(OOC: Blatant repost but whatevs)
Imagine wandering through a mountain path, densely shrouded in mist. A single wrong step could cause you to fumble to your death, and although the road isn't intentionally narrow, it's not forgiving. You cannot see, and instead you must rely on your other senses, which are similarly limited by your environment in numerous other ways. Each step is a cautious one, and makes you fear the worst. Eventually, once you scale the mountain, and enjoy the peak, you come to a horrific realization:
You'll have to descend it as well.
Imagine you do so, and do it successfully, and by the time you reach the bottom, you're glad to be alive, glad you descended this way rather than the more easily doable method, which is falling to your death. But for whatever reason, you'll need to return to this mountain soon. It'll be shrouded again. And once more, you'll traverse it up and down safely. You'll do it so many times it becomes second nature, and your senses matter less and less.
The thing that matters is your memory.
Your memory is your greatest tool, your greatest weapon, and it saves you from day to day horrors. It allows you to grow more powerful than anyone else could've imagined, and it comes to define you like nothing else could. Your experiences, your stories, they all shape you into being the figure that you are, and people know you based on your actions which are based on your past. Everything comes from your memories, you owe them everything.
So imagine how much it would hurt if someone stole them from you.
She had spent New Year's alone, which shouldn't have surprised her, shouldn't have hurt, but it did regardless. Parties would be too noisy for her to attend, and she didn't have any friends who she was close enough to to ask them to abandon the party scene and spend time with her alone. Not to mention that she didn't really care about any of the people in her life right now, other than a utility function that many provided. Being isolated was something that she didn't mind.
Then why had it hurt so much? She had put on 4'33", cracked open American Gods for the umptieenth time, and tried to forget the rest of the night. Forgetting was an action that hurt her in particular, because, strangely enough, the more she tried to forget, the more memories invaded her mind. And that night, she'd remembered her Squad for the first time in a long time, remembered her trusted seated officers, remembered fighting with them and for them.
This had to end. All of this had to end. She needed to escape the prison that was her own mind, clear out the wreckage that her captors, both Callus and Soul Society alike, had left scattered across her once beautiful memories, she had to bring back the real Tsubaki Shiba, who lived somewhere deep within. And as the fireworks exploded in the sky, marking the beginning of something new, Tsubaki wiped her eyes, and was somewhat glad that she was alone tonight, and didn't have to explain her current state to friends.
And then Tsubaki went to bed, fell asleep, and forgot once more. She forgot her resolution to move on, she forgot her decision to get better, she forgot the realization that she was lonely, and the feeling of forgetting in the first place. She put all of that behind her, locking it away in another corner of her mind, to be discovered and suffered once again. And the Tsubaki Shiba that woke up the next day was the same one that her fellow members of Xcution had grown to know.
January 7th 8:47:38 PM Qinghai, China
The fact that she had been chosen to go on this mission struck her as a misjudgement on the part of Xcution. She wasn't great with parties, given her mental condition. On the other hand, research wise, she was likely one of the best spiritual experts that Xcution had on staff, even with her memories sealed like this. Not to mention she was a woman who could handle her own, and thus would work well when paired with people who weren't particularly good at teamwork, like most of Xcution.
The air was cold, but she'd dealt with way worse in the past. The only thing that made the situation more uncomfortable was her clothing. One of the few nice dresses that she owned, but it wasn't particularly warm. The dress was black, but it's darkness seemed to be almost consuming, as if light was being devoured by just being near it. Decorating the oblivion, however, were tiny dots of light, that anyone who stared at the dress for more than a few moments would recognize as stars.
Tsubaki had let her hair down, and put on her best smile, she needed to be a convincing actor this mission. And although seeing her reflection gave her strange pangs of forlorn longing that she didn't understand, it was worth the pain. Of course, she couldn't exactly fix her voice, but she could stay quiet and let her partners do the talking. The idiots at the party likely wouldn't be the type that she wanted to talk with anyways. She remembered her dislike of Noble Parties back in her Soul Society days in a distant way, but it still held true.
As she approached the meeting spot, Tsubaki bowed her head slightly. "Sorry for my tardiness, my flight landed a minute later than expected, which threw off the rest of the expected calculations. Unfortunate that Xcution can't control the winds yet." She gave a small shrug, and a practiced chuckle. It sounded odd to her, even though she knew that it was within an acceptable margin of error of normalcy. Perhaps she just hadn't laughed in so long that it sounded unnatural.
"Shall we?" She offered her arm towards one of her partners, and letting them take the lead. She wasn't a senior operative, and had little experience with this type of infiltration, so she'd just follow the lead of those more qualified to do this task. She was here for tactical support, as well as big guns if it came down to that. She was here to allow them to blend in. She wasn't here for herself, she was here for Xcution. Satsujun had saved her, and now she was repaying him in the only way she could. And maybe, somehow, that would help her in the long run.

"You know you need to do this, right? You're one of the most capable employees."
"You mean 'assassin,' don't you?"
"Shizuka, darling, don't look at me with those eyes. But don't look away, either. I would never send you on this mission if I didn't believe you were skilled enough."
"I just really don't know if this is a good idea... The target used to be one of us."
"That's right. And now they are not. Sacrifices must be made to preserve the well-being of the organization."
"Well-being? You mean to help us cover up our mistakes?"
"Oh, Sweetie... You and I both know you love Xcution and support what they do. Don't you forget what I've taught you all these years. Don't forget your purpose. Besides, I will be with you in spirit. You can absolutely always count on me, no matter what."
Shizuka smiled, then stepped forward to accept an offered embrace. "Thanks, Aunt Momo. I guess I'm just a little nervous... But you're right. I can't forget any of that. I shouldn't view myself as an assassin. I need to view myself as a hero!"
"That's my girl," Momoko said, returning her niece's smile with a soft chuckle. _________________________________________________________________________________________
The sounds of her golden designer heels clapping against the ground where she stepped echoed across Shizuka's brain. She had a calm expression which was different from her usual, overly-excited self. She was attempting to be more professional but it was difficult when everything was so cold. Shizuka even had warm dress pants on and a stylish coat with her signature purple and silver star on the back, but she didn't weigh a whole lot so she barely had any natural insulation. She got cold easily and couldn't avoid it, so she found it hard to act excited about anything at that point.
The Xcution Fullbringer had been called out on a mission because a former Xcution member decided to go rogue and split from the organization. They were in need of someone who could utilize every possible power they had, and Shizuka was one of their choices. She had no idea who the others would be, but she was very interested in finding out. There was a certain kind of excitement that built up inside her that almost boiled over as she approached the meeting spot. Even though her face wasn't showing much emotion, that was just because she could hardly move it.
The fact is, Shizuka was normally always a very excited person. She hated being sad so she constantly pushed that emotion to the side and found ways to always think of the positives. She knew when to be more professional, of course, and she was okay with that. She had felt sadness before and hated it, which is why she adopted this type of perspective. She didn't block out the emotion completely, but more so that she tried to understand why she felt that way and move on as quickly as possible. Besides, no one wants to be sad all the time! It causes aging!
Despite that, it didn't change the fact that it was cold. Any emotion she had was more internal now since expressing it was harder, but she did her best to not look like she hated everything because of it. Shizuka's hair was pulled back in a ponytail, making it easier to keep the strands out of her eyes so she wouldn't be fiddling with it the whole time. She loved her long hair, especially since it was golden blonde and reached down to her waist. It was thick and fill and lovely, but just so annoying when it came to windy days. That was okay, though. Hair ties fixed everything!
Every second that passed meant she was getting closer to her destination. Her flight had been earlier to avoid and delays or issues, which didn't even become a concern for her. She was thankful for that since being late to meeting times was extremely frowned upon. If you weren't early, you were late. That was not good. But, then again, Shizuka was a seasoned assassin. She was always on time and never had any problems with it, which was great because Xcution considered her a highly regarded member and extremely valuable. Then again, all of the Seven Guns were valuable.
While distracting herself with daydreams, Shizuka made the travel time seem significantly shorter. She approached the area where she needed to be with ease, silently thanking whoever was listening to her for keeping her safe and not encountering many people. Blondes weren't exactly super common in China, and she did not look Chinese. She barely even looked Japanese since more of her Italian heritage came through. No one was really super violent in China unless they had a reason to be, but it was mostly because she hated confrontation and was considerably socially introverted.
And, of course, she ended up meeting someone she'd never met before. Some time had passed since her arrival and another woman walked closer to her. She bowed her head slightly towards Shizuka and Shizuka returned the gesture. Her face was new, but she appeared friendly enough. The Fullbringer assumed she was in Xcution since this mission was supposed to stay within Xcution's organization, but something about her seemed a little off. Shizuka spent a small amount of time analyzing her, noticing some bits of falseness here and there. However, she chose to ignore them. Because, really, who wasn't going to try to put on a small show upon first meeting someone, right?
"Sorry for my tardiness, my flight landed a minute later than expected, which threw off the rest of the expected calculations. Unfortunate that Xcution can't control the winds yet." The girl said, offering a shrug and a less-than-enthusiastic chuckle.
"You have nothing to worry about." So she is with Xcution. That's good, Shizuka thought. "Besides, I believe we're missing someone, anyway. By the way, I don't think we've met! My name is Shizuka Sanamizu. It's a pleasure!"
By then, hopefully they would have a full group gathered. Shizuka believed it was best to get going, and the other woman must have agreed because she offered to start heading out and allowed Shizuka to take her arm, to which the Fullbringer accepted. She wasn't sure how experienced this girl was, but she was determined to make sure she didn't get hurt if she could help it. Even though this was just an 'infiltrate and recover' mission, the target was a former Xcution member. They weren't going to give up without some kind of trouble.
[Honeypotting - The art of manipulation to obtain information. Basically, a girl gathers enough information about her target - male or female, doesn't matter - and dresses accordingly or changes how she acts to be able to get them to do whatever she wants or tell her what she needs to hear.] {3}
A trap designed to kill a rat involves a bait and the instrument that is meant to snap the rat's neck when the rat came for the bait. Why would a human rat be any different. Watching a rat die from a trap due to its own greed is no different than watching a person die because they choose to betray their own people. Those were the thoughts that wandered through out Pavel's head as traveled to the destination that was set. They were going to kill a traitor at a manor in China. This was reason why Pavel had chosen to arrive in China the day before and take the time to adjust to the setting, making sure he was not jetlagged and that he was prepped for the mission the next day. The closer he was to the destination that they were meeting his day dreaming became more frequent. As the manor grew closer, the closer he knew he was to meeting the other agents that were sent on this mission.
When it was clear where they were meeting, Pavel stepped out of the vehicle he arrived. The Major was dressed in his former XSG attire. A black silk suit jacket, matching pants, dress shoes, plain white dress shirt, and a blood red tie. With every tap, he approached the two other women. The man's hair was slicked back, and over his head was R.O.O.T. that allowed him to even perfect the disguise even further. His eyes light blue with the contacts he had brought along. His general face colored with makeup to appear more chinese and a fake smile. His skills in disguise and acting were among the greatest in the world. And this allowed him to hide in plain sight. He could act like anyone, create a persona to match the disguise, and hide under a lot of placed walls so that no one would ever know who Pavel really was. With a perfect Chinese accent he walked towards the two women, who had just gotten done with their greetings.
"Ladies. Ladies! Please excuse me for my tardiness. Live in the city that you are born in. How could I be so silly. I hope I did not keep you both waiting too long." He bowed to them and chuckled a little. With a little pat he ensured that he had his syringe with him at all times. "I'm sure you will understand why I am greeting you like this yes? Security and all." Unlike his actual personality, this disguise was very bubbly and happy to greet them. It is a complete change from what Pavel would normally act like. "My name is Yuang Tang. And it is an honor for me to accompany such lovely ladies during this job." "Lets kill this guy so we can go home..."[/i] Pavel thought as he gazed at what the manor looked like.
[OOC] Blah. Shit post is shit. Sorry.
Also Kek. No one else posted their stats and shizz.
Once all of the agents arrived in the parking lot, they would need to remember the mission they had been given. This was one of not only grave importance to Xcution, but was also going to require an extra level of caution. They each received the same briefing, the same information, a briefing that they were instructed to remember. "Alright, listen up because I only want to say this once. This is a mission that you're going to need to not only get done quickly but also perfectly. Thirty-six hours ago we had a link. Somebody tapped into the Military branches private information network and downloaded highly classified information, of which contained the location of numerous Xcution headquarters throughout the globe. As I am sure you're well aware, if our enemies were to acquire this information we could be facing a repeat of the Discord crisis." Shinji explaind, adjusting his glasses via his middle finger.
"The leak itself is an internal affair, so Corporate will be handling that end of the problem. Luckily for us, though, the information was not uploaded onto the internet but rather traded off to another individual via a hard drive, meaning a physical copy of the data exists. We're unaware if the individual behind the leak still possesses his own copy of the data, but that isn't your mission. This-" Shinji paused so that the screen behind him would illuminate, showing not only a picture of a man of mixed Latino American and indigenous origins, but various other bits of information like; his height, weight, personality, career history. "Is Carlos Oliveira. Military Branch Rank Two. Oliveira was a good soldier, however according to the Human Resources representative he was talking to he was under a lot of stress over the assignments he had been given.
Even though he was cleared for field work, it seems that working in the Middle East caused him to undergo these actions. This is the man that the anonymous leak has given the hard drive to. Oliveira released his Fullbring against his Military branch team, as well as a Corporate representative, injuring four and killing two." Shinji explained, sitting back in his chair and looking at the agent sitting in front of him. "We don't believe that Oliveira is working alone in this matter, either. His records and personality tests showed that he isn't the person to take risks at all. He wasn't qualified to lead, only to follow."
"But this is where you will come in. Oliveira is currently in Qinghai, China, at these coordinates. In three days there is going to be a gathering of important world figures, a chance for Greece to attempt to make deals with other nations to acquire more money. For some reason, Oliveira is here and we have a suspicion he is either planning to sell the information or trade it off to someone. We want you, as well as your partners, to infiltrate the manor, eliminate Oliveira and anyone who is aware of the information he is possession of, find and eliminate the stolen information, and find out anything you can in regards to this third party. Carlos could not have gotten into this meeting on his own, there is another group at play here, so be on your toes." Shinji explained to them.
So now, here they were. Standing in the parking lot of the manor, standing amongst each other as other party goers shuffled along around them. Men and women of high standing, of importance, leaving their vehicles to make their way to the front gate guarded by three bouncers. The plan was simple, something that both Pavel and Shizuka had experience with. This would be a learning experience for Tsubaki as well as an opportunity for Xcution to see how she performed in the field. There were two options in regards to this mission. They could do so quietly, like professional assassins, or they could go guns a blazing. Both options were efficient, but the second would no doubt reveal themselves to a multitude of European and Asian leaders of the world, leading not only to blown cover but the injury or death of these leaders. But now, the first task was to actually get past the three guards and up the long cobblestone path to the house above.
The mansion itself was impressive. It was clearly of oriental design, following the style of the culture of the Chinese. Though they were going to only be able to get a better look once past the gate. The three guards who stood out front were different sizes and builds, oddly. One was tall, another was short, and the other was large. As party goers approached, the three shaded men would stop them and ask for ID, look it over, and then allow them through. How were the three Xcutioners going to get past them? They still had some distance from the guards, quite enough in fact that they probably wouldn't notice them. Party goers were still arriving as well, exiting their cars and slowly making their way up the massive parking lot. So, what were they going to do?

"It looks like we will be I.Ded when we approach those guards." Pavel continued to speak with his Chinese accent. He turned to both Tsubaki and Shizuka before pinching the bridge of his nose an looking at the darkened sky. "So it looks like that this disguise was a waste. At least I didn't throw away the one time usage of R.O.O.T. or else it would have been an utter wase too." Pavel dropped the act because he knew he had to adopt another on when he made it to the gate, unless they planned to have him throw them over the walls and him jump over it, but that would be too supiscious and too risky. So they probably had to go through the front without drawing too muh attention. "Tsubaki, I remember you can go through those guards with no problem. You're probably going to ditch that gigai and waltz right past them. We'll probably carry your gigai in 'had a little bit of fun on the way here. She's gonna take a breather on the couch. Yeah?' something like that to be our cover for holding an "unconscous person."
He then tured to Shizuk and observe what he was wearing. "We can go the traditional 'Man and Woman' couple type of deal in order to sneak past the guards. No invitation may mean we will be denied immediatly so that is iffy. This guy also was former Military. He should have a general idea as to how some of the Majors are. So he may grow suspiscious if he even caught a hint of me being here. So I may have to use R.O.O.T. to get in and remain in the party without suspicious eyes following me. I am not into stealth, I never was. I can become anyone and act the role, disappearing in croweds. But I can't be soft." he was whispering these things to the two women before they began their way there.
"A male and two other females will leave out one guy. So why not even it out and I use R.O.O.T. to appear like a woman. You know that saying of 'Sex Sells' yes? Let's play that out. Now if you would only give me a moment." With that spoken he walked away and hid himself behind a parked vehicle. With R.O.O.T he used his only transformation to completely become a different person, it was as if the wig had processed and created false skin, tigtened muscles and created a second layer over the official layer and becoming a second skin to him. With the change Pavel's target identity was a tall, slender women of 6 foot 8 with long, dark green hair, her dress shows designs of a peacock.
With this change in identity Pavel returned to the two other women and smiled nonchalantly and gestured for them to go first. "Obviously real women should go first. I'll follow behind and take what you don't want." the way Pavel spoke with this disguise was very articulated and elegant. It was like a smooth stream from his mouth to their ears.

Shizuka's entire facial expression changed almost immediately as soon as she saw the man approach the group. Tsubaki probably wouldn't see it but Shizuka knew from the moment she noticed his presence that Pavel was abusing a disguise. It had been so long since she'd seen Pavel and this was a slightly disappointing reunion. Shizuka's jaw dropped and her face read pure shock that he actually believed anyone would ever fall for his get-up. But as soon as she noticed that only she could tell the difference between who he really was and his disguise, she began to wonder if she was just good at picking up on subtle habits. This was definitely Pavel.
The former Xcution Seven Guns member approached their small group before Shizuka got the chance to drag Tsubaki along and take her to their initial mission area by the mansion. She was impressed with his transfer and the fact that he became a major in the military, but that didn't make him any less formidable. The blonde woman swept her hair back behind her shoulders and greeted the man using his real name. She had nothing to lose since no one would notice who she was talking about, anyway. Everyone else was moving around them with their busy lives and all but ignoring the group.
"Pavel, you aren't fooling anyone. Or maybe it's just me. Either way, you may need to reconsider your methods to entering the building. I can get Tsubaki and myself in because of girl power, but you may prove to be more difficult. Can you handle yourself?"
Shizuka didn't expect Tsubaki to know who Pavel was, but that was fine. If she did know him, that was great! If not, they could meet each other later. Shizuka was confident in her abilities with infiltrating the mansion because of her 'skills' with people and convincing them that she was perfectly safe to handle. Pavel, on the other hand, was unstable and dangerous when it came to things like this. That's not to say he was bad at it at all, because he definitely wasn't. It's just that he liked the more violent approach so Shizuka worried that he would turn around and try to kill someone.
Fortunately, Pavel recognized that his disguise wasn't going to work the way he originally intended. He surrendered himself to Tsubaki and Shizuka and started trying to come up with ways to get by the guards. Shizuka felt silly because she totally didn't realize Tsubaki was a Mod Soul. She was a Mod Soul, right? Mod Souls use a gigai. Oh, wait. She couldn't tell, actually. But could anyone blame her? Shizuka had no energy sensory. She could only feel very basic things like that someone was somewhere but not much more unless they flexed. The blonde sighed. Well, at least Tsubaki had a way through that was relatively safe.
Pavel changed his image from a man to a rather convincing woman, obviously showing Shizuka that he was ready to go. The Fullbringer had the intentions of taking Tsubaki's body into the mansion since she could sweet talk her way through anything, and Pavel would just have to follow them with his own plan. Shizuka could try to offer Pavel up as one of her friends since that may allow him access, but she wasn't very sure if it would work. Regardless, it was worth a shot at the very least. Shizuka let Tsubaki do gigai things and then took her body, carrying it princess-style if she truly did give up her gigai. Afterwards, she made her way over to the guards as she displayed just enough concern over Tsubaki, partnered with her heavy intention to flirt.
"Excuse me," Shizuka interrupted as the guards spoke to another party guest. They let the guest go and turned their attention towards Shizuka. "I have a bit of a problem. I was hoping to make it inside the gathering with my girlfriend here, but my girlfriend here seems to have fainted... Could one of you men help a lady out? I'm sure you're both extremely busy and I completely understand if you can't, but do you think you could spare just a minute? My friend behind me was helping me take care of her."
Sure enough, Shizuka's entire demeanor changed. Normally she's very outgoing and excited, but now she seemed more shy and reserved. She gripped Tsubaki's body and pulled her closer, acting highly defensive. Shizuka batted her eyelashes and looked downwards timidly. She was partly being flirtatious in the way that she spoke to the guards and partly acting as if she and Tsubaki were 'close.' Her words said she was scared and worried, but her tone said she really, desperately needed help and only these guards were capable of doing what she wanted.
Normally, the guards would help a poor, innocent girl. That was something she was banking on. Aside from her assumptions, she was known for her manipulation abilities and how they benefited her most in her job as an assassin. She was the number one girl when it came to getting information because she could convince anyone to do anything for her no matter what it was due to her flirtatious side. She never really intended to act on anything she said, though, so her spoken reputation was very different from her personal one. She didn't care much about status, though. it was her job.
Shizuka looked back at Pavel in his female disguise. It was a shame that he had to use R.O.O.T. for something like this, especially if he could only use it once. There were other disguises that may have been more efficient in the future, but it was his choice. Shizuka couldn't really disagree with what he wanted to do. Besides, he was a Major now. He had to have an idea for some kind of plan that he wanted to carry out, so if he thought of something that would actually work, Shizuka had no place disagreeing with him. She would do whatever it took to help, including carry a lifeless gigai.
