Plotline: [What if the Seireitei became obsolete? What if instead of having some holier than thou righteous otherworld claiming it's the protector of them all, real people from the earth could protect it instead? Meet what everyone has started calling Team Josai. It's an elite squadron of Soul Reapers that have been going from city to city in Japan annihilating Hollows with an unprecedented efficiency. And the best part? They aren't from Soul Society. All of them are Rogues who are roughly Captain level in strength. But they're still just an experiment right now, and there are only six of them.

So, what does this have to do with you? If you're a Rogue, everything. Everyone knows that the Bakkoto are manufactured by the Kausmi'Oji family's underground criminal empire, but not everyone knows that the overseer of their black market distribution isn't that family. It's a Rogue named Lord Callus, who in his heyday was a contender for Captain Commander. And in every single Bakkoto ever manufactured, he has instilled a potential to use it to communicate with others. So for all who possess a Bakkoto, Lord Callus has reached out to them. "Come, work with me," he has decreed in everyone's minds. "I can make you as powerful as Team Josai, and I can put you to work doing good." His conditions are simple. All Rogues must meet him, or he will enforce consequences using their Bakkoto. After meeting him once, obviously Rogues are free to decide if they want to work with him or not. If not, he will let them be on their way. However, they MUST meet him, at least the once. That is his condition.

That's if you're a Rogue. You'll be going to Tokyo to meet with Callus. If you're anyone else? Well, what else would draw you here? Surely not the sudden HUGE migration of the world's Rogues into one city at the same time... Surely not being hired by all sorts of organizations to find out what the hell is going on. Or perhaps you just happen to be in Tokyo at the time. Regardless, this is sure to be a very impressive event. And, as it happens, Tokyo is currently the only city in the entire world which is considered 100% Hollow free. We've got Team Josai to thank for that one.

{OOC} Whoo! Super excited about this one! I would also like to make a request to all members who are potentially joining this thread. Before you jump in, take the time to consider whether or not your character really fits the story presented to us for this thread. Also, if you're already in one of the currently running race events and you're looking to join this, please let other people get a turn with these events. I don't mean to sound rude, and I'm not looking to keep other people from roleplaying, but I wanted to say this because of strong feelings I have towards these subjects. Also, be aware of Garrets Osen.

How long had it been since he'd last seen the sun? Three days? It must have been at least three days since these rains had began. It refused to quiet, this downpour that blanketed the world in a curtain of grey. A downpour that muted near every other sound around, one that soaked the earth beneath the sky. Irregardless of how wet he became, how cold he was, or how far he walked, he kept going forward. A man wrapped head to toe in a black cloak, hiding his form beneath the fabric. It was a step up from the one he used to possess, coupled with the fact that it lacked the wear and tear the older one did. It kept him, for the most part, warm and dry as the rains came down. To an onlooker who could see the spiritual world, he might have even appeared like a Shinigami, something that he hadn't thought of once, nor would have really been bothered by.

Where was he going? Even he wasn't sure. Garret never knew where he was going, letting his feet and the winds guide him along an invisible path. A path that only lead to more battles. For the swordsman the battlefield was his home. But right now he was not sure where he was going. Something had happened two days ago, something that the Rogue had not quite expected. A voice within his head, neither his nor the others. A voice that identified itself as Lord Callus. "Come, work with me," the voice had said within his mind. "I can make you as powerful as Team Josai, and I can put you to work doing good." What Team Josai was was a mystery to the Rogue, and something he wasn't entirely interested in. Lord Callus had stated that those who possessed the weapons referred to as Bakkoto where to appear before him, or suffer a consequence dealt to them by their very weapons.

Garret exhaled, lowering his gaze a bit to look down at his hand as he walked. Wrapped in dirtied bandages, in order to help him better hold his sword, Garret stared down at his covered palm. Even through the wrappings he could make out the shapes of the calluses his hand possessed, the result of constantly rubbing against the grip of his weapon. Cracked and damaged nails, the results of his constant fighting, showed that his hands were in just as bad a condition as the rest of his body. But it wasn't his body's imperfections he was looking for, or in this case looking at. Garret could see the shakes, the trembles in his hand.

His eye narrowed at the sight. The shakes were getting worse. Sometimes his fingers didn't want to work correctly, exhausted from all the trembling they did. His condition was worsening. The result of using his Bakkoto without being able to control it. He knew that the warnings that Taiho Kasumi'Oji had foretold for him had been something worth heeding, but Garret did not expect the symptoms to appear so soon. "Yours is different from the rest. It's more attached and thus has a far more intimate relationship with your body. It has access to your body and reiatsu in ways that the others don't. " He remembered that bitches voice rather well. The voice of a viper ready to strike.

"If you're unable to control it you will have more to fear than just losing your mind. The toll it takes on your body is enormous and prolonged, extensive, use of its power will begin to damage you. Your limbs will become fatigued. You'll begin to lose your senses; taste will be first followed by smell, then your ability to touch. Hearing and sight will follow suit. Unless you can learn to control it, it shall completely devour you. Mind, body, and soul." Garret frowned, clenching his fingers into a fist and willing the tremors to stop.

Giving in? Surrendering himself to a weapon? Ridiculous. Garret would find a way. He'd find a way to take the reins, to use the armor like it was supposed to be used. Garret was its master, not the other way around. Somehow, someway, he'd find a way to take control. No matter what it took. He wouldn't let it destroy him, he couldn't afford to. Not until he was finished. Not until Garret had wiped them all out. Not until every single Hollow was dead. Not until this rage inside of him had subsided. Gritting his teeth beneath his lips, Garrets anger began to grow. He would not let the armor consume him. It was why he was making this trip, making this long walk to the land called Japan, to a city called Tokyo. This man, Lord Callus, could no doubt hold the secret, the clue, to allowing Garret to control his power. Azumi Kasumi'Oji, Taiho Kasumi'Oji, both had vanished. Both had dropped contact with the Rogue. This could be his last chance at outside assistance with controlling this weapon.

Is that really what you want?

And there it was. Garret narrowed his eye, the corners of his vision picking up on the unnatural movement. It was a little distance off, moving between the trees keeping pace with him, visible even within the gray curtain of the rainstorm. A hound as black as night, unnatural in appearance, something that would never truly exist in this world. A manifestation of his madness and hate, a manipulation of his darker emotions by the parasite within him, a living embodiment of the darkness inside his soul. Flaming eyes filled with an insatiable hunger, an unending anger, Garret faced forward, doing his best to ignore the hound that stalked beside him.

It's still burning within you, an inferno that desires to be free. To scorch the earth and consume everything in its path. Control? You don't want control.

Garret blinked, it was gone. No, it had moved. It was now walking on the other side of him. Its form had changed. It was larger. Its mouth had spread farther down its body, opening up to reveal a collection of razor sharp teeth. The Rogue remained steady, facing forward and not giving the creature the satisfaction of his attention. It aimed to provoke him, to slip up, to give in to anger so that it could creep ever closer to total control.

Control means letting it go. Control means surrendering the anger, your purpose. Control means that you're still human. But that's not what you want. This is what you want. Have you even noticed it? Both you and the sword strapped to your back, you've both begun to stink just like them. You're becoming nothing more than the very things that you kill. A monster.

Garrets teeth began to clench together, fingers tightening together to levels that could crush steel.

But that makes it easier. You thirst for this. You long to be this. You wish to burn away the restraints of your human heart. To be consumed by the anger, to burn them away with your hatred. Why do you continue to resist? What point is there to holding it in anymore? You have nothing left but the fight. Become carefree. Become the Beast. Tear them all apart...just like they did to Cassandra.

"ENOUGH!" Garret shouted, swinging his left arm at the apparition with his full strength. The result ending in a shockwave that, when fired from his swinging arm, wiped out a large portion of the forest that stood in its way. The explosion finally brought a new sound to the forest, the sound of panicked animals and settling debris. Garret took deep breaths, glaring at where he had last seen the apparition. Its laughter echoed in his mind, become quieter and quieter as it descended back into the depths within his soul. Blacker and blacker you will become...until finally when the Beast takes control. Nothing will stand in our way. We will make the world run red.. Garret sneered, hiding his arms back beneath his cloak and continuing on.

His foot came to a stop in a puddle, but his attention was not on the large amount of water now in his shoes. No, staring down the high rise of earth he stood upon, the swordsmans single eye rested upon the construct of steel and human ingenuity. A city so unlike the ones he remembered from his time alive, one so unlike what he saw in the Rukongai. The swordsman stared down at the city of Tokyo, home of the one named Lord Callus. His eye narrowed, understanding that once he began this he would be breaking one of his own rules. He avoided civilization for a purpose. He hoped to end this today, to end whatever this man wanted now, so that when the night came he would be ready. Because whether or not he was...the fight that followed this man would be coming. So he took his next step forward towards Lord Callus.

"Hehehehe.... So many lost souls." "The stupid madman said to himself, as he stood on the top of a skyscraper, catching heavy breezes and zero shade from the sun. The twat looked down at the bustling city below, filled to the brim with whiny people, and zero hollows. Such a shame, now the gluttonous ape would have to dine on something other than hollows for a change. Not that I'm complaining, since he'll undoubtedly start going through Withdrawal in a matter of hours and begin to suffer for it. Watching him writhing on the ground in pain was comparable to a sporting event for normal-" "SHUT THE F#*K UP JACK!" Kitai yelled, looking over his shoulder.

This man stood at an astounding height of seven foot one, and gave off a murderous aura. He was dressed entirely in monotone, with black khakis, black military steel toed boots, and a white button up shirt. Over his shirt was an inky black straitjacket, that covered his hands entirely. On his head was a white hat, looking like the unwanted child of a top hat, a sun hat, and a witch's hat. Thanks to that, his face was shadowed by the brim, and the floppy tip of it went down with his ridiculously long hair. He had long, ivory colored hair, that touched his lower back.

It also covered all of the upper portion of his face, leaving only his dazzling smile on display, as well as leaving that the only visible skin on his body. "If by 'dazzling', you mean 'demented', then yes, he, he is very 'dazzling'." "WILL YOU F$@k OFF ALREADY!?!" ....right. Behind his hair are a pair of crimson red eyes that spell danger for those that get the chance to see them. On his eyes are some special contacts. These let him-"BOOORING! Would ya'll get ON wit it all reada!" FINE! This man was known as Kitai Yoru, Jack the A$$ HOLE! "You're just mad I narrate better than you." Grr. And Jill Valentine. All made up names.

This deluxe bundle of crazy was here for merly one VERY important reason. You see, Kitai is a simple man. All he wants to do in life is make the Lord happy, eradicate everything that isn't a human, and eat cheese. Then he learned that Tokyo had an airport. Then he added, 'flying an airplane' to his list of ever growing wants to his list of things to do. So he came here to Tokyo in order to get one. I couldn't be that hard to find it, right? Well, now his goal became a LOT more complicated. Using something known as 'Energy sensory' the madman was able to sense dozens, if not hundreds of Heretics all around him.

He wasn't the most skilled with the ability, and those numbers were probably a gross overestimation, but he could definitely sense more than was normal. Then again, these guys felt off from the others he fought. Then again, he didn't care. "Dat's cuz ya get yer a$$ whooped erey tine ya meet won, ya b#@ch. Kukukuku!" The persona known as 'Jill' said aloud, making their collective body lean forward, placing 'her' hand on her knee. "When I get meh hands on won, I'ma sha dem zactly 'ow I feel. Kukuku~!" She said, wrapping her hands around her body, grabbing parts of herself and making erotic noises to emphasize a point.

Kitai violently reclaimed use of his hands, and proceeded to try and murder the old harpy by crushing their neck. They fell over, and landed on the roof. Jill was flailing their legs about in a useless attempt to get Kitai to back off. Jack only watched on in boredom. 'You two are perfect for each other. One will screw anything anywhere, and the other is willing to eat out anything. Plus you're both bloodthirsty, vulgar, and most importantly, stupid savages. The prideful, british sounding gentleman commented, as he questioned his own misfortune for being stuck with a barbaric ape and a forever horny harpy mongrel mutt. He sighed as-' He was cut off as two mental fists planted themselves in his face.

"SHUT THE F*#K UP JACK A$$!" The two said, stopping their fruitless attempt to murder one another, solely to inflict pain onto the prideful little s#@t, before he went on another narrating rant. Kitai used the time after to boot Jill in the face and regain control of their body. As he came too after the two seconds their body blacked out, he noticed something was missing. He was still at the edge of the building, because it seemed that a whole section of the building had collapsed in front of him, and he was farther back than before.

He blinked, still smiling a wicked smile, and looked down. "SORRY BOUT THAT!" He called down, before leaping to another building, using his insane strength. He looked down again, seeing the massive building chunk touch down. The people down below had thankfully heard the crash that he definitely wasn't the cause of, and had all managed to get out of the way, with only major and minor injuries. He was smiling wider at the destruction, and the extra baggage in head were both laughing in their own way. He managed to tear himself away of the preview of what was to come. "Hehehehahaha! Now, time to find that airport." He said, as he rushed off to find his destination.

The spiritual community about the town was buzzing with action and excitement. Tokyo itself was already a fairly large city, with 13 million inhabitants, so it was commonly known to possess a great deal of spiritual activity. As a matter of fact, Tokyo was the city in this world which possessed the highest number of spiritual inhabitants. This of course made sense given that it was also the city with the highest overall population anyway. Plus, contained within one of the outskirt Tokyo prefectures was Karakura Town, which had the highest latent number of spiritual particles, and the highest proportion of spiritual beings anywhere. Headed into the city of Tokyo itself was like heading into the hub for spiritual activity.

The moment anyone arrived, regardless of energy sensory, they would be alert to spiritual presences everywhere. In a city of 13 million inhabitants, one would find that at least 1 in 100 encounters was a spiritual being. As soon as Kitai landed in Tokyo's airport, he would be be able to detect many spiritual beings. The moment that he walked outside of the airport, there would be at least fifteen nearby already. And chances were they probably sensed him, too. Those who were residents were used to sensing a high volume of activity. But, this was an even higher volume than normal. Remember that 1 in 100 statistic? Today, make it 1 in 30.

For all of the world's Rogues to suddenly gather in one spot was something which naturally alerted the beast that was the Thirteen Court Guard Squads in Soul Society, and thus the normal Soul Reapers had also begun gathering to investigate. The Seireitei itself had sent in investigation from probably two squads, one of which was likely Squad 3. They'd probably also sent an independent Captain, likely a well composed one such as Sozen, or, if rumors were true of his return, Enma. Plus, there would probably be investigation directed by the Central 46 from the Kido Corps, and maybe a few other independent parties like the Kuchikis and Kawadas.

Sensing all of this entry from Seireitei, organizations around the human world would have reacted, too. Members of Xcution come to dally in this gathering of the spiritually aware, and probably people from groups like Wayne Inc. and Uzaki Enterprises, as well as all sorts of high and low level criminals from all over the place. Domino effect. One gathering triggered another triggered several more. Right now, Tokyo had the biggest spiritual population ever witnessed in history, all because of this one simple move by Lord Callus that no one except Rogues knew about. How curious it was for all of these people to have gathered here...

So what anyone arriving now would experience, including Tsubaki and Douma, was all of this abundant spiritual activity. And what was the first best thing to do? Eavesdrop! It wasn't hard. Anyone just walking through the city would hear chatter. Oi oi, I heard all of Team Josai is in Tokyo... or something along the lines of Hey, there are a lot of Soul Reapers nearby right now... or also Ehhh? Team Josai? I wouldn't mess with them. I hear they all have bad personalities. Naturally everyone spoke Japanese, and anyone who didn't speak Japanese would be heavily disadvantaged right now. Foreigners to Tokyo were at a big disadvantage in general for not knowing the layout of the enormous city. So, what to do now?

Well, upon getting into the city, people should be information seeking. And, at around the same time, Garret's arrival would merit for him a surprise. Despite the abundance of spiritual activity, not even a modicum of Hollow reiatsu! Anywhere. Not even entry from Hueco Mundo attracted to this huge gathering of reiatsu all in one place. Actually, as he was wandering through the streets, someone in what appeared to be a typical looking university uniform for Japan walked right up to him and started walking next to him. The guy's uniform consisted of a white athlete's jacket with Kanji on the back. It had light blue stripes on it also. He also had matching track pants and athletic shoes. So, presumably, he was some university athlete?

He also had neat black hair, and an ugly look in his young eyes. Garret wouldn't know, but this was Team Josai's Kuruna Orenoshi. He was the same height as Garret. "You're that one with the Hollow blood, aren't you? The one whose reiatsu brings them to wherever you go. Well, don't worry, we took care of all the Hollows in Tokyo, and we've got guys for the ones coming from Hueco Mundo too. As long as we're around during your stay here, this city will be literally Hollow free. So, come on now. It's my job to bring people to Callus." First few minutes in Tokyo, and Garret met a guy already who seemed quite unpleasant...

DM Advice: Garret should go with Kuruna, and on the way, ask him a question or two. Either way, next post Garret will find himself before Callus. Kitai and Tsubaki should each seek out an outlet of information to learn what's going on. Douma should just post an intro because he will also be brought to Callus when that happens.

It was something else entirely. Garret was a man who had now experienced three different worlds. There was the time in which he was alive, a time where war ravaged the lands and kings sent young men to die for them in battles. There was the Rukongai, a world where Garret learned what it meant to live in peace. And now there was this. Walking through the raining streets of Tokyo, Garret only had one word to describe what his first thoughts of this city were. Loud. It wasn't just audibly loud, but make no mistake Garret was slightly overwhelmed by all the people and everything he was hearing. Flashing lights from illuminated pictures along the sides of buildings, the horseless carriages known as cars moving along the road, and the never ending sea of people. It was...so different.

Garret was a man who had become so used to his isolation that to go from dealing with zero people a day to suddenly being surrounded by a thousand made him feel rather out of place. This was ontop of the fact that Garret wasn't too excited about being around all these people anyways, since Hollows were drawn to people. He didn't plan on spending much time here anyways. Meet with Lord Callus then leave before the sunset. He wasn't even sure where he was supposed to be going. He'd never been to this city before, and considering the fact that there was just so much meant Garret was going to get lost, easily.

As he walked even he, who had no energy sensory, could feel the absurd amount of energy around him. He couldn't help but wonder why there was so much spiritual energy here. He became aware of the individual walking alongside him, and despite having noticed it he didn't act on it. He just continued on his way, keep his vision straight ahead. It was then that he began to talk. Of course the first thing that was said to him was a question regarding his identity, being asked if he was the one with "Hollow blood". That comment caused Garrets attitude to turn sour rather fast, but he kept quiet as he walked alongside the other man.

"I see." Garret commented, learning that the news of Team Josai eradicating all the Hollows in this city were true. It was relieving to know that methods had been put in place to prepare for what followed the swordsman, but even so, Garret could not relax his guard. His gaze shifted over to the man who walked beside him, this individual being tasked with bringing Bakkoto wielders to Callus. Garret blinked, deciding now would be a good time to ask some questions. "For both your own sake, and for this city, it's best I finish my business with Callus quickly. I don't wish for you, or anyone else, to become involved in the battle that is to come." Garret replied, his comment directed at his Curse.

"Since he sent you, you must know him. What am I going to expect meeting him?" Garret asked, turning his attention back to the unnamed man. Garret had no intention to ask his name, nor did Garret hope that the man asked for his. He didn't want to get to know anybody. His business was with Callus and Callus alone. The less involved Garret became the better it was for everybody.

[Kitai Yoru]

Hopping from one building to another was starting to bore Kitai. He could only get so much enjoyment from caving in the rooves and sending the people inside into a panic before the shtick got old. 'Speak fa ya self ya blue balled sissy!' Jill screeched from inside Kitai's head, forcing him to grip it in pain, a brief flash of agony crossing his face, before returning to his usual grinning visage. While Kitai loved causing panic and mayhem, Jill was the one who loved the mindless violence that came with it the most, perfectly willing to rip a man in two just to get what she wanted. Especially if it meant getting something she wanted.

"Hehehehee, well, maybe if a stupid whore would shut her, heha, worthless pie hole, I'D BE THERE ALREADY!" The albino yelled, as he crashed another skyscraper rooftop, before leaping away. He was almost certainly attracting too much attention to himself, but then again, he loved the attention. The more chaos he could stir up, the better. 'Kitai and his simple minded pursuit to garner attention reflected how empty headed he truly was, showing how much he wanted dear old mommy and daddy to love him. What a poor, stupid, ugly thing he was.'[/color] Jack commented, ridiculing Kitai in more ways than one.

"YEAHAHAAHAHA! I'LL F$*KING MURDER YOU! HAHAHAHAA!" Kitai screamed in the middle of a jump, throwing Jill into control of the body, as he dived into his mind in order to murder the prideful narrator. Jill, only half expecting the switch, started falling for a good five seconds, and crashed into the building, tearing into it as if it were cardboard, leaving a human-shaped hole on the roof of the building. Her body was currently hanging onto a wooden beam by her midsection. She was grinning a seductive smirk, even as threw herself to the floor below her. "Kukuku~, oh sugga, my pie hole is anytin but useless. Chu~" She said, as she fixed her hair, revealing the left half of her face, showing off a lustful pink eye.

Now that she was in control, she had SO MANY options to chose from. She could continue with Kitai's stupid plan to snatch a plane, "Kuyku~ no.", or, she could have her own fun with the people inside this building. Her eyes... eye lit up in excitement from the possibilities. Looked around the dusty room around her. It seemed that she was in a smaller building if the fall was any indication. And older if the dust was anything to go by. It was an odd little attic, filled with boxes, manikins, and... weapons? "Ohh~, mama likey! Chu~"

The woman dashed over towards the weapons, before feeling a heavy spiritual pressure. Her lone visible eye widened in shock, and slight fear. The gravitational pressure was far stronger than hers. "Nope!" She quickly muttered, before leaping out of the building with a loud crash, not knowing what that was. "Airplane plan soun's nice! Yep~, gettin outa dodge! Chu~" She says quickly, fleeing from the building. Was she being cowardly? Yes. Was she okay with that? A hundred times yes.

She found herself at the airport minutes later. The amount of people was staggering, especially with all the spiritually aware there were. She wasn't entirely sure she was being followed, but she didn't want to risk it if that guy was following. So, getting a running start, she bounded over the entire airport, giving the middle finger to both subtility, and the people below her, landing a few yards away from an airplane, almost ready for takeoff. If she was uninterrupted, she'd hop in the plane and try to take off.

[Tsubaki Shiba]

Tsubaki was alone in her lab when she first learned about Team Josai, which was fortunate, because that meant no one was around to hear her uncharacteristically loud "FUCK!" And even better, that meant no one panicked, and caused more noise as a result, which would've irritated her, panicking them, causing a feedback loop until someone was bleeding to death on the ground. Would've been non-ideal. Instead, she just gripped the paper that the Xcution memo was written on so tightly she almost ripped it into bits.

The concept was perfect, and she was jealous she hadn't thought of it. It was the perfect way to show up Soul Society, while simultaneously doing some good in the world. It was a way to field test the stress limits of Bakkoto, and perform Tsubaki's favorite thing: Science, In Action. The efficiency appealed to her, they were sweeping near the area that her laboratory was located, meaning that joining wouldn't be a journey, and best of all, they were the sort that she could consider her peers.

But then she got to the part of the report that made her curse, made her shake with rage and fear and anxiety. A simple name: Lord Callus. The monster that broke her, who defeated her with the fourth layer of his Bakkoto, despite her incredible analytical and sensory abilities. The man who left her for dead, as she desperately tried to piece her mind back together. Who caused her voice to sound like this due to endless hours of screaming, and who left her with this terrible curse, the inability to endure sound.

The report said that he'd contacted every known Rogue with their Bakkoto. She hadn't been contacted, which offended her and relieved her. Why? Perhaps he touched her mind, and saw who it was, and decided not to. Perhaps the silence of her Osen had conquered his mental influence. Most likely it was the manner in which Tsubaki got her Bakkoto. If Lord Callus was an underground dealer of Bakkoto, as the report claimed, then she wouldn't have had his prebuilt message: the Kasumi'Oji head had made the Bakkoto for her personally, in front of her very eyes, after her breakout. There wasn't a moment that Callus could've defiled it.

No matter. She needed to find him. She wouldn't be able to kill him, but she knew that she had to meet him. She'd never forgive herself for missing the opportunity to do so, just as she knew that Aiko had pursued Grimoire when she could, chasing him straight into Hell itself. She was already in the greater Tokyo area, so it wouldn't be hard to start sweeping the area, especially given the raw power possessed by his cronies. Unfortunately, there was an enemy in her way, the greatest one Tsubaki had ever encountered:

Crowds.

Perhaps it was just best to stick to rooftops, with earplugs in, and flare up her reiatsu, letting Team Josai find her. Yes, that was best.

[Kento Waffles]

"Yo," a voice said behind Tsubaki. If she turned around, she would see... the same guy that Garret was seeing. Kuruna Orenoshi. Not that she knew that it was the same guy that was greeting someone else, simultaneously, in another place entirely. No, she would get to remain blissfully unaware for the moment of the fact that Kuruna appeared to have a doppleganger. "You're... A scientist." Fast. Either Callus knew she was coming, or this guy was also extremely quick at gathering intel. Possibly, he was a mind reader of some kind? With high enough energy sensory, those of higher level could read those of lower level, and Kuruna was clearly leagues above Tsubaki for the moment.

A fact Callus might be willing, supposedly, to change, or so he seemed to have advertised to these Rogues he had contacted thus far. He'd never said it, but it was surely implied. Either way, to see Kuruna up close must be of interest to the scientist. Unlike Garret, who lived more or less under a rock, Tsubaki probably had a small amount of intel on Kuruna. "The cheater," was what they called him. He was one of six members of Team Josai, and, as advertised, had a very dirty, trick and manipulation based personality. "You're expected," Kuruna informed Tsubaki. "Come with me, and I'll take you to him." Unlike with Garret, Kuruna seemed to be unwilling to answer any of Tsubaki's questions on the way there.

Back at Garret, Kuruna chuckled. "The battle that's coming? You take yourself way too seriously. Damn, guys like you piss me off... Still..." he looked up into the sky, as if pondering something else entirely. It was like they said about him, though Garret hadn't heard the stories most likely, with his lifestyle. Everyone on Team Josai had a bad personality. What Kuruna had said implied that he didn't like to take things in an overly serious manner. If things like this were done less seriously, they became more of a game. Looking up into the sky, he spoke again, answering Garret's question. "Well, you're not wrong, I do know him. As for what to expect, I guess... He's got a really shitty personality..."

Over in Kitai's direction, he was successful in taking over the plane and flying it into the skies over Tokyo. Too successful. There had been no resistance. No one had tried to stop him or even yelled at him. Of course, lost in his insanity and haste, it would've been unlikely for him to take note of such a thing. He was instead pushed into the unfortunate position of now being high in the sky in a vehicle that was in jeopardy. Jeopardy? Yes, jeopardy. Because when and while he was in the sky in that plane, someone joined him in the pilot's seat. It wasn't teleportation, but apparition. He looked one moment, and suddenly there was another.

This was a young man with red hair sticking upward stylishly, and a teardrop tattoo on one side of his face with a crescent moon on the other. His skin was white as a sheet, literally. As if he had been painted white, except this looked like his natural skin tone. He also had yellow eyes which, for one reason or another, gave off an aura that was more sociopathic even than Kitai's. And Kitai didn't know it, but this was Kisuke Urahara. No, not THE Kisuke Urahara. But no one knew any other name for this jester that had decided to borrow the name of a famous Soul Reaper. Clad in a black tank top and white pants, here was another member of Team Josai, silently sitting there watching Kitai.

Music!!

When Garret and Tsubaki met Lord Callus it was in a huge underground basement that more resembled a mausoleum. This mausoleum was completed by white pillars on all sides, and before them stood torches with blue flames lit. At the very end of the room into which Garret and Kuruna stepped, there was a huge iron chair, a throne, upon which sat a sickly old man in violet robes. He had sunken, dark gray skin, and a round nose with three nostrils. His hair was long, wispy, and white, and he had a craggled beard covered in crums and other filth. His feet were bare, soaking in a large bowl of what looked to be either blood or red wine. All around the bowl, there were men.

These men were stripped naked, with chain shackles around their necks held by the old man in question. Their eyes were solid white, and their tongues lapped at the liquid that Callus's feet were bathed in with a sort of insane, unquestioning thirst. As if this was all that their survival depended on. To either side of Callus, there stood large towering figures of box-like armor, completely white. They were each at least three meters tall, more resembling machines than men. It seemed implausible if not unlikely to impossible that there were men inside of that armor. Likely, they were automatons. This man here, before them, was Lord Callus.

But that reiatsu... It was something else entirely. Anyone who had met Satsujun of Xcution knew that no one was more powerful than he was. Still, in his presence, though he seemed somehow god-like, there was still something perfectly ordinary about him. Something anti climactic. At the same time, anyone who had met Sonken Kouhai or Kyousou Ningen knew that these two figures were above and beyond, but were not beings that were insurmountable gods. They weren't unbeatable. So, then... For Lord Callus to feel that way, like he was a God, was intense. Anyone who sensed Lord Callus would sense the same as with Satsujun, but... With no normalcy. Most people's first thought was always I've never felt such power...

He cackled too, then, looking at his two Rogues that had entered into his domain. "Hello there Garret. Tsubaki," he said excitedly. "You've come far to meet me, haven't you?" Such limitless power would only be experienced once in a lifetime. Stand before even the late Emperor of the Vandenreich, and such power would not be felt. Here was someone that from the beginning had been cursed to be a horrible monster. He had been fated to be the devil in a more human looking form. There could be no other explanation for the thing that sat in front of Garret and Tsubaki. Nothing. "I'll get to my point... I can give both of you what you want... For the one, a remedy to your curse. For the other, the ability to research and unlock every secret life has to offer...and every secret death has, too. In exchange...? You know what I want. Allegiance... A replication of the experiment that is Team Josai."

It should be obvious not to trifle with this guy. He's class 0, rank level 4, and like the Captain Commander possesses +1000 SP. He's an Aged type. Like the Captain Commander and King of Las Noches ranks, he bypasses the 400 limit. As with these ranks, he also gains +50% to stats after Type. He is also capable of up to 3 skills with a 4.

[Douma]

“Come work with me. I can make you as powerful as Team Josal, and I can put you to work doing good.”

Douma, as well as every other soul with a bakkoto leaching off of them, would hear the message emitted from their weapons. It was concise, straightforward, and intriguing. Power. Justice. Those two concepts accompanied each other far more than most realize, but Douma was only interested in the strength Callus promised. Team Josal had surfaced very rapidly, and Douma already heard rumors equating them to the strongest of captains in Soul Society, and that drew the Angel of Silence’s interest.

The other part of the message, calling rogue shinigami to be put to “work doing good” seemed ridiculous. However, those with bakkoto were often outcasts and labeled as criminals, so he may be pandering to those shunned and targeted by Soul Society. Either that or Lord Callus had his own moral compass that he pressed forward. Douma had no way of knowing considering that the identity of Callus was shrouded in mystery. He was a name that all underworld affairs seemed to be tied to, and that was all that nearly everyone understood. Douma hoped to find more.

And so he made his way to Tokyo. With so many spiritually aware people traveling to the city just as he was, Douma was certain that there would be individuals capable of identifying him as another rogue shinigami. Xcution and Soul Society would surely have a presence, as well as maybe Uzaki Enterprise if Kazura Uzaki felt curious and reckless. Kayneth Wayne might also take interest in the Japanese city. It’s certain that there would be several key players present in Tokyo, and something big was going to happen.

When Douma arrived at the Japanese capital, he decided to head to one the biggest tourist destinations in Tokyo: the Imperial Palace. He leaned calmly against the side of the bridge leading into the palace, appreciating the view of the calm water through his mask as visitors, both spiritual and non-spiritual passed him by, shooting him strange glances. He kept his ears open to any chatter, but the main purpose of stopping by the Imperial Palace was that it was near the heart of downtown Tokyo. His energy sensory extended out for miles, and he kept tabs on any significant reiatsu influxes across the city. There were already several people he noticed with the raw spiritual strength of at least a Vice Captain, but no major spiritual flex had caught his attention. Not yet, at least. But there certainly would be one coming soon.

What was it he was supposed to feel? Wonder? Intrigue? Suspense? Walking into this room and standing here, face to face with the man who was credited as the master of the Bakkoto, Garret could only feel one thing as he looked at this thing called Lord Callus. It wasn't fear that he felt. It wasn't dread. No, staring up at this imitation of a human Garret could only feel an overwhelming presence, like a great weight had come down upon him from the air. His eye narrowed from beneath his hood as he reached up, pulling the wet fabric from atop his head. Seeing Lord Callus now, Garret was perfectly aware of what he was standing before. Looking at Callus felt no different than looking at a Hollow. He was evil. If evil could take on form it would be him. Garret had never felt so much power before. How could some obtain that much power?

"Hello there Garret. Tsubaki," when he spoke the swordsman turned his head slightly, gazing at the newly arrived woman whose name must have been Tsubaki. He found himself looking at her longer than he should have, something about her just catching his attention...though he didn't know what it was. Garret picked up on the excitement in Callus's voice, surprising actually considering his extended period of time away from other people. It just went to show how excited Lord Callus was for these two to be standing before him. "You've come far to meet me, haven't you?" The Rogue kept his mouth shut, seeing no point to answering that question.

Anyone in the room who looked at the Rogue could see how worn out he was. The unkept beard upon his face, those tired eyes, the dirty bandages wrapped around his forehead, the dirt across what skin could be seen. Garret looked like a man who hadn't ever seen a shower in a long time. Pretty obvious too considering how badly he smelled. "I'll get to my point... I can give both of you what you want... Could he? As the cursed swordsman stood, watching and listening, he was beginning to grow more and more aware of the fact that Lord Callus was not something he wished to be involved with. This thing that pretended to be human could not give him what he wanted.

"For the one, a remedy to your curse. For the other, the ability to research and unlock every secret life has to offer...and every secret death has, too. In exchange...? You know what I want. Allegiance... A replication of the experiment that is Team Josai." Garret blinked. A...remedy to the Osen? Such an offer was not expected, and indeed did catch the Swordsman off guard. Unexpectingly he began to feel a new emotion as the thoughts of the nighly battles would end. He blinked, staring off at Callus as he began to consider the offer. To finally be free of this curse. To finally be able to rest.

Within those burnt hands so closely cupped together, the flame would did not once waver

"No." Garret suddenly said and breaking the silence between the three with his answer. That flame did not waver when the possibility of a cure was offered. That anger did not submit. He could not live without his Osen. He could not live without the anger. He would not relinquish what brought them to him. There was no doubt, no what ifs, in his answer. He was perfectly sure this was what he wanted. "Unless there is more to this gathering then I would like to leave."

[Kento Waffles]

"You're stronger than the last two.." a voice suddenly spoke behind Douma. "AHAHA! I'd love the chance to break you." The speaker came forward to stand next to Douma, revealing himself to be a man with black hair and a nasty look on his face. As with Tsubaki and Garret before her, this man was Kuruna Orenoshi. A man who seemed to be everywhere at once, though this wasn't a detail that Douma would be aware of just yet, since, of course, he hadn't seen Garret and Tsubaki greeted by Kuruna either. Still, for Kuruna to be able to do this was a scary feat. And it was not one which would go undiscovered for very long, because Kuruna soon started taking Douma to Callus.

Strangely enough, as with Tsubaki, Kuruna would refuse to answer any questions simply by holding his silence as they went to Callus. There was a difference in treatment, with some receiving silence and others receiving the option to ask questions. But Douma wouldn't be aware of that difference in treatment, at least not yet. It all served a special purpose, but one to which he was not privy to the knowledge of. And, as they began entering the building that was Callus's, and began descending toward the huge mausoleum that was the man's lair, that was when Kuruna would speak once more. "You're really strong..." he said. "I can sense how strong you are. I really hope you'll consider us."

Back at Garret and Tsubaki, the one with the curse had made his decision. Gazing down from his high seated area, the evil one that had called them all there didn't look even remotely surprised or perturbed. He didn't particularly look amused either, actually. Unlike the likes of Sonken Kouhai who would have found some sort of amusement, or the Emperor of the Vandenreich who would have already known the answer to begin with, Callus was an immovable stone. A decayed old man who was somehow so powerful, but was the embodiment of true evil. "Very well," Callus said. "You may leave. Kuruna, show him out." It was then that Kuruna would appear once more out of the shadows, despite also standing next to Tsubaki and Garret already.

Yes, two of him. The huge doors to the place opened up, and Kuruna began leading Garret out, but for some last words from Callus before Garret's departure. "Oh, but take this chance to rest a day or two in the city. There are no Hollows here, and you surely can't fight an endless war like yours when you're tired like that. Take some time to recuperate." An oddly concerned thing for Callus to say, but who knew what games he was playing? Either way, Garret would get to be led out of the building. In fact, he and Douma would pass one another on the way in versus the way out. That was when they would both be able to notice multiple things.

Garret and Douma would both notice the Kuruna next to each of them as well as the one still in the mausoleum. Three of him now. Furthermore, Garret would notice that Douma himself was quite powerful, maybe strong enough to go toe to toe with Kuruna or even defeat him. Meanwhile, Douma would now for the first time experience the absolute terror that was Callus's unspeakable power. Though Garret was bade to leave, and would exit out the building into the bright city and the rain, Douma would enter the mausoleum by Tsubaki, and would find himself facing Callus, and find himself near two of Kuruna as well. And... for Douma, there would be something all too familiar about Callus.

"And, what of you?" Callus asked Tsubaki. He kicked his feet a little in the bowl of wine that the dog-like men continued lapping out of. Callus sneered a little, and then spoke again. "I live like an evil king, I know," he said. "I acknowledge that you despise me. That you see me as evil. BUT THINK of all the SECRETS that you could unlock by aligning with me. What I did... It made you stronger, don't you think? Now you're ready to open yourself to the WORLD's secrets! No, the UNIVERSE!" He said this with much more energy than he normally would have anything else, as if actually excited. Perhaps he really was excited. After all, how could one who was forming his own powerhouse team not be excited?

Douma would be privy to Tsubaki's response. And, after whatever Tsubaki's response was, Callus would address Douma next. "Oh, it's you... Kagami Murai..." A sneer from Callus. "It's been a long time. Douma now, right? You've done so well with the start that I gave you! I am impressed at how powerful you've grown in this short span of time." Callus knew him. And more importantly, Callus said he had given Douma his start. Indeed, for now Douma could see.. Though it had been masked then, the aura of his mysterious benefactor had been the same as this one. The one responsible for his plunging into the underworld. Lord Callus. This man before him, who had set him on his current path after the events with Adalo De-Mona.

Meanwhile, outside, Kuruna left Garret to his own whims, only saying, "It's too bad... You would've been fun!" And then following that up with a snicker. This left Garret alone and to his own devices. However, as he walked away, his humanity was to be challenged. There weren't many people in this wet, rainy area for some reason, but there was a young girl crossing the street, a girl who couldn't be more than 11 or 12 years of age. And coming for her was a swerving car, speeding at over a hundred miles per hour as she crossed the street. Maybe the driver was drunk. Maybe the rain made it hard for him to stop. But he was going to hit her. In that moment, her eyes widened and she held up her hands reflexively, ready to be hit. And now Garret had a choice.

[Tsubaki Shiba]

The Rogue got a good read on her instantly, picking up on her scientific mind. Or maybe it was because she was still in a fucking labcoat, and the idiot wasn't blind? The fact he paused though suggested he had done so via mind reading, as had the familiar pricking sensation she felt in her frontal lobe. Tsubaki was no stranger to mind reading. She used to be capable of it herself. Now, she only had the most basic versions of it with her energy sensory.

"Yes, I am a scientist." She said, almost automatically, with a robotic tinge to her voice, treating his statement as if it was a question. Tsubaki sometimes struggled with social interactions, especially with new people, especially with new people that she admired, especially with new people that she admired whose bosses had tried to kill her in the past. Trust me, it happened more often than you might think. Still, her voice had a respectful note to it. She wanted Team Josai to like her.

The man was silent during their journey, something that Tsubaki liked, and that she didn't bother trying to solve. Why ask him questions if he was content to enjoy the silence? After all, unlike some people, she was polite enough to recognize that when people weren't talking, it was likely because they didn't want to speak. They took backroads, through alleyways, and entered a warehouse, totally empty. Tsubaki noted mentally the address of the warehouse, but also recognized the ephemeral nature of Lord Callus' operation. It wouldn't be here in a week, why bother concealing the headquarters.

They descended a set of stairs, into a massive basement, styled like a mausoleum. A place of the dead. How fitting, given the nature of Callus. The man who would've been Captain Commander, who could've been a monster, but was stopped by those who knew him too well to allow him to gain such power. Tsubaki's memories on the nature of Callus were hazy, but she did remember his Bakkoto quite well. On her worst nights, the Bakkoto was all that she could remember. The strongest Bakkoto made by the Kasumi'Oji clan: Labyrinth Archangel.

The power of Lord Callus was obvious, and although he wasn't flexing his reiatsu, he wasn't bothering to hide it either. In his prime, he would've been able to give Satsujun a run for his money, that was for sure. Whether or not that would still be true, Tsubaki lacked the information to guess. But his reiatsu was on that same tier, and the difference between that tier and Team Josai was as massive as the difference between Tsubaki and Josai. She wouldn't be able to even annoy him.

And yet, seeing him, the urge to kill still rose within her. The extravagance of his throne, the strange liquid he was soaking his feet in, the naked people surrounding him, the way he spoke to Tsubaki and Garret (apparenlty the name of the other Rogue who entered the room with her). He still was a monster, through and through. And ultimately, even though she had wandered very far from the path, deep in her heart she was still a shinigami. She still was tasked with killing monst–

The vision struck her suddenly. A conversation with Lord Callus as she methodically walked the city walls. A....pleasant one. Civil. He apologized for what she was going through, but spoke of self defense. Of necessary evils. Of the fundamental brokenness of Soul Society. He pleaded with her to back down, to stop. But she continued. Her destruction was her own doing. At least, that's what these memories depicted. But her memories had been changed twice so far, and she had no way of knowing whether or not what she was was real.

She dismissed the vision to be evaluated further later. Garret spoke first, trading words with Callus, turning down his offer. It was once Garret left the room, and Callus turned his attention to her, that things got unpleasant. His voice was as grating as she remembered, and ever so often, the volume would spike, causing explosions of pain behind her eyes. "Please," she said, her voice shaking with barely controllable, entirely murderous, rage, interrupting him as he offered her SECRETS, "be wary of your voice. It hurts me to hear it so loud. The labyrinth, your labyrinth, took something from me, and if you keep shouting, I won't be able to control myself."

Once he finished his offer, however, she considered it. And, for reasons that it would take her years to explain to anyone, she nodded. "You are a monster. You revel in your villainy. It would take a fool to mistake your actions for anything else. But ultimately, Evil doesn't really matter to me. Success, results, those matter. If you can offer those, then you have my interest. I fear I cannot guarantee my loyalty, but you will have my cooperation, in exchange for power, and the ability to continue my research. I also need your help restructuring my fragmented mind, and doing the best possible job in restoring my stolen memories."

There was of course the problem of her Xcution contract, and Satsujun's personal interest in her life, for reasons she didn't know. But that was Callus' problem now, caveat emptor. 

She would join this Powerhouse Team. 

[Kitai Yoru]

Kitai was a man of simple wants in life. "Where the h#ll are the horns on this d@mn thing?" He loved being in the moment, to live life the way it want meant to be lived. "Found 'em!" He really only wanted to see all the different things life held, so that he could give a good story for when he finally died. "*Loud air horn noises* AAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAA!" He.... Ugh, why does someone as brilliant as myself have to narrate over the failed abortion that was you? "Hahahaha! Cause you're too weak ta kill me!
