Plotline: The group known as Cryptid has decided to act against those who oppose them with lethal force. They have sent out a very specific person to fight against the opposition, and this person is not to be taken lightly. Will the group make it out alive, or will they suffer due to Cryptid’s evil plot?

Special Conditions: Each character can only join one Canon thread at a time. There is a strict one-week posting timer that begins once a previous participant posts. If the next participant fails to post during their turn during this time period, they get skipped. This does not mean they get dropped, but that participant’s character will suffer the consequences (such as being forced to take whatever damage has occurred due to a previous poster’s actions). Participants are free to drop if they so choose and new participants can join, but there can only ever be a maximum of four participants at any time. If someone gets skipped, the DM will post who was skipped and whose turn it is to post. If any participant is skipped 3 times within the Canon thread, they will be automatically dropped and someone new may be permitted to join.

DISCLAIMER: I fully expect your characters' Classes to increase because of other threads outside of the Canon! That is okay, but you are required to use the stats and skills your character has at the time of Canon entry. They cannot be updated. If your character was Class 6 for an Easy thread, for example, and you post your stats and skills as they were at Class 6, then that is what they will be throughout the duration of the Canon thread. If your character's Class increases to 5, that is okay. They are still required to use their Class 6 values. Likewise, if your character was Class 8 at the time of entry and increased to Class 6 outside of the Canon, they must still use their Class 8 stat and skill values. "Forget this! They have no clue who they're messing with! They don't get to make me out to be some kinda fool or a clown."

Anthony's tantrum could be heard throughout the entire building. His employees were weary about entering his office while he was like this because he was prone to throwing things and breaking everything else. True to that, even more damage could be seen from within the room, this time with broken glass and blood from his bleeding hands. Anthony had decided to punch out his windows in a fit of rage, causing the glass to crack and cut the delicate skin on his fist. He was in no mood to play games anymore. Nothing was going to stop him from killing anyone who stood in his way, and he was going to make sure of it.

"Hey-yo Johnny. I need ya up here, man. We gotta get the gang together to take care of some minor irritations with my plans. ... Yeah, yeah. I know. I'm gonna pay ya. ... Wouldja quit your complainin' and just get up here?"

Johnny, one of Anthony's henchmen, didn't drag his feet at all once his boss called. He grabbed several different types of weapons - primarily guns - and a few holsters in order to make sure Anthony was well-equipped. When dealing with the spiritual world, sometimes it was best to fight fire with fire. And Anthony, being the powerful man that he was, decided he was going to burn the whole city down if he had to. His army was already out there causing unnatural amounts of chaos. People were dying left and right. Everything was going according to plan except for these awful group of people coming after him. So, naturally, he had to put a stop to it.

He'd told Remina earlier on that she wasn't to come anywhere near Central Park. She obeyed, which made Anthony happy. His entire purpose was to protect her as if she were his own daughter, something he'd brainwashed her into thinking anyway. In Anthony's eyes, Remina was completely incapable of fighting. Maybe that had a hint of truth to it, especially seeing as she never had before. He didn't take the time to train her, either. She was a trophy to him. She was this pretty little thing who was meant to sit still and listen. Luckily for him, she was very good at doing exactly that. She didn't dare go against his orders.

As Anthony finished dressing himself in his artillery, he looked out the window at the city beneath him. He could hear car horns as people tried to escape his pseudo-Fullbringers. He could smell blood in the air. The mutants must've figured out their powers well enough to go out and start really causing trouble, and that brought about a sadistic sense of pride in them coming from the man. They were living out his dream, and he was about to do everything he could to support them. So, with the finishing touches, Anthony exited his office and descended to the lobby of the office building where he had been formally working.

"I'll show these idiots how a real New Yorker does it."

Anthony has caught on to the opposition's plans and he is not happy. It's up to you to stop him now as he comes directly for you. Weakening his herd of pseudo-Fullbringers was helpful since he doesn't have quite the powerhouse he could have, but he's still a formidable man. The setting is Central Park at about midnight. Nobody is around, but there is the sound of faint screaming everywhere you look. People are still being attacked relentlessly by the monstrosities that Anthony created, and there is absolutely no sign of any of that stopping. He's decided to take it into his own hands how things end here.

Luckily, this group is strong in their own way. There is no doubt that their organizations sent them to try to maintain the peace or even figure out Anthony's secrets. They're going to have to defeat him in order to learn anything about what's going on and why he did all of this, and he isn't one to go down easy. You have to figure out a way to beat him for answers, because don't forget about his pseudo-Fullbringers. They're still just normal humans, too. Is there anything that can be done about them, or is it just too late to save their already-broken minds? Hopefully we figure it out soon, because Anthony is on his way.

[Irina Davayte]

Irina Davayte was going to need a professional cat-sitter at this point. Beastie, Irina's 7.5-kilogram orange tabby cat, couldn't be trusted on his own, even if she did leave out a week or so’s food, hooked up his water fountain, and made sure that her self-scooping litter box, an invention of Irina's own, was in perfect working order. So when Irina received word that she'd need to go to New York, she ran through her mental list of pet sitters. A couple of her engineering co-workers had watched Beastie for her when she'd gone out of town for various trips, ranging from actual visits to see her family to fake trips for “family emergencies”. This time she'd need to call in sick, so she couldn't call someone she worked with. So Irina downloaded an app where she gave a stranger the code to get the key to her apartment and hoped for the best.

Irina had only been to the US once, and it had been to Louisiana, which had an entirely different culture compared to New York City. She was glad Scarlet, whose accent she thought sounded American, would be joining her, because she was less-than-confident about finding her way around. She'd arrive in Central Park close to midnight, and to try to keep her cool with the disconcerting screaming sounds by introducing herself to the others. She'd also ask Scarlet "Remind me where you're from again?"

[Alexander Alistair]

”I see. So dead or alive it is then? Color me surprised. Is what he knows really that valuable?” the handsome devil asked to the person on the other side of the cellphone he held to his ear. Hidden within the shadows of Central Parks Greywacke Arch, one of the many bridges inside the massive stretch of greenery and trees within the Big Apple, was a man on a mission. Neck length brown locks did a good job hiding a portion of his face from view, the only sign of him being there being the illuminated screen that he held close to his head. His crimson eyes peered through his bangs, taking notice of some movement in the distance. With how dark it was he didn’t really need to be hiding underneath a bridge like some troll but you could never be too careful these days. The violence hadn’t reached this far into the park just yet but even from here Alexander could hear the screams and telltale sounds of a riot.

Turning his attention back to his phone Alexander let out an affirming grunt in response to what he heard. ”I only promise to try. But, one way or another, we’ll get what we’ve come for. I’ve already dispatched Grinpatch, Alfaro, and Ivan to go investigate another location of interest. Yes. I’ll be fine. It’s easier for me to work by myself in this scenario. I’ll do what I can and report back the results.” Alexander explained before pulling the phone away from his ear and hitting the end call button. With that out of the way then. Pushing himself off of the tunnel wall, Alexander departed from where he was hiding and poked his head out to look around.

Nobody was around. Good. Being as street smart as he was he knew it wouldn’t have been a good idea to wear his uniform. He had instead opted to dress himself up in something more his style for when he was out and about outside of the Silbern. A black collared button down with a red tie. Tucked in of course. Crimson red pants and wearing a holster across his chest. Finally with some black loafers. He was undercover. Alexander was on a search and destroy or recover mission. He needed to maintain his cover and not let anyone who might be in the know who he was or who he was with. This meant no military paraphernalia. He kept his Quincy Cross hidden within his sleeve and made sure that his Blut was off.

He couldn’t hide the fact he was a Quincy. No no. But he could at least hide His Majesty's blessings. Moving out from under the bridge, Alexander pulled a pack of smokes out from his pockets and lit one up. Blue flame manifesting from his index fingers tip that he held to one end of the cigarette. ”I should quit. It’ll kill me one day.” he commented to himself, taking a deep inhale and letting out a slow exhale, knowing he was gonna need that hit of nicotine to deal with what he was going to be walking into. Resting the cigarette between his lips, Alexander headed in the direction of the chaos.

"I never thought I'd be back here so soon," Blair began, her Jersey accent mixing in perfectly with the New York setting. "And I guess I didn't wanna be."

She'd visited the city several times during her childhood. Her mom used to take her a few times a year, and her dad was no stranger to the place given what he did for work. She was blessed to be able to say she'd seen Broadway plays, tried the famous pizza here, had gone to China Town, and all the other touristy things people are supposed to do. She never once thought she'd be facing off against the leader of the exact organization who kidnapped her sister all those years ago. It was surreal, honestly. It brought back way too many harsh memories that flooded Blair's mind as she looked around Central Park, trying to gather her bearings.

After moving to Japan when she discovered her Fullbring powers, Blair tried not to look back. Her goal was to train and one day find Remina. Their parents had all but given up on the search after the authorities announced the girl as dead, but Blair knew that wasn't true. How many times had they gone to the cops just to be told there was no hope? How many times did it seem all too suspicious? The blonde felt rage start to boil from within. Her powers wanted to activate so badly. Was it really that they had a mind of their own, or was it that she was so desperate to kill whoever did this to her family that the rage began to feel that much more familiar?

Walking around the park a bit more, Blair heard the faint screams in the distance of people being attacked. How many pseudo-Fullbringers had there been? Hundreds? More than that? And most of them had been children at the time of their kidnapping. How did Cryptid ever get away with such a thing? Unfortunately, Blair wasn't much of a detective. She'd only just learned about this connection through Xcution's help. If she didn't have Shizuka and her organization, there was a massive possibility that Blair never would have found anything out about this gang. At least she had more than just a lead.

Smelling the strong scent of smoke, Blair followed it through the park as it led her to another man. She hadn't smelled anything just a moment ago, especially not with how everyone had been evacuating the city. Shockingly enough, the death toll wasn't even that high yet. Last she'd heard from a report, it was maybe something like a hundred or so. The amount of people who were injured, on the other hand, was astronomical. Hundreds of thousands. Possibly even a million. Many were in fatal condition and this started to feel like a Marvel movie. Hospitals were sending reports of being too full and many of the injured were shipped off elsewhere.

Absentmindedly traveling over Greywacke Arch, Blair noticed the scent of cigarette smoke grew stronger as she heard footsteps coming from below. She peered over the edge of the bridge and blinked, then gasped. She watched for only a minute as the man began walking with purpose towards where the screams were and panicked. He was a stranger, and she wasn't prepared to meet a stranger. But he was an innocent civilian. She didn't want some innocent civilian getting killed by those brainless monsters. So she quickly jumped the edge of the bridge, landed with a light bracing to avoid hurting her knees, and ran after him.

"What are you doing? You have to get out of here!" Blair did her best to try to catch up despite him getting a head start, though thankfully he had only been walking. She shoved her hands inside the kangaroo pouch of her pastel pink hoodie as her ponytail swished in the breeze. "Can't you hear everything going on around us? That isn't good!"

As she caught up to the man, the height difference was laughable. There was basically a foot and a half between the top of his head and the top of her own, but she tried being confident nonetheless. She didn't have time to feel insecure about something she couldn't change, but that didn't stop her from having a difficult time looking him in the eye. She was so frustrated. Even in times like this, Blair was too awkward around strangers. She didn't have the confidence she needed to talk to them and it was incredibly annoying. She shifted her feet, her white converse scraping against the ground a bit as her bright red eyes glanced off in some other direction.

"I mean... Everyone already evacuated, and you're just a sitting duck here. You gotta go."

Getting another emergency deployment wasn’t something that Scarlet would have anticipated so quickly after the frustrating assignment last time she’d been sent to the United States. That had happened recently and all things considered she was still pretty new to UE. She’d met some of the other members and worked alongside at least two others during the last mission. Both of them were good people and that’s why Scarlet had ultimately for the time being stayed employed as a member of UE instead of taking either Hoshi up on his offer and joining Xcution or Tala who believed that she could get a position as a substitute Shinigami,

Helping people while being a good person. That was ultimately what Scarlet wanted to accomplish with her life and although she didn’t like being forced to drop everything that was going on she knew that New York City was in danger. From the little bit of information that she’d been given, Scarlet found that it had already suffered quite a lot in recent history due to spiritual involvement. Although she’d heard enough about NYC to figure that the people there weren’t all good and some probably deserved it. That didn’t mean she was just going to ignore all the good people that would suffer if no one stepped up. M

Taking a long flight from Japan to NYC, she read some information on theories about Soul Command and other spiritual races. Scarlet still believed that she was naive about most things spiritual and while it wasn’t something she excelled at she had to learn as much as possible. One thing that she didn’t smile about though while drifting off to sleep on the flight was that she wouldn’t have to be in charge again. Irina was going to be tackling this assignment with her which meant she could hopefully just leave the decisions to her Manager and happily cleave everything bad in half.

At the moment Scarlet was making her way over to a meeting point, she was holding the UE cell phone with her left hand going over the message that had been sent to her by Irina only a couple minutes ago. It didn't take her long to reach Central Park and start hearing the screams of others. Scarlet had to start running although it was a struggle to not run right towards the sounds of panic. Another minute or so and she found Irina thankfully nearby. “I’m from Kyoto, my father was an American. Do we have a plan, Irina?”

The screams grew louder. Imagine the bustling streets of New York City, usually filled with the hum of traffic and chatter, now echoing with the terrified screams of people running for their lives. The once vibrant Times Square is now a chaotic scene of panic, with monstrous figures chasing after the fleeing crowds. Their unique forms cast long, menacing shadows under the flickering neon lights. The air is thick with fear, as the desperate cries of the victims pierce through the night, audible from miles away. The pseudo-Fullbringers, relentless in their pursuit, leave a trail of destruction in their wake, as the city that never sleeps is plunged into a nightmare.

Anthony had been traveling for a few minutes now, using the subway tunnels as his primary pathway since the evacuations meant the tunnels were mostly empty. None of the subways were actually being used at this time, and his lackeys were in tow like kittens following their mother. This man was unusually tall for a typical Italian from New York, standing at exactly six feet. His olive-toned skin still glowed despite the shadows beneath the ground, but his black hair and hazel eyes were what really showed his heritage. Dressed to impress, he wore gray slacks with a white button-down shirt, though the real ornaments were the straps of guns holstered to his body in various locations.

He was a total master of anything related to firearms. Having spent some time in a few overseas wars, he was exposed early on to the strange happenings caused by the spiritual world. He understood quickly that he, as a singular human, couldn't do anything against them on his own. So he created Cryptid in order to fight back, and the experiments eventually led to the project he was in charge of today. Frustration painted itself over his face like a fresh canvas, showing no trace of any other emotion outside of his anger. The only thing that could be seen was the very slight smirk he wore upon his lips, a hint at the adrenaline lurking beneath his skin. Something was making him excited.

The pseudo-Fullbringers were wreaking havoc outside with no hope of stopping. Civilians in the street were being beaten up by these mutants as their powers, completely unnatural in origin, could not be reigned in. They were like mindless zombies who only listened to a single person's orders, and he'd already given those orders tonight. As the pseudo-Fullbringers attacked, Irina and Scarlet would be incredibly aware of the destruction they were causing close by. Voices cried out into the air as more and more civilians were brutally attacked, and one voice suddenly stopped abruptly. Irina and Scarlet, should they investigate, would find a pseudo-Fullbringer using her nails to carve into a woman's chest.

Alex, now tailed by Blair, may choose to either stick with her or ditch her. It wouldn't be long before they would catch wind of another group of pseudo-Fullbringers attacking a store. One of them, lacking an eyeball, was actually using it as a weapon. He had ripped it out of the socket and allowed it to float above the group. Not only did this massive eye give him the ability to see 360 degrees of vision, he would be able to completely stop his enemies from moving. Operating completely on rabid instinct, Eyeball would spot Alex and Blair and prepare himself to attack. His mouth, foaming and leaking a strange fluid, was gaping open as he breathed heavily.

{Eyeball Powers}

Eyeball has the ability to see 360 degrees around him at all times by removing his own eyeball. It hovers above him and maintains a durability equal to three times his Strength since it's a part of his body and, therefore, is able to enhance its damage retention. This giant eyeball can also make someone stand still for exactly one single post by looking them in the eyes. It cannot do this for consecutive posts. If the eye contact is not constant, the ability is broken. While the person is forced to stand still, a red light beam shines down upon them from the iris. The eyeball has a diameter of about three feet.

{Fingernail Powers}

Fingernail has the ability to grow her fingernails to monstrous lengths. Each one can reach up to five feet and has a durability of three times her Strength. These nails are practically like blades and are capable of cutting even the strongest spiritual steel. They can be retracted and extended at will similar to Wolverine's claws.

OOC: The official posting order is Irina, Alex, Blair, Scarlet, then the Canon Master. This is the order we will go off of in the event of skipped posting turns. Each participant has a week since the previous participant's post to make their own post before they get skipped. The Canon Master counts as a participant in this case.

Irina, who, admittedly, had always been bad at identifying accents, continued to scan the area visually while she responded to Scarlet: ”Not sure of a plan yet, exactly. I'm hoping to figure out what's going on, and work from there.” Irina, an engineer in both profession and personality, wasn't one to jump into action without having as clear a view of the situation as possible. She noted Alexander and Blair, and decided that, since they were walking toward the problem, they were either dead meat and it was probably too late to help, or they knew what they were getting into. At least as much as Irina did, anyway. So she'd let them do whatever they were doing. ”Head towards the mess? Get anyone out that we can?” Irina proposed, assuming Scarlet, whom Irina knew to be a fan of action, would be fine with this. When Irina heard screaming get closer, she'd go to check it out.

Irina was no anatomist, but on seeing the pseudo-fullbringer carve into a woman's chest with her fingernails, Irina was confident about two things: there was no point in trying to save the woman because she was dead, and since Knifey had been able to do that with her bare hands– er, nails?, it would be smart to keep a good distance. ”Try to stay out of reach; I think she's pretty strong,” Irina advised Scarlet, and scanned the area for something to poke the metaphorical bear with, which seemed to be a safer bet than getting closer than she had to. ”Hey, close your eyes,” she said with quiet urgency, tapping Scarlet’s arm to make sure she had her attention, then used Bringer Light to get to about fifteen feet from Knifey. Then she'd concentrate her energy to a point on her index finger, releasing it into a flash that she hoped would temporarily blind and disorient the pseudo-fullbringer, then she'd take two nice, big steps back using Bringer Light. Lastly, she'd use Soul Dominance to throw a park bench at the attacker, which Irina presumed couldn't do anything to help the victim, but would at least distract them from taking any more.

Technique Name: Bringer Light

Technique Description and Effects:
This is the stepping technique for humans. It increases their speed for a single step by 10 times for 50 Reiatsu. It leaves a column of flickering light in the place where the user previously occupied. Unlike other steps, this one can be used to build speed. If used in succession, the speed and cost go up with each additional step. The second step is a 13x increase, and costs 100 Reiatsu. The third step is a 15x increase, and costs 200 Reiatsu. From there, the cost doubles with each additional step, and the speed increase goes up by 1 time. Meaning the fourth step is 16x and 400 Reiatsu, the fifth is 17x and 800 Reiatsu, etc. Though at first the column of light is visible where the user was, once the third step is reached, the column of light is no longer there. This technique does not take up a technique slot.

How to use technique: To work, this technique manipulates the soul in whatever the user is standing on, allowing for feats such as high jumping, or the step which increases speed.

The user harnesses their energy to a single point: the tip of the finger. At that finger, they will have a pebble-sized ball of golden light glowing intensely. The user then has two options. Firstly, they can either fire the ball of light as a miniature beam that releases a small explosion the size of a beach ball upon impact. The alternative option is releasing the technique without any direction, causing it to harmlessly emit a blinding, white flash. Those looking directly at the light from less than fifteen feet away will feel as though they had been hit with a flash grenade. Even to those looking from further away, the light would impair their vision for half a second.

However, if the technique is mastered, the user can pay 100 reiatsu to create five light balls, one on each finger of their hand, or 200 reiatsu to do so for all fingers of both hands. If the user loses focus while the light is concentrated at their fingertips, it will destabilize Energy Generate: Shine and cause the flashbang effect to instantly occur, blinding the unprepared user as well.

Through extra training, the user of this technique can manipulate souls on a much more grand scale. This technique costs three times the amount of reiatsu as the basic racial ability does, as a result, it can actually achieve combat useful manipulations. This technique can be used to manipulate raw elements up to the size of the user. It still cannot manipulate release weapons, and cannot manipulate the personal effects of an opponent such as clothing if there is not Reiatsu Strength Superiority.

One step after another drew Alexander closer to the chaos that he could not only hear off in the distance but mentally feel as well with his developed sixth sense. Admittedly, the Quincy wasn’t terribly excited about getting into a fight. That just wasn’t his thing. He much preferred letting other people handle that for him. Fighting was just such a drag. And they were scary. Getting hurt sucked. Alexander just wasn’t like his Private who seemed to enjoy being punched and kicked. But a job was a job. Or, rather, a mission was a mission. New York City was such an enjoyable place at night. So much more lively and invigorating to all five senses than the Silbern was. There was culture, class, and a soul to this city that Alistair understood and appreciated. It was odd to him that his brothers and sisters just didn’t seem to be able to care about anything at all outside of the war efforts.

Resting his cigarette between his lips as he walked, breathing through his nose, Alexander stopped when he felt something get picked up by his Energy Sensory. Behind him. Though his posture remained unchanged the Quincy readied himself, his reiatsu rumbling pre-ready to spark into action, before a voice called out to him that immediately diffused the situation. “What are you doing? You have to get out of here!" Well that was unexpected. Turning to look behind him just in time to watch a young girl, young woman, leap from the bridge he had just been under onto his level of the park, Alexander stood still to hear what she had to say. Ah. She was concerned about him. She might of thought he was just another civilian who might not have been aware of what was happening.

Alexander was quite a few heads taller than her. Crimson eyes looked down at the sheepish woman as she acted shy or intimidated. Was she not good with people or was it because Alexander was so tall? An entertained smile came to Quincy's lips as he heard what she said. She was a cute little thing. ”I appreciate the warning little lady but… no can do.” he said with a rather relaxed tone, the kind you would expect from a lazy old dog who just went with the flow, reaching up to the cigarette in his lips and holding it between two fingers as he inhaled deeply. Exhaling the smoke into the air, Alexander lowered his gaze a bit rather than looking directly at Blair. ”Do you like movies? I’m not big into superhero films but always did like Spiderman. It wasn’t just about Toby’s acting, but how Sam Raimi understood that the city was just as much a character as Spidy was. You can probably guess where I’m going with this, right?” he’d ask, leaning his back over his shoulder to look at Blair before giving her a wink and smile.

Putting the cigarette back in his mouth he’d resume walking again, hiding his hands in his pocket, but would keep talking. ”The NYPD can’t handle what’s going on. And when the police are dealing with somethin’ they can’t fight' that sometimes means it’s on those that can do somethin’ to do somethin’. I’m no hero though little lady. But I’m not keen on watching the boys in blue get wiped out. Or this city getting trashed by a bunch of superhuman freaks. My bars not too far from here either so… just this is just an old dog protecting his business.” Alexander explained with the sort of confidence and consistency that you’d see from a top-tier actor. He was good at this. His charisma helped carry him.

”You and I aren’t so different little lady. You’re out here for the same reason aren’t ya?” Alexander would say, turning slightly to face Blair before planting his hand right on top of her head. Rubbing his fingers through her hair back and forth he’d smile at her in the same way an older gentlemen would smile at his student. ”You should clear out though, little miss. This sort of scene isn’t what a pretty girl like yourself should be caught in.” he’d say as he removed his hand from her head and continued down the path. There was the chance she could be useful to him. From what he could tell from his Energy Sensory she was powerful. But, despite that, Alexander wasn’t keen on sending some pretty young thing to the battlefield.

But she seemed keen on following after him despite his warnings. Ah well. People were gonna do whatever they wanted in the end. Alexander was heading towards the sounds of breaking glass, chaos, and the feeling of reiatsu he was picking up on. The man came to a pause as he came upon the scene of the crime and noticed the first person that noticed the pair. A man missing an eyeball. Well it wasn’t really missing. Unless the guy couldn’t find the massive eyeball he lost that was floating over his head. ”Well that’s… unsettling. Careful now little miss.” Alexander would warn as a burst of black and blue reiatsu erupted from something hidden in the color of his sleeve. A bow formed in his left hand, a bow made of energy, as Alex lifted his right hand to his face to suck out one last puff of his cig before dropping the butt to the ground.

”Don’t think I need to say it but I’d be careful of that eye.”

Blair didn't know if it was the fact that he called her a 'little lady' or started referencing a Spider-man movie out of nowhere, but one of those two things made her stare at the man as deadpan as possible. She only slow-blinked once before rolling her eyes and groaning, already realizing he saw her as nothing but a kid. She had to admit that he was charming, and she wouldn't dare fight that fact, but the charm was outweighed by the strange father-like attitude he had. Maybe it was more like an older brother, though... Either way, it didn't take her long to realize he wasn't a regular person. She may not have known what he was, but if he didn't freak out like the civilians did, then he already knew about this hidden world.

"Your bar, huh? Do you pimp people out or is that just the aura you exude?"

Spoken under her breath enough that she didn't really believe this man would catch her words, Blair stifled yet another groan rather than allowing her emotions to have as much freedom as they did moments before. Fortunately but unfortunately, he did confirm her suspicions, but he also kept treating her like a child. Blair was a fair bit into her adulthood. She wasn't anywhere close to whatever age he probably thought she was, or if he knew she was older, he certainly wasn't acting like it. Sometimes powerful things come in small packages, or some kind of weird saying like that, and she was no exception. She had her own way of delivering a solid punch. He didn't need to act all high and mighty.

Even though she was irritated by what he was saying, Blair knew better than anybody else that right now it was safer for them to stick together. She already saw the massacre that was taking place. She didn't want to become a victim. She wanted to live and figure out what the heck Cryptid was doing to all of these kids. She also wanted to figure out what happened to Remina all those years ago. Thinking back on it, it was as if Remina didn't even recognize her own sister in their last few moments before she disappeared. Blair couldn't ever figure out why, but seeing these crazy gremlins gave her a thought. What if she'd been experimented on, as well? What if her mind had been altered?

Still following the old guy, it didn't take long before his attention was captured elsewhere. Blair was looking at exactly what her old guy pal was looking at, and it was pretty disgusting. Some random person who was clearly a victim of Crypto's experiments was missing an eye, and where the eyeball should have been was instead a dark, bloody mess. If Blair had been just about anyone else, or maybe even someone less accustomed to the spiritual world, maybe she would have recoiled in fear and hidden behind the man who seemed to protect her. Instead, she did allow herself to sneer, but she didn't let it distract her much. The fact that his eyeball was now huge and staring right at the pair of them was the problem.

"Hey, maybe we could-"

Blair's words were cut off by the sudden formation of a bow in the man's hands. She'd never seen it done before in-person, but she knew what this was. It was a Quincy bow. Wide-eyed and surprised, the blonde wasn't sure what to say after he just exposed himself like this, but suddenly his attitude towards her made a lot more sense. He was experienced. This wasn't a new deal for him. Actually, it was entirely likely he'd dealt with craziness like this before in some shape or form. Blair felt some of her anxiety leave her mind as she calmed herself down, clutching on to her bracelet with her opposite hand.

"I got this."

Waving her hand, Blair commanded the soul of the ground beneath Eyeball's feet to quickly wrap around his ankles. Her goal was to immobilize him and give the old man a chance to shoot whatever it was he had. If she were successful, at least that would give them a bit of an upper hand in this fight, but something about this guy looked crazy. He was extremely beefy. In fact, several of the pseudo-Fullbringers looked particularly muscular. Blair's analysis skills helped her theorize that this simply meant close-combat was out of the question, but she may be able to overwhelm them with a strength of her own.

"My name isn't 'little lady,' by the way. It's Blair."
