Raphael turned in his bed. It was nearly three AM, Karakura time, and he couldn't sleep. Well, taht wasn't quite right, he was exhausted, but every time he slept...the nightmares came in. And they were never the same either... Some nights, he would go to sleep, and feel like he'd not eaten dinner, especially on nights when he'd eaten a huge dinner. He'd dream of the land that Kazura had taken him to that fateful night, except... he'd be walking around on the sands up above. And sometimes he would see something eating another hollow, but... when it turned he would watch the mask shatter and it was just his face...
He pushed himself out of bed and took a cold shower, trying to clear him of the dreams. But as he closed his eyes in the shower, he saw those red eyes again. He could remember fighting Kaen... He could remember... Once more those red eyes came at him and his own opened. This wasn't working. he needed to go for a walk...
With a quick tug with soul command, his phone flew to his hand and he unlocked it. Nothing. Not from Kazura or Uzaki Enterprises or even Luca. Not hearing from the company didn't surprise him, admittedly; he had been placed on extended medical leave, after what had happened. Kazura, on the other hand, he was pretty sure that the man had been feeling bad about what happened, but he hadn't called or texted. Then there was Luca... What in the fuck had happened to his friend?! He needed answers and he would get them, grabbing a sandwhich as he started waling out the door.
He started eating the moment that he was out of his apartment, and began devouring it, ravenously and in anger. Glancing at his phone as it beeped he read a text from his brother, his rage only growing as his phone disintegrated. "Damn bastard... I can't believe him." He threw away the wrapper of the sandwhich, as he finished it, and yet still he felt hungry.
"...why am I so hungry...?" This had happened ever since that day, when Kazura had broken his fullbring. It was almost like that had been a cage for whatever was within him. He could barely control it some days, and others he had full control.
FEED. HUNGER.
It was there, right at the forefront of his mind.
"No... not this time." And yet, as the sound of a hollow's echoed through the night, he could barely contain an excited, hungry shiver, that ran through his core. "M... Maybe once wouldn't be so bad... M-Maybe..." With those words echoing through the air, he dashed off in the direction of the cry. He... would... he didn't kknow what he was going to do, but he did need to at least get there, and stop this hollow. Whatever happened next... well, he would have to see.
