Zahra's jump was successful. She landed on him and her claws dug into him deep enough for her to hang on and she bit into his neck. She only bit in deep enough to barely prick the skin. He roared so loud when she landed on her that she expected the same thing to happen again when she was able to actually bite him. Instead, he was actually standing still, which she knew wasn't a good thing for her. She felt his tail wrap around her throat. It was then that her teeth grabbed down harder in reflex, ripping a bit from the pull of the tail.
She grabbed for the tail, trying to get some space between the tail and throat. It worked, but not before he was pulling her off and getting ready to throw her. She knew if she really fought against this, she could hurt him worse. So, holding onto the tail, she kept a good grip on it while he tried to fling her off of him. He uncurled his tail, but she kept a tight hold on it. So, instead of her getting flung a few feet away, she held on and felt a pull from the force.
But, she was able to keep her grip on his tail, so she stayed close by. Her right arm was hurting from the pull, but it was nothing that she couldn't handle. She looked at him, grabbing another throwing knife with her left hand, and was ready to throw one at him again. This time, however, when he stood there, she noticed a change in his eyes and cocked her head to the right. What was going on with him? It was the weirdest thing she's ever seen. He looked normal in the eyes again.
She stood up, keeping her knife at the ready while he checked himself over and looked at her. He then said he was a true monster. "Not know about that. But, you otter. I 'member. You did earlier, you mark me. You know that? It what family did to mark part of family, that we belong." She then started yipping with a few barks. She was curious if he completely understood what she said. She took a few steps closer to him, still ready for anything. She wasn't going to let her guard down yet.
