Plotline: Cryptid is sending out forces to destroy anyone who threatens their plans. These forces are quite a moral challenge for most, though. With the opportunity to foil Cryptid’s scheme at hand, it is imperative for the group to face up against the forces coming their way, while also keeping in mind how the choices they make in battle affect the outcome.

Special Conditions: Each character can only join one Canon thread at a time. There is a strict one-week posting timer that begins once a previous participant posts. If the next participant fails to post during their turn during this time period, they get skipped. This does not mean they get dropped, but that participant’s character will suffer the consequences (such as being forced to take whatever damage has occurred due to a previous poster’s actions). Participants are free to drop if they so choose and new participants can join, but there can only ever be a maximum of four participants at any time. If someone gets skipped, the DM will post who was skipped and whose turn it is to post. If any participant is skipped 3 times within the Canon thread, they will be automatically dropped and someone new may be permitted to join.

DISCLAIMER: I fully expect your characters' Classes to increase because of other threads outside of the Canon! That is okay, but you are required to use the stats and skills your character has at the time of Canon entry. They cannot be updated. If your character was Class 6 for an Easy thread, for example, and you post your stats and skills as they were at Class 6, then that is what they will be throughout the duration of the Canon thread. If your character's Class increases to 5, that is okay. They are still required to use their Class 6 values. Likewise, if your character was Class 8 at the time of entry and increased to Class 6 outside of the Canon, they must still use their Class 8 stat and skill values. The same rule applies for any power changes/additions.

"UGH! Those damn brats... There's no way in Hell I'm gonna let them mess with everything I've planned over the years. I worked too hard on this.

A deep, masculine voice with an unmistakable Brooklyn accent was heard shouting in an office, clearly losing his mind with frustration. With a cigar in hand, smoke had been filling the room as the scent seeped outside the door, alerting the woman who stood outside to just how angry her boss had become. He was known for his tempers. He'd been this way for many years now. This wasn't the first time she'd had to talk him off a ledge, and judging by his mumbling, he was about at that point once again. It amazed her how emotional Anthony could be. Or, well, she supposed she could refer to him as Don. He insisted, especially since he practically idolized The Godfather.

"Sir, may I be permitted to enter? I see you're in the middle of something, but you did call for me."

"Aw, shit. Yeah, come on in," Anthony shouted from within the office since he'd heard the voice behind the closed doors.

So she was right. As the woman glanced around, her face not betraying any emotion her mind felt, she saw the papers strewn everywhere. His desk was a mess. The chair looked torn in some places. The window had been cracked. Pictures and paintings were ripped off the walls. So this is what his tantrums look like... She had only ever met back up with him after such events had concluded and his office was already cleaned. She wanted so badly to chuckle but knew she'd be in trouble if she did, so she remained relatively blank-faced as much as possible. She wasn't in the mood for a lecture today.

"Would you like to talk about it?"

Anthony eyed the woman fiercely. "Nah. Yeah. Whatever. I've been at this since before you were born, ya know. I'm a bonafide genius. These idiots think they can mess with me? Nah. Never. I'm going to make sure I show them a real good time."

"I assume that means sending me, right?"

"Nah. We gon' fight fire with fire. Call Johnny and let him know they can be released."

With a nod, the woman pivoted on her heels and left the office with a soft click from the door. Once it had been shut, she heard even more items being thrown and more screaming. She didn't bother holding herself back anymore and let out an uninterrupted laugh, mocking the insanity that she witnessed of her boss. He thought he had it all figured out. He didn't know he had trained such a weapon from all those years ago. He had no idea that she was pulling the strings now. What she needed was time. She needed an army. She believed in his cause, but only because she sought to assume control. So, fine. She'd go to Johnny. That would be exactly the thing she wanted.

It has come to light that the "they" Anthony was speaking of was his group of feral pseudo-Fullbringers. These people were all of the semi-successful instances that resulted from his years of experimenting on normal humans in an attempt to bring out their Fullbringer powers. They are not fully successful, though. They are rather mindless, not knowing completely what they are doing or the consequences of their actions. Now released to be completely free throughout New York City, they are causing major amounts of destruction and killing civilians left and right. Despite being a large city, it is not nearly as spiritually dense as Karakura Town or even Japan in general. It doesn't have the same heroes that Japan does.

In order to keep the peace and maintain order, organizations from the four major worlds have sent in their troops to combat the pseudo-Fullbringers. Of course, the easiest thing would be to kill them, but they're just innocent humans. They were taken from their families at a young age and forced to fight under Anthony who wanted nothing but chaos and to control the spiritual world. His full intentions still remain relatively hidden, but one thing's for sure. These pseudo-Fullbringers are attacking people, destroying stores and buildings, and no one has been able to stop them without their life suffering in the process. What can be done to help?

The setting for this thread is in the middle of the day in the streets of New York City. There is a large gathering of pseudo-Fullbringers in Times Square where they are actively attacking and killing normal humans since they are unable to distinguish civilian from true foe. Tensions are rising as the pseudo-Fullbringers have begun figuring out their powers, though it is important to note that there is something quite different about them than how normal Fullbringers operate. Their powers stem from their bodies rather than cherished objects. Since the experiments ended in failure for every single one of them, they mutated and didn't have a chance to link their soul - and soul powers - to an item they held dear. How will the group react to this sight?

Deployment was something that was a much more military phrase than it was anything else, and Raphael was not part of a military. But, due to what was going on, here he was on a plane. Hell had been unleashed upon the planet...again. New York City, one of the most biggest and most... Important wasn't quite the right word, he thought, as he flew over the land of the United States. It was the most noticeable.

The news of what was going on in New York had reached Japan and, more importantly Uzaki Enterprises. Raphael had stared at his phone in shock, for several seconds, before sending Kazura an email, saying he would be gone, for a little bit, and had hopped onto the next plane to to New York City. Of course, that would take several hours and he was already factoring for that, but it was going to be very difficult to get there... It was hellish, as he sat on the plane, tapping his foot, knowing that people were being atacked. New York City wasn't high on the priority list of the shinigami, and so Raphael was pretty sure he was heading into this alone. Well, kind of alone. He always had the dragons technique, if worst came to worst.

Raphael's plan was recon, first; he needed to assess the situation and see how bad it was. He'd heard multiple things from different online sources, people with strange superpowers, were attacking New York City. As he stood, and turned his phone back on, heard that they were advancing on Times Square. The majority of planes into the airport had been stopped and the airport largely evacuated, Raphael didn't have much to go through, and so he quickly made his way to Times Square, and watched from above, as the group were launching an attack. The people attacking were... haphazardly using their abilities. It was like they didn't know how to do so...

What... what is this?! he heard Hikisaku's voice, only barely.

"I don't know... But I hate it... This is...terrible."

This was going to be a helluva job...

[Mirim Frost]

When Mirim was delivered her second mission, she was estatic. The young fullbringer was eager to prove herself to the ones who took her in and gave her a new life. If it hadn’t been for them, she’d be rotting in a ditch. Though it was true her powers hadn’t fully matured, what she did have was worth using. Smaller jobs had involved using her as muscle. In terms of physical strength, she was among the strongest in X’cution, but that’s where it ended.

As it stood now, she only had her strength to rely upon. The intricacies of the mastery of fullbring was difficult to learn and master. She was a wielder of brute force because that’s what she had. With the multitudes of threats appearing everywhere, X’cution would be stretched thin. Mirim *wanted* to stand by Luke once again against the bount menace, but she was needed elsewhere.

A rogue group of fullbringers would reveal themselves in the States, and Mirim would be needed to help put an end to their havok. She would arrive in New York, not by air or sea, but by the void sea that lay between worlds. Upon the backs of the hollowed wolves that looked after her ever since she first lay foot in Hueco Mundo, she’d arrive. They were forbidden from helping, after all this was her fight.

Once alone, she’d pull a guitar from her back and began to strum, her fingers skillfully plucking at the steel strings of the acoustic guitar. Around her men and women fled, directing Mirim on where to go. “To the town of New York City, walked a stranger one fine day”

The screams nearly overshadowed that of her song, but the sounds of the carnage beyond the fleeing crowd ahead gave credence to the words she sung. After all, the song wasn’t for the fleeing citizens. “Hardly spoke to those around her, didn’t have too much to say.”

“No one dared to ask her business, no one dared to make a slip”, she continued before stopping, now alone as the crowds had all but fled from her destination. “The stranger there among them, had a big iron on her hip, big iron on her hip”

Screaming could be heard all over New York City. The citizens had been running for their lives for at least an hour when they realized that hundreds of pseudo-Fullbringers began attacking, though the normal civilians would have no idea that's what these victims were. Woman and children were seen running into stores and locking doors, though many of the shop owners had locked their doors ahead of time when the outbreak first began. The pseudo-Fullbringers had been breaking through windows, grabbing people, and brutalizing them. As mindless berserkers, this was all they knew to do once they were given the orders from Anthony.

The world had lived in ignorance for so long that something like this was hard to believe. With sirens blaring, even police officers were starting to get involved, unsure of whether or not the pseudo-Fullbringers could be shot. Through non-traditional means, perhaps bullets would have worked. Unfortunately, normal bullets didn't stand a chance. The pseudo-Fullbringers were able to either completely deflect the bullets using their strange body-originated powers or block the bullets from entering their skin entirely simply due to their enhanced strength and durability. Now at a loss, the police started working on an evacuation plan.

Raph and Mirim would be subjected to the torture as they came into Times Square, realizing the massive screen had been knocked off its perch on the side of a building. It had crashed onto the street and was broken up into pieces. Bodies, now deceased, were strewn everywhere, impossible to avoid. Among them were people of all ages, including those who had only been alive for a few days. The monsters Anthony unleashed didn't discriminate, and he didn't want them to. He was ready to stop anyone and everyone who got in the way of his plans, regardless of who they were. His goal was going to be seen through no matter what.

Upon entering Times Square, out of the hundreds of pseudo-Fullbringers who had been unleashed, five were approaching the two regular Fullbringers. It would be entirely clear that they didn't have much going on in their mind. They were acting on instinct, ready to pounce if given the chance. They didn't have much of a choice, anyway. Mentally, they were being controlled by Anthony's influence due to the nature of the experiments that were performed on them. These pseudo-Fullbringers would be looking for a fight, and two people who were very much alive in the center of Times Square were the perfect candidates.



OOC: The official posting order is Raph, Mirim, then the Canon Master. This is the order we will go off of in the event of skipped posting turns. Each participant has a week since the previous participant's post to make their own post before they get skipped. The Canon Master counts as a participant in this case.

During this time, be as cinematic with your abilities as you want. You can choose to either defeat or capture the pseudo-Fullbringers. Your attacks won't cost any Reiatsu until you get put against a legitimate NPC, but until then, consider these opponents as Class 8 at the beginning level. You have the freedom to write as much as you want for a few turns and I'll add details in as we go, but it's up to you what happens to these guys. You're going to be stronger than them by default until I throw one of my Rank 2 ones into the thread for you both to fight. So for the next turn, simply use your abilities however you wish!

Raphael walked into Times Square. Oh, it was hellish. He could see the dead people all over the place...bodies just littered the street, and their spirits were just walking around. Well, walking around wasn't quite accurate... They were freaking the fuck out. Staring at their bodies, and the, now broken, chains, screaming. Raphael sighed. This was bad. Long as he lived, this was going to be a helluva report...

This... This is horrible... Hikisaku, clearly seeing what was happening, through Raphael's vision. This... They mock what we are... what all fullbringers are!! He'd never heard Hikisaku so... angry.

You're right, Hikisaku... This is unforgiveable...

"Hrmm... What to do, what to do..." In reality, he was furious. Whatever these were, whoever they had been... They weren't fullbringers, they'd probably never even heard of the term and wouldn't have wanted this, if they could've refused. Raphael's stomach churned, as the five began to approach him and the woman. he didn't know who she was, but they didn't exactly have time for a lot of niceties...

"Quick introductions," he quickly said glancing at Mirim, "I'm Raphael. Request, can we try to not kill them, if at all possible?" Despite his request, Raphael knew that, even for him, not killing them was going to be hard. The ones coming at them... well, they were weak. He'd hunted stronger hollows, and he really REALLY didn't want to kill these people. It wasn't their fault that they were like this, but if he got his hands on the person, well, he planned on a long, slow, painful death for that asshole.

He took a breath, before suddenly moving at them with Bringer's Light. The moment he was in front of them, he would deliver a punch at their stomachs, not wanting to kill them, but also not having any abilities more suited for... capture, his plan was to effectively knock them out. He preferred capturing them, but defeating them was going to be kept open.

Due to the weakened state of the pseudo-Fullbringers, a punch may not be enough to completely take them out, but it would certainly help. Raph's thought process was in the right direction, but there were just too many of these things for him to even think about simply punching one by one. They'd eventually end up swarming him, and he'd need to think of other options before ultimately giving his life up to them. Fortunately, it would take a lot of effort on their part, too. Not many of the pseudo-Fullbringers were at the level where they'd even pose much of a threat, and they didn't even have real powers yet. For the most part, they were effectively deranged humans who were acting purely on animalistic instinct.

One important note, though, was that Raph and Mirim would notice the ages of these pseudo-Fullbringers. Each and every one of them was exceptionally young. None of them exceeded sixteen years of age, and several of them appeared to be within the single digits. That would be interesting. Why were they all so young? Did they have some specific reason, or was this just Cryptid's doing? There had been reports already of children being kidnapped. It'd be interesting if these children ended up being those same exact victims. This only meant that they likely had families who were looking for them, and that would also mean that fighting them off got more complicated.

Despite this, screams still spread in the background. People were still dying, though not at tremendous rates. The attackers were weaker, after all. Stronger than an average human, which is why they were capable of killing, but still weak compared to any other spiritual being. Raph would need to figure out the best way to deal with them without causing more damage. The death toll for the normal humans of New York City was somewhat rising, though the total number hadn't been confirmed. Helicopters started flying in the skies, as well, reporting on the strange outbreak of "rabid" humans. Most of the world didn't know about the spiritual world, right? So how could Raph and Mirim possibly explain what they were capable of doing if they got caught?

Raphael had been hitting them, and yet there were two major disadvantages to his plans: numbers and their power. They were empowered which made them hardier and harder to pin down. And from the sheer numbers, they would overwhelm him, if he didn't act fast... He needed another strategy and so he did the next best thing that he'd been good with. This was the best thing that he could think of to keep from killing them, but to at least catch them...

Raphael leapt backwards, and took in a deep breath, and suddenly let out a frigid breath that quickly turned into a snowstorm. The main point of this seemed to be to simply stop the man teenagers and kids. The frost would build up around their feet, stopping their movement and keeping them from moving. All he needed to do was to stop them. Whatever the hell was going on, it wasn't their fault. They were just victims in all this...

...this... This is abyssmal... We must try to save as many of them, as we can...
