What burns brighter? Hatred or Hearth? PvP DP Hoshi vs Tala

Tala was caught off guard by the sudden assault. Hoshi's arm crashed into his side, sending a jolt of pain through his body. The molten slag from the overheated rebars splattered across his shihakusho, burning through the fabric and searing his skin even as he'd continued to step back a release the wave of heat from Hāsu. Unaware that the waves of heat were still having no effect, Tala kept his hand up to shield his eyes and stood his ground while Hoshi pressed on the attack.

Yet the intense heat and the unexpected attack left Tala momentarily disoriented. The pain was sharp, but Tala gritted his teeth and focused on the task at hand. Feeling Hoshi closing in, Tala couldn't afford to waste any time. Despite the pain and the heat, he tightened his grip on his staff. As Hoshi grabbed for the blade, Tala resisted the urge to pull away. Instead, he let himself be pulled in closer, the blade locking against Hoshi's ribcage. The sinister tone of Hoshi's voice echoed in Tala's ears, and he braced himself for what was coming.

"Shinei!"

The word resonated with power, and Tala's eyes widened with realization. In that split second, he had to react. Drawing upon the heat energy stored within Hāsu, Tala pushed it out in a burst of intense heat, attempting to create a protective barrier around himself. The shard of reiatsu shot out, and the clash of forces created a blinding display of light. The intense heat radiating from Tala's hastily summoned barrier mixed with the superheated shard. The clash of energies created a chaotic spectacle, sparks flying as the two opposing forces collide. Tala strained against the force, his shihakusho further disintegrating from the extreme temperatures. The pain was excruciating, and he felt his strength waning. The impact sent a shockwave through his body, the superheated shard searing through his chest. A chunk of his chest was taken out, exposing the raw and burnt flesh beneath.

Despite the excruciating agony, Tala continued with his plan. He channeled the remaining heat energy and activated Shunpo, creating enough distance between himself and the danger. The fading remnants of his barrier and the remnants of his burnt shihakusho stood testament to the intensity of the clash. He was panting heavily, beads of sweat forming on his forehead as he assessed the damage. The serious injury was evident, and his exposed chest showed signs of severe burns.

Tala, overwhelmed by the pain and the severity of his injuries, felt his strength give out. His legs buckled beneath him, and he collapsed to the ground, his body unable to withstand the torment. The chunk taken out of his chest left a gruesome wound, and the burns from the clash with Hoshi's attack marred his once-intact form. As he lay there, panting heavily, the ground beneath him started to fade away. Tala was no longer supported by solid footing; instead, he found himself suspended in the air, high above the ground. The realization struck him just as the last shreds of his strength gave way.

Unable to maintain his position in the air, Tala began to descend rapidly. The agony from his injuries intensified as he fell, the wind rushing past him, and the world spinning around him. He plummeted towards the ground below, his vision blurred with pain. The impact with the earth was brutal, sending shockwaves through his battered body. Tala lay sprawled on the ground, his body broken and battered from the fall.

The pain was overwhelming, and he struggled to move as the world around him spun in a disorienting blur. His breathing was erratic and a laborious effort, as each one he took was even more painful than the last. In the aftermath of the intense clash, Tala found himself defeated and grounded, the once proud and composed shinigami reduced to a broken figure on the battlefield. The battle had taken its toll, and Tala's fate now hung in Hoshi's hand.

If Hoshi did bother to follow Tala down to the ground, either to finish him off or otherwise, Tala would at least give him some final words before he'd lose consciousness, "Whatever...pain you were...caused...I'm...sorry." Each word he spoke took effort but he was at least determined to get them out before he faded into the lull of a painful sleep.

For a moment Hoshi was lost in his bloodlust, screaming with every fiber of his mind at the shinigami before him to die. And yet for the briefest of moments Hoshi's will wavered, he felt the explosion of heat not just against him but in front of him. It was akin to his own star and it had him panick for a moment before losing himself to anger yet again. Though it'd be impossible to hear over the sound of his reiastu shard clashing against the field of Tala's barrier he had all but roared out his anger at the other. Only to find, after what felt like an eternity, his shard punched through. The heat and force surrounding him died as the shard continued its trajectory and found itself not simply piercing into but through Tala. All the while Hoshi's ribcage and arms were destroyed in the process as the heat and force behind Tala's barrier were unfortunately, point blank.

Had Tala been able to see him he'd have seen that within the sphere was a humanoid spine with legs and a head. And nothing else to it. Hoshi watched with glee seeing the massive damage that was forced upon the shinigami. He wanted to laugh but found his form not responding to his will. He found himself feeling exhaustion that had been piled up, far more than he'd thought was possible. MOVE! MOVE! HE'S RIGHT THERE! I CAN KILL HIM! HE'S GOING TO BE DONE FOR! LET! ME! KILL! HIM! GODDAMNIT MOVE!!!!" The next few moments felt like an eternity as Hoshi's mind wailed and threw itself into insanity as he tried to force his body to respond, only to realize it simply wasn't going to happen. The exhaustion, especially after launching that shard was too much and his reiatsu was struggling to keep him conscious.

Thankfully while he couldn't reach out and land the final blow he watched as Tala's eyes grew dim. His body loose. And then finally watched him fall. First onto air ground and then through the air and down into the ground below. If Hoshi could have held his breath he would have. It felt both exhilarating and satisfying but also like a cruel joke that he wouldn't be the one to kill the shinigami but that gravity would steal his kill. Or worse, that he'd somehow survive the fall. Yet when Hoshi watched the other fall, heard the slam into the ground below, and remembered how high up the two were. . . He realized there was almost no way the other could have survived. It was a minimum 200 feet in the air and that was from the rooftop of a multiple storied building. If Hoshi wasn't wrong the other fell down to the actual ground level meaning, there was yet more tens of feet added.

Hoshi's eyesockets widened without him realizing it before he started to laugh in his mind. He's got to be dead. With those wounds? He couldn't have survived that fall. Even if it had happened when we started. That means he's dead. I killed them. HEhehehehehe HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! I FUCKING KILLED HIM! EVEN THOSE WHO ARE ABLE TO USE THEIR SHIKAI ARE CAPABLE OF DEATH BY MY HAND! HAHAHAHAHA! YOUR TIME IS COMING SQUAD 12! I'M GOING TO KILL YOU AND BURN YOUR LABORATORIES TO THE GROUND AND THEN THE REST OF SEIREITEI! Hoshi then realized something he was also beginning to fall. With his control on his reiatsu slipping his body was started to descend and it wasn't slowing down either. It'd be at this point that he finally found his voice. "No, NO, NOOO! FUCK THIS BO-"

With a resounding slam Hoshi's plasma body fell into a buildings rooftop and shatted the remainder of his form. Hoshi's world went black as he lost sight of the world around him. He swore he could even feel the semblance of an injury to his pill and yet his processes were beginning to force him into sleep mode. This was going to be an issue when he could finally bring himself back from the black abyss of forced sleep. But it was going to be necessary, though he hoped by the time he woke up that Shizuka or his coworkers would find him. He didn't want to cause yet more harm when he woke up and found himself within rubble or elsewhere that wasn't Xcution. I only regret not checking the body myself. . . Fuck! . . . I'll deal with it. . . later. . . Whatever. . . he's. . . . dead. . . . . . . anyway. . . From there Hoshi's pill laid in rubble waiting for whatever events would happen next. All the while his conciousness was temporarily shut down as his pill attempted to regain the mass reiatsu spent.
