Almost knocking over Irina was unfortunate in that they both were off balance, but also led to her being grabbed and bitten by one of the many hands after them. Kazura would have to be more careful in the future. Irina, however, gave him a heads up before she flashbanged the hands with the many eyes, so he was able to get his eyes shut in time to prevent blindness. This had the added effect of blinding the thief, though, as they were seeing through the ten eyes on the hands over their own personal eyes. The hands returned towards the Fullbringer on the throne who also was reeling from the Shine. They weren't paying attention to the woman trying to reason with them.
"Argh! No one will keep me from my treasures, no one!" Wanting to take the opportunity to get closer to the villain and take them down, but not wanting to tug on Irina, knock her over, or worse come disconnected, Kazura acted quickly, but told Irina the plan first. "Lock your legs." Once Irina had a moment to prepare, the Uzaki CEO used his Fullbring to activate both his and his Manager's boots in the "dash" function that sent them forwards at 200 speed. Not as fast as the hands had been, but fast enough to close the distance across a grocery aisle.
He swung his energy sword at the cluster of hands and thief, hoping that he'd strike something solid.

On hearing Kazura's warning, Irina locked her legs as instructed and, not knowing what he was actually going to do, (Some mind reading would be helpful right about now, she noted), she removed her sword from its position between the biting hand and her leg, bringing it to her right side. It turned out to be a good call, as she was jolted forward towards the robber. Leaving the sword where it had been would have risked it being pulled in towards her leg by inertia. The ankle hand, surprisingly, seemed to slightly loosen its grip, still clinging on, but less sharply. It continued, though, to chomp at her every so often.
Kazura slashed towards the thief, which to Irina, seemed excessive. Was he trying to kill this person? Was killing people because they stole stuff something he was morally comfortable with? Not wanting to have complying with that on her conscious, she'd better find out sooner than later, Irina figured. In the moment she thought this, the many hands, still blinded but apparently having decent senses, crowded together to form a shield around their owner. Kazura sliced through about a dozen of them, which fell to the floor. The hands that had been pretty much bifurcated thumped down quite lifelessly, but others that had only lost parts of fingers or palm cried and seemed to bleed out.
"Wait, what's the idea here? Are we murdering people because they steal things? I'm not exactly comfortable with that," Irina asked Kazura quietly while the apparent madman tearfully cried out "My hands! My hands!", scooping one which had lost an entire index finger off of the ground and placing it on its knee. Another hand flew up, trying and failing miserably to stick the finger back where it'd come from, and instead basically painting its master's knee with blood.
Not yet having decided exactly what to do with the odd Fullbringer they'd just met, Irina attempted to disable him, moving towards his shoulders with her sword and producing and snapping off a series of icicles that would form two X-shapes, locking him into his soda box throne. The soda boxes themselves weren't terribly durable, but at least this setup would buy a little bit of time to figure out how to proceed from here. Irina fully expected Kazura to be frustrated with her essentially putting solving this problem on pause, but she was okay with that if it meant coming up with a solution that seemed a little more ethical. Or, if nothing else, waiting to see some evidence that this crazy person actually deserved to die.
Naturally, the ankle hand chose that moment to chomp into her leg hard enough to make it bleed, and she yelped out "Ouch!", instinctively running it through with an icicle sprouting from her shin, wondering why she hadn't thought of that sooner. Her cry would likely snap the criminal out of his emotional spiral.

A mixture of emotions would flow to Irina from Kazura. First, surprise. Shock, even. A twinge of anger, then subsiding to just frustration. "Irina, they're using spiritual powers to harm humans. There's no prison in the world that could hold them. They don't deserve to just escape to where they can continue their crimes." How could she be so casual about it? Trying to negotiate, telling the thief her name even and just trying to shoot the breeze with them. His anger flared up again and waned into acceptance.
"Whatever, we do it your way... Hey, come back here!" The Fullbringer thief had simply Soul Dominated the soda boxes behind them, opening up a way to just fall backwards out of Irina's Ice Cross Prison. Clutching at a wounded hand, they hurried to the employee only areas of the store. Kazura scanned through his memory for a good technique to stop this, but came up short. He pushed a little harder than he should have into Irina's technique memory base and pulled out an appropriate technique to stop this thief.
With a sharp breath inwards, and another boost forward with the boots, Kazura charged the other fullbringer and exhaled a mass of frigid snow using the aptly named Frigid Soul technique. The stream of snow caught the thief in the back, who slipped and fell onto the ground. "Now what do you suggest we do? Again, there's no prison on Earth that could contain them and the Shinigami would kill them if they saw them after what they did here today..." The Shinigami were less forgiving than Kazura, but still he didn't know what to say. His worldview had been questioned today by his Manager, and he was at a loss as to what to do now.

Kazura was frustrated, and Irina got it. The idea of bringing the criminal to justice made sense, as did that of keeping them from harming others. Still, there had to be a better way. ”I’m not saying let’s let them get away,” she said not quite apologetically, but not argumentatively either. Working with other people, she noted, wasn’t quite as easy as making decisions by herself. If she had to guess, she’d think Kazura probably felt the same way. The good part about it, she thought, was that having more than one perspective on an issue probably made it less likely to make a regrettable choice. She and Kazura would need a little practice to figure out “their way” of doing things, if they didn’t want to settle for doing things just his or her way.
The thief broke out of their soda throne, and Kazura slowed them down with a stream of snow that caused them to fall. Not feeling that they had time to discuss how to proceed from here, Irina re-trapped the other Fullbringer to the floor with a careful set of two icicles around their ankle to pin them down, and addressed them directly. ”Hey,” she said evenly, getting close enough to force eye contact with them. Before she could quite continue, the still-trapped Fullbringer crunched up their face in concentration. ”Blue Eyes Ultimate Hand!” The remaining hands dissipated into thin air, re-forming to the left of the group as a giant hand, about four feet tall, adorned with a blue eye on each fingertip. She didn’t know exactly what it could do, but Irina felt confident that this was something she didn’t want to have attacking them.
She thought through ways she knew to handle this opponent quickly, choosing Energy Generate: Electrocution, which she’d talked about with Kazura not too long ago. She felt fairly confident that if she concentrated, she could fire lightning towards the hand through Kazura’s left hand, which was much better situated for reaching it than she was. Feeling guilty that there wasn’t time to have a discussion to determine whether Kazura was actually okay with this, she shot an about seven-second bolt of electricity from Kazura to the big hand. The fingers of the hand would bend back from the palm in pain, and a red crust formed around the area that had been targeted.
When the shock was over, the hand collapsed on the ground. She wasn’t sure if it was “dead” or not, nor whether it could actually be killed at all, but Irina felt confident that it was out of commission for the moment. The guilt she had just distracted herself from returned as she recalled that the drawback to this technique was that it would cause Kazura pain and numbness in the arm from which it had been cast. Which, at the moment, was his only free arm since they were still connected by the other. ”I’m sorry,” she said quietly, breaking eye contact with the criminal to avoid any confusion about to whom she was apologizing for kind-of-accidentally barbecuing.
Irina looked back at the stranger. ”Listen, this is not an option,” she said with all the firm serenity of a seasoned Kindergarten teacher. ”Going around robbing people using your spiritual powers is not an option. He’s right,” she said, indicating Kazura, whom she could only assume didn’t necessarily want to be named here, ”I’m sure you’re a strong contender for the police, but the Shinigami are absolutely not going to let you pull this kind of thing. You’re hurting other people and putting yourself at risk for what? Some cash? This is not an acceptable lifestyle. I can only assume this is your first time trying this,” she gestured to the pile of valuables behind them, ”because you will get caught.
“I’m confident you can make better choices than this.” It wasn’t so much that she had confidence in this person as an individual, but more about her general faith in humanity’s ability to do good. ”What can we do,” she gestured to the three of them, ”-to ensure that this never happens again?” She stayed on guard, not taking for granted that they would actually comply with developing a plan to make sure they weren't a problem. Kazura would be able to sense Irina's sincerity in making this request to the other Fullbringer. This, she thought, was useless; hopefully she had been able to communicate her actual desire to keep them out of trouble clearly to the stranger.
Irina took a deep breath, the exhaustion of draining so much reiatsu catching up with her now that she was still. While she gave the Fullbringer a moment to formulate a reply, she asked Kazura ”If we let them out of here, we can put some kind of tracking device on them so I can keep an eye on them, right?” She trusted that this was something her friend either had the capability for already or would be able to whip up, and had deliberately chosen the word “I” in her statement since she felt it was only fair that she took the responsibility for this one herself.

To Kazura, there really hadn't been another option. Either the thief was put to justice or they got away. He was so confused by Irina's statement that he didn't notice the Fullbringer starting to build up energy and transform their hands into one conglomeration of hand. Complete Main Fullbring, a feat not achieved lightly. A feat he hadn't even seen Irina do, though he was sure she was powerful enough to do so. As the white hand with blue eyes roared through its palm, Kazura felt a strange sensation. His manager was flowing her energy through him, through their bond, mixing with his knowledge that was shared, and emitting that knowledge/energy through his body. It was the craziest of feelings, invigorating but revealing. He felt very open and vulnerable, almost ashamed for some reason.
It was an addicting feeling, but it was quickly replaced with numbness and pain in that arm as she poured Electrocution into this Ultimate Hand. The fullbring writhed in agony through the seven second stream which seemed to last much longer as it shuddered and then collapsed, a burnt crust formed along the ridge between the palm and the fingers. The strain of the technique through Kazura's hand was so much worse than if he had been expecting it and prepared for it, so a bit of shock and raw pain emotion would flow into Irina's consciousness. She couldn't see his face behind his helmet, but it was wincing in pain. He really wanted to rub that sore area, but didn't want to let go.
Irina started lecturing the thief, who really hadn't made any attempts at communication yet but had been floored and pinned to the ground, so they were kinda a captive audience to the woman. She had a very motherly like talk at this thief, who scrunched up their face in disgust initially but slowly waned over time as the reality of it all sunk in. Tears started to run down their face as they contemplated the reality of death and potentially worse fates. They didn't seem to like the idea of being tracked, though, and started to thrash in the ice bindings. "I'm pretty sure I could create a GPS tracker with one hand, yeah."
Going along with her idea, which was clearly working, Kazura looked around to see what he could use to make said tracker, when the thief responded with an explosive outburst of reiatsu and rage. Kazura was caught off guard while looking away and didn't notice the Ultimate Hand launching out a shotgun-like spray of teeth out of the palm. "Watch out! With all his athletic might, he pushed Irina away from the blast and let go of her hand. Normally this would be okay, as his armor would have protected him. But he immediately felt severed from the connection they had from their energies entwining and he felt disoriented, lightheaded, dizzy, and worst of all: weak.
All of the protection of his armor was nearly reduced to nothing as the breaking of the link halved his already averaged out energy levels. His spiritual strength immediately dropped to its original state, not being supported by Irina any longer, and his spiritual reserves tanked as they dispersed into the air from no longer having that bond. His armor at its lowest durability it had been at in years, the teeth punctured easily and stabbed him in the right arm, abdomen, and right leg. All down that right side, thankfully avoiding anything majorly vital. "Ugh..." The thief started to use the confusion to run away out the back of the store, and Kazura was in no shape to follow.
He maintained a hold of his consciousness, for now, but he was losing blood quickly and already woozy from the break of the soul dyad link. The stamina drain started to catch up on him too. He hadn't realized how tiring it had been to be harmonized like that for so long. Sure, they were marathon runners and could handle a bit of a workout, but it was like they had been sprinting for nearly a half hour... "Take me anywhere but Tomi... Don't have... an excuse for this one." Tomi the nurse at UE would have a cow if she saw Kazura like this... He needed to go anywhere but there. But where?

Irina hadn't intended for the stranger to actually hear her idea until she'd found a more diplomatic way to present it. And anyway, it was going to be more of a question than a command. But they had heard her "rough draft" idea before she'd had the chance to propose a way for her to give them some accountability without being in each other's way too much. A GPS tracker wasn't really what she'd had in mind, but it made sense that would be the way Kazura interpreted what she'd said. Irina had been envisioning something more like getting alerts if the person used a certain amount of spiritual energy. Basically the "radar" Kazura already had set up for the city. But the thief snapped out of the logical state she'd managed to put them in, and into one of less rational rage instead.
As Irina racked her brains to think of a way to salvage this negotiation-gone-wrong, the giant hand, apparently not dead, opened its mouth, revealing a mouthful of teeth. Like a shark. She held up her sword defensively to be ready for it to approach and try to chomp at her or Kazura, but instead, it shot out the teeth as projectiles. Not like a shark. Before she could quite calculate how to handle those little problems, Kazura shoved her out of the way of the flying teeth, taking the impact himself. Irina's instinct was that the spray of sharp objects wouldn't be a problem for him due to his spiritually fortified armor, but, like her, Kazura had pretty much been zapped when they separated, rendering his armor much less useful than usual.
Feeling incredibly bad that her choices had caused Kazura to get hurt, Irina determined that it would certainly be best to let their opponent run away at this time. Wasn't like she could do much about them at this point. Her job, being the uninjured one, would be to get Kazura somewhere safe. Preferably somewhere safe with medical professionals. Irina was certainly not one of those, but felt confident that this was more of a "hospital" situation than a "clinic" one, and therefore, an excuse for Tomi Sui would not be needed. "Yeah no, you're going to the Emergency Room." Irina would be unwilling to negotiate on that issue. While being equally exhausted, not to mention dizzy, as Kazura, she had the advantage of being uninjured, and therefore would likely have more decision-making power in this case.
"I'm sure you don't enjoy inventing police statements about this stuff any more than I do, but I'm not good with having you bleed out while trying to talk me through giving you stitches." This was obviously not an option that was on the table due to Irina's total lack of medical knowledge, but there was a chance her dry humor wouldn't quite be understood as such. "Ambulance or walking in?" she asked, trying to give Kazura at least a little autonomy with this situation. In the absence of a response one way or the other, she'd go ahead and call the Emergency number for a lift. To get their story straight, Irina processed out loud. "Okay, we were in the store and it was robbed. Things flying everywhere. We definitely tried to flee without doing anything weird." Speaking of "weird", she deactivated her fullbring and tossed her makeshift helmet. She'd wait a moment for Kazura to do the same before moving forward with getting medical attention. "Why were you in a convivence store? Don't you have people for that? Well, you go to normal people places. That's kind of normal."

"Don't think... walking in is... an option right now... so... ambulance?" With that said, Kazura stumbled and slumped against Irina. She was plenty strong enough to hold him up, but his fullbring reverted automatically and he became dead weight against his Manager. The wounds looked pretty bad, but the teeth had dissipated with the retreat of the thief, possibly because they deactivated their own fullbring and caused its projections to fade. For whatever the reason though, it simply looked like Kazura had been stabbed a dozen times with a serrated knife. Easier to explain that way, probably...
Kazura woke up to a steady "beep...... beep...... beep......" He didn't recognize the room layout as his eyes started to focus in on his surroundings. This wasn't Karakura General... oh yeah, that one was still under reconstruction. He groaned and started to sit up. At least, tried to. He found himself restrained to the bed. His strength was still returning, else he'd be able to snap these bands in a heartbeat. At least, that's what he thought. He put pressure on them and found them to be... strong, to say the least.
"Those are... "special" police department grade restraints. Apparently you not only tried to take out your IV and leave, but also managed to catch a doctor in the stomach with a flailing fist. They claim it was flailing and not intentional, but who knows? You were very out of it."
Kazura turned his head to the side that the voice was coming from and saw Yuri from the Karakura Police force in a chair close by. She was one of his few spiritually aware contacts outside of UE, and the only one with the Police. His memory was hazy, but he didn't remember trying to lay out a doctor or anything. He didn't think that was very like himself, unless they deserved it for doing something wrong. After all, he did have a surgeon's level of medical knowledge and expertise. He probably knew as much as these guys did about his treatment needs.
"Hi... Yuri... Irina?"
"Is fine and outside getting a coffee or something. She should be back any moment now. Before she does though, can I get a statement from you?"
"Do I... need a lawyer?"
She chuckled, "No, but a simple, 'I got stabbed by a convenience store robber that I didn't get a good look at' would suffice. At least, that's what Irina said... Is that not the case?"
"On the record, sure.... Off the record... Fullbringer. Got away."
Yuri nodded. She understood. It was her job to handle cases like that, after all. "Thanks for doing what you could. Next time... maybe just call me instead? Ah, who am I kidding. I'd be nothing against someone like that." Kazura frowned and shook his head. "Not nothing... You've got powerful friends... who can kit your men out... within the month. If anyone got video of... weird hand person... It might be necessary in the coming weeks." Kazura was afraid that copycats would get bold and start using their powers for evil having seen that this thief had gotten away. Maybe they'd lead a group of powered criminals, and maybe Kazura would need to equip the police with better tools. His clearing mind started to process a line of new suits and other fun tools that they could use... If only he had paper and a drawing device... And these restraints off...

Some coffee would be good for her, Irina reasoned while walking from her apartment, where she'd changed clothes and fed her cat, to somewhere with breakfast before she'd head back to the hospital. But she usually tried to avoid caffeine, so, feeling conflicted, she went ahead and ordered some green tea to go. That, she thought, had almost negligible caffeine. And it has antioxidants and whatever. Tea would be much healthier. So she ate her food, and had taken about two sips of the tea before deciding that just wasn't going to cut it. She ducked into a coffee shop and ordered a black coffee. Now with a hot drink in each hand, Irina's phone rang. She put the coffee in her right hand between her left wrist and her body, still holding the tea in her left hand, and answered the call.
It was the third time she'd spoken with Nancy in the past day, which was definitely a new record. She'd told Nancy *almost* everything that had happened, including that Kazura had been admitted in the hospital. They'd decided it would be best to keep this information quiet, and Nancy would tell people, if it was necessary, that Kazura was "out of town". It wasn't particularly unusual for him to go off-the-grid every so often anyway. So Nancy was taking care of UE, and that left Irina to take care of...Uzaki, she supposed.
The previous day, the hospital staff, having decided that Kazura was in no mental state to properly consent to leaving against medical advice, had felt overwhelmed with their new patient, to say the least. Though he's been amiable enough about it, he's absolutely refused any treatment once he'd determined that he was plenty stable enough, which was a different opinion than that of the providers who were caring for him. With eyes still closed, and mumbling something about being practically a doctor himself, Kazura had attempted to remove his IV line.
Regrettably, Irina, still feeling pretty zapped after their experiment with their new trick, hadn't been quite fast enough to stop Kazura from whacking his kind doctor who, frankly, was only trying to help, in the abdomen. Irina quietly helped the staff restrain Kazura because it seemed obvious that was the safest option for all parties. Probably partly because he felt bad for his patient, who, to be fair, still had his eyes closed and wasn't even looking at what he was doing, and perhaps partly because wanted to stay on Kazura's good side to avoid being sued by his wealthy patient for going against his wishes, the doctor had assured Irina that it was no problem; it wasn't the first time or wouldn't be the last time this had happened to him. Poor guy. It wasn't a job Irina would ever be interested in.
At that point, they sedated him pretty heavily, and Irina, feeling that the crisis had passed, curled up in a chair and slept there overnight. She didn't feel good about the idea of having her disoriented friend wake up restrained in an unfamiliar place and with no one familiar around. When Yuri arrived, like an angel, she'd offered to sit with him while Irina went to "at least go get a coffee or something. Have you been in that chair all day?" (Yes, she had, so she'd agreed.)
Walking back into the room, Irina smiled warmly when she saw Kazura conscious and talking to Yuri, without flipping out or attempting to break out of there at all. Not particularly one to show outward affection, instead, Irina said "Hey, good to see you're doing better!" and swiped the remote for the hospital bed to crank the angle up to a sitting position. She still felt extremely bad about her decision being the (indirect) cause of Kazura's injury, but would put that concern aside until there was actually time to talk about that.
"Oh thanks, you didn't have to get me anything," Yuri said, assuming, as anyone reasonable would, that one of the two cups Irina had brought was for her. Irina internally panicked. Should she admit that, no, she hadn't actually thought to bring Yuri anything; she'd just bought a second drink for herself when the first didn't turn out to be quite adequate? Or would it be more polite to just give her the tea, which Irina hadn't drank that much volume of, but her germs were still on it nonetheless? "Oh yeah, I got you this, but then I accidentally drank a sip. Thought it was my coffee. Sorry about that. You're still welcome to it if you want it." This slight twisting of the truth of the matter seemed like a best-case scenario for making that scenario the least awkward as possible.
A young nurse with a round face knocked and entered the room, so Yuri said she had what she needed and excused herself, and Irina said "Thanks again." "Hello, I'm Eriko, your nurse. I need to get your vitals, check your stitches for infection, and give you your Heparin shot." She looked a bit nervous, and given that she'd definitely been filled in on how difficult this patient had been the day prior, Irina felt that this response was reasonable. Whether Kazura consented to having his vitals checked or not, Eriko would find that his pulse was 42 via the beeping cardiac monitor that he was already hooked up to. This roughly corresponded to that of a marathon runner, or that of someone who had recently lost a fair amount of blood. She would explain in simple, patient-friendly terms that the doctor would still like to monitor him since his heart rate was low, but since he was feeling "more with it", she could ask the doctor for an order to remove his restraints.

Yuri hadn't yet had a chance to take Kazura up on his offer to equip her officers when Irina arrived, holding two hot cups. As Kazura's mind got back up to speed, he at a moment's glance could tell that one of the cups was steaming a whole lot more than the other, and was holding a much darker liquid inside. That must be the coffee. The other, whatever it was, wasn't as hot, so Irina must have been holding onto it a significant amount of time longer than the coffee. She politely offered the clearer liquid to Yuri saying she had "accidentally" taken a sip of it thinking it was the other drink. Kazura knew Irina pretty well at this point, and was nearly positive she was lying, but said nothing.
The bed started to incline so that Kazura could see more of the room better, which was nice of Irina, but when his nurse came in he raised an eyebrow at her. "I'll take the heparin shot this time, because I'd rather not clots from being strapped to this bed for who knows how long, but it would probably be best to limit that due to being a stab wound victim. If the stitches were, I dunno, inadequate, an extra anticoagulant might not be the best treatment." Kazura mind was getting back to speed, and his speech was no longer truncated or forced. The nurse sighed and took his vitals. He was one of those patients, it seemed.
"The doctor will be right in." She said through gritted teeth. She said nothing more about Kazura's vitals or anything else, just gave him the Heparin and hurried out of the room. That left just Kazura and Irina alone since Yuri had already ducked out. He just gave her a little smile and what could be called an attempted thumbs up, though his arms were still pinned to the bed. Kazura had a split thought that could only be considered mean, as he could have called Irina out on her lie, but then again, he lied... often. So he bit his tongue figuratively and just addressed her politely.
"Thanks for getting me here. I'm sure they did their best keeping me alive. Can you get them to let me go now? I'm fine, really."

"Why would you think I have more pull when it comes to getting you out of here than you do?" Irina asked, somewhat amused, and took a sip from her cup. "Frankly, I was concerned that you would have broken yourself out of those restraints hours ago. I wasn't going to be able to come up with a good explanation for that." Traffic had gotten heavy since Kazura had become conscious, so as soon as he'd had time to respond, they'd hear a knock followed by a doctor. "Hello, I'm Doctor Lee, the staff psychiatrist. I hear you've been unconscious, so I just need to check on your mental status. Do you know what year it is? Who is the current prime minister?" Irina would attempt to make herself busy, playing with her phone, and try not to react to whatever Kazura said next. It would definitely be best though, she noted, for him to just let the doctor do his job. This was the man in charge of determining whether it would be appropriate to remove the restraints, after all.
Post by Kazura Uzaki on Mar 19, 2022 19:48:56 GMT -5
Kazura resisted every urge to roll his eyes at Irina for her comment on being surprised that he didn't break out of his restraints earlier. He might have been able to use Soul Command on them, but would have needed to be fully conscious more than five minutes ago to have tried that. When the psychiatrist came in, though, and asked him simple questions, he couldn't resist and rolled his eyes. "I'm fine, really. It's 2022 and the Prime Minister is Fumio Kishida. Can I go now?" He knew he needed to play nice with the hospital staff, but he was getting antsy and frustrated. He wouldn't lash out at them in this state, but he wasn't going to be a very patient patient.
Post by Irina Davayte on Mar 19, 2022 20:19:49 GMT -5
Dr. Lee, who presumably had seen plenty of patients with even less patience, was unfazed. He nodded curtly, checked off a box under a list that said "oriented to: time", and carried on with the questionnaire on his clipboard without addressing the question he'd been asked. "What is your name, and who is this?" he'd ask, gesturing to Irina. Whatever response Kazura gave, he'd make a mark on the paper under the part of the list that said "person" and continue. "And where are we now? What city is this?" Regardless of whether he passed the mental status examination or not, since Kazura was clearly not acting like a threat to himself or others, the doctor would inform him that he would put in an order for the nurse to remove his restraints and that the cardiologist would need to clear him before being discharged, then he'd leave.
Since the nurse was with another patient, it would be another ten minutes before she located the tool to unlock the restraints and reappeared. In the meantime, Irina would say "I know it's not the time nor place right this second, but I do want to talk about what happened as soon as we get a chance. And-" she hesitated, making sure to choose her words carefully enough to say the important things now, "I'm sorry for my part in you getting injured. And I'm glad you're okay. You mean a lot to me." This was Irina's absolute maximum level of mushiness, and she would expect to move on before any more occurred.

The doctor continued to ask questions without answering his patient's question. He just made a check mark motion with his hand on the page and continued without skipping a beat. "I'm Kazura and this is Irina..." Kazura paused for a moment. Would the doctor care how she was related to him? Was he expected to give a qualifier to who she was, and if so, what was he expected to say? What would she say in this situation? Knowing her, she'd probably lie and say she was his cousin to try to avoid an awkward situation, but he decided to leave it at that and just give up on a qualifier. Coworker was too informal, Manager made it sound like he was her subordinate (which his pride just couldn't allow him to do), and Friend could be taken the wrong way too easily. Anything else would be just as bad or a lie.
The doctor didn't seem to care and moved on to a harder question. Where were they? It wasn't Karakura, for sure, given Karakura General was still under reconstruction, so he could only assume they were in Tokyo at the moment, the closest big hospital for level 2 trauma like he assumed he had suffered. He had been unconscious for all of it. He surveyed the room with his eyes as best he could given he was strapped to a bed, but he did manage to catch a poster on the wall for some health condition that was labelled at the bottom with "Tokyo Advanced Hospital" and responded to the question. "We're at the hospital, in a recovery room, in Tokyo."
Satisfied with his responses, Doctor Lee left after confirming he'd get the restraints taken off by his nurse when she was available. It was taking longer than Kazura wanted to after a even just a few minutes of waiting, but Irina distracted him with an uncharacteristic display of verbal affection. How was he supposed to respond to that? He was her boss, but also her friend. And they had bonded on a much deeper way as they had been able to connect to each other's memories, emotions, and spiritual power. Kazura just turned his head away from the woman and blushed a little, slightly flustered. "N-no worries, it's alright. Same to you."

Incidentally, Irina had already introduced herself to the medical staff. ("We're friends. And I work at his company." seemed to cover anything relevant, she figured, and that had done the trick. She was permitted to stick around, but not particularly given any medical information beyond the obvious.) The doctor wasn't particularly interested in defining this relationship and was mostly checking to see if Kazura identified anything wildly incorrectly ("that's my grandma" or the like), so he moved on without comment.
In response to having ruffled Kazura, Irina smirked and casually teased "Don't make it weird." As the person who'd been conscious throughout this whole endeavor, she offered her opinion on the question the shrink had decided not to answer. "Anyway, they already CTd your head and whatever, so I'm thinking they'll let you out of here soon." Next, the nurse came in with a ring full of keys. "Good afternoon, I'm Eriko, your nurse," she said as if they hadn't just met half an hour ago. "I just need to figure out which of these keys unlocks these restraints." After about three minutes (Irina checked) of fiddling with different keys, the nurse managed to secure the appropriate one and, with minimal struggle, free Kazura. Clearly, she didn't use this type of restraints regularly.
After what felt like the world's slowest parade of medical professionals but was actually just a group medical students, the cardiologist who was their supervisor, then the nurse reading his discharge instructions in an almost-impressively monotone voice, Kazura was released with instructions on keeping his wounds clean, signs of infection, and a whole slew of cardiology symptoms that would warrant a return to the hospital.

After too long of waiting for the nurse to come in to unlock the restraints, and too long for her to find the right dang key for them, Kazura was a little restless. He didn't say anything, for he knew Irina would object, but looked at the nurse with mild distaste and annoyance. She seemed to pay him no attention and continued to randomly try keys until the restraints were off. Rubbing his wrists and chest, he simply bit his tongue (metaphorically) and waited for the nurse to leave. He didn't have any chance to address the awkwardness between him and Irina before there was a parade of students, a cardiologist, and a discharge nurse that came in and out of the room.
Finally free to leave, Kazura got up from the bed feeling just fine with no issues holding his weight up. Which was good, because if he had even stumbled he was sure to be pushed right back into that bed or, worse, be snarked at by Irina. He took a look at the dressings around his wounds and determined them to be satisfactory to his liking, so he didn't change them immediately. Making his way out of the hospital, hopefully with Irina following, he dialed for a discreet cab pickup so the paparazzi wouldn't be overwhelming.
He trusted Irina had kept his stay here discreet anyways, so there shouldn't be any issues getting out and getting back to Karakura Town for another parade, this time of board members and the like needing his attention. Unless Nancy had been able to handle everything without him... That would be pleasant, for a change, if he wasn't bombarded with needs. Settling into the cab seat, Kazura laid his head back and slightly turned towards his manager. "Thanks. Sorry for making it 'weird' back there."
