"Oya. . . oya. . . that was amazing Isabella-San, it looks like I wont be beating you in Kendo any time soon it seems. . ."
Taien said weekly with a smile still on his face. His body hurt all over. . . yet he was still smilling, happy he could meet someone strong in the beggining like this. This meant it was a good start for his acadamy days. As the sensei dismissed the class, he lay on the floor for a second more before taking a deep breath, pumping his legs back, and then jumping into a squating position.
"Yosh, looks like its time for my next class. See you later Isabella-San, hope to see you soon~♫"
Taien said with a singsong voice and a happy smile on his face. If memory served it was. . . Kido next!! Awesome! When he entered into the acadamy, he had been told he would be amazing at Kido, due to his insane amount of spiritual power. Just how well would it go though? Enough dwelling, onwards to class! Taien scampered off to the next classroom, finding the door and opening it with help from a map. What was inside?

OOC: Short post. I'll fill in later. gtg to an appointment
IC: Taien walked into the indoor kido-range. It was a large, mostly empty room. As he came in, he noticed a nerdly looking fellow leaving with his head buried in a book. There were targets of various types along the far wall. In the area closer to the door, however, there was a group of students talking excitedly. They were all very much looking forward to learning kido. Well, most of them were. There were a few people clearly destined for 11th Division. They were just not happy to be here. Then there were all sorts of other of various extremes all the way down to those destined to join the Kido Corps, like our hero.
Then someone began to speak. It was a midget with a brown bowl cut several feet off the ground. under the hair hung a face adorned with a monocle. Below that, a yellow sweater and brown shorts that functioned as well as pants for this fellow. This man was Kiroki Reti, S.D. of Reiology AND Reionomy. He'd been teaching kido and other spiritual subjects at the Academy for years. He insisted on teaching the introductory kido course because the formative experience is the most important part of kido development. He believed that he was the best qualified person to ensure the kido proficiency of the next generation of Shinigami. He was probably right, but nobody would know that from looking at him.
"Welcome to kido! My name is Reti-sensei, and I will be your instructor! I want all of you to try to shape reiatsu into a ball one after the other, telling me your name as you do!"

"Oyyaa oyyyaa!!! This is also a huge place!! Just how many gigantic rooms are in here?!"
Taien said once again, sparkles in his eyes and all around him. He also looked around the room at the people in here as well. There was the typical studying guy, the violent monkeys of 11th Division destiny, ninja like people, and of course, people gifted in the art of Kido. Like himself. Taien then noticed the small man in the yellow sweater with a monocle. He was the Sensei here, apperent enough from the speech.
Oya oya? A sphere?? Hmm. . . if its a sphere. . . think of a dim, white circle amongst a dark background, the brighter the sphere gets, the better its power, the larger it gets, the easier it is to control. . . All right, Operation Reitsu Forming is ago~♫![/i]
Taien said in his mind. Time to put it into action!! Taien cupped his hands together facing inwards and a hands length apart. He did as he instructed and focused on making a bright, large circle in his mind. His concentration was good to, his eyes were closed, and his Reitsu flared as he drew upon it to create the sphere.
"Oya oya!! Taien Hadohou is pleased to make your aquantince Reti-Sensei!!"
Taien called out as he put his full effort into his task.

As soon as Taien started, Reti was directly in front of him. He had used shunpo and was now holding his hands. He had sealed his reiatsu back inside of him. It wasn't anything too drastic. He'd basically just stopped him from starting. Kiroki Reti's smile or any look of excitement was gone. Actually, if you looked hard enough, you'd be able to see the excitement was still there but very serious. Dead serious.
"Taien Hadohou. You are not to use any reiatsu for anything at all under any circumstances from this point forward without my direct, explicit instruction. This applies not only in my class but outside the class and even the school. We will talk more after the introductions. Do I make myself clear?
Wow. Reti's never acted like this in any of the other Academy threads. What's the deal? Taien had better agree at least for now. When they were finished speaking, Reti went back to his previous spot and told everyone to continue. The worst of the Squad 11 hopefuls muttered their names and limply held their hands up. They were all fairly large except for one small guy named Bern. There seemed to be an unusual amount of disinterest in this class. Well, Reti wouldn't have any of that.
"I see many of you don't believe that spiritual studies might be helpful in your combat training. I urge you to reconsider in light of the following."
He cast his hand back and threw out a Shakoho. Wait, he didn't even say anything! Kido without incantation is one thing, but without the name or number or anything at all?! Is that even possible? Apparently. As the kido met the ground and exploded, everyone but Reti was knocked to the floor. It was probably for their benefit that he did this quick casting instead of a proper casting. Had it been a regular Shakoho, there would have been a lot of damage to the students and the building. Now he was using reiatsu to somehow amplify his voice
"NOW GET TO WORK! YOU WILL WORK ON FORMING A DECENT BALL AND HAVE A RESULT BY THE END OF THE PERIOD OR I WILL PHYSICALLY EXPEL YOU FROM THE ACADEMY! DO I MAKE MYSELF CLEAR?!"

"Oya. . . oya?"
Taien said surprised that his Reitsu had just been forced back by this small man. A momentary look of surprise was on his face as Reti-Sensei began to speak again, but by the end it had regained its normal smile, his eyes of sky blue and crimson red were lit up with light.
"Yessir, Reti-Sensei sir!"
Taien chriped at the end of the speech. Then Taien went about thinking about the way he was charging his Reitsu, realizing that the way he was using might be a bit dangerous if left unchecked. That could have been his mistake right there. Or there was another reason Reti-Sensei had stopped him from making a sphere. In either case, the small Sensei looked excited, that was plain as day. Then he went about punishing the rest of the students for not being enthusiastic enough. Unfortunately for Taien, Mr. Face met Mr. Floor for him.
"Oya oya. . . that hurt. . ."
Taien said as he got back up from the floor, rubbing his nose. Then he looked at Reti-Sensei and asked the diminutive Sensei,
"What would you have me do until the rest of the introductions are done, Reti-Sensei?"

OOC: Extra points for using the word "diminutive"!
IC: Everyone set about working excitedly now. Even the big Division 11 guys were impressed by the explosion, but that's not so surprising is it? Bern though was still not motivated. Well, that would just be his problem. Everyone else was now trying hard and gathering around the more successful ones. Reti left them all to their own devices for a bit. Some people began to approach Taien, but Reti stopped them with a glance. He actually made his eyes glow. They promptly left him alone.
"Taien Hadohou. It's even there in your name... The reason I instructed you not to use any reiatsu without my personal oversight is that these are your formative years. This is true of your classmates, but there is truly not much variation in their potential in the grand scheme. While my instruction may be the difference between a poor kido user and a sufficient or even proficient kido user, the end will not be much more dramatic than perhaps saving a few lives or ending a few hollows. A slight change of direction over a short distance is not significant.
You will become a sufficient kido user with no effort. You will become proficient with some. With instruction, you may become a master. With my instruction, you may become a legend. You have a huge distance to go, and especially here at the beginning, you need incredible precision if you wish to hit your target. I would like to oversee your development. If you agree, you must obey my previous instructions regarding your reiatsu, and you will receive instruction in this matter only from me. You will study with me instead of attending reiatsu focus class. In addition, you will study with me every day after classes. This is, of course, optional and entirely up to you. If it were up to me, it would not be up to you. Now, what is your decision: will you proceed like all the other students or make the correct decision?"

In all honesty, Taien was shocked at first. A legend? Him? That was mind blowing. Something that he hadn't even been concidering, and yet this teacher had called his potential to use Kido in the class of legends. Taien's ultimate goal was to help revive the Kido Corps, a group of the Seireitei that had seemingly fallen into the background of the grand scheme of things. Though people knew of them, it was mostly in name alone. If this dwarfish sensei, this Kido Instructer, could help him to become a legend, then he wouldn't mind at all. This made him extremely happy as well.
"Oya oya! Of course Reti-Sensei, I will happily accept your tutilage in the arts of Kido!! Ill hurdle any task, leap any bound, and break through any limits if you wish me to!!"
Taien proclaimed, gripping his own forearm, smiling and looking at the teacher. Things were going to be interesting these next few years, you could just feel it in the air. The first chapter of a legend was about to be written.

"Good. Now, you're probably using overly simplistic imagery in order to direct your reiatsu like a circle in order to form a ball. First, you must not use a circle image to form it. You must use a full sphere. Make sure you are fully aware of the sphere 360 degrees in both perpendicular planes. Second, you will not be forming a ball. Any spiritually inclined seal can form a ball. While they are forming a ball, you will be working to form a dot. The dot will be a dot, not a small ball, not tiny ball. A dot. Like this one."
Reti held up his right forefinger and spot of reiatsu appeared above it. It looked like a marble at first, but upon further inspection, that was only because of its brilliance. It was not nearly as large as a marble. An even closer inspection would reveal that it was no larger than a small bead in fact. Someone with sharper eyes would be able to see that it was closer to a grain of sand. In fact, it was much smaller than the visual threshold of most anything with eyes. It wasn't a perfect point; that would mean it had no measure at all. However, it would have been best to measure it in angstroms.

"Yessir, Reti-Sensei sir!!"
Taien called out, raising his hand in salute. He had to form a dot, the tiniest pinprick of Reitsu that he could make. It probably wouldn't be easy, however, his Reitsu was easily malleable, easy to shape and easy to control. If he didn't get it the first time, the experiance would help him the next attempt and so forth. Through failure, we grow. That is how most things worked out. Taien suddenly had a few questions to ask the small Sensei, and so he asked.
"Oya oya, Reti-Sensei. I have two questions. One, how difficult would you rank this task to an ordinary person, and two, though this seems a bit silly, I have permission to use Reitsu for this, yes?"
The reason Taien had asked the last question was because Reti-Sensei hadn't said he could use Reitsu yet. When Taien took orders, he took them seriously.

"Let us say that most Academy graduates would not be able to do it very well if at all. An ordinary person with the same experience as you would find it impossible. As for your second question, I commend you for asking it. At this most delicate juncture in your development, caution is advised, and it is best to err on the side of caution. Yes, you will use your reiatsu to form this dot as I have described.
Make sure you have mastered the image before you go on to making the dot. You will have to start by withholding power in order to keep the size down. With time, you will gain enough mastery to and control to make a dot with great strength, but for now you have only enough precision to confine a small amount of reiatsu to that size. Good luck. I must go supervise the other students now. However, if you have any questions, you must come to me immediately."
With that, Reti left Taien to his business. He was soon heard yelling encouragement and advice all over the room. Nobody bothered bothering Taien, but anyone with a question who had been frightened away before now stormed toward Reti-sensei. There had, indeed, been an increase in interest after the Shokkoho demonstration.

"Oya oya! Yessir, Reti-Sensei sir!!"
Taien said, saluting as his Sensei walked off to encourage the rest of the room. Taien then started to think of a good visualizing model to use as the base for the dot. He pondered this for a bit, looking up, down, and all around. He absent mindedly swished away a mote of dust that was in front of his face. Wait a second. . . a mote? Taien turned around and was greeted by a ray of light from one of the windows in the building. There were countless motes of dust just floating around in there, illuminated by the light of the sun. Such small specks floating in the air. . . all right! That would be his base for now, albiet he would have to shrink it more to fit specifications. Reti-Sensei did say he could accomplish it, just at a very low level though.
Taien closed his eyes and began to visualize. Everything was black at first, silent, composed, concrete. Then, a tiny tiny little thing began to move through it, though it looked empty, barren. A stream of the tinest possible amount of light flowed to it, and then into it, filling it to the fine line between to much and to little. The stream of light immediately faded off as it was at this point. At this point, Taien opened his eyes and focused the smallest amount of Reitsu possible into a point of space just above his right index finger. He recalled Reti-Sensei's dot and at the smallness that it had been. He called upon the image of it as well as his own visuallization, overlapping the two to make a sort of mixed projection that blended both into an incredably small dot of Reitsu. It was nowhere near as bright as Reti-Sensei's though, a dim, dinky little star floating above his right index finger. In fact, even with the light it gave off, however dim, you could still bearly see it. You could practicly only sense it with Energy Sensory. THATS how small it truely was. But it was there.
Now came the tricky part, how to get Reti-Sense's attention? If he let go of his concentration for a second, he knew he would loose it.

Luckily, Reti was paying close attention to Taien even while attending to the rest of the class. He came over and examined the dot. After a very brief moment, Reti offered some useful commentary.
*slap*
"DID YOU LISTEN TO MY INSTRUCTIONS AT ALL!?"
Reti reached forward and snuffed the dot with his fingers with disgust.
"If you do not obey, I will not help you. Do it again, and this time do what I told you to."
Reti went off again. Looks like Taien had better carefully review his instructions before trying again, or he might lose the chance to become something great and the Kido Corps would have to wait for some other person to come along and revive it.

Ouch. Taien keeps getting beat up today doesn't he? Ahh well, he took it in stride. Reti-Sensei wanted him to do it again? No problem. Though most people would call it a bit odd that he didn't cry, get angry, fume, or other normal things at the sign of failure.
All right, that didn't work at all! Lets try a regular dot this time, nothing to fancy. I made that little thing before, so I can do it, I just have to get it right this time.
Taien thought to himself. It was also obvious that Reti-Sensei could multitask fairly well as well. He was probably watching him right now even.
Now lets see. . . how to picture a dot? Generally a dot is a little point, most people percive it as a sphere. Reti-Sensei was saying I had to percieve a ball as a fully three dimensional picture, three sixty degrees, and both on both perpindicular plane. However, Reti- Sensei told me not to make a ball, but a dot. Perhaps this imagery will help me make the dot though. No sense in not trying.
Taien thought again. Then he began the process of making a dot again. He recalled that Reit-Sensei just made it appear in the air, just above his finger. So, Taien went to work. This time he pictured a dot, and used the aforementioned imagery to help shape it, sending his Reitsu to make it as Reti-Sensei had ordered. This time around, a solitary dot of Reitsu appeared above Taien's finger, just like Reti-Sense's. The only real difference between his and Reti-Sensei's now, was the brightness. While Reti-Sensei's looked like a marble, Taien's looked smaller, since he couldn't put to much power into it at this point.

Just as Taien finished forming his dot, Reti was there once again. After a very brief moment, Reti didn't slap Taien.
"Much better...
He stared at the dot a bit more. What was he looking for? What was there to see? Believe it or not, Reti had a lot of information to glean from this. Structure, intensity, flow, size, purity; Reti was looking for all of it. He knew the kid had potential, but now he'd know how much.
"Yes, much better indeed. Now that you're using a proper sphere in your mind, your tiny sphere is structured properly. It was so sloppy before. Your dot will never be a perfect point. Concentrating any amount of reiatsu into an infinitely small space is only possible with infinite control. It will always be a sphere. From now on, you are not to make a sphere larger than this. However, you must continue to increase the power in it. I could give you some advice, but you will benefit greatly from figuring these things out on your own. You will continue until the end of this period. If you do require help of any kind, do not hesitate to consult with me."
