Thread Title: Which is the True Beast Participants: Qaletaqa vs Zahra World: Soul Society Death Setting: Non Death Enabled Rating: R Location: On the outskirts of Soul Society in the wilderness. A grass covered valley that holds no trees yet the grass is four feet in height making it easy to hide within. Special Conditions: N/A Circumstances: Qaletaqa is out in the wilderness completely alone until someone else finds him and everything just goes wrong.
Yet another lonely day in the wilderness with nearly nothing to do. Why was he cursed? Why was he unable to be near others when all he ever wanted was to protect? It wasn't fair and it had been going on for far to long. Maybe his time even in this second life wasn't meant to succeed in anything and he should just end it all right now and prevent further sorrow. Qaletaqa was standing in the middle of such high grass just thinking over everything about himself. Nothing was far to him, but he couldn't abandon the other beast out of his own selfish curse.
He hadn't seen another soul in nearly two weeks and for once he felt like just chancing an encounter with someone else in order to free him from his sorrow. That wouldn't do he had tried everything he could think of in the past and nothing ever kept him from blacking out and killing everything. Letting out a sigh Qaletaqa starred out in the distance at a high white tower that he knew was at the Shinigami Capital. That was his goal to stop them and gain back the freedom and lands of the beasts like him.
Zahra was in the Rukongai districts, stealing yet again. She didn't know why she did it, but it was something for her to do. She gets bored way too easily, so she just stole to pass the time. It was something golden this time. It was a small little golden piece of metal. She looked behind her and the people were still running. So, she used her speed to get a fair bit ahead of them and then made her way up in a tree. They passed by her tree, not even looking up. She chuckled to herself.
It seemed like they never looked up when she managed to disappear. She looked it over and decided that it was good enough to add to her hair. She pulled her ponytail over, and arranging all the other gold pieces in her hair, she added this one. Once she was satisfied with it, she let her ponytail hang back behind her. She gave the people a good five minutes. While she was up there, she scratched lightly at the bark of the tree, grabbing a piece of bark to chew.
Once the people ran back towards their section, she quickly jumped down the tree. She started to wander back into the wilderness. The wilderness always seemed to comfort her. She did, in a way, miss the deserts of where she had grown up, but she was getting used to all the trees. She looked down at her hands and made sure her claws were still sharp. She always made sure they were sharp enough for her to use. She walked slowly, chewing on her piece of bark.
Until, she smelled something in the air. The scent seemed rather familiar to her, but she almost couldn't remember where it was from. She slowly made her way towards this scent, chewing on her bark and making sure her knives were in arm's reach, which they were. She then hit some tall grass. She thought it must be fate, to have this kind of advantage over whoever was there in this grass. She sank as low to the ground as she could and still keep a good pace.
Using her stealth, she was able to hide fairly well in the grass. After a few minutes of sneaking, she found the person that belonged to the scent. She now remembers why he looked so familiar. It was the animal person that saved her when she was still new here. She flicked the lowest earring on her right ear. It was interesting that they would run into each other again after all this time. But, no matter. She found a lot of nice things that she could pilfer from him.
She slowly sneaked up on him and looked over anything that would be worth stealing. She didn't know if he could smell her or not, but it didn't matter at this point. Even though she recognized him, she doesn't know him and felt no harm in stealing something from him. She saw his tail, with gold pieces on it. They were so large she could use them as armlets or something. So, she inched towards his tail and waited for it to rest. Her tail was twitching from being alert. She lightly grabbed the smallest gold piece on his tail and started to pull it off.
"What is this blasted girl doing here?" Qaletaqa could already smell the scent of some type of female beast that was getting closer and closer to his location. Qaletaqa had a feeling that he had smelled her scent before yet with all the time that he had been in this spirit world it could be nearly an of the beast he met that hadn't already been killed by his curse. Letting out a sigh as he looked outwards at the tower with his tail moving from one side to another Qaletaqa awaited the female not feeling as if running from her would do much good.
The memories of him alive teaching his younger brother how to hunt rushed into his mind. The smile and joy on his brother's face was one of the few things that haunted him worse than the very curse laid upon his soul. Never would that image of dread and death be washed clean from his memory. The sight of his brother dead on the ground eaten alive by the bear that he believed would fall to the skill he had been trained with by Qaletaqa himself. He was cursed for failing him and would remain so for eternity.
She was already so close to him and even now if he chose to run he might lose myself and attack her without her knowing where he was any longer. Maybe this was a blessing maybe she was here to kill him and free him from the curse yet that didn't seem possible nothing like that ever would happen for he was only met to dwell in sorrow for eternity. Although he could smell her scent easily Qaletaqa made note that there was no sound even though now she was just behind him.
The beast couldn't help the sensation that her scent was enticing to him yet fought off the animalistic drive to simply force himself upon her. For now he simply stood as if he knew nothing was happening. It was then that he felt a small touch on his tail and in that instant his tail wrapped around the hand on the female. Turning his head so that his left eye would be able to view her Qaletaqa stared at the female with a look of cold stone. "If you plan on stealing my gold miss I'm sorry, but it won't be allowed."

Zahra watched the tail wrap around her hand while she grabbed for the gold. She stood up then, when he told her that she wouldn't be allowed to steal his gold. She then frowned, down at her hand. But, this man's fur looked different from what she's seen before. She touched it and then touched from the small gold piece down to where it was wrapped around her hand. It felt a lot different. She looked up at him.
"Awww no fun. I try harder. Your fur feels funny." She then yipped a little, not really knowing the next words. She looked up at him and sniffed the air again. She lightly pulled her hand out of his grip and walked straight up to him. She put her hand on his chest and took another sniff. "You smell familiar." She tried to think back on where she could've smelled him before. It was then that she remembered. She looked back up to him, not taking her hand of his chest.
"You save me from wolves." She yipped again, this time expressing more thanks. She stepped back from him, making sure that she still had everything on her. She kept her eyes on him, trying to figure out why he would just be standing here. "Why you standing here? Nothing around here." It was really confusing. She understood if he was just around the districts, they were fun. But just standing out here with nothing to do? Didn't seem like fun, but she did enjoy the scenery.
Well it was certainly more interesting even if it had only been a few moments. This female was incredibly attractive and Qaletaqa had to do what he could to control the urge he felt towards her. One thing that he felt was strange was the fact she had the same tone of blue on her fur that he had just in what he saw as an outline to her black fur. It was something that he hadn't seen on any other beast other than himself until now. Her voice was one that he couldn't explain it was one that just reminded him of joy.
His urge towards her became much harder to control as she moved towards him and placed her hand on his chest. Her scent something that Qaletaqa couldn't help, but feel drawn towards. It was then that she spoke about how he had saved her from wolves. In truth Qaletaqa hadn't made the connection until after she spoke of the event. It had been so long ago and Qaletaqa had done his best back then to get away from her swiftly.
Then came the girl's question. She was curious as to why he was simply standing in the middle of this grass valley with nothing around him. Qaletaqa didn't really want to include others in his plan against Soul Society at least not yet. If he got others to join he put them all at risk and not just from the Shinigami, but from himself as well. He could see the joy on this females face and feel a hole in himself warm as if light had hit it for the first time in over a century.
Qaletaqa tried to speak to her yet only managed to make a few small noises followed by a bark then a low whine of failure at himself. Instead the incredibly tall beast put his left hand over hers which was still on his chest and felt how soft her fur was compared to his own then moved his right hand out across. It was meant as a sign that the grass lands were free and untamed that everything around them was nature and peace. Then his body tensed as he pointed to the white tower in the distance.

There is an in post dice roller. To avoid any claims of lack of integrity, I suggest you use it with the [ roll=d#] command, with the # representing the highest number of the die. (d6 rolls a standard die, etc.)

Zahra watched this man look at her and then make noises. It ended with a bark and whine. She looked at him strangely at that. Sadly, she didn't know what he meant. Since he obviously wasn't a jackal, she didn't really know what he meant, but she guessed that the whine was of sadness, probably because he couldn't really talk about it. It wasn't a big deal to her, she didn't really know much of this human language anyway.
He then put his left paw over hers. The warmth she felt from his hand was nice, and it showed on her face. She watched his other hand go over the grass. When he pointed towards the big white thing in the distance, he tensed up. Obviously, the white thing was bad. But, she had no idea what it was. It seemed that it was more calm here then in that place, but she knew nothing about it. She stepped away from him, continuing to chew her bark until she found a good piece of grass.
She spit the bark out and ripped off a piece of grass. She then started chewing on that a little bit. "Big white thing bad? I not know big white thing." She looked back towards it, wondering just what that thing was. But, the more she thought about it, the more it seemed he came here to be at peace, while there was too much stuff and got him on edge. This was definitely an interesting beast, to be sure. She'd never met one like it.
"So you here to get away?" She looked at him. This man was massive. She had to look up way farther than she did with anyone else. It was the weirdest thing for her, especially since things usually this much bigger than her would fight her over food or just try to get at her for dominance displays. It was intriguing that he didn't immediately attack her. She grabbed one of her throwing knives out of her strap and started to pick at her claws.
As the female stepped away from him Qaletaqa couldn't help, but feel the joy diminish just as the warmth from her touch had done. It was obvious by her facial expression that this female knew very little if anything at all about the Shinigami or Soul Society. All the more reason why Qaletaqa thought he should just leave now and spare her from whatever trouble he would bring her in the future. Yet for some reason he wasn't doing that it was like he couldn't leave her side.
As she spoke again and said that she didn't know about the white tower Qaletaqa thought about how he might be able to communicate with her. "P. . People in . . black . live . . there." After he spoke about the Shinigami hoping that this female would understand who he meant by the people in black he growled low in a threatening display to show her that he disliked them. His tail was wagging once again now and he moved it around to the female and brushed her cheek with the tip of his tail gently.
Moving his arms outwards to show off all of the wilderness and everything around the both of them Qaletaqa smiled revealing what might come off as a surprise to the female which just so happen to be his sharp teeth. "This . . Freedom." It was then that Qaletaqa pointed at the white tower again yet with more rage. "They take away freedom . . from US!" Qaletaqa was fighting against his own hatred towards the Shinigami in order to stay calm for this female. d10

Zahra watched this man as he tried to talk. When he mentioned people in black, she tried to think of what he was talking about. She thought about the district she frequented and did remember some people in black things walking around. It seemed that the people that live there don't really like them. She was fairly indifferent to them, since they never bothered her. But, she always kept her eyes out when they came around. From what she would hear, they only showed up in times of trouble.
He talked about freedom. Her ears perked up, tail twitched and she looked up at him. At that moment, she felt his tail wrap around her and the tip touched her cheek gently. She grabbed the end of it, wishing her tail was that long. But, it suited her just fine. She then started to play with the tail, poking it with her claw and batting the end back and forth. She was still listening and when he said taking away freedom, she got angry. She already saw he didn't like them, the teeth showing told her that much.
"They not bother me, but I like freedom. Freedom good. Not good is them taking freedom." She would think about this more when the people would actually bother her. Right now, she was just stating a fact. When she said the last part, she showed her teeth too, showing to him that she hated what he was talking about. She kept his tail in her grip, batting it around and keeping herself entertained. "You seem nice. What animal you?"
It was assuming and joyous to say the least watching the female play around with his tail. So free this one was and it seemed she hadn't been harmed by the Shinigami yet. Maybe he truly should just leave her alone and allow her to continue on the path that apparently wasn't doing her any bad. He knew that if he took her with him even though he would love to never be lonely again that he'd be placing her in more harm then she could possibly imagine.
It was then that the female asked him what animal he was and Qaletaqa's mind went blank. He was completely stunned just baffled. It hadn't even occurred to him in the entire time he had been alive during this second life what animal beast he was. Now it was like he just couldn't compare himself to any animal that he had found during his life as a human or here in the second life. Never before had he found one that looked anything like him and never one that was cursed in the same way as him.
"I not know what . . I am" Qaletaqa was puzzled by this realization and it showed easily on his face. Qaletaqa moved his arms close to the female and pulled her against himself feeling her warmth against him. He knew that eventually he would lose control and if nothing else when living a life that's cursed he wouldn't want to live with regret. His long tongue came from his lips and licked the forehead of the female. Her fur wasn't the best thing that he'd ever tasted obviously yet it wasn't as bad as the fur he often found in his mouth after he went blank.
In that next moment though Qaletaqa snapped his eyes revealing the feral nature being brought to the surface. In that moment Qaletaqa let out a massive roar that would match a full grown lion. His tail moved from behind the female as Qaletaqa's right arm swung forward to slash his claws across her torso. Qaletaqa wouldn't stop for he wasn't in control he was gone the curse had tken his mind and now he was going to kill the female.

Zahra was just playing with his tail and heard him say he didn't know what he was. She had at least stole a book that had pictures of animals and knew which one she was. She was trying to wrack her brain if she saw any animal that resembled him at all. While she was thinking about it, she felt his arms start to wrap around her. His tail helped him by gentling pushing her towards him. Once she got towards his chest, she felt such a great warmth coming from him, it was nice.
She nuzzled her snout in his fur, feeling its texture on her snout. It was then that she remembered. "You otter." When she looked up at him, he bent down and licked her forehead. Shock appeared all over her face. She didn't think he realized what he had just done. In her family, they cleaned each other to keep their scents on each other, so they knew they belonged in the same family. That they belonged to each other.
She looked up at him and was so surprised that someone actually did that for her. He was spreading his scent on her, marking her as his. She assumed she didn't know what he was doing and he was going to inform him of his mistake before she watched a change in his eyes. He roared pretty loudly, moving his arms. His tail left her and she watched as his right arm released from the hug and was starting to come at her to slash her across her torso.
"What wrong? You weird." She jumped back as he slashed at her. She threw the throwing knife that she had in her hand towards his torso, aiming for his left shoulder. She didn't want to hurt him as of right now. She was curious what had happened to him. She stayed on her toes, grabbing another throwing knife and diving down in the high grass. She was going to try to use the shadow the grass gave her for some cover. She crawled towards his leg and used her knife to slash at his right leg.
The reaction time of this female was incredible for her to be able to dodge such a close up swing from Qaletaqa. His mind tough was lost so he hadn't heard what she had said about his animal species or even about her asking what was wrong with him. All that the spirit was at this point was simply a savage beast. A beast that's only drive was animalist instinct. Sadly at this point that was dominance and hunger which would only drive him to kill the female that had already made a difference to his sanity.
As the female moved backwards and threw her knife Qaletaqa swung his left arm while moving forward. This resulted in the knife hitting the mark on his left shoulder yet not causing that much blood to spill from the wound. His swing was evaded like the first was the female rushed into the high grass. Qaletaqa was an animal and animals perused without thought. He was following her movements rushing right after her on all fours ready to pounce as soon as he saw her.
The steel of a blade though cut into the back of his right leg casing Qaletaqa in his madness to stop his charge and turn around roaring once again. Smelling the air around him the massive beast located the location of the female and lunged off the ground right towards where she would be hiding in the grass. If successful Qaletaqa would land on top of the female and attempt to bite her right shoulder.
Zahr watched him. He didn't respond, just kept the weird look in his eye. She knew that he would at least have tried to do something, grunting and whatnot. So, when he got this way, he wouldn't listen. It seemed to her that he followed the true animal instincts. She knew this was going to turn into an interesting fight, so she tried to clear her mind and would start to follow her instincts more. She opened her eyes then, watching what happened.
It seemed that her knife hit the mark she intended but he blew it off like it was nothing. It wasn't a good sign. It meant that when he was like this, he would just go after what was close by and it turned out to be her. The man became more interesting by the minute. It was also obvious that he couldn't be reasoned with, so she figured that it was a good time as any to try out her fighting skills. It would help her with her thieving after all.
He was scenting her, so he would be able to follow all of her movement. He was even able to track her in the high grass. This was going to be challenging. He was jumping right on top of her. Her own instincts were starting to kick in. She was NOT going to let this man be in the dominant position. She was able to use her speed to run away from him and avoid his attack. Then, when he landed, she ran back up close and jumped on his back. She used her claws to dig into his chest and tried to bite him on the neck.
The leap into the high grass right towards the female beast proved to be a failure as the female managed to evade his leap. A good portion of the grass was now pushed down beneath his body and he was constantly sniffing the air for the female's scent. However, Qaletaqa hadn't had enough time to actually locate her before he could feel her claws on his back. As the sharp tools of a beast penetrated into the flash of his back Qaletaqa let out a nerve shattering roar that was an louder then the previous two.
The roar lasted a few seconds and by that time the teeth of this female had already been engraved into his neck. Instead of roaring in rage this time though Qaletaqa's tail moved from the ground up to his back and wrapped around the throat of the female. It tightened as much as was possible for the beast and as it did Qaletaqa began to twirl around while pulling at the throat of the female in order to get her off his back. If successful the female would find herself pulling from his back and then thrown a foot or two away by his tail.
It would be then that the feral change of his eyes was gone and the consciousness of the beast actually returned. Qaletaqa would stand up like he had been prior to losing his control and look around until he would see the female. I would be obvious to see what had happened yet surprising that the female wasn't dead and didn't seem to suffer any sever injuries. Qaletaqa felt like just running again in order to prevent himself from losing control again.
It was then that he would feel the slight pain on his body and realize that she had been able to at least wound him. Looking over his shoulder to see the shallow knife wound and feel the other various wounds on his back and neck. Unlike almost any other creature be it beast or not Qaletaqa wasn't enraged to find himself hurt yet pleased. "Perhaps she strong enough to stay." Qaletaqa would look to the female while making sure to not move for at any moment he could lose control again. "Me sorry I true monster." Qaletaqa spoke and if the female actually listened it would be easy to hear the sorrow that weighted down his words.
