"Hueco Mundo isn't as interesting as the Human World..." Gen spoke. That was the conclusion the Arrancar had come to after wandering the vast desert world. Gen wandered alot of the time and just observed everything around him. That was just what he did. Now and then he would leave randomly without telling anyone and just go out into the world to observe. This had been one of his observation missions, though instead of go to the World of the Living, he decided to stay in Hueco Mundo and observe his home. After wandering for what seemed like hours, he decided that Miss Asuka was right. His whole point in even deciding to stay in Hueco Mundo on his observing mission this time was to see what mysteries this vast desert had to offer that no one yet knew about. Miss Asuka was right though, and he should have listened to her words of advice for him. "Miss Asuka was right...Hueco Mundo has nothing new and interesting to offer." he finally concluded.
So with his observations done, Gen decided to head back. He dusted off his pants leg as he walked forward, having been kneeling in the white sand to get a better view. He had thought that maybe all of the sand was hiding the interesting stuff and had tried to dig, but that failed. He wiped his sleeves vigourously while he was walking back. He didn't want Miss Asuka to see that he had dirtied the suit she had him wore almost as a uniform. She might be upset with him for getting it all ruined. When finally he had inspected it and found no more traces of sand upon it, he continued on his journey back. Little did he know his day of observation would become more interesting than he thought it would be.

Andrea had nothing on his mind, yet another boring day in Las Noches. The invasion of the Soul Society was coming and Andrea wanted nothing more then his chance to bring down the Shinigami. However, he had to wait. Until Sonken gave the order each Arrancar stood at the ready. When he was allowed, Andrea was going to attack the heart of the Soul Society. For now, however, he had nothing to do. Relax and enjoy the lame desert that was Las Noches. As far as anyone could see the area was empty, as if no life had ever existed in it. Sand and sky.
Andrea wasted the time before the attack but sitting outside observing other Arrancar and Hollow, they all seemed to be gearing up for the attack, except Andrea. He had done nothing to prepare. Hell all the Espada were busy with each other and most Fraccion were too weak to hold their own anyway. But one caught Andrea's eye each time he saw him. Gen. Miho was another, but she was preoccupied as well. Gen was the only one who wasn't training, fighting, or practicing. Instead Andrea watched as today he scouted the desert. It was empty, try as he might, Las Noches was a wasteland and that's all it would ever be.
Andrea admired the Fraccion and decided finally that he needed to Train if he was really to compete with the Shinigami. Vice Captains and lower were nothing. But as an Espada it would be his job to face Captain level Shinigami, even if they were weak, they were still some of THE BEST Shinigami alive... so to speak. Andrea needed to be one their level, if not higher, to face them. And engaging Gen in training was the best option for now. Andrea was waiting for Gen to return. He was hungry for blood, but killing a Fraccion was not something he was about to do.

"What happened to Hueco Mundo? Where did all of the interesting things go?" Gen asked himself as he made his way towards Las Noches. He had made sure to check once more before coming any closer to the white castle to make sure that there was absolutley no white sand on his pinstriped suit jacket and black pants. Miss Asuka being upset with him was something he couldn't afford. She had saved him from regressing into a mindless Gillian again and losing himself to all of the other Hollows that he had absorbed over the years. That was why he repaid her by serving as her Fraccion and doing anything he could to be nice. Plus, Gen believed that Miss Asuka could extend his life. Whatever was out there that was coming to take his powers from him, he was sure Miss Asuka would protect him from.
So, Gen continued walking and finally, he grew closer and closer to the white castle in all its glory. It was the only thing interesting in this vast desert by far. Even Gen could see that, but still...he needed more interesting things to observe. He wanted to know about the world and have all of his many questions answered. At the moment, Gen noticed that there weren't many Arrancars around. Even when he was walking out to search the vast desert. He saw no signs of Kin or Li Mei or even Miss Asuka. When he had inquired as to where most of them had gone, the answer he received was shocking news to him. He was told that Sonken Kouhai was planning to invade the Soul Society and that most of the Arrancar were preparing.
Oh my. Gen didn't know what to do when he had heard this. Despite knowing that he had to prepare himself, he decided to go and observe the desert anyway. Now as he was coming back, he remembered it and wondered why it was now that Sonken Kouhai was making his move. Gen saw the man standing before the doors to the castle and he wondered who he was. He didn't know much about the new Espada. He was out much too frequently to keep up with much going on within Las Noches, and he hadn't had time to ask Miss Asuka about it yet. So, Gen decided that he would approach this man and maybe find out who he was and also why it was now that Sonken Kouhai was making his move.
So, Gen moved closer to the man known as Andrea and came to a full stop, simply staring at him through that fishbowl like mask fragment covering his head. All that could be seen within it was the red eyes. His hands were in his pockets and the four ends of the two scarves wrapped around his neck stuck out sharply as if glued in that position. "Excuse me....may I ask you a few questions?" Gen asked the man. Then, without waiting for a response, he flew into his tirade of questions for Andrea. "I don't mean to be rude, but are you one of those new Espada that I have heard so much about? Why is it now that Mr. Sonken Kouhai has planned to attack Soul Society? Did he give any specific reasons? Curious is all I am...I mean no harm by my questions..." Gen spoke. His eyes stared at the man calmly, awaiting a response.

Andrea watched, worried, and waited. Andrea knew a little about each Captain, more-so from what others said or what had been recorded about each. Andrea was arrogant but he was also cautious. Running into a fight blindly is never a good idea, even against Fraccion. Gen was an odd Arrancar, the distinctive mask that he wore was curious. Why? It was just strange really. Then again, how was he one to speak? Andrea wore the uniform of an average Shinigami, beside a few accessories.
Gen always seemed to be more the observant type instead of rushing into anything. That was something to be admired among Arrancar, most were hot headed and would get themselves killed before giving up any measure of pride. Even Andrea wouldn't back down from a challenge, but Gen was smarter then that. Even now he was curious about several things. "Excuse me....may I ask you a few questions? I don't mean to be rude, but are you one of those new Espada that I have heard so much about? Why is it now that Mr. Sonken Kouhai has planned to attack Soul Society? Did he give any specific reasons? Curious is all I am...I mean no harm by my questions..."
So many questions... "Yare yare, Dante Follia, Sexta Espada. As far as the attack goes, I know little more then you." Andrea was satisfied with the answer actually. His name was Andrea, but he was often called Dante as well. In all honesty he like Dante more, but Andrea was the name given to him at birth and so it was what most called him. Andrea twisted his head slightly and laughed at the Fraccion.."What is with that odd head of yours boy?"
Post by Gen Shizuo on Jun 21, 2011 21:29:12 GMT -5
So, his name was Dante Follia and he was the Sexta Espada. Oh, this was interesting. Gen has come across quite a powerful Espada. Sexta was one of the low-tier Espada numbers, but still, to Gen it was a rank of someone years in power compared to his own. Even if it was just the Sexta, Gen still knew the man before him was quite powerful. if he wasn't he wouldn't have even been able to make it into the ranks of the Espada. Gen needed to be more careful around this one or else he could lose his life and that was something Gen feared more than anything. Gen quickly bowed before the man to address his higher ranking position over Gen's own. Then, when he stood, he introduced himself as well as he answered the man's question about the mask fragment on his head.
Gen lifted a hand from his pocket and pointed to the mask fragment on his head as he spoke in that soft, echoing monotone voice. "This is the fragment of my mask that I was left with after I was saved..." Gen spoke as his hand once more retreated into his pocket. "I apologize for not introducing myself earlier Sexta. I am Gen Shizuo...Fraccion to Miss Asuka." he added. Then, silence returned as he once more stared at the Sexta, taking in his interesting appearance. Most said that Gen's appearance was most interesting, but he had an equal in interesting appearances standing before him.
"If I may ask Sexta, why are you not out training like your fellow Espada? Even Miss Asuka has disappeared. I lost track of her and the rest of my Fraccion members. Do you have an idea where they may have gone?" Gen asked in that echoing monotone of his. The echo was a result of the fishbowl like oddity sitting over his head. With his soft, monotone voice echoing like that, it sounded pretty ominous and scary. Well maybe someone of Andrea's rank wouldn't be intimidated, but if the two were to switch positions at this very moment, it probably would be. Nonetheless, Gen continued eyeing Andrea in an attempt to observe him. What did the Sexta find interesting about a Fraccion like him? If anything, if Andrea wanted to train with Gen today, he would probably have to initiate it since Gen was more the type to observe. He never attacked unless it was in a counterattack to save his own life.

Andrea admired the Fraccion and listened as he spoke. "This is the fragment of my mask that I was left with after I was saved..." Saved... from what? Well, it didn't actually matter, Andrea didn't care enough to ask further. "I apologize for not introducing myself earlier Sexta. I am Gen Shizuo...Fraccion to Miss Asuka." Of course Andrea knew this but he played along anyway, "Really? The Espada that's with the Shinigami... lucky him." Andrea liked Asuka but he wasn't about to say anything about it to her Fraccion. "If I may ask Sexta, why are you not out training like your fellow Espada? Even Miss Asuka has disappeared. I lost track of her and the rest of my Fraccion members. Do you have an idea where they may have gone?"
"Oh, I am training, and so are you..." Andrea ignored the rest of the question to begin the fight. As the last word left his mouth he made his move. He ran at Gen with his arm extended towards the large mask left on Gen's head. He wasn't moving at full speed since he didn't actually want to hurt the Arrancar, too much. The first attack was simply to encourage Gen to fight. Of course, if that didn't work he could always move up to the next option.
Post by Gen Shizuo on Jun 22, 2011 16:20:49 GMT -5
The answer to Gen's questions was answered by Andrea suddenly moving forward with incredible speed. Andrea said something about training and Gen would be doing the same. Gen figured that Andrea wanted to train by fighting against him or something, but what progress would he make fighting against a Fraccion? Gen thought it would probably have been better if he had fought against an Espada. By doing that, he would be fighting against someone of near equal strength and could improve faster by doing so. By fighting Gen, he wouldn't improve as fast. Well, this was all what Gen was thinking. He didn't see the reasoining behind it, but if the Sexta wanted to train with him, why waste the opportunity? He was training with an Espada!
Gen watched as Andrea came at him. He had his arm extended. What if he hit Gen with a cero at point blank or something. It was training, but Arrancar weren't exactly a kind race of people. There were some, but Arrancar were evolved hollow. There would still be that savageness deep within them. Then again, Andrea could also be testing Gen. So, Gen was going to be cautious as he made his next move. He moved his head to his right, that being all he could do with the difference in speed. Then, as the outstretched hand was flying past the side of his head, Gen stepped forward with his right leg and spun to his left. This was his attack. Coming out of that spin, he had his left hand in a fist and was moving to slam the back of his balled fist into the face of the Sexta. A back handed slap used by pimps to put their whores in check. That was what Gen was using now, though he didn't actually even know that it had this name.
While that slap was moving in, Gen's right hand was already on the hilt of one of his blades on his back. It had moved there during his spin. He had a feeling that slap might not work against the Sexta. He might even hurt his own hand against the Sexta's hierro. That was why he balled it into a fist. So that the damage from hitting the Sexta's hierro wouldn't be as much. If that slap didn't do much damage, Gen's next movement was to draw his blade and leap back to gain some distance. From there, he was going to watch for the Sexta's next move. Against someone of power much greater than his own, it was better not to rush in and attack blindly. He felt he should wait and counter like he had before rather than rush in and be countered.

Andrea expected as much. Gen could take advantage such situations, that was how he fought, counter attacks. Of course, against some one like Andrea that was wise. But Andrea was doing this merely for fun, he would obviously get less out of such a match up then Gen. While Andrea passed Gen, he too turned himself in order to face the Fraccion. He stopped, twisted his body around, and brought his hand up in one motion. His arm stopped next to his face, ready to block Gen's hand.
When their arms met it did little more then propel Andrea back several feet. In all honesty, Andrea could have easily fought with his hands alone against Gen's blade, considering the difference in their Reiatsu Strength, but since becoming an Espada Andrea has yet to draw his blade at all. Gen would be the first combatant that would witness it at all. Even the Septima, Magnus, was not worthy of such. But Andrea had become bored with quick fights. So when he finally stopped and watched Gen draw his blade, Andrea did the same. He had no sheath, instead he placed his hand out limply before him. A black ring on his finger began to release condensed Reiatsu until it finally formed a solid Katana. "Ready?"
Post by Gen Shizuo on Jun 22, 2011 18:36:59 GMT -5
Andrea had caught Gen's back-handed slap and had used the strength behind it to push himself away. A move befitting an Espada. Gen was able to get himself some space as well, though he just stood there waiting for Andrea's move. He saw Andrew form his blade from a ring that was on his finger. "An interesting way to store one's blade...I have never seen that before." Gen commented as he stood there, his eyes roaming over Andrea. He took in every detail about him. Gen's left hand then lifted and he drew his second blade.
With both blades drawn, Gen was ready. Though, Andrea still had yet to move. Maybe Gen would do better by attacking this time rather than sitting and watching. If he attacked, he would learn about his opponent faster and he would also gain experience faster. Plus, by attacking, he might throw off any ideas his opponent had already created about the type of style Gen fought with. Gen was an observer, but he didn't have to only observe through making counters. He could observe by also making attacks himself and learn how his opponent countered.
Gen's observation now told him that Andrea may have noticed Gen's observing personality and decided to instead let Gen attack rather than risk a counterattack from Gen again. Though, it was weird since Gen knew that the Sexta's hierro could deflect Gen's blows. He had felt it in that last attack. The Sexta's hierro was strong, but, that didn't mean Gen couldn't still try and attack him. "I'm ready." was Gen's response to Andrea's question, but instead of allow Andrea to launch his own attack, Gen decided to move first.
He launched forward, his blades held near his waist as he ran forward. He didn't want to give away which blade he was going to strike with before he even reached the Espada. Finally, when he was within feet of Andrea, he slashed upwards with the right blade in a powerful strike that moved from Andrea's right hip to his left shoulder. He was stepping down with his right leg in the same moment to increase the power of the slice. Gen wasn't through there though. He was expecting a counter, and a counter from the Sexta would be one that he might not be able to defend. That was why he also stabbed forward with an upwards stab towards Andrea's jugular with his left blade. Andrea would block the first slash easily, but he wouldn't be able to launch a counterattack unless he wanted to be stabbed in the jugular. Then again, Gen's blade wouldn't pierce him, but he knew instinct would tell Andrea to move away. That would stop him from being able to counter and he would have to move back. When he did that, Gen would go after him.

Ah, finally. Gen was taking the offensive, his ability to judge the situation was decent. Andrea was waiting for this, he wanted to see the Fraccion's abilities with a blade since unlike most Arrancar, this one had multiple blades. This should obviously point out his skill in dealing with a sword. Gen was smart, the way he handled both blades obviously threw Andrea off on which was going to come first, however, rather then guess he waited. His opponent was slower and therefore easier to read, Andrea could sense the moment the first blade began to move, instantly he pulled his hand and katana down to his side. The blade collided with Gen's and pushed it behind Andrea.
The second blade was more annoying, it obviously wouldn't break through Andrea's Hierro but it was still a good idea to evade anyway. The entire movement was instant, no though, nothing, the moment the second blade reached Andrea, he was gone. As a master of Sonido he had no need to prepare himself like other Arrancar. When he stopped it was two feet behind Gen, with the blade drawn before him. He waited a moment for Gen to take in the movement before Andrea made his strike. He didn't intend to injure the Arrancar, since he would obviously be of use in the attack on Soul Society. The slash was simple, from the shoulder across the body, ending near the torso.
Post by Gen Shizuo on Jun 22, 2011 19:53:55 GMT -5
Gen's first strike had been blocked. Just as he predicted. The slash was pushed down, and it offbalanced Gen a little. Then his second stab was moving upwards. Gen had been putting alot of force into that one so that if Andrea hadn't moved, he would have met a great deal of blunt force slamming into his jugular. Hierro didn't protect from blunt force and that would have hurt on the inside. But, Andrea was gone as that stab was moving in. Gen's eyes widened and he had no way of stopping his uppercutting stab. He was also offbalanced as well, and with his opponent no longer standing there, he stumbled forward. Andrea no longer holding his blade down also offbalanced him even more, causing him to fall forward.
Of course, Gen was in midslice when Andrea appeared behind him, but Andrea had waited a few seconds for Gen to register his disappearance. That had been enough for Gen to use his offbalance to fall forward. The slash would miss him by inches and he would hit the sand on his face. He didn't know anything about the slash though. However, instinct told him something was coming. Now on the ground, Gen was in trouble. That was why he lifted himself as if to do a push up and was then gone, disappearing using sonido.
However, instead of move behind Andrea as Andrea had done Gen, Gen reappeared in front of him. Unexpected since most moved behind or to the sides after coming out of sonido. Gen had used it to get up faster as well as launch an attack. When he was coming out of his sonido, he was in the middle of a roundhouse kick with his right leg towards Andrea's face. Of course, he knew that this would hurt his own foot due to the hierro, but his move before helped in what he would do now. Andrea had moved to dodge his stab. He had been expecting that. He knew that instinct would not allow Andrea to remain there as the attack moved to such a precious body part. He was banking on Andrea moving to dodge his kick this time.
While that kick was moving forward, Gen's right blade was being thrown in between Andrea's leg. His attention would be on the kick, so he wouldn't see Gen throwing the blade. Plus, Gen's foot would be blocking off most of Andrea's view of the ground anyway. Gen then flicked the chain that was attached to the end of his blade's hilt. This flick would cause the blade to move towards his left leg so that the chain could wrap around that leg. If it did safely wrap around it, Gen would then pull it harder, offbalancing Andrea and probably causing him to fall if he hadn't already fallen from moving back to dodge the kick thrown at his face and tripping over the blade wrapping his leg. That meant he had two things to worry about. The trip before or the trip after if he succesfully dodged the first trip.
Gen's Remaining Reiatsu: 1900 (-100 for Sonido)

Andrea was amused. If nothing else, he was getting pleasure out of admiring the Fraccion's movements. Unlike the Espada he faced there was no chance that this fight meant anything and so he could take it easy, learning himself. The same went for the Shinigami he faced, they were all useless and Andrea wanted nothing more then to devour them the moment he was set upon one. Andrea could use this type of battle for a different training, instead of showing off, he could further his own counterattacks and even offensive attacks. It also helped that the Arrancar he was facing was pretty skilled with such things, no matter the rank.
Andrea stopped his Zanpakuto in mid-slash and waited for Gen to pick himself up. He watched until his opponent used Sonido. He wasn't terribly fast but it was fast enough to outdo Andrea's senses. He had to rely on instinct, which told him to be prepared on all sides. The back was an obvious target, someone in Gen's situation would have been a fool to attack it. Andrea drew his blade across his own body and awaited Gen. It was only a moment before he appeared, a roundhouse kick aimed for Andrea's head. Initially Andrea was going to cut at it with his blade, but that would have taken the leg completely off. Instead he used his left palm to catch the leg. At the same time purple Reiatsu burned through his hand, a bala had connected with the Fraccion's leg along with the hand.
The bala was weak though, Andrea reserved nearly half the strength that he could have placed into the bala. Basically it was enough to burn through Gen's pants and burn his leg slightly. Gen's blade however was still an issue. Andrea noticed it, but there was little he could do. His Hierro would deflect the blade no matter what but it still threw Andrea for a curve. He pushed the Arrancar away and himself back, it would still throw him off balance, but Andrea had a knack for recovering from things like this. He slid back but threw his weight forward. His right hand was off to the side, the katana in it's grasp while he used the left to catch himself from falling forward.

Oh...this one was really good. Just as Gen had expected. It didn't seem like his simple tactics would get past this guy. But then again, it was a little hard to cut him and trying to make plans to wound a guy with higher reiastu strength than you was kind of hard. Even hitting him with a cero or Bala wouldn't work. The only thing Gen could do was attack parts not covered by Hierro, but that would mean that he would then be fighting to kill. Attacks somewhere like the eyes wouldn't be too nice. The Sexta might get upset and retaliate with someone nasty. Gen didn't want that, so he was going to try to just cause as much blunt damage as he could.
Now, back to the fight. Gen was kicking, but then he had his kick stopped. He also felt pain in the leg he had kicked with. The Sexta had hit him with a Bala when he had caught the leg. It would be harder to maneuver now. But, Gen was able to trip the Espada like he had planned. This training really was paying off. Even if he hadn't been able to wound the Espada, he had still been able to trip him. Had he not been burned, he could have capitalized on the Espada's fall. However, with the Espada releasing his grip, Gen's only thought was to get away for now.
He leaped backwards on his good left leg, pulling his right hand back as he did so. That pulled the blade towards him. The chain attached to the ends of his blades' hilts was extremely long, and so that was why he tied some of it around his arms. He would be able to easily recover his blades if both of them fell from his grasps. Most people didn't even realize he had chains wrapped around his arms because the many clothes he wore underneath that suit covered up the bulge around his arms. Gen lifted his right hand and caught the blade, wincing as he did so. He looked down at his right leg to see that the pants leg and even the leggings he wore underneath that were burned through. If he hadn't been wearing all of those clothes, the burns would have been stronger.
So now, Gen had to figure out another plan of attack. Should he even try and attack again after being countered like that? If he did attack again, it would be better to do so from long range. Now, Andrea would see just why those chains were attached to the end of Gen's blades. He swung the right blade in front of him, building up the speed, and then he threw it forward. It went flying towards Andrea, moving to slice into him on his left side. It came in pretty fast due to the strength Gen had thrown it, added with the speed it had built up while he was twirling it. (After he got up from the fall of course) Gen wasn't done there yet though. He also quickly twirled the left one for half a second and quickly threw that. That came at Andrea from his right side. But, that still wasn't Gen's plan of attack. Both of those attacks could be dodged easily.
Gen used a sonido to move himself into the air where he was seen reappearing out of a somersault. He angled his body and made it straight and stiff as he dropped down towards Andrea in an attempt to plant a double kick into his face. The blades were still on their way even as Gen came down with that double kick. Andrea would get a face full of Gen's feet after he dodged those blades. Even if they wouldn't cut him, the strength and speed with which they came made it so that they would cause blunt force damage upon hitting him in a sandwhich like that.
Gen's Remaining Reiatsu: 1800 (-100 for Sonido)

Again Andrea admired the Fraccion. He always seemed to have another trick up his sleeve, no matter the situation. The chains were unexpected, Gen didn't seem like the type to be so battle ready. Honestly, at first glance he appeared almost harmless. But with the two blades, the chains, and his overall skill Gen shouldn't be taken lightly by anyone with a rank near his. Sadly though, Andrea was Espada, Sexta none-the-less. His life was to kill. To hunt, to fight, to survive.
Andrea watched as Gen began his next attack. Chains huh? Andrea's obvious instinct was to dodge them. But there was something more, his energy sensory wasn't amazing by any means, but his senses were above average. He watched as the second chain was launched even. The were both fast, but Andrea was faster. With a Sonido only an instant before the chains met Andrea was gone. He had jumped up, above the chains, and above Gen. Andrea noticed Gen's movement only a moment before his Sonido, being unsure made Andrea wary and therefore his reaction was jump. Avoiding the chains and any danger that would meet him ground level after.
The only issue was that his opponent was also up. But now, below Andrea. Andrea aimed his left palm down at the Arrancar as he flipped and fired off 2 bala. Both were using Andrea's full Reiatsu Strength, these needed to be evaded. If they hit it would be devastating. Though they should be easy enough to dodge since one was right behind the other, their area of impact would be decently small, but the damage itself would be amplified. Reiatsu: 3250
