to be lethal. Based on how many screams were filling her head, the both of them had to act with absolute precision. This meant going for the kill immediately without hesitation and thus Scarlet utilized Bringer Light, the green circle of reiatsu visible beneath her feet afterwards.

Appearing behind the female Jersey Shore reject Scarlet swings her Fullbring horizontally from her eighth side to the left aiming to cut this monster in half just under her ribs. Calamity of Nature burned bright red and orange with its awakening, which meant that whatever it made contact with wouldn’t just be getting cute by a rather sharp axe, but actual lava. Flesh and bone would be burned without any sort of issue, Scarlet for the first time didn’t have any problem with the idea of burning a human looking body knowing this thing was going to keep killing others.

Alex and Blair



Though Alex was able to release his bow, Blair was the first to make a move. Using her Soul Command, she attempted to grab onto Eyeball's feet and hold in him place, possibly to give Alex a chance at making whatever shot he had. A good tactic, but not for someone with the kind of strength Eyeball had. Looking down at his feet, he lifted his legs quickly and broke through the rock that tried to encase him. Kicking some shards away as it broke, his aim was to shoot them in the direction of Alex since his power was much more obvious. Eyeball's attention towards the man was something similar to a moth and a flame. Since Alex showed some semblance of power, Eyeball wanted to attack.

He didn't have the advanced instinct and senses that other spiritual people tended to have, and perhaps that was simply due to the fact that he was a normal human until recently. Eyeball's entire personality was similar to some rabid animal, or a human who had been reverted to acting on basic urges after being instructed on what to do. As of now, he was just instructed to wreak havoc. That was enough of an order for him to move on, and it was simple. This would be no problem, then. Eyeing Alex, Eyeball slammed his hands onto the ground and created a shockwave within the earth that was so intense that it actually broke up the road. It rumbled quickly towards the pair as he tried to cause them to stumble.

His eyeball kept staring at Alex, specifically. The empty socket where it should have been dripped blood down onto the ground and Eyeball didn't even care to notice. He gurgled something incomprehensible, incapable of forming proper speech. It wasn't just his eye that became malformed. His entire face started to contort into something horrendous, like an image someone would only see in their worst nightmares. With a loud, boisterous groan, Eyeball picked up a sharp piece of the road that had broken and used Bringer Light to approach Alex at 2000 Speed. From there, he swung his arm at the side of Alex's head, his aim being slamming the sharp piece of road straight at the side of it for a proper concussion-inducing blow.

Technique Name: Bringer Light

Technique Element: None

Technique Description and Effects:
This is the stepping technique for humans. It increases their speed for a single step by 10 times for 50 Reiatsu. It leaves a column of flickering light in the place where the user previously occupied. Unlike other steps, this one can be used to build speed. If used in succession, the speed and cost go up with each additional step. The second step is a 13x increase, and costs 100 Reiatsu. The third step is a 15x increase, and costs 200 Reiatsu. From there, the cost doubles with each additional step, and the speed increase goes up by 1 time. Meaning the fourth step is 16x and 400 Reiatsu, the fifth is 17x and 800 Reiatsu, etc. Though at first the column of light is visible where the user was, once the third step is reached, the column of light is no longer there. This technique does not take up a technique slot.

How to use technique: To work, this technique manipulates the soul in whatever the user is standing on, allowing for feats such as high jumping, or the step which increases speed.

Irina and Scarlet



Irina's onslaught of attacks came in handy at first, distracting the girl from digging out the organs of her victim. Truthfully, it had looked as if she was almost curious about the woman's body who she had gored. Perhaps, before the transformation, Fingernail had been a much more curious person. Those thoughts may have followed over into her post-transformed self, making her want to cut up bodies and explore their anatomy. The flashes were too much for her to handle, though, and she quickly covered her eyes with her hands, careful to keep her extended claws out of the way. The park bench that came flying at her would prove to be not very useful, unfortunately, as it slammed against her body and almost immediately broke apart.

The growls and groans that came out of Fingernail sounded feral, as well. It was as if she were completely incapable of speech at this point, relying on nothing more than her reaction time. The downside for her was that her reaction time may not be the fastest, but she was up against equals in that regard. As the pieces of the bench broke and scattered along the ground, Fingernail's attention was drawn to Scarlet after she'd Released her Fullbring. Scarlet was quick - too quick for Fingernail to react properly or get out of the way. Having no previous exposure to these two could be detrimental, but the pseudo-Fullbringer had her tremendous strength on her side.

Scarlet was noticeable enough for Fingernail to be able to defend despite appearing behind the girl. Though she couldn't turn around, she saw the massive weapon that Scarlet wielded and used her highly durable nails to form somewhat of a shield on her right side. From there, Fingernail swung her arms out with such force that, should Scarlet still be close, her weapon would likely be knocked out of her hands and the shockwaves formed from the movement would be enough to knock her into the closest building. Fingernail was using her nails like a sword, in a way, and she made no mistake. She felt the heat from Scarlet's weapon in the moment of impact. She wasn't going to allow herself to be hit by it even if she could flex most of the damage away.

Irina’s bench didn’t make a dent in Fingernail, but Irina still considered the toss a success: now she had a better idea of what she was dealing with. Fingernail wasn’t going to go down easily, and Irina still didn’t want to get terribly close if she could avoid it. Normally, Irina would try to figure out if someone who was causing a problem could possibly be negotiated with, but as far as Irina could tell, Fingernail didn’t have any capability for reasoning. Still, she couldn’t resist trying. ”Hey,” Irina called out tentatively. ”What’s going on here? Who are you working for?” If Fingernail could respond, which Irina doubted, she’d focus on using a defensive position while trying to get more information from Fingernail. Which, again, Irina thought, was not looking likely.

While deciding on a plan to subdue Fingernail, Scarlet was flung into a building, so Irina hollered ”You good?” but wouldn’t make any moves towards her unless she received a negative response, or none at all. From what Irina had seen, Scarlet could handle herself. It was a good thing too, because Scarlet tended to jump into situations without the intense level of calculation for every situation that characterized Irina. Having had some time to get a grip on this situation, Irina was ready for more action.

Knowing that she needed something with more power than she had on her own, she summoned her Stand by calling out ”Stand beside me!” Irina’s Stand, which was mostly invisible to those without moderate energy sensory, appeared and, on Irina’s mental command, tried to restrain Fingernail into a full-Nelson to neutralize the claws. To those with energy sensory, Irina’s tidy, hoodie-clad doppelganger might look tame compared to its knife-handed opponent, but its strength and speed would help it go toe-to-toe with the pseudo-Fullbringer. By putting her Stand in not only proximity of Fingernail but in contact, Irina was closer to putting herself in physical danger than she normally preferred, but she determined that the situation seemed to call for it.

Technique Description and Effects (Explain appearance, powers, and effect):
This technique takes Energy Generate, Output, Movement, and Willpower, and renders them in the most potent way imaginable. It is, even amongst the Martial Disciplines, a terrifying technique, and one that makes all fighters stronger. This technique, when activated, reflects the user’s soul, in the most pure form. It creates a form based on this soul, and animates it. It gives the soul the will and physical power to fight. It gives the user an ally, who will Stand besides them at all points in time.

When this technique is learned, the user records how they truly see themselves, what the most true version of them is in their mind’s eye. This is given a human body, and becomes a figure that they can always dimly see out of the corner of their eye, although when the technique is not active, the figure, which will now be referred to as the Stand, is not capable of doing anything, and reacts only to the users actions, not the outside world’s.

When the user choses to do so, they may summon this Stand into the world, giving them independent action. The act of creating the Stand is one that utilizes reiatsu, but once the Stand exists, it no longer is reiatsu. Nor is it flesh and blood. It is a construct of pure Will, and can affect the world as such. Ergo, techniques that destroy reiatsu do not destroy the Stand, although suppression techniques can prevent it from existing in the first place. The Stand appears in eyesight of the user, no more than 200 feet away.

This Stand is invisible to the naked eye, as it is a manifestation of Willpower. Anyone with 50 ES can see it’s outline, and 100 ES can easily detect it’s features. Even if someone lacks the ES to detect the Stand, it is easy to observe the Stand’s effects on the outside world, as anything that it intends to interact with, anything it demonstrates the Will to push or move, is affected accordingly. So, as the Stand walks with purpose, someone would notice concrete cracking, and footprints appearing. As the Stand clashes it’s will against another person’s body, the wounds that appear will be visible.

The Stand possesses it’s own physical stats, although it doesn’t possess spiritual stats, nor does it possess sensory stats or specialty stats. It uses the User’s senses and guidance in order to know where to move and what to interact with. It possesses no reiatsu pool, but ignores cutback, as if constantly utilizing Push. Although it has no Reiatsu Strength, it cannot be affected with status conditions, although barriers and defenses of course can stop it.

The Stand’s physical stats are that of a Brave type, equal in Level to the user of the technique, as if it had 300 in both stats. Once this technique is mastered, that is raised to 400. The user, when they learn the technique, picks whether they want Strength or Speed to receive the higher boost. The Stand does not grow tired, no matter how fast it moves, or how frequently it does so. It’s attacks can be blocked, but it itself cannot be damaged. It lasts for 10 posts.

Stand's Appearance: Irina's stand appears like College Student Irina, complete with a Karakura University hoodie and jeans. She sees herself as, well, herself, as a student and someone ever learning new things.

How to use technique (How is it activated?):
When learning the technique, one must find the perfect, idealized mental image of themselves, and chose to devote their soul to either Speed or Strength. They also must know all four basic HWD techniques.

When activating this technique, the user must call out the phrase “Stand Beside Me!” and select a location to conjure their Stand. Then, by utilizing their reiatsu, and concentrating Willpower, they can render the Stand into being.

Technique Drawbacks (Limitations, repercussions for use, etc)
This technique, first of all, can only be used twice in one thread. It costs 650 reiatsu to use, a hefty amount, even by the standards of such a powerful technique. Most of the weaknesses of the technique, however, come in the form of restrictions upon the user. While the Stand cannot grow tired, the user receives half of the stamina taxation that the Stand would’ve received, preventing them from going all out. Additionally, if the Stand would be damaged, the user receives the damage instead, wounds appearing on the corresponding part of their body. This only applies to physical damage. The Stand also relies on the user to see and make decisions, and if the user is impaired, the Stand is much less effective. If the user falls unconscious or dies, the Stand instantly vanishes. At the end of the 10 posts, the User must also pay an additional 150 reiatsu to maintain contact with the Stand, if they wish to use it again later in the thread.

”Oh! Nice move.”

So she was a Fullbringer. Alexander’s hunch had been correct. The Quincy watched as the ground beneath the rampaging lunatic rose up and clamped down on his ankles like shackles. Though Alexander was feigning ignorance as some bar owner, he was well aware of what Blair was and her capabilities. Similarly, he also knew that this person that they were combating against was a Fullbringer as well. Person? No, that wasn’t quite right. While Blair wouldn’t have seen it since she was focused on using her Soul Command to bind the others feet, Alexander had a concerned look in his eyes for a split second when he realized that what they were fighting was a child. One who broke free from Blair’s bindings with the same simplicity one had when tearing toilet paper.

”A for effort at least.”

The rampaging child slammed his arms into the ground to release a wave of physical force so strong it tore apart the road. Like a comet hitting the road in some disaster movie. ”Move!” Alex would order of Blair before the Quincy vanished, using Movement to gain some distance away from the landslide. He used the base human step to move himself further back, avoiding losing his footing, just as the insane child grabbed a sharpened piece of pavement and opted to use a Step of their own to try and cover the distance between him and Alexander. A look of surprise on the older Quincy’s face for just a moment, just a second, before he smugly grinned and vanished from sight as the Fullbringers arm swung through empty space.

Alexander might not have been the most physically active member of his family friendly organization, but what couldn’t be denied was that he was sly like a fox. The man boasted an incredible reaction time when he wasn’t drunk or hungover. Alexander Alistair possessed a superhuman reaction speed of 74 milliseconds. With the Energy Sensory he possessed, he was able to detect the “spark” of reiatsu that came from the enraged Fullbringer and deduce that it was a Step Technique. After all, something physically strong enough to shatter the street as the Fullbringer did was obviously going to want to get into melee range, right? Couldn’t fool an old dog like Alex.

How Alexander vanished from sight though wasn’t that surprising. The Quincy reappeared in the air, arched at an angle only an archer would take, as his Hirenkyaku delivered him to his intended location in the air over the Fullbringer. A grin on his face as the reiatsu bowstring was pulled back, and five arrows of pure energy rested on his bow ready to fire. ”Bang.” he commented before releasing the tension on the string, firing his five arrows downwards directly targeting the Fullbringer. The impact caused five separate explosions that consumed the space in dirt and debris. Alexander kicked off from air ground, somersaulting through the air a bit and landing on Air Ground before opting to land on the ground as his Quincy Cross illuminated as it took in reishi. ”Ah, I’m too old for this.” he complained a little with a relaxed tone, but not dropping his guard at all. He could tell. He wasn’t stupid. He knew that the Fullbringer was still kicking.

Blair sneered. Of course it didn't work! What was crazy was that this kid wasn't even using any abilities from what she could tell, but he was able to break out of literal rock. That meant he had to be physically strong, though she had no idea how strong, exactly. All she knew was that she couldn't restrain him using her usual means, so she had to think about something else. She wasn't as strong as others in her organization, either. She started to doubt herself a bit and the usefulness she actually had. She thought she was going to come out on top quickly so they could move on to the next target and take them out, but this was harder than she thought.

She didn't have time to be distracted. At the sound of the man's warning, Blair used Movement to get out of the way of the broken road, though the impact hit her just a bit. She flew back, caught her footing, and slid across the road on her feet. Thankfully, she was wearing shoes. She had some protection here, at least. After doing a bit of quick thinking, she realized they may have to potentially exhaust this kid before they could bind him up. He was too strong in his current state, so their only hope would be knocking him out. Well, so she thought. The only reason why she didn't go full force into smacking him with her Release was because he really was just a child.

The pseudo-Fullbringer also used a step technique and disappeared with a flash, though something about it seemed off, as well. It was fast. Faster than Blair's use of Movement, for sure. But she was still able to somewhat follow his process. Would she be able to predict every move without further analysis? No, not at all. He really was too quick. But he didn't go after the old man using his normal speed. Blair had a hunch as to why since it only made sense, but she didn't want to look like an idiot when her parter seemed to be handling things really well on his own. She watched him form a bow, causing her to realize quickly he was a Quincy, and saw his five arrows form and shoot before her eyes.

Quite athletic, that one. Even if he did complain. Blair couldn't help but smile right before returning her attention to the child they were fighting. She had nothing up her sleeve without dipping into her Release. Well, almost nothing... She did have one thing. She could be support. Using Bringer Light to get in close, she realized the eyeball was looking directly at her while the kid was paying attention to her older comrade. She flashed once again, sparking her control over the souls of light around her so much during the use of her step technique that the light was increased tenfold, hoping to temporarily blind her enemy. This second consecutive use of the technique also meant she moved away at 3,900 Speed, hoping Eyeball wouldn't be able to catch her.

She traveled faster than the old man's arrows, but that was her goal. She wanted to get to him before the arrows did in order to ensure they met their target. Combining their skills was the best use of their powers, and she could play nice with this guy even though he kept calling her 'Little Lady.'

Technique Description and Effects:
This is a movement technique. It's to keep up with things like Shunpo or Sonido. While all races using this have their own variant of a step technique already, this one is pretty much an in-general type of move. It attunes the physical body to the reiatsu in the air, rather than spiritual to spiritual. It is now physical to spiritual. This allows the user to step at 3x speed for the cost of only 25 Reiatsu. This technique does not take up a technique slot.

How to use technique: Focus the body’s energy and release during a step. This technique can be broken off in the middle of its use. Unlike other step techniques, this one can be repeated while in the middle of the previous one, allowing someone to change their movement course in mid movement.
