The lake that was home to the Naga was being violated as a man splashed throughout it's body doing his best which in reality was actually a very poor attempt to swim towards the small isolated section of land in the center of the lake. He knew what he had to do and he was going to do it if it was the last thing he did. He wasn't the best swimmer in the area even in regards to the other pluses, but he had been the closest to the lake and thus he had gone to get the aid of the Naga.
The small village of pluses was filled with nothing more than fishermen and some farmers with the occasional thief or traveler, but not much else beyond that. They were one of the few villages outside of the Rukongai that didn't want anything to do with the shinigami because of the lack of both care and actual protection from them. Constantly being overtaxed for things that they weren't really receiving had made them leave decades ago to build their own slice of heaven.
That heaven had faced it's share of problems in the past, but in recent years those problems had almost completely been taken care of by something that many of the pluses at first had thought was a bad idea. There was a Naga in the lake nearby the village only about a half a mile away from them and that Naga gave them protection from anything that would do them harm so long as they basically were good to him in return. Some of them actually saw the Naga as a type of God now and prayed to him for protection and whether or not that helped in the end the man didn't care all he knew was they needed him now.
So as he continued to poorly swim he eventually reached the small island in the middle of the lake panting as he tried to gather his breathe and energy before running off in the hopes of finding the Naga nearby. His heart was pounding against his ribs to the point it hurt and felt like it might explode at any moment. Drenched in water he was hunched over so drained from moving without pause until now that he felt like he couldn't actually lift his head to even gaze around. He just hoped that the Naga was here and he'd be able to find him soon.
It wasn't every day that his sanctuary was violated. Even from across the lake he had picked up on the struggled splashing. Those natural, predatory, instincts had kicked in in response to what very well might have been an easy meal. Detaching himself from the mud at the bottom of the lake, and with a single push of that powerful tail, Umaroth glided effortlessly through the tea colored depths heading in the direction of the man struggling to reach the center island. Didn't take long for Umaroth to find the human. Floating below him, Umaroth watched with curiosity at the man. Why was he swimming in his lake? Umaroth had the right mind to grab the man by his leg and pull him into the depths for trespassing, but something held him back. It was how struggled the man seemed as he saw.
The reptile kept his distance as the human approached his island. Exiting the water and heading onto his island, Umaroth narrowed his eyes wondering just what the human was doing. His horns slowly poked out of the surface of the lake, followed by feathers and then eyes. He watched as the man suddenly began running, heading deeper onto the small island. What was he doing? Sliding out of the water, Umaroth pursued cautiously from behind until he saw the man stop. He was panting, clearly exhausted, and would in no way be able to defend himself if Umaroth chose to lunge. But he was curious. Why did a human come into his territory? He just needed to know.
The human would hear the gravel crunch behind him, followed by that deep throated growl. If he turned he'd see the Naga pacing around the man. Displaying that mouth full of sharp teeth, Umaroth narrowed his eyes as he inspected the human for any weapons from the few feet away he was. "Why have you come here, human?" The reptile asked, his grammar having improved drastically over the weeks. If this human was foolish
The human had been rushing to the island for the last few minutes and as the massive Naga of the lake revealed itself right behind him the man was no longer panting, but actually struggling not to just faint from not only exhaustion, but freight. He had to do what he had come to do though so staying awake yet backing away from the Naga a few paces the man gathered his courage. "I'm sorry lord Naga, but the village. It's under attack by something massive. Bigger than you and it's killing everyone. Please we need you to stop it before it wipes all of us out. I beg of you." The man would plead with Umaroth hoping that the massive lizard would accept the need of those that viewed him so highly and make his way to the village.
Umaroth's blue eyes narrowed. What did the man say? Something was attacking the village. Visible confusion and concern was painted on the reptiles scaley features as his head would bounce from the man, to the villages shore, and back to the man. Something was attacking the village?? Umaroth snarled. Of course it had to happen when Nesr and Lisa weren't here. They were away because he asked Nesr to go and train the weaker Beast-Clanswoman. Snarling to himself he realized the stupidity in his action. He should have had them train around the lake rather than head out into the Wilderness for the forests and fields. No. Training Lisa was a priority. He could not be mad at a design that he felt was right. Snarling, Umaroth abandoned the human and leapt into his lake, speeding through the tea colored waters with the intensity and speed of a torpedo.
What could it be? A Hollow? A rampaging beast? He didn't know. But he was strong. He was stronger now than he was when he met with the panther. He was stronger than when Ajraka came into his life. Umaroth was strong. The surface of the water exploded once more as he, essentially, took flight through the air. He came sliding across the dirt, clawed feet digging into the earth, emerging upon the shore of the village. Blue eyes, pupils narrowed together tightly, blazed with a feral, savage, intensity as he scanned the village for just what the hell the problem was.
It seemed that the Naga was going to live up to his end of the arrangment or at least that's how some of the villagers would view it as the massive lizard moved across the depths of the tea colored lake at high speeds until he ultimately shot out from the water and onto the ground. He'd look around his immiedate area to try and find whatever was apparently attacking the village, but he'd find nothing in sight. At least for the first few moments that is. If he kept looking he'd actually be able to see another man on the ground on the village with what was obviously a broken neck simply because while his body was face down his face was gazing at the sky.
Whatever was attacking the villagers was inside of the village itself by now and it had already killed at least one of the villagers in a brutal way. Umaroth would have to hurry into the village because from his current position he couldn't do anything. The only thing that he'd be able to do is hear the sounds of the villagers screaming in freight. The screams started or rather would be picked up after a few moments giving Umaroth a general idea of the villagers location and where to go. Just what was attacking the village though?
Nothing was around. The reptile, dripping, turned his attention to the body he saw lying on the ground. His neck was snapped. Something strong had attacked. The reptiles eyes narrowed as he approached the corpse, looking at the injury that killed him for a few minutes longer before snarling. He turned his attention towards the road and began running, aiming to head deeper into the village to try and find just what had attacked. Just what had driven that human to swim to his island? What had killed the villager? Umaroth followed the sounds of the villagers. He would follow their screams and shouts until he found them and whatever was attacking them.
As Umaroth moved throughout the small village he'd see the bodies of the individuals that had worshiper him lying across the ground or smashed through the wood that made up the walls of their shacks. Whatever was attacking them wasn't allowing them to live easily as many of them were missing sections of their bodies that had been by the looks of it torn off from the rest of them. Blood stained much of the village now and most of the screaming at stopped. Umaroth would turn onto the main street of the village though and as he did he'd come face to face with what was attacking his worshipers.
"NAGA! PLEASE SAVE M." the shouting of a man that had seen Umaroth turn into the street was cut off as the massive brown hand that was holding onto his head squeezes and his head burst like a water balloon. Blood splashing onto the ground as his body was allowed to fall and fill the dirt with blood. What was standing there was something that Umaroth had already seen and had thought to have killed. The massive brown insect of a Beast turned and with it's small little eyes would stare at Umaroth. How was this thing still alive after he had blown it up?
Taking small steps towards Umaroth the insect would shake the ground as it moved the weight of it's body surpassing that of Umaroth easily. It didn't look hostile or even as if it wished to kill him in fact emotion was something that seemed to be void in it's gaze and facial expressions. Whatever this thing wanted though it seemed to be killing everyone that lived in the village. Umaroth would know better than to assume this thing wasn't going to attack him after what had happened last time. Was he still going to try and reason with it or was eliminate his choice to end this bloodshed.
