"You're not like them, right...? You want power, don't you? Well that guy, Shiratori? He used to be a Kawada... I know because I'm one, too. And Shiratori killed one of our Captains. But before he did, I know he learned the Kawada secret of where Jinbei kept his most forbidden techniques... Techniques that haven't been seen in over a thousand years! And if you save me, I'll tell you how to get him to lead you to them... And how to kill Shiratori, too..."
Everybody seemed to think they understood Douma. This shinigami assumed that the Angel of Silence was nothing like Shiratori or Mumei, but even Douma wasn’t certain about that. They were all monsters, but this man seemed to believe that there was something more to Douma. Still, the promise of secret Kawada techniques was interesting. Douma had business returning to the Kawada Manor anyway. He had an item that he needed to extract, a black pyramid that could open a portal to hell. Saeki desired it, but Douma might just keep it to himself.
The rogue didn’t verbally accept the offer. Instead, he began rescuing the shinigami’s life. The burns were troublesome, but the priority was stopping the man’s bleeding. Fortunately, Douma was more than capable of such a task. However, in order to use his bakkoto to save the soul reaper’s life, he would need to build some distance from Callus and Team Josai. Douma summoned a long serpent beside him using no reiatsu at all, only life force. That way, no one would be able to detect the activation of the technique through energy sensory.
The creature, spawned through the technique Shokan: Dark Knife, was fast. Using its strength, the monster gently lifted the shinigami’s body and slowly set him on its back, where Douma sat beside him. The creature then took off, gradually accelerating until it hit its maximum speed of 1100. After just a few minutes, Douma and the kido corps member were already out of Tokyo, slowly gliding above the more rural Japanese lands. And the entire time that they flew, Douma had taken off his cloak and cutting in into patches of cloth with his blade.
Now that they were away from possible enemies, Douma activated his bakkoto. At his class three level, he created a black zone that engulfed the entire wyvern. In this area, Douma was able to shift weight, and he did so very carefully. He transferred no more than a few pounds from the wyvern to the each patch of cloth, placing them on the shinigami’s open wounds. Anywhere where blood came out now had a cloth applying pressure and stopping the bleeding. It wouldn’t heal the man, but it would at least buy him time. A few hours, maybe. He had more severe injuries that would need tending to.
After tending to the shinigami’s injuries, Douma pulled out a device that looked similar to a generic smart phone. The telephone conversation was short. “You’re done in Tokyo. Come to my location as soon as possible. Bring no one. Do not be followed.” And with that, Douma hung up. Now, all that the soul reaper could do was wait for the mysterious individual on the other end of the phone or pray that his body could recover on its own now that the bleeding had stopped.
