When Shōkan stepped through the Senkaimon, he was expecting hollows, but he wasn't expecting this. Hollows littered the city, traveling in bands. Most of them were of the absolute lowest lvel, but still, there shouldn't be this many hollows in the human world. Looking around, he could see that they were concentrated near the so called Superdome. Entering and leaving the massive building constantly.
The entire area was trashed. some buildings were demolished, while others were simply rundown. Several fires could be seen in the distance, and the entire place reeked. This place was far, far worse off than it should be, and if Shōkan wasn't much, much, stronger than any unseated officer had a right to be, he might've asked the team leader to send for more reinforcements, but as it was, Shōkan didn't anticipate any real difficulties.
He looked over at the team leader, Ryo. The man seemed competent at least, with a calm and analyzing outlook. Hopefully there wouldn't be too much friction. Shōkan would follow his orders, as long as they made sense. He wasn't running to his death because of some mid-ranked seated officer. In all, his picture of the man was still mostly undrawn, and would come in time, but for the moment, he was slightly optimistic.
Cracking his neck as he continued to survey the land, Shōkan decided to wait for Ryo to comment, and perhaps give orders before he did anything, best to wait and see. It didn't look like any humans were in the city at all, most of them hving evacuated, and the others... Shōkan looked at the hollows rampaging through the city, were probably gone as well. 'This ought to be interesting' Shōkan thought to himself.

A rare occurrence these days for Ryo; through a hell butterfly, he was informed he was to lead a mission to the united states with a man called Shōkan Kawada, a unseated member of the notorious squad 11, a squad of melee focused brutes and commonly were filled with some of the most unstable members, being beaten out only by squad 12. He said, looking a bit fed up as he had just gotten to a good bit in his novel, but he couldn't ignore orders, so he set down his novel and took his soul candy, ejecting from his gigai into his shinigami form.
Then, drawing his zanpakuto, opened up a senkaimon that would take him straight to the location he was given by the higher ups. With the hell butterfly around, the journey was peaceful and uneventful and stepped out as the other member of the team arrived and he was surprised by his more noble, sophisticated appearance; bright white hair, similar to his own. Observing around, he saw the sky was cloudy and the hollows rampaging around the city, yet there didn't seem to be any humans left around to eat, so the bigger question was why they were still around. He looked to the man he presumed was Shōkan Kawada.
"You're mister Kawada, yes? I'm sure you're aware of the orders from the soul society, but we should not be hasty in our approach. Right now, our main priority will be containment of the area; we cannot let the hollows leave the city and spread out where more human lives are in danger. Once we do that, we'll need to regroup and gather information about why all these hollows are collected here. Is there anything you wish to add, Kawada-san?" Ryo asked the man, explaining his thoughts on the situation and a general plan. He was open to discuss ideas with Shōkan. His main concern was that the hollows would leave the area and seek out more humans to feed on and with this many around, he wouldn't be surprised if a menos grande was to appear at some point. Then, once the city's borders were secured, finding out why they were all gathered here was important, especially if they destroy whatever it was they find that the hollows were protecting, then dealing with the remaining hollows would be a lot simpler in the grand scale of things.

Shōkan turned to respond to his fellow Shinigami, "Yes, my name is Shōkan Kawada, 6th seat." He nodded to him, "As far as containment goes, well frankly, it's impossible, for only the two of us, we can't be everywhere at once. Secondly, most of the humans for around 50 miles have evacuated due to the storm coming our way, I hear they happen in this area from time to time." Shōkan looked around at the dark clouds.
"In my opinion, it would probably be best to find out where they are all coming from. Isolate the threat, exterminate it, then send in squads of unseated officers to handle all of these weak hollows. But in the end, it's up to you." Shōkan's opinion of the Shinigami had improved slightly. He appeared to be polite, if a bit hesitant, although experience tended to fix that. Or maybe the reason he was hesitant was experience.
Regardless, Shōkan shrugged internally, It was what is was. In this mission he had been sent as the brute force, the Squad 11 member, it didn't matter that he had tactical ability and skill, obviously they wanted the Squad 2 Shinigami in command for some reason. He would give advice, but in the end, it was up to the younger man. Of course, they made a fairly good combo, squad 2 for stealth and scouting ability, squad 11 for extermination.
Whatever they did, they needed to begin shortly, there wasn't much time to waste. The sooner they through with this, the sooner they could exterminate the source of all of these monsters. "So? What are you wanting to do?" He would follow long, unless some real danger appeared, Shōkan would hold back his strength, he couldn't go all out for very long, and he needed to conserve his strength.

Ryo listened to the unseated officer, he sounded much more knowledgeable then he appeared, it was true that there were a lot of hollows, even for them to deal with all at once. It did concern him, but his knowledge of this country was limited, so he took Shōkan's word that the humans were a safe enough distance away. He took on a thoughtful look and took a minute or two to fully process it before answering again.
"Good point; although I'd wager that once we find the source, it may deal with the majority of the hollows and leave only a small number that we can deal with. However, I doubt they will just let us walk in there, but I have a way of finding the source if we get close enough, but we need to get into the town first and I need you to make sure I'm not interrupted, but at the same time, we can't expel too much spiritual energy, otherwise the hollows might swarm us and that would be very bad. You up for that?" Ryo gave his analysis of the situation, pleasantly surprised that this man wasn't like many of squad 11 was notorious for and actually had a brain for once. His preference was to get in silently, find it, take it out in one swift stroke and deal with any remaining hollows that remain. The main question was finding the source and fortunately, he had the perfect kido for it; the bakudo, Kakushitsuijaku, with it, he could fully locate the source, but he needed to be close, hence why they needed to get into town first. Plus it takes a bit of time for it to fully locate a target, which was why he needed Shōkan to protect him for that short duration, but he wanted to make sure Shōkan was on board for that plan.

Shōkan looked at the man, he didn't use kido, so he supposed he'd go along with it. "Alright, I'll keep watch while you search, start whenever." With that, Shōkan put his hand on the hilt of his zanpakuto, and turned his gaze outwards, towards the hordes of hollows below. He didn't think they would react, they seemed very weak, and seemed preoccupied with copious amounts of property destruction, but if they did, he would be ready.
DM:
If Ryo uses his tracking kidou, he will find that the entire area of his search, almost 80 square miles, has been infested by hollows. Steadily increasing in population density until it comes to near where they are, the Superdome sports center. Inside he can sense a whirling miasma of hollow energy, along with a hint of something else, something similar but... Darker.

"Thank you, now, let's begin," Ryo said softly, nodding to Shōkan before he took out a small pouch and undid the small black rope around it. He dipped his middle finger into it, coating it in some black powder before drawing up a small circle with a cross section inside it.
"Heart of the south, eye of the north, finger of the west, foot of the east, arrive with the wind and depart with the rain; Bakudo number fifty-eight: Kakushitsuijaku" Ryo said, softly saying aloud the incantation of the kido before casting his left hand just above the circle before it lit up as various kanji representing numbers shifted quickly, shifting to scan for the source of all of this.
"46...12...72...32..." Ryo said, concentrating on the kido's data. The coordinates were directing them towards the stadium in the center of the city, yet the kido was detecting something...else, something he didn't necessary recognize at the moment.
"Kawana-san, I've located the source, but its detecting something...else, something at the core of all this. I'm not entire sure what it is, but it seems pretty strong, but its possible its what drew all these hollows here. We can head for it, but I'd recommend extreme caution; at this time, we haven't got any idea what we are facing, so we need to get in, locate it and find a way to deal with it. But again, we should not haste and risk doing something that makes this a whole lot worse. So, you up for following my lead?"

Shōkan watched as his fellow Shinigami cast his kidou, and felt a sudden and intense pang of jealousy. He used to use kidou, he used to complete feats of kidou unheard of, and now... Now he had nothing. The emotion was intense ane lasting, so that as Ryo finished his spell, Shōkan was still struggling to push it down. The other man's words proved enough of a distraction to take his mind off of his melancholic thoughts. Turning towards him, he pondered his response for a few moments, and then responded.
"That sounds reasonable. As I see it, there are a few options, we can go in fast and hard, trusting in our might to destroy all of our opposition. Ir we can take our time. The first runs the risk of being overwhelmed, while the second runs the risk of being to slow, and allowing our enemy, if there is one, to rally more power. It seems you want to take the second option, with caution. How do you propose we proceed? You're squad 2, how's your stealth skills?"
Shōkan took a more serious look upon his face, "I'm pretty strong, if I pushed myself, I can probably match a stronger Vice-Captain in power, but only for a short time, so I have to make it count. In the mean time, I'm skilled in close combat, and observation. I can also perform a rather excellent distraction. However like I said, I can only muster my full power for a short time, so I need to conserve it. I still have some pretty nice strength without it, but I won't be fighting like I could." Shōkan thought that if the man was going to lead, he should probably know what he could do.

Ryo listens patiently to his fellow shinigami. Indeed, he'd prefer the stealthy option instead of a openly suicidal push into the thick of it when there was no need for it, although he couldn't help a smirk when he refereed to it as being the slower way. Also his general skill set was also useful to Ryo since it best let him know how, if they were to fight, how to best synergize with him.
"Thank you. Well, yes, preferably, taking the less obvious route to our objective means we don't have the whole swarm of hollows coming our way. Although even if we are being stealthy, doesn't mean we are slow. Just follow my lead," Ryo explained to him before standing up, tucking away the pouch of black powder before heading off at max speed. He figured from the details that Shōkan provided him that he could keep up with him. Once within the city itself, He would quickly, yet subtly dash through the alleyways while making sure not to attract the attention of the hollows. Although getting close to the stadium, the dense the hollow groups became, making it more difficult to avoid them. He looked to Shōkan.
"We're getting closer, the hollows are getting larger in both size and numbers. I can lead the way, but watch my back, I'd rather not get snuck up on when we are getting so close to it," Ryo whispered to him.

Moving throughout the city that was virtually empty at the moment due to the oncoming storm that had most of the normal human population fleeing in freight or a more self assured chance of survival the young dark haired Kawada walked throughout the streets his eyes gazing over the Hollows that had gathered in this city. For what reason and how they had all managed to get to this location in the Human World were all unclear. All he knew was that they were here now and he had come to stop them himself.
Tsukuyomi was the acting head of Division Eleven due to the vacancy of the Captain position and as the Vice Captain of the war division he felt that it would display a great deal of prowess for the Division if he managed to solve this threat himself. At least that's what he felt others would gather from him taking this action upon himself instead of sending out a group of two dozen standard shinigami under his command. No he was here not only to slay the Hollows, but also for some time to himself.
Things hadn't been going so good for him after his battle with Grodd mainly just due to the built up stress he was constantly under to not only succeed and keep the Elders of the Kawada family happy, but that his secret might still be found out from the evidence in London. He was very good at keeping himself calm and not feeling fear towards most things yet when he would lay down to sleep the thought of being executed for nothing more than being born and not having a single way to change it brought fear and stress to his body and soul.
His obvious appearance in the city and blatant disregard for hiding himself brought the attention of the Hollows towards him. Some appeared to be pretty far in their evolution while others appeared to only be basic in nature. He didn't fear them the only creature he truly feared was himself. So as a few of them rushed him in an attempt to overwhelm him he'd disappear from their view executing Shunpo and unsheathing his wakashi. Dragging the blade across the throat of the first Hollow would be sufficient and what followed would be two quick thrusts from the blade to the side of the following Hollow's necks. They were far to slow. Tsukuyomi had a plan. He couldn't sense their reiatsu so he was going to get enough to come to him then when one of them would run in fear he'd have to follow and just see where it brought him.

Just as they were getting close, Ryo felt strong spiritual pressure enter the area, which was the worse possible thing, so much that he almost swore to the contempt of the moron that had just appeared that had now drawn the attention of the hollows.
"Is he crazy? What if the core is volatile? he could blow us all to hell if he goes near it before we get a chance to look at it properly. In any case, come on, at least this idiot is getting the attention of the larger groups, so let's make head away before more come in," Ryo said, a clear contempt in his voice for whoever had just shown up since he had no idea since the reiatsu was unfamiliar to him, he couldn't tell who it was, just that it was another shinigami and a fairly strong one at that. Although he was annoyed that if whoever this is made the wrong move or accidentally hit the core, there was a probability that he could blow it up and kill them all. True, it might not, but without truly knowing for sure, it was a dangerous gamble to make, but Ryo would push on, coming up to the stadium itself when he noticed something strange; the exterior of the stadium had taken on a fleshy look to it; a mixture of hollow mask bone and flesh. The look of which only gave more questions then answers. He looked at Shōkan.
"Kawana-san, what do you make of that? Since as far as I know, I've never seen a structure of this type before,"
Post by Shōkan Kawada Ⅺ on Jul 12, 2017 20:41:34 GMT -5
Shōkan kept his any rmarks to himself, since he was relinquishing command to the other Shinigami, he didn't project the same aura of leadership he usually did, just calm confidence. Although, due to his aura being so light and bright, others generally felt at ease around him. In response Shōkan just replied, "Seeing as how you sense someone strong, it's probably a high seated officer on a similar mission to our own. I recommend that we intercept and join forces."
Seeing as Ryo already said that was what he wanted, they continued forward, Ryo with stealth, Shōkan only by following in the darkened areas, the hollows so set in their rampage they didn't notice the two go by. As they reached the side of the arena, they saw the powerful Shinigami, to his surprise, Shōkan recognized him, it was one of his own clansmen no less. Looking at Ryo, Shōkan informed him. "That Shinigami is Tsukuyomi Kawada, Vice-Captain of my squad, and one of the last scion of my clan. He would be a great boon to us, he's aa strong and wily fighter."
Walking up to Tsukuyomi, Shōkan caught his attention, "Tsukuyomi!" He said with a grin, "It's good to see you, been awhile hasn't it? Haven't seen you since our spar, congratulations on your new rank by the way." Shōkan held out his forearm in a warriors embrace. "This Is Ryo, he's been ;eading this expedition, using kidou, he sensed the source of all this, a miasma of hollow energy inside that sports stadium" He pointed at the Superdome.
"Although he did say something about something else, he couldn't get a good read on it." Introductions over with, Shōkan contented himself with allowing the other two to decide the plan of action, with Tsukiyomi here, it increased their odds of success tremendously. Shōkan knew he could trust the man, and although it was well known inside the Kawada clan that Shōkan was in line to be the next clan head, it was kept secret outside, to prevent anyone [OC: *cough cough* Harley] from trying anything before they were ready. He knew Tsukuyomi wouldn't let anything slip however, he was trustworthy.

Tsukuyomi stood in the street looking over the buildings and because of that it didn't take him long to see the distinct change to the outside of the stadium. Whatever these Hollows were doing here they weren't acting like normal Hollows. Tsukuyomi had been killing them since he had become a shinigami and while that was actually a much shorter period of time when compared to the majority of shinigami simply due to his young age his experience in dealing with powerful Hollows could be argued to be much more then that of the majority of shinigami.
The point was though that he had never seen Hollows act in this sort of manner. Taking a specific location and then covering it in what looked to be substances of flesh and bone much like themselves was something that he hadn't even read about in any of the reports while he had been the third seat of division seven nor now in the war reports of division eleven. They were acting much more like a swarm of insects making a hive than they were Hollows going about together in order to increase their chances of survival against foes.
He wouldn't have a chance to investigate it any closer though as he heard the sounds of movement near him and his wakashi was instinctively dragged along the air ready to swing at anything that was coming towards him. Thankfully what he had read was a decent distance away and wasn't moving towards him very fast so what he saw was his family member Shokan Kawada. Tsukuyomi knew the man and had sparred with him a few months ago. He was actually the only Kawada in the entire family that Tsukuyomi had any sort of real respect for and considering his brute strength he wasn't surprised to see him here. He would return the warrior's embrace.
"Thank you Shokan. It's good to see you once again as well. Looking as strong as ever I see. Ryo seated officer of the Omnitsukido. Do you have any information on the stadium that we can use to aid us in assaulting it and eliminating the Hollows responsible before this storm reaches the town?" Tsukuyomi spoke to the both of them choosing to get right down to business instead of allowing the Hollows more time and them less time as once the storm hit things were going to get much more dangerous.
"A lieutenant? that explains his spiritual pressure, but still, he seems too reckless for this, I don't like it," Ryo thought to himself while the two embraced each other before the lieutenant addressed him, asking him if he had any intel to provide him. As much as Ryo had disdain for the man and his previous reckless actions, he was still the highest ranking officer here as a lieutenant and so, he had to show the man respect.
"Currently, the only information I have, Lieutenant Kawada, is through the use of my Kakushitsuijaku, I determined that whatever is causing it, is at the center of the stadium, set somewhere underground, which I have been referring to as the core. Whether it is a hollow or something else, I do not know and I cannot know until it is observed up close; problem is I doubt they would just let us stroll in. If I may be so bold, Lieutenant; I'd recommend that since you've been drawing all the hollows to you, that you and Kawada-san cause a distraction to draw the hollow's attention to you while I slip inside. Once I find the source of all this, I shall relay the information via the use of my Tenteikura, then I shall await your orders, Lieutenant on how best to deal with whatever the source is. What do you think of that plan, Lieutenant Kawada?" Ryo explained his idea; going by both the Lieutenant's and Kawada-san's skills and abilities, having them cause a distraction by drawing the hollows to them would mean he could slip inside without anyone noticing and make his way to the core, then by using his Tenteikura, he could talk to them and discuss how to best get rid of whatever he finds. Both tasks were dangerous, especially with the still unknown whether or not there were menos grande in the area, since with all the hollows here, it was possible there were a few around and the unknown dangers within the stadium itself, but it would be up to the lieutenant to decide whether or not they go ahead with Ryo's plan or not.

It was a strange thing actually coming across allies that could be of use to him in this type of mission. While it wasn't uncommon for this kind of thing to happen to others it had never really happened to Tsukuyomi. As he thought about it he actually wondered if it had just been his luck or if his former Captain had made sure that he never received any sort of help while on assignments that she had sent him to handle.
After hearing all of the information that Ryo had gathered Tsukuyomi had to make a decision. Going over all of the possibilities he actually felt like it might be best to go ahead and let this Division Two member sneak inside while Shokan and him just trained utilizing the large number of Hollows to push themselves further than they could during normal training. He knew that Shokan was strong and judging by the last three these Hollows weren't going to pose any sort of grand threat to either of them. "Alright go ahead Shokan and me will obtain and hold their attention."
