Thread Title: Hunted to Prove a Point Participants: Shokan Kawada vs Rafael World: Soul Society Death Setting: Non Death Enabled Rating: R Location: In the wilderness of Soul Society located in a savanna like area with tan short grass. This area is covered in like boulders that range from a few feet in size to ten feet squared. There are also small pine trees reaching ten feet in height. Special Conditions: N/A Circumstances: Rafael is out hunting in the dead of night when most creatures sleep. As he hunts throughout the area a shinigami finds him and as it turns out he has arrived to kill him after hearing about how he had supposedly defeated a member of the Kuchiki family.
Moving throughout the short grassy area the large panther Beast ran at a meager pace looking for something that he would be able to collect and bring back to his friends. What he had been able to collect and devour for himself in the past had been things of great size that weren't terribly fast such as hippos or moose. At the moment he wasn't in a jungle or forest so the chances of actually being able to find one of those two animals at the moment were just not possible. He knew that there were animals in the area, but that most of them were going to be very fast and he'd have a difficult time catching them after they'd be able to hear him coming.
As he continued to run Rafael realized that everything in this area was quite strange. He hadn't seen any animals such as birds or deer suddenly appear as he ran which was something that he had experienced when he had first started trying to get food. That had to mean that for some reason there were no animals in the area already. Which meant that something else had already caused them to leave this area. So upon realizing it he would stop and look around. For in the distance even in the darkness of the night thanks to the moon light Rafael was able to see what looked like a human a few hundred yards away. Whoever this was he had been waiting for him. This didn't feel right and more than likely wasn't going to be.

Shōkan had been sent from the Soul Society for one purpose, and one purpose only. To prove a point. Some beast had defeated a Shinigami, one of the Kuchiki Clan, and well, the Seiretei had taken exception to that. Hence, Shōkan, possibly the strongest unseated officer, had been sent to teach this beast lesson. Don't mess with the Shinigami, or we will retaliate. To be perfectly honest, this was perhaps a bit overkill, so Shōkan was reluctant to use his full ability unless absolutely forced to.
He also wasn't going to go about searching for someone, no, he'd just wait here in the clearing it was known to visit. He would wait, and when this 'panther man' (the only description he had been given) appeared, he would fight him, and show him the error of his ways. To be perfectly honest, Shōkan wasn't looking forward to this, he detested picking on the weak, and judging from the fact it was some sort of creature, and certainly not a hollow, Shōkan couldn't even be sure of it's intelligence, or an malevolent motivations.
When, the panther appeared, Shōkan would be standing, straight backed, his left hand settled on the handle of his zanpakuto. When he saw Rafael he would say simply, "Come". Looking at him with a challenge in his eyes. Shōkan expected a physical assault, so he would use his considerable skill in hakuda to defend himself, as well as his incredible physical prowess. Fighting defensively, with his bare hands, blocking straight on. Lowering his speed to give the panther a chance. [275]
Shōkan wouldn't move his feet at all unless he had to. When the panther attacked, he would find the massive strength contained within Shōkan's muscles, iron unyielding blocks. This wasn't going to be a fight, but more of a demonstration. Shōkan would take his time, detailing exactly how he was superior in every way, before unleashing his full might, and defeating him. This should prove to the beast man of the Soul Society's might, and hopefully deter him from Shinigami in the future. Shōkan honestly didn't want to hurt him too badly.
This human was different than the others that Rafael had come across since his second life had started in this different world. The first one had been a female with long red hair that had been walking along a path in the wilderness and for whatever reason Rafael had felt a surge of rage towards her and told her to go the other way not wanting more of the wilderness that he sought to see in it's most pure state corrupted by the humans who changed everything to fit their own purposes. That human was to this day still the most powerful entity that Rafael had come across as she had been able to send him flying in a single blow.
He had been knocked unconcious soemthing that at least in his own opinion wasn't an easy feat. So when he had awoken on the side of the road barely alive with broken bones and ruptured organs it had been a sign that some entities in this new life possessed strength that were unthinkable. From that moment onward Rafael hadn't just been on a journey to see everything for the first time, but wished to obtain his own vast strength with his new life. He knew he was now much stronger than he had ever been as a human so perhaps he could become even stronger than that red head.
The second human that he had come across was another female and he hadn't actually found her, but the other way around. It had been a few days prior to actually meeting Zadora that it had happened. He had found a beautiful grassy area between a few mountains and while he had been enjoying it this human had found him and told him that he was to close to some village or something and that the villagers wanted him to leave. Rafael wasn't going to allow anyone to treat him like his father had and because of that the two of them had faced off against one another.
This female was much clloser to himself in terms of combat prowess able to react to his speed and his style of Muay Boran. She possessed an ability that simply seemed supernatural and impossible and if he hadn't seen it and suffered it's effects himself he would still not believe it. This female had been able to fire lightning from her very body. It had been a close fought battle that had ended with Rafael suffering extensive damage across his body yet the female suffering extensive internal damage to his chest cavity. Knowing that one of them at that point was going to kill the other Rafael had left of his own free will not wishing to chance the end of his blessing.
Now it seemed that another human was here and when he had spoken the singular word and declaration of combat Rafael knew that he was here just like the last to either make him a second class entity like many Beasts were treated or to simply kill him. So Rafael had a choice either fight this human here and try his best to defeat him as quickly as possible. That or he would have to swallow his pride and try to get away and hope that this human couldn't catch him. He didn't feel comfortable going back to the camp simply because he could lead this human back to Zadora and Lolth.
So walking towards the human Rafael would eventually reach him after about a minute and when he reached him Rafael would get right in the face of this man that if it weren't for his size would actually be rather big. Rafael was massive though and because of that this shinigami would actually have to tilt his head backwards to look up and see Rafael's face as he looked down at him. "I'm not leaving or going to be pushed around by anymore of you." Rafael wasn't normally so reckless, but his rage was forcing him to make a point. After he said what he did though that was when he made his move.
As fast as he could Rafael's left arm would extend forwards in an attempt to strike this human in his right shoulder at the connecting point between it and his arm. Rafael knew that if he gave this human a chance to counter he might be inviting defeat. So he wasn't going to let up at all and give this everything he could. As his left arm moved forwards his right moved upwards in a defensive position to defend his chest and face from any physical counter. His right knee though was risen in a quick yet stealthy attempt to strike the human in his lower stomach. Rafael wasn't sure how fast this guy was or strong, but if neither of his first two attacks worked he was already planning on slamming his forehead downwards into the face of this human.

As the panther approached, Shōkan was actually a bit surprised by his sheer height, Shōkan was a tall man, but Rafael was even taller. This forced him to look up at the panther as he spoke. With the beasts declaration, Shōkan felt a bit of conglict within himself. He didn't like the treatment Shinigami gave other races. Most of them were made BY them in the first place, Shōkan was of the opinion that meant that they should take responsibility for them. Most other Shinigami thought that this meant they had the right to decide whether they had the right to live.
Regardless, he had a job to do. As the panther struck, Shōkan saw everything with his superhuman reactions. The panther was fast, but compared to the speed Shōkan could move at he was slow. Normally, Shōkan would just strike immediately, not allowing him to attack at all, stopping him in his tracks. But... These weren't normal circumstances, Shōkan was here to demonstrate something to Rafael. As much as he detested it, Shōkan was honorbound to do this in excruciating detail. When the panther struck with his fists, Shōkan caught it with an iron grip, when he attempted to knee him, Shōkan dropped his other arm down in a simple block, like an iron bar that would stop Rafael in his tracks.
Shōkan was actually somewhat surprised at the headbutt however, he wasn't expecting it. The only reason he saw it coming was because he had been staring Rafael in the eyes the entire time, with a steely look in his gaze. As the strike came, Shōkan let it, instead of responding in kind, he simply tilted his head down. So that instead of the panther striking his hard unyielding forhead into the soft cartilage of Shōkan's nose, the opposite occurred, the crown of Shōkan's head would meet Rafael's face.
After this occurred, Shōkan would release his iron grip on the beastmans hand, before placing his right hand on Rafael's chest, and pushing with a tiny motion, with all of his restrained force behind it. Since it was made with such little movement, it would undoubtedly refrain from injuring the beast like it definitely could. Instead, it would at most bruise, and throw the beast back a meter or two. There was just no accounting with the sheer force of Shōkan's raw might, his speed, his power.
The situation was unfortunate, but Shōkan was forced to illustrate the difference between their might. And while the beast man definitely had supernatural strength and speed, Shōkan was faster, and strong. Of course, the true power of a Shinigami, release, was lost to him, and that pained Shōkan every day, his physical might was more than enough to make up for it. Shōkan planned on letting the panther throw everything he had at him, beating him at his own game, before unleashing his true might, and illustrating to Rafael... The difference between heaven and earth.
Looking at the beast man once more, Shōkan spoke again, "If that's all you have, you can never hope to reach me."

Rafael had grown accustomed to facing off against entities that were able to handle his newly acquired superhuman physical capabilities and in truth he hadn't yet fought against an individual that was easy to overwhelm or defeat by using his martial arts alone. So when he had attacked choosing to try and strike first by delivering a jab with his left hand it wasn't surprising that the human in front of him was fast or experienced enough that he was able to quickly grab a hold of his hand and stop it from moving to finish the strike. What was surprising was the fact that Rafael could feel the strength of this human and knew that while it wasn't as strong as the insects he was much stronger than himself.
The knee with his right leg was brought upwards and just like his left hand was defended against with the left arm of this human. Rafael could feel the counter strength behind the arm that had blocked his knee and knew that this human was much stronger than him so he would have to use different methods besides pure strength in order to defeat him. He would have to rely on his experience and even have to try and attack in rapid succession and hope one would get through either as a surprise of just excessive pressure.
The next attack while it would normally have been enough this time it wasn't as Rafael delivered a strong thrust of his head forwards. What happened was something that revealed to Rafael that this human wasn't just stronger than him, but even faster as well. He knew that he wasn't all that fast simply due to the difference between him and Zadora. This human wasn't anywhere near as fast as Zadora, but was still much faster than himself. So as his face bashed against the crown of this human's head. He felt an intense pain as his nose was broken and blood began to flow from it.
What happened in the next moment was something that hopefully the human wouldn't be prepared for. Rafael recoiled from the damage to his face his right knee touching the ground and just as the human pushed his hand off against Rafael's chest. The large Beast felt his hand and knew that he'd have to execute the next stage of his attack much faster than he had originally intended. The long black tail that normally wasn't ever used in combat due to Rafael's inexperience in using it suddenly was unwrapped from around his waist and would wrap around this human's right thigh.
Rafael was being pushed backwards with force superior than his own and yet now he had a grip on this human who would also feel the pull of not only Rafael's strength, but his own that he had just used to propel Rafael backwards. It would hopefully be enough to pull this human forward and take him off his balance. It would be in that moment that Rafael's left foot would push into the grass ceasing his backwards movement. In that moment he utilized Muay Boran the best he could positioning his right knee so that the human would smash into it with his stomach. While his right elbow was brought upwards in an uppercut manner. "All the same. No longer will Beasts be pushed around by humans."

After being able to predict and counter everything the panther had used thus far, Shōkan wasn't expecting the tail, perfhaps he had grown a bit over confident. When the tail wrapped around his leg, Shōkan's own force was used against him, and he lost his balance. Suddenly, Shōkan was thankful he hadn't used a full force punch, as then he would have been sent flying along with the panther man. As it was, his sense of balance was lost as he fell forward. Directly into his enemies maneuver.
Seeing the knee he was about to run into, Shōkan used it. He caught himself against it with his left arm, ending his forward momentum, and that's when he saw the strike coming out of the corner of his eye. Even though he was faster than the panther, he had seen the attack coming too slowly, and wouldn't be able to react in time to negate it, so instead, he shifted his head down and the opposing shoulder up, so as to take the blow on his muscle bound arm and shoulder, as opposed to his face.
That would have been rather embarrassing. As it was, the blow had quite a bit of power behind it, and in Shōkan's diminished state, he wasn't able to cokmpletely shrug it off like normal. Thankfully, considering how tough his body was, it would only hurt and bruise, instead of shattering his entire shoulder like it would most people. Because he had nothing to anchor himself with, the blow threw him back several feet through space, before he caught himself and stood to his feet.
Looking at Rafael, Shōkan suppressed a surge of anger, not at the panther, but at himself, for allowing him to do it in the first place. Shōkan spoke, "Nice use of ingenuity, is that all you have to offer though? Because if so..." He trailed off, his sentence leading to an obvious conclusion. "Allow me." Shōkan quickly moved with a dash crossing the short distance between them, using a quick, 1-2 hakuda combo, punching at Rafels face and shoulder respectively. If Rafael chose to block, they would still suit his purpose, putting the panther on the defense.
Directly after the jabs, Shōkan struck with a powerful roundhouse kick to Rafaels left side, its power considerably more than the aforemention quick jabs, which gave up a lot of power for speed. Hopefully this would knock Rafael off of his feet. Throughout this however, Shōkan kept himself on guard for retaliation or dodges, preparing himself to block, or adjust his movements to compensate. He also kept an eye on the creatures nimble tail. He would not be caught by the same trick twice.
[OC: Count Shōkan's speed at 275, that's what he's currently moving at.]
"I will only have solace once my clan has been avenged. Only find redemtion once they've risen from the ashes!" -Shōkan Kawada - Dossier
Everything played out different than one would hope that was a lesson that Rafael had learned about combat while he had first been taught the martial art style of Muay Boran. His teacher had been sure to instruct in him the knowledge that no matter how strong or fast he managed to make himself there was always a chance that whatever he planned on doing in a battle it wasn't going to go exactly the way he planned it and true strength didn't come from trying to make every action land the way that he wished, but being able to react and turn every moment into one that fell in his favor.
So when his untrained tail was able to wrap around the right thigh of his current opponent and his plan to actually use the force that had just been used against him actually managed to work Rafael was somewhat surprised. He didn't have time to appreciate the success of his plan though as his follow ups were delivered against his opponent. His right knee was brought upwards in the hopes that this man would bash himself against it, but Rafael could easily see his left hand move and grab a hold of his knee to stop himself just in time to prevent the blow from actually landing and dealing any significant damage.
The elbow that Rafael delivered at virtually the same time as his knee was the attack that he had really been trying to land from the moment this second exchange of blows had started. The distance between them was so small at the moment that evasion was virtually impossible. So when he saw how fast this man was able to move his head out of the way and instead sacrifice his right shoulder to the blow Rafael knew that his opponent was indeed much faster than himself and perhaps just as experienced or skilled in close combat. This battle hadn't been going on for more than a few seconds, but Rafael was studying everything about his opponent and so far it seemed he was outclassed once again.
Rafael knew that he possessed strength far beyond a normal human now. He had been keeping up with his training and knew that he was strong enough to actually punch through the bark of a tree and into the flesh of its body yet what he felt when his elbow made contact with this human's shoulder was different. There hadn't been as much give as he had assumed there would be and he knew for a fact that his elbow hadn't been able to break the shoulder bone which meant this human was indeed very dangerous and powerful. Rafael would have to use everything he had to win starting very soon.
His elbow had carried with it enough power that the man had been pushed back a few feet and Rafael still trying to fight off the force of the push that this human had used against him flipped backwards off of his left foot which had been keeping him on the ground. If his opponent looked at where he had been standing it would be easy to see that Rafael had used all his strength to keep himself from moving in that last exchange as there was in indent in the grass the size of his foot. Rafael and this man were now roughly ten feet apart from one another once more and both were starring the other down looking to claim victory from the other.
His long tail wrapped around his waist once again mimicking the appearance of a belt that couldn't actually be seen easily unless one was actively looking for it. As he stood thinking about everything that this human had displayed in the battle so far and trying to come up with a plan to eventually claim victory this human ran his mouth. It was obvious that he was surprised Rafael was able to even get this far, but this was as far as he was going to allow him to reach. Rafael could feel a wave of rage building up and starting to wash over his other emotions at the sheer arrogance of this human. He had to stay calm though and use everything he had to emerge victorious.
So as this human suddenly stopped talking and ran towards him Rafael felt he could no longer risk it. He had to use his power the ability that only recently had surfaced and in truth he didn't have all that much experience at using yet. Instantly the grey of his eyes that could easily be mistaken as blindness became a bright yet dark purple. His Yaseishin was now active and in the moment or two that it took this human to reach Rafael the giant panther had already activated the technique that he felt was the only one really suitable for combat he currently possessed. He could see and predict what this man was going to do and as his jabs were delivered Rafael decided what he had to do.
Rafael chose to shove his shoulder forwards just prior to the impact of this humans jab making both of their strengths collide yet knowing that he was the weaker of them. His side would be pushed backwards slightly yet this human would be able to tell just like Rafael had that his bones weren't broken. His head was a different story as Rafael leaned his head backwards at almost the last second possible causing the jab to reach it's limited range due to the height difference between the both of them. Rafael was significantly taller than this human who had to attack upwards in order to try and hit his face. So by leaning backwards Rafael prevented his face from being hit.
In the moment that followed Rafael saw the spin of the human as he delivered what could only be a roundhouse kick. Instead of rushing him and throwing him to the ground like many styles or even just normal combatants would have done Rafael chose something different. Turning to face the kick that was coming right towards him Rafael braced himself with his left foot once again pressing into the ground. As the leg of the man was nearing him Rafael would raise his left arm in an attempt to not only take the blow which would cause a significant amount of pain that Rafael would fight through, but also to lift the leg upwards off of the ground and take this human off his balance once again.
Afterwards as fast as he could Rafael would raise his right knee once again while lowering his right elbow. Mimicking the actions of a pincer his knee would strike behind and below the knee of the right leg of his opponent while his elbow would strike the front and above the knee at the same time. The damage would be localized to his opponent's knee region and use of that leg would now not only be much more difficult, but should cause him a fair amount of pain. Still though Rafael couldn't manage to break his bones which was a problem.
He couldn't give this human the chance to use his arms or else he was asking for him to just counter so he had to do something once again he wasn't all that accustomed to doing yet. He knew that his opponent could react fast and in the moment that followed his strike if it was successful this guy was going to cause just as much if not more harm to him than he had just delivered onto him. So he had to do something to stop that from happening. He could only think of one thing off the top of his head. Right as his attacks to the knee were delivered Rafael's tail would unwrap slightly and smack the human in his face with all of Rafael's might just in the hopes that it would blind him for a moment.
In that single moment that this guy wouldn't be able to see Rafael would pick him up by his leg and spin on his left foot in order to throw him to the ground a few feet away. Rafael would keep his eyes on him even with his true power revealed knowing that if he let his guard down he was welcoming defeat with open arms. He couldn't give this guy any chances for success he just couldn't. He knew why his bones weren't breaking the problem and question on Rafael's mind at the moment though was simply why weren't his opponent's bones breaking? "Beasts have more to offer than you humans ever anticipate. LEAVE!"
{Technique for your Reference}Tenacious Ossein: Perhaps the most combat oriented technique in Rafael's arsenal while still remaining defensive in purpose. This technique sends the parathyroid glands into a intense state of work creating an abundance of calcium into Rafael that is then absorbed throughout his bones immediately resulting in his bones durability increasing to the point that the durability is determined by his Offensive Stat. This effectively makes his bones points in his body that have the highest level of durability making them useful tools against the many weapons of the other races. This enhanced durability lasts for 3 posts. Costs 100 reiatsu.

Shōkan was trapped by the panthers move to grab his leg, and as the beast man moved to disable him, Shōkan was required to act quickly. Fortunately, his ability as a martial artist helped him ini this regard. Grabbing an opponents limb in a kick such as this, was very common, as such, Shōkan had of course trained in ways to evade in in the shinigami art of hakuda. Unfortunately, the panther had lifted him slightly off of the ground, giving him nothing to station himself with, so that cut Shōkan's options down severely.
Shōkan did the only thing he really could, kicking his legs in a scissoring motion, using his superior strength to break Rafael's grip. Other than that, there wasn't much he could do in midair like that, so Rafael's knee and elbow still landed, but instead of the joint of his knee, it landed on his fleshy thigh, due to the change in positioning. Shōkan grunted in pain, that hurt. He could only imagine what it would do to a normal person, with his immense muscle power and density, the damage was decrease, but it would still leave a nasty bruise on his leg.
Taking the initiative while he had it, Shōkan laid a hand on the ground almost as Rafael's blow landed, using that to twist his body in a kick with his other leg, to hit the side of Rafael's head. Due to his position, and lack of ability to build up power in the kick, it wouldn't be quite as strong as it could be, but with how powerful he was, it would stil pack quite the punch. He excecuted this kick with all of the speed he could muster in this state of holding back as he was.
This put a bit of strain on his body, but seeing as it was just a single movement, it shouldn't affect him too much. Using the force that kicking off of the beastmans head, as well as his hand on the ground, Shōkan tossed himself to his feet, and turned to what would, hopefully, be the rattled beastman on the ground. This beast was certainly more skilled than he would have given him credit for, so that he actually posed a bit of a challenge. Even though this was Shōkan holding back, it was still impressive.
Not many could handle the sheer power and speed he could muster if he chose to. "I will admit, you have some level of skill, your fighting style is quite savage. But My skill in my own martial art is just as deadly. And you will never be able to bridge the sheer gap in our power." He shifted his weight into a stance of readiness. "I will show you the difference between us, the difference between you... And a true shinigami." Shōkan chuckled darkly, sardonically to himself. As if he was a true shinigami, without a release of any sort...
Despite that however, Shōkan did have his own abilities to even the playing field, perhaps it was time he showed them... "I will tell you this, shinigami have several tiers of power, of which, I am the lowest, not even a seated officer. Any shinigami you meet above my level, will have an entire branch of power above this, a release, called a shikai. You cannot even defeat an unreleased shinigami, much less myself." His eyes took a grim cast, "I may not have a release, but I do have another level of power... Are you brave enough to face it panther?"

The actions of both entities involved in this battle right now were swift and executed within mere moments as they both tried to harm the other in order to claim victory over the other and prove just who was the strongest. Neither were even just fighting to prove that they themselves were stronger, but it was turning into a battle to prove which race was strong. Whether it be the Beasts of the wilderness or the Shinigami of Soul Society. Only time was going to be the final decision in who claimed victory.
The massive panther that had fought off against many entities in the spiritual world was holding his own much better than the powerful white haired Shinigami expected him to against him. Rafael's execution of his tail once again proved to be a very valuable addition to his other appendages. He was starting to get the hang of using it thus causing his martial art style of Muay Boran to evolve even further. It was becoming more than just the nine weapon style. Eventually with the master of his tail as an appendage it would become something new known as the ten weapon style that would eventually bring all who oppose him to their knees.
Rafael was doing all he could to try and inflict damage upon this human that would weaken his overall ability to continue fighting. It was a different method of using Muay Boran that normally wasn't meant for the brutal martial arts style. Normally it was used to simply defeat an opponent as fast as possible maximizing damage inflicted upon them using the nine weapons of the body. Rafael knew that this guy wasn't a slouch and if he went in completely and focused only on offense he'd open himself up to a counter and possibly lose at that very moment.
As he pulled him off balance once again Rafael's planned attack went through, but not before his tail was knocked away from his foe. He no longer had a definite hold of him beyond the grip he had on his leg. Rafael could already feel the pain in his side after taking that kick, but as he delivered the upwards knee and the downwards elbow onto his thigh he believed it was worth it as he felt the flesh of this man's body give way to his might. He could still feel the resistance that his muscle held, but it still gave enough that he knew internal damage had indeed been inflicted.
In the next moment Rafael felt a sharp pain in the side of his head as the foot of his foe struck the left side of his face just above his jaw yet below his forehead. He wasn't strong enough to keep on his feet as he felt his body being sent through the air a few feet and then crashing to the ground. The grass was torn apart by Rafael's massive body, but the large panther didn't stay down for more than a moment as he quickly got back onto his feet by placing his paws onto the ground and then bending backwards to execute a flip and land facing his foe who was now roughly ten meters away.
This foe would now be able to see just what type of power Rafael possessed as the fur and flesh that was torn apart by the last blow on the side of his face suddenly began to heal at a rapid rate the flesh healing itself right before his eyes as the fur regrew. Rafael could feel the sensation as his the flesh was being torn right off of his face and all of his fur was being pulled out. If it wasn't for his ability to endure pain that he had acquired while still human thanks to the constant beatings from his father such an ability would be impossible to endure.
Instead of rushing him while he had the chance his opponent felt the need to speak once again now commenting that he realized Rafael's ability to fight, but that his own ability in martial arts was simply superior in his opinion. He simply continued on about how there was a massive gap in the power that they both possessed and Rafael began to get even angrier at the sheer arogance of this man. He man got back into a fighting stance and then he spoke a phrase that Rafael didn't quite understand. He planned on showing him the difference between a Beast and a Shinigami. What's a Shinigami?
The man laughed and Rafael began to think of what he could do to wipe that arrogant smile from his face when he knew he wasn't lying about being faster and stronger than him. He had to continue weakening his opponents body slowly him down and inflicting damage until the difference between them wouldn't matter. The only problem was that the more and more he did this type of combat method the easier and easier it was going to be to tell and counter. So he had to come up with some way that he could finish this guy off of inflict enough damage that he would obtain the advantage.
As Rafael stood his eyes watching every small change in the stance of his foe awaiting an attack he simply continued to speak. It seemed that whatever a Shinigami happened to be he was one of them which meant that the other two humans that he had encountered the red haired monster and the dark haired one had to also be Shinigami. It seemed that this guy liked to run his mouth and was likely trying to destroy any hope Rafael had of emerging victorious as he told him that he was indeed the lowest tier of power out of Shinigami and that those above him possessed something called a release by the name of Shikai. Again with the arrogance that Rafael had only handled by focusing on action and not allowing his mind to wonder.
"Little words from a little man. Come and accept defeat human." Rafael had been in his Muay Boran stance since getting back on his feet with his left leg now forward in front and his right arm forwards mirroring it. His right leg was backwards supporting his body weight while his right hand was held upwards in a vertical manner close to his face in order to protect it in almost any combat situation. His skull had taken quite a bit of damage as had his rib cage. He could tell from the pain he was feeling in those location that the bones were most likely fractured and due to lack of experience and investigation he didn't actually know if the power he possessed would heal them.
He did know that the area on his face was being healed rather quickly and the internal damage around his ribs were as well mainly from the pain that he was under as his body quickly healed them. Pain wasn't a new thing to Rafael while he didn't really enjoy it like some people he didn't shy away from it or fear it like the majority. It had been something he always knew growing up under an abusive father. He had learned very young that he was always going to be in pain and that if anything else it was there to remind him. If you feel pain you're not dead yet. So he would await whatever type of attack this man was going to deliver and he'd return it ten fold until finally he emerged victorious.
