She hadn't been explicitly asked to tag along, but Irina determined that, at this point, Kazura probably expected that they'd stick together. Indeed, he opened up the cab door and waited for her to come too, so Irina slid into the car with him. As expected, Nancy had successfully kept the whole thing under wraps, as had the hospital staff, who undoubtedly didn't want to get sued nor have their licenses revoked over a confidentiality issue. "No see, now you're making it weirder. You're supposed to say 'No, you're weird' and then let it go. It's not that serious a thing; I'm just glad you're not dead, that's all," Irina tried to explain, jabbing Kazura with an elbow. "Is this the first time you've been friends with a woman?" she asked, 50% curious if that was the reason for his being seemingly unable to translate her one-sided banter, and 100% teasing. "No offense," she added, but it was still probably an offensive question.
Not long after, Nancy, who'd carefully kept all of the ducks in a row at UE for the past day-and-a-half, rang Irina's phone. "Yes, on his way back now. No, I don't think he'd be talked into going home to rest, but feel free to try, I guess." There was a pause and if he was paying attention, Kazura would be able to make out a somewhat back-handed compliment about Irina not being what Nancy had expected, considering the way they'd first met. "For the last time, I am not, nor have I ever been, an exotic dancer!" Irina exclaimed before realizing what she'd said aloud in a taxi containing two men, quickly hanging up the phone, and putting her face in her hand. The cab driver, for what it was worth, didn't flinch, continuing to focus on his driving. "Anyway," Irina said, face still in her palm, "Nancy has everything under control over at UE.”
