Height/Weight: Five foot nine and One hundred seventy three pounds
Physical Description: There isn’t a great deal that sets Raphael apart from the normal human being which is just fine with him. He’s mesomorphic, with a tanned complexion, fairly average for his weight, not too much muscle or fat on his body, and straight mahogany-brown hair that he doesn’t let fall below his ears. On his left cheek is a small, linear scar from a stupid accident when he was a kid, and yes he is rather self-conscious about it, usually ignoring questions. Usually speaking he walks around with a smile whether he’s genuinely happy or not. He has a habit of slouching, without realizing it, mostly due to a bit of low self-esteem.
Raphael wears many different things in terms of clothing, depending on the day, but on a normal casual day he is never seen without his signature blue hooded jacket. Underneath of this jacket he usually wears a starch white shirt, and a pair of jeans. He wears a pair of work boots on his feet most of the time. The jacket has a white cross emblazoned on the back, a side effect of being raised by a quincy mother, and the hood has a nice fur lining which keeps his head nice and warm during the winter. His casual clothes are usually wrinkled and look like he should’ve put them up sooner after getting them out of the dryer, though he doesn’t really care.
The appearance of his reiatsu is that of a blue flame that circles around him, and seems to swirl as though he were the center of an inferno. When felt by others, it’s very light almost like a cloud, though is usually mired in nothing but confusion and annoyance. Yet at the same time, it’s a comforting warmth and one that can help people understand that, while distrusting, he means no harm and seeks understanding instead of fight off the get go.

-Personality-
Dislikes:
1. Shinigami – To Raphael, Shinigami are the source of all problems; what with the potential to make substitute-shinigami, hollows constantly coming to eat them and probably a myriad of other problems, Raphael doesn’t have the Shinigami in the highest regard nor does he trust the black-cloaks.
2. Being Interrupted – Of all things, Raphael greatly dislikes being interrupted when he’s performing a task and will oftentimes ignore whoever is trying to interrupt what he’s doing.
3. Hollows – Monsters with masks probably brought by the Shinigami, but if they aren’t then they’re only slightly worse than the Shinigami themselves due to the fact that they devour souls.
4. Loud People – Raph likes to keep himself in semi-quiet environments, not completely quiet, but not super loud; thus whenever he runs into people that are loud and like to keep being such, he gets annoyed and tries to extricate himself from such situation as soon as he can.
5. Manipulative People – Perhaps the thing that he hates the most is people who attempt to manipulate others for any kind of reason; what in the world could people want so badly that they would mess with someone to gain what they wanted?
6. Attention – Raphael dislikes having much attention on him for very long and will, more often than not, attempt to avoid situations where attention will be put on him.
Likes:
1. Quiet Time – Raphael enjoys nothing more than a cup of tea and a nice quiet night at home alone, where he usually spends time collecting his thoughts or playing with a computer.
2. Computers – Much like with his alone time, Raphael greatly enjoys computers and has made something of a living out of building computers and designing software, including a modeling software that he uses to cause predictions on Shinigami.
3. Books – Quiet time is one of the best times for Raph since he gets to read as much as he wants, and no one can bother him, or at least, no one usually does bother him.
4. Analysis – Computing and arithmetic, styles and fights, combat of all kinds, social models and other such things, Raphael enjoys attempting to predict life as much as he enjoys living it silly as that is.
5. Going out with friends – Say what you will, but he does enjoy spending time out with his friends from time to time. Talking, drinking, catching up on what each other is doing, though that’s harder now, since moving to Japan, he still videochats with them here and there.
6. Freedom – Above all things else, Raphael values his personal freedom and despises having said freedom taken from him, and is something that he will defend with everything that he has.
Flaws:
1. Paranoia – Raphael is a bit paranoid of most since he’s only ever been able to really trust a few people and as such, tends to keep some people at something of arm’s length, viewing most as suspicious, Shinigami especially so.
2. Single-minded – Not so naïve to say that he can multitask, Raphael instead prefers to make sure something is done, before moving on to something else; even when he’s stuck on a particular area of a project he will muddle his way through it.
3. Forgetful – Unfortunately, despite being fairly intelligent, Raphael can be rather forgetful, especially when it comes to faces and the names that go with them. His coworkers tend to have to remind him who they are when he first gets to his work place.
Habits:
1. Drinks milk from the jug – Raphael, living alone, has gotten just a bit too used to doing such things as drinking straight from the jug of milk and putting it back.
2. Making sure his doors are locked – Being ever so slightly paranoid, Raphael has developed a slightly odd habit of making sure that his doors are locked, oftentimes doing so anywhere between four and five times a night, no matter what he’s doing.
3. Slouching – Raph has a really bad habit of slouching, especially when he’s sitting but it can be at any time, it doesn’t really matter what he’s doing.
Fears:
1. Death – Raphael fears not just his own death but death in general, even for the black-robes no one deserves to die and Raphael would do his best to keep that from happening.
2. Being Useless – One unfortunate part of his upbringing is that Raphael is terrified of being useless and helpless especially when it comes to friends, what few he even has.
3. Failure – Raphael fears being a failure, whether labeled that by his friends, his family or even society and his coworkers, he’s constantly doing his best, even when it’s stressful to make sure that no one can call him a failure.

Overall Personality:
Raphael is a man that both enjoys his quiet and enjoys going out with friends, which may seem a bit contradictory, but it’s only ever friends. Unless people he knows are somewhere he wouldn’t go to a party, just because it sounds like a fun thing to do, rather the opposite. Most often he can be found at home either playing a videogame, reading a book, building a computer for someone or even just playing with some coding. He is also extremely analytical, oftentimes keeping watch over anyone he’s met for both strengths and weaknesses, just in case they become an enemy.
Though knowing that he can see ghosts, he does his best to pretend like he doesn’t see either the hollows or the Shinigami, simply attempting to move faster than the hollows or taking paths to specifically avoid Shinigami he sees. If spoken to he will pretend that he hasn’t heard anything or that whoever just said something to him wasn’t really there. If discovered, he does his best to remain professionally polite, but all the same does his best to extricate himself from the situation as soon as is humanly possible.
His fears and quirks often cause him to keep working long after many of his coworkers have stopped for the day, and is usually given as a reason for why he doesn’t go out with them. When he does go out he always tends to bring his laptop and usually will take notes on any masked ones, or black-robes that he sees, then will attempt to flee the area calmly. If witnessed taking notes then he attempts to leave the area as quickly, albeit calmly, as is possible to avoid communication with black-robes and/or confrontations with masked ones.

-Powers-
Fighting Style: Raphael doesn’t fight very often, usually because he doesn’t feel like using up the amount of energy that it would take to hit someone. On the odd situation that he does fight or is only resorted to fighting, his entire philosophy is like a game of chess, watching his opponent and waiting for them to make the first move. When unreleased, he tends to stand his ground, utilizing his fists and feet to attempt to beatdown an opponent. After his first release he does his best to switch up his combat style, swinging his fist or launching items at an opponent depending on how much distance he has from an opponent. In a higher release, he will often be a bit more physical and aggressive, getting up at an opponent. Should he get into a tight spot, Raphael will back off to chuck objects at an enemy or fire beams from his second fullbring. Were he to fight with others, Raphael would first have to analyze the other person’s fighting style in order to determine how well he’d fight with them.
When not yet released, Raphael will utilize a turtle style of fighting, moving only lightly while swinging either with his fists or feet, as he doesn’t tend to use weapons. He dodges attacks as best he can, and tries to analyze the way an opponent fights while fighting back against them. Every strike he makes he almost always attempts to be against weakpoints in the body.
Unlike unreleased, in his first release, Raphael is even more analytic, watching how his opponent reacts to long and short range attacks. He is adaptive to an opponent’s attacks; should an enemy be fond of close quarters combat, Raphael will retreat as soon as he can to fire large debris at them. Should they be fond of long range, he will get close up to disrupt their range.
When in the greater stage of his power, Raphael is even more changing up how he fights. Unlike in the first release, however, in his higher release, Raphael will alternate between dashing in to strike with his more denser fists, and then dashing away to fire powerful debris at an adversary. Though still, in this power, Raphael is analytical, should an adversary be too physically resistant, Raphael will dash back to fire debris and or move forward should they be a fan of ranged.
When Raphael receives too much damage, his first attempt will be to blast an enemy and then turn around and flee. If he’s fighting alongside allies, then he will do his best to support from range, or at the very least dash away from adversaries. At a moment like this, range becomes Raphael’s main priority as he attempts to stay away from an enemy.
Should Raphael have to team up with others whether they’re other fullbrings, Quincy or even, god forbid, Shinigami, he will first find out what his allies are proficient at. From there he will act as either support or combating in close quarters, attempting to make up for whatever their group is lacking. He works best with any of the earthbound races, fullbrings and unaffiliated quincy especially. Depending on the situation he is also willing to work with arrancar, vaizard, rogues and, grudgingly, Shinigami.

Main Fullbring Level 1 Property: The first property of Raphael’s fullbring is the ability to make an object “fall” by altering it’s gravitational pull towards an adversary. The speed at which Raphael can make said objects fall depends largely on distance with farther distances equaling greater speeds as said item accelerates. At about 10 feet said object would move at about 200 speed, twenty feet and this increases to 400 speed and a bit under 50 feet it stops at about 600 speed. Raphael describes this ability simply as a “Vector”. If Raphael’s OS is greater than an opponent he’s facing, an additional 50 reiatsu can be paid in order to effect attacks and/or techniques.
Main Fullbring Level 2 Properties: Upon the empowering of Raphael’s fullbring the gauntlet extends around his body in his entirety in a large golden suit, with a blue sapphire on the center of the chest. In this form the gem on the palm begins to glow a very bright blue and his reiatsu erupts in a much larger flaming blue. His eye begins to glow with a much deeper hue and pulses a bit along with his reiatsu.
The first new property afforded to Raphael he calls “Dense” and, while being a rather simple ability, is potent nonetheless. With this ability Raphael increases the gravity on his limbs right before he hits, causing his strength and speed to momentarily increase. This increases his speed and strength by 100 each, and costs 300 to use.
The next part of his ability is called “Field” and is an increase in his original power. Unlike the first part of his power, Raphael’s second property causes him to emit a thirty foot field of gravity, allowing his power to change the vectors of objects to expand to up to three objects. He can activate this part of his power for 200 reiatsu, but has to pay 50 reiatsu in order to throw three objects. Much in the same line as his Vector power does, Raphael’s “Field” will also cause said items to accelerate the further away he is. If Raphael’s OS is greater than an opponent’s he can spend an additional 100 reiatsu to use his gravity to effect said opponent’s attack.
The final part of Raphael’s ability is, without a doubt, the most dangerous of them all and is called “Slow”. In this part of Raphael’s power, he emits a field of gravity about 30 feet in diameter, so strong that it disrupts time a bit, causing any that come into the field to slow down, their speed decreasing by 50%. “Slow” is a field that expands about 30 feet. Should an opponent have a greater OS than Raphael’s then they can resist the effect without an issue. This ability costs 500 reiatsu to activate cannot be reactivated for 8 posts afterwards and the slowdown only lasts for 1 turn per enemy that walks into the field.
Secondary Fullbring Appearances: Raphael’s second fullbring, takes the shape of a small dinosaur like skull that flies around Raphael, one of the eyes lacking a pupil. In terms of overall design, it looks very similar to a ceratosaurus, with an elongated skull, ridge of bone over the eyes, and hollowed out snout. Whenever Raphael uses it, small cracks appear along the skull itself as its eye begins glow white hot.
Secondary Fullbring Properties: Raphael’s secondary fullbring is rather odd, as while floating around Raphael it can fire beams of energy in a way like a pulsar that travels at a speed of 200. The blast fired is always pure white in color, is about as large as a typical cero and can be fired in succession requiring 50 reiatsu each time. It doesn’t take much to fire the beam and can easily spin around Raphael in order to fire blasts at an opponent, glowing white hot as it fires.
The other property that Raphael’s secondary fullbring has is the ability to be detonated. When this part of Raphael’s fullbring is activated the skull suddenly glows an even brighter white, cracks appearing all up and down the skull. It shakes for a moment, energy pulsing off it as it floats towards an opponent and then suddenly erupts in a blinding flash of light and heat. This explosion consumes an area of 20 feet, causes damage 50% higher than Raphael's offensive stat and must be re-summoned, regardless of how many rounds it has been active before the explosion.

Memorable Figures: Michael “Mike” Charlemagne – Mike, for short, is one of Raphael’s three friends and is arguably the closest to Raph, the two having been together since they were really young. Loyal, yet daring, Mike is the one that usually gets Raph out of his shell (and his apartment).
Donovan “Donnie” Ignacious – Calm, collected and very concerned with all things physics, Donovan is the man that Raphael will go to whenever he needs practical and logical advice, though not matters of the heart or emotional issues.
Leonard “Leo” Bernard – Raphael’s go to for anything emotional or spiritual, Leo is a psychiatrist and self-help book writer; while not exactly the most intelligent of their group Leo is in tune with himself to an incredible degree and empathic to a dangerous level.
Jennifer Borgee – A mysterious free quincy, it isn’t known which side she’s on. While she taught Raphael about everything when he hit the age of seventeen and was given his ring, she never went into any further detail than what was going on and what he was seeing, wanting him to “figure it out” himself.
Brian Borgee – Raphael’s adopted brother, and quincy like his mother, he went off to join the Vandenreich shortly after leaving home at the age of eighteen, wanting to give his life for the greater good.
History: A young couple walks to their home in the suburbs of Chicago, Il late one evening. They’d had a long night of being out at a family friend’s house to eat dinner, and were just returning home. It had been a long night, but it was nice outside and the two of them had decided to just walk to their friend’s house. They were walking along and talking peacefully, when the husband was sent sailing across the road. His wife, Raphael’s biological mother, blinked and looked over at him, as he was lifted screaming and was slammed onto the ground several times. There was a moment of silence, when she herself was also grabbed by the leg, and was nearly lifted into the air, when suddenly it vanished as she was released. Panicking and panting, she immediately dialed emergency services who were there in seconds.
Unfortunately when they and police arrived, he was declared dead on arrival. This broke the woman. Just married, happily so, and with a child on the way and now her husband was killed by…something? It wasn’t right, it had to be a nightmare, right? It didn’t make any sense… Her brother came in and started taking care of the house chores while she did her best to hold herself together for unborn child. Thankfully the rest of her final trimester went just fine and without a problem, despite the depression she now had.
A month later she delivered a healthy young baby boy and named him Raphael Adrian Laurent, and she couldn’t help but smile with joy. It was a wonderful thing to her, almost like she was getting part of her husband back. She cried tears of joy as she hugged her young son tightly, feeling at the very least, a little alive again.
Not long after Raphael was born, his mother went back to work, a local babysitting for her. Raphael was, reported to be a fussy, though happy, child and for the next few months the babysitter was more than happy to keep working for her. Everything was going swimmingly and life was getting back on track for her as well as for Raphael. The next few months, going into early February were going wonderfully. It was about that time that one of his mother’s coworkers, a woman named Jennifer, began to start watching him now and then for her, as the babysitter had relented saying that she had to go back to school. But one day, in the middle of March, all of that would change.
Raphael was in a crib resting, and his mother was sitting nearby smiling and reading a book, the two of them just relaxing his mother relaxing, while Jennifer was getting her stuff ready to go. Suddenly the nearby wall exploded out, and an enormous monster with a white mask burst through. Immediately, Raphael’s mother leapt forward, grabbing Raphael from the crib, causing him to scream, and startled Jennifer who came running into the room. Seeing the creature, Jennifer held out a small pendant that immediately ignited into a blazing blue bow and began to fire arrows at it. But it sent large chunks of the house at Jennifer, who leapt forward, only barely getting trapped caught in the leg and got lightly stopped trying to free herself, before firing another arrow to drive it off for a second.
It reached for Raphael’s mother, who turned away to try and protect Raphael, while trying to run. Jennifer freed herself and surged forward, but was a little too late. The hollow had punctured her chest, and her heart right before Jennifer noticed that little Raphael had been sent sailing along with a small ring. Without a second’s hesitation, Jennifer dashed backwards, catching Raphael and the ring with a frown, and ran up the stairs before jumping out a nearby window, shielding Raphael before fleeing from the scene. When the hollow didn’t follow she was quite certain that the Shinigami must have come to deal with it. Knowing that they would most likely fix it and erase a few memories, she frowns, looking at Raphael and shaking her head.
“I’m sorry, little one…” she said as Raphael started to cry, tears streaming from her own eyes. “I’m so sorry… I…” She looked around. “I’ll… Don’t worry, I’ll take care of you…” Crying, she took Raphael home with her, putting him down for a nap while also tending to her own child, Brian. The moment that she got him back to her home she sat down with her husband Charles and discussed what exactly had happened. Charles solemnly nodded; he’d known Raphael’s mother and father and the loss of the father had been hard enough, but the loss of Raphael’s mother was a powerful blow. Still, at least Raphael was safe, though when she opened her hand and saw the ring, they both simply hugged Raphael tightly.
Jennifer and Charles proved to be wonderful parents for Raphael. He was sent to school when he got old enough and, much like Brian, did well enough for himself through elementary school. Towards the end of elementary school, Raphael was taught how to defend himself by Jennifer, though it wasn’t standard martial arts. Raphael’s mother taught him what basically equaled street brawling but had no true practiced motions. It was slow going, but after a bit of time Raphael began to pick it up and he realized that he could more than easily defend himself.
Right before he was about to enter middle school, Jennifer sat him down and told him that he was, adopted and that his mother had, unfortunately died. Little Raphael was devastated and cried, Jennifer wrapping her arms around him, holding him and consoling him, saying that both her and Charles still loved him like their own before handing him the ring, saying that his mother would want him to have it. She had it placed on a necklace so that he could wear it on him if he wanted, which he did and put it around his neck. He would wear this ring around his neck until he was old enough to actually wear it himself.
It was his first year of high school when he suddenly started seeing ghosts and slightly began freaking out as he watched. But when Jennifer realized this, she immediately sat down with Raphael and began to explain that ghosts were real and that he wasn’t simply seeing things or going crazy. Slowly she began to explain to Raphael about the Shinigami, the hollows, the quincy and fullbrings. She went into specific detail about the Shinigami and their evils, as well as what they had done to the quincy. Obviously, Raphael’s first impression of these black-robed people was immediately soured by hearing these stories.
When Raphael got out of high school, he went into college but slowly began to develop a habit: Now and again when the black-robes would go by, he would follow, charting out their patrol path a bit, or watching their battles and jotting down notes. Later on he began to use this information to make models in an attempt to do predictions for how they’d fight or try to create better strategies than they themselves used.
College went by far too quickly and Raphael went into Information Technology with a large company. It wasn’t a hard job, just making sure computers were plugged in and everything was doing fairly well for himself when suddenly a job opportunity in a company over in Japan opened up. Without a moment’s hesitation, Raphael immediately took the opportunity, moving out to Japan with his best friend Mike who had gone into the same field. This is where Raphael begins…
