Magic Man Taien (Academy Thread) [R, NDE]

Dong...Dong...Dong... The roaring sound of the academy's massive bells echoed through the mind of Taien as he would march up the steps to his future. Here he was, in the academy at last and on his path to becoming a full fledge shinigami! Of course, he had been accepted in for his abnormal reiatsu increase that he had obtained and of course this labeled him worthy of entering the academy. Now, it was its job to open the gate to Taien's future but it was his job in the head to make the choice to walk or run. Now, his spiritual life was going to start a whole new experience for him, filled with love, tears, joy, sadness, anger and exciting! Yay. He would make both enemies and allies in the academy no doubt, and it will make him or break him. Well it was now or never. As Taien entered the halls of the academy, he would see there were many shinigami dressed similar the way he was, almost all sporting the same uniform he was currently wearing. This of course marked them as students of the academy as he was, but perhaps he should take note of those who weren't wearing uniforms. He would be able to briefly catch a glance of a few figures, though they were just entering a few of the rooms that no doubt had classes in them.

One figure was his height and appeared to be male, while long snow white bangs though the rest of his hair was short. He was wearing a dark red kimono and at his side was a sheathed zanpakuto that looked awfully large for a normal one. The male briefly glanced at Taien, his pitch black eyes locking with his briefly then he entered the classroom. The other two figures appeared to be female and taller then Taien by a couple of inches but he wouldn't be able to get a good sight of them. Why? Because a flood of students then passed his few. Great, it was like high school all over again! Anyway, Taien's first class would be kendo practice, it was still required even though he would never obtain a zanpakuto. He still needed to know how to use a bladed weapon and just because he didn't have a zanpakuto does not mean he won't use a blade in the future. Now, time to head off to class, to the room in which the white haired shinigami had entered!

1º (All Week)Kendo 1-2 SP ~ This is a basic Kendo class, which begins by teaching the basics of all of Kendo. All shinigami must know how to use the blade. This can be replaced by Kendo SPR if you excel beyond all expectations during the first two seasons.

2º (Twice Per Week)Kido 1-2 SP ~ This is a basic Kido class, which begins by teaching the basics of mastering reiatsu, and firing Kido. Kido are of course, a required skill for dispatching hollows as Shinigami. Can be replaced by Kido SPR if you excel beyond all expectations during the first two seasons.

3º(All Week)Travel Class 1-2 SP ~ Trust me. While this may seem like a pointless class, this is the way you learn to communicate with Hell Butterflies, and travel in Senkai Gates. If you can't get from world to world, you're useless. There's no advanced placement for this class.

4º(Tu,Th,Su)Kick Boxing ~ This class teaches you how to Kick Box. Squads 7, 10, and 11 all require it. This can be taken all 5 years.

5º(M,W,F)Speed ~ This class helps you practice with speed movement, distance, etc. It also helps with Shunpo and other stepping abilities. Squads 2 and 7 require this class. This can be taken all 5 years.

6º(Th,Sa,Su)Reiatsu Focus ~ This class teaches you how to better focus your reiatsu. Squads 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 12, and 13 all require this class. This can be taken all 5 years.

6º(M,W,F)Technology/Science Class ~ A special class that teaches about the various technologies and sciences of Soul Society. Squads 12 and 13 require this class. This can be taken all 5 years.

7º(M,W,F)History 1-2 ~ This is a course that can be taken for multiple years at higher and higher levels. Squads 1, 4, 6, 8, 9, 12, and 13 all require this class

7º(Tu,Sa,Su)Boxing ~ This class teaches you how to box. Squads 1, 7, 10, and 11 require it. This can be taken all 5 years.

[Taien Hadohou]

"Oya oya!! The Shino Acadamy! Its bigger than I expected it to be!!"

Taien said out loud in an extremely happy voice. He was wearing his normal Shino Acadamy outfit today, and was taking in the vastness of the school. Well, he took it in for now, obviously this was a small part of the schoolfor now. He noticed the white haired guy and his large Zanpakuto. He locked eyes with the white haired guy and flashed a smile. He thought he saw some girls, but then he was swarmed by a flood of academy students. All right! Time for the first class!

Taien hurried over to the room the white haired Shinigami went in and looked around.

Immediately, Taien was created by a marvelous sight. The classroom in which he had entered was ginormous, it basically resembled a massive dojo. The floors were completely made out of smoothed wood, large circularly ring-like designs scattered eventually all over. These most likely indicated practice areas for the students when they spared. The walls were lined with mirrors, reflecting the image of everything in the rooms. The ceiling to was made out of wood, with several, square shaped spaces with class filling them, making them to be make shift windows. Rays of light shined down into the dojo, lightning it complete. There were no desks, but there was one area that all of the students were gathering: directly infront of the white haired shinigami that Taien had seen. So he was the teacher afterall. Now with a clear view of the teacher, he would be able to see that he appeared to be in his 50's, though his hair did appear to be naturally white. He appeared to be muscular, not outrageously, but enough that showed he was well in shape for a man who appeared to be 54. His had tanned skin, giving him the appearance and placing him in the race of a Native American. The sight that no doubt would catch everyones attention would be his zanpakuto, in which he currently had unsheathed and the tip of it was pressed against the dojo's floor as he hand both hands on it, like one would do to a cane.

The zanpakuto was larger then a nodachi, making it a little over six feet long and about four feet wide. The hilt of the blade was also a foot long, so it was meant as a two handed weapon in combat. The blade itself was colored a shining emerald color, rather unique among the normal zanpakutos. Could this mean that the shinigami was so powerful that his shikai's characteristics showed through? This had to be so, for Taien and no doubt everyone else, could feel the male's tremendous power radiate off of him. Could this be an ever famed Kenpachi? Taien was soon to find out because the bell tolled, signaling the class to begin. "Good evening class, you may address me as Sensei Noriku, or Sensei for short." He addressed the class with a white, toothy grin. He lifted his blade up suddenly with one hand and placed it casually up against his shoulder, displaying his immense strength. "Now, you are here in my class to experience the wonderful practice of Kendo. You will, in one point of your shinigami life time, be forced to use a blade and fight an opponent to proves to be a danger with you. I am here, so in which when you do face this opponent, you will know how to butcher him!" He exclaimed with a throaty laugh. All the students glanced at eachother nervously, as if wondering if it was the right idea to take this class. "Now, each of you grab a kendo stick off of the rack," Noriku ordered, motioning towards a giant rack filled with wooden kendo sticks to the far left, "And then enter one of the rings on the floor, then await a challenger."

"Oya oyaaaaaaa! This place is massive! The sheer height of this building alone is twice the size of normal school buildings!!!"

Taien cried out in happiness. Taien was almost to busy looking at stuff before he realized he should be over with the other students. He quickly walked over to where they were gathering and was greeted with a site of his white haired friend. Apperently that man was the teacher of the Kendo Class. Cool! Anyways, he listened to his speech, watched him heft his sword, and then looked over at the kendo sticks. They were pretty well used, but kept in good condition. Taien walked over and picked a sword up, testing its weight a little bit before putting it back and picking up a more balanced sword.

"Oya oya!! Who wants to go a round with me!!"

Taien said happily, jumping up and down on the ring he had entered. Disregarding his silly apperance, Taien also gave off a huge amount of power, just like the teacher, but not to the same degree. Who would fight Taien?

"Ill take you on." A feminine voice confronted him, the figure stepping into the ring on the opposite side of Taien. A female, having a distinct, attractive and athletic body that would catch the eye of any real man. She had bronze-tanned skin, possibly some kind of foreigner if a normal person looked at her. She had black, shoulder length hair, several bangs parted and curved in crescent shapes on the sides of her forehead. On either ear, she wore what seemed to be a golden medallion with several birthstones embedded into it, giving her more of a tribal look. She was fairly attractive though, especially with the earrings she was currently wearing. She too was wearing a academy student uniform, so this put her on a similar level to Taien. She swung the kendo stick around with one hand, then held it infront of her with a two handed grip. "Isabella Kane, pleased to be your opponent." She grinned at him, ready to combat the male. Oh boy, his first opponent and it was basically a hot girl.

[Taien Hadohou]

"Oya oya!! Taien Hadohou is pleased to make your acquaintance Isabella-San!!"

Taien exclaimed happily. As his opponent took her stance up, Taien decided to go with a fencer-like stance, sword extended in front of him, arm behind his back, and body directly behind the blade. It was a stance that made it harder for the opponent to hit him, which was good seeing as she was pretty strong already.

"Ladies first, Isabella-San!"

Taien said happily, indicating that she should take the first strike.

"Gladly." She replied, suddenly sweeping her blade out to the right side, holding it only with her right hand. She seemed rather challenging as a female, and was sticking with her kendo rather then take an odd stance like Taien was. Suddenly, Isabella kicked off from where she was into a sprint right towards the male shinigami. It would seem to him that she was going for more of a direct attack. However, this would not be the case, as when she became closer to the extended blade of Taien, she swiftly side stepped from the side. She seemed highly capable of moving, and displayed speed much faster then the male shinigami, possibly due to her feminine figure. Afterside stepping, she performed a dashing leap forward, swinging her blade down forward while returning her left hand to the grip, resuming a double handed kendo guard with the blade. Having bypassed the guard of Taien using her superior speed, he would have to reposition either the kendo stick or himself, though avoiding the attack would be highly difficult since she was already close to him. Defending it had more of a possibility, but it would have to be swift and it was going to be close. If the attack hit, he would be struck on the shoulder blade with the kendo stick.

As Isabella charged at him, Taien did the obvious thing and thrusted forwards as she approched. Since she was charging at him, and close to the blade, the thrust would probably hit her. Of course, then she side stepped, which would result in the tip of the Shinai probably just poking her a little bit. Before she leaped to slash at him, Taien quickly swung his torso around, so that the Shinai would slam into her side just as she was hitting his shoulder. Being as strong as she was, and because he didn't even try to defend, it hurt.

"Ugh! Oya oya, that was a strong swing Isabella-San, if that was a real blade, my arm would have been lobbed off!"

Taien exclaimed. If this was a real match, Isabella would also have a large gash in her side as well.

Taien was correct on one thing, his blade did hit in the side as she nailed him with a strike to the shoulder. However, he had not taken into account what an actual katana blade was like. The way that he had attacked, if it was an actual katana, the blade would have very little width to it, though since a kendo blade was circularly and did have width to it, it lightly brushed against her side when she had side stepped the blade. Also, Taien would of have to turn the blade for it to cut into her, but he hadn't, so in reality if it was a real blade, he would basically have just smacked her side with the blade, and it would also not have much power behind it due to his still extended arm. She, however, didn't seem to think of this fact but grinned, knowing that she had come up on the better with that exchange. "Thank you, Taien-kun, and you would have left my side fairly injured as well." She replied, suddenly dashing back to back off from the shingami and rescued her double handed kendo guard directly infront of her. She now awaited for him to attack first.

Of course if this was a real duel, things would have been different. But it wasn't. Moving on then! Taien moved his shoulder in a circular motion to shrug off the pain. Then he got into a different stance, blade held loosely in the right hand, slouched over a bit forwards. It was odd to say the least. Then he charged at her, slashing upwards with his blade. However he did one more thing, he kicked the back of the blade, gripping the blade more on impact, which increased its power and speed as it flew at Isabella. Despite the strength difference, the speed and momentum of the blade hitting something wouldn't be pleasant. After he did that, he put two fingers in front of the blade tip and slashed, pushing the blade against his fingers and then releasing, also increasing its power and speed. The principle was the same with flicking a finger, hitting someone with your finger regularly wont do much, but putting the thumb in front of the finger increases its striking power.

Isabella awaited her opponent to come at her, lightly bouncing up and down on the balls of her feet eagerly. A female shinigami in which loved to fight, a person like this was destined to join a certain squad to enjoyed combat to the fullest. Isabella, seeing her opponent charge and position his blade for an upward slash, this had left him wide open. When he came into melee range of the female and began his slashing motion, she instantly dashed forward past him, turning her kendo stick leftward so it was horizontal as she moved, positioning it square in his face and causing it to collide with it. She had seemingly been ready to move, and was naturally lighter then the male, so even with the kick to the blade, she was able to narrowly avoid that attack. In fact, the timing would be so as that right when he kicked the blade, she was mid-way through dashing, so he couldn't dodge an attack like this, though if he was smart he could find a way to block the attack at least. After performing the dash attack, she pivoted around and slashed at an angle down at the Shinigami, aiming her kendo stick to strike him in the left shoulder.

Taien's eyes widened as his opponent dashed at him as he was attacking her. She was fast!! Though not by to much, it was enough of a gap to make a difference. However, just before she struck his face head on, Taien turned his head to the left a little bit, so the blow would send him spining away to the left. Why did he do this though? Simple. Because of his slash. He was attacking from the right with it, and being hit away by that hit to the face would cause it to circle around as he was spining away and hit her in the back area somewhere. On the blades current trajectory, it would hit either the back of her head or her neck. The kick added more speed and force to the blow, and the spin from her hit added even more momentum to the swing. In either case it wouldn't be good if it hit, and she probably wouldn't be able to dodge it, as she was currently trying to strike him now.

Even with the added speed and strength to the attack, there was one thing that Isabella had done to prevent the counterattack was basically, attack again. She was following up her first attack, so the movement would be one after another without pause, which in the end would aid in her defending. When she slashed down, the two shinigami's blades would collide and evidential drive the female skidding back across the floor, gritting her teeth. Taien was being highly annoying, using such methods one should never do in a real fight. if that was a real katana, Taien would be a half headless corpse and wouldn't have been able to counteract. So far, the female was winning this battle, it seemed like she was born for fighting with a blade, something that Taien wasn't. Taien was meant to be able to use kido more efficiently then an average shinigami but he was in the academy and did not know any kido yet. First day was just starting off great for him. "Two minutes, continue!" The teacher barked, currently passing by the ring of Taien and Isabella. Little time left, Isabella kicked off into a beeline straight for Taien, slashing at his chest diagonally one again.

One thing prevented the counter attack from working. And that was it was coming from the back, not the front. On top of that, the force from the spin was so great it litterally threw Taien in front of her as she was running. She could hit MUCH harder than any normal Shinigami could ever hope to. The force of the spin caused the blade of the Shinai to whack into the back of Isabella's head, however, Taien got hit again for his troubles. Hard. If it wasn't for the fact that it was a Shinai blade, Taien would be dead many times over by now. And of course, he was also dizzy from the spin cycle he got.

"Oyyyaaa~ oyyyaaa~ Dizzy~"

Taien said with spinning manga eyes. He shook his head a bit to clear it off however, and then heard the announcement made by the teacher.

"Oya oya, doesn't seem like im to good at Kendo, yaaaaan. . . ahh well, its still fun anyways! Im going to give it my all Isabella-San!!"

Taien said with a happy smile on his face. What the freak!? He was happy still!? How could anyone be happy with that kind of thrashing!?!? Taien's personality was one you were either annoyed with, or liked. Which group would Isabella fall under though? Time for that later though! Time for fighting now!! Taien decided to cut the silly moves and just fight for real now though. As Isabella slashed at him, Taien slashed upwards at the middle her sword to divert the blow upwards. After all, even if her strikes had so much strength behind them, it didn't matter if they didn't connect. He followed it up by three quick slashes to the chest, legs, and right arm.

IC: Now that Taien was getting down to business, a minuscule curl formed in the corner of Isabella's mouth, and her eyes, though still sharpened for combat, were now smiling. Taein swung his blade into hers, but the overwhelming momentum was toward him. He moved back with her, but he still managed to counterattack. Isabella was persistent though. She absolutely refused to give ground. As Taien's attacks came in, she dealt with them mercilessly.

The slash to the chest was shot down by a vertical block. It required so little effort on Isabella's part that she managed to regain an momentum that had been lost with the first clash. Taien's leg attack was met by another block from Isabella's now upside-down shinai. Now that Taein was slashing for her right arm, she needed to get the blade topside again quickly. As she twisted her arm to bring the shinai back up, she also rolled it over her left hand to create leverage. As the accelerated shinai crashed through Taien's, Isabella moved her left hand back down and gripped the handle. She followed the block through with both hands with a very quick, sharp movement followed by another.

The force of her block along with the full momentum of the fight in Taien's direction had finally put him off balance. That's when Isabella twisted her full body and drove the shinai into Taien's torso. Those who were there might, in their old age, remember this fondly as the historic first flight of the Magic Man. Taien might barely remember it at all. He had clearly lost this particular engagement. It was wonderfully timed though. Most of the class got to stare in awe as he soared through the air, straight for Noriku Sensei. Some cringed as he got closer, for it seemed he was probably going to be in a lot of trouble soon. Noriku Sensei lazily razed his hand in Taien's direction, and the collision was impressive. There was no indication that the collision with Taien's body had produced any counter movement in Sensei's arm or hand. It was as though he had hit a stone wall.

That's when the bell rang. "Class is dismissed."
