There it was, like the maw of a ravenous beast. Students watched on, frozen in horror as the gaping jaw of a Garganta opened up before their very gazes. It was in the middle of the Rukongai, how could this happen-?! What Arrancar would be brazen enough to open a spiritual portal of the dead straight into the middle of Soul Society. What nerfarious objective could they possibly have in mind in such a short time after the last invasion?!

"OI-! Serenity?! I think we were a little off-target." Yapped a familiar voice out from the dark emptiness. It spoke, yet there was nobody to be seen who had emerged from the portal. Gawking onlookers were stunned with trepidation, some searched their surroundings for a source that it was coming from. In spite of their frantic glances, it seemed that in the moment an answer had eluded them; the fundamental truth of their fruitless search.

Yes, that fundamental truth that they had failed to look down at the ground! One female student begun what felt like a shriek in horror as she spotted from the corner of her glance what seemed to be movement... still wrapped in that ethereal dark produced by the gate opened into the Rukongai. It was a small figure... very small, actually; now that the student got a better glance of what was emerging, her shrill voice lost its strength.

Lupine ears emerged first from this Garganta, as the form of Shio; the one and only Septima Espada, emerged from nothing! It seemed like Soul Society was far too long overdue for its monthly invasion, she thought as she struggle to climb over the hurdle that was the opened jaw of the Garganta. 'Struggle' was correct, it took her a few prolonged moments to clamor over the thing, to which she then 'fell' out of it, landing on her face, jumping to her feet.

On observation, it was too peaceful and damn quiet here! And whilst those Shinigami goons are lapping up the finer joys of harmless student life, they get sent out to die tragic deaths at the hands of Hollows like that Menos-Class gillian Shio befriended the other day. Tragic! It was absolutely the tragic truth - the fact of the matter was.

"ATTENTION ALL STUDENTS OF THE SOUL SOCIETY INSTITUTION FOR EDUCATION; THIS IS THE STRONGEST HOLLOW IN HUECO MUNDO SPEAKING." Using her Kigen ability to form a Megaphone out of nothing but the soil beneath her feet. Shio had yelled into it. It wasn't working. In frustration she smacked it a couple more times then put it in front of her gaping plushie mouth to announce once again. "Ahem- ATTENTION ALL STUDENTS-..."

This time, her voice carried clearly throughout the entire complex. "THIS IS YOUR NEW SELF-APPOINTED TEACHER SPEAKING-! TODAY, WE WILL BE PERFORMING SPECIAL EXERCISES TO HELP IMPROVE YOUR - quite frankly - LOUSY COMBAT CAPABILITIES." Listening to this whole debacle, the once frozen in place academy Shinigami began to murmor between themselves; it appeared that, owing to Shio's plushie constitution, some had eased their tensions.

Other more brazen ones, on the other hand, scowled at the doll. Naturally, Shio noticing such a reaction scowled back at them; "YOU THERE, PINEAPPLE HEAD - STEP FORWARD!" the Septima yelled, and pointed to one such scowling individual. Shio eyed him from head to toe as he approached with a cocky grin; other students began to laugh, some were still incredibly anxious looking at the Garganta. It was true, they couldn't sense anything just yet.

Shio had masked her reiatsu, and given that the Mod Soul - the Septima was only using her Kigen for the comical use of producing an overly loud megaphone at the moment, it were practically as though her spiritual pressure were nonexistent. To them, she must have sensed about as spiritual adept as any other student here. As for who this 'Serenity' was, they had not appeared through the Garganta just yet, it might've even been a bluff.

So there stood Mr. Supercilious and Haughty himself in tow; another student who had approached just behind the other one. Wearing his academy Shihakusho and waltzing forward without any guard in his step. "Hey pipsqueak, why don't you just-"

SPLAT.

"ERRR- BBZZT, THAT'S WRONG BUDDY!" Students around screamed in terror, viscous crimson oozed from many gaping eviscerations made all across Mr. Supercilious' body as, before it even registered on the senses of his thug-buddy, his blood-spurting body waned out of conscious before him, slumping to the ground in front of Shio. Taking her time to motion as though to sigh, Shio impatiently tapped the megaphone twice against her shoulder.

"Wooow your approach there was soo bad-! Look's like we have our work cut out for us...". That megaphone that Shio held, whose protruding spikes withdrew into its gaping amplifier; nobody could have possibly told it could become such a weapon until it was too late. Shio placed her petite plushie boot firmly against the unconscious head of the half-dead student and put the megaphone to her mouth again. "ALRIGHT. NEXT UP - CHOP CHOP, DON'T KEEP TEACHER WAITING.".

Speaking of keeping people waiting, Shio turned her megaphone on the Garganta instead; taking a deep breath in before howling as loud as her voice would permit; "S E R E N I T Y ! ! !".

As she worked to open up the Descorrer, Serenity hummed a chipper tune to herself while her and her plush friend started to walk the infinite expanse of Garganta. Such a day seemed to be quite entertaining for the two of them, all things considered; the moment that the two had hatched the idea to go and train some Shinigami students, Serenity felt utterly thrilled to see just what was going to come of their little trip. She hadn't been into the other worlds without Charlotte very often, so if nothing else? This was a wonderful way to to show that she was capable!

Practically skipping through the bleak dimension behind Shio, Serenity continued to flip and flop through various papers she brought with her. Ones that she'd spent all afternoon writing herself, in fact! She wanted to make sure that they were gonna make good teachers, even if the situation did call for a 'lil bit of force. Or, more likely, a lotta bit of force. They were showing up to Soul Society practically unannounced, and after a large-scale attack no less! Seris had shared that much with both her and her older sister well enough, so this was certainly a bit of a dangerous time to be doing so. Regardless, the risks weren't a problem!

As the two began to approach their destination, Serenity had heard her friend call out to her. "OI-! Serenity?! I think we were a little off-target." Gently tapping her palm to her forehead, Serenity sighed. "Heck!" She shouted into the abyss, "I'm still getting used to this whole 'portal' thing, I'm sorry! Gimme jusssst a sec and I'll see what I can do to get us there a little easier!" Smiling to herself, she turned around, took a few paces behind her, and left the Descorrer on the other side open for Shio to wander out on her own for a moment.

While Shio presumably stepped out, and faint voices could be heard by her, Serenity simply sat down where she was and got to amping up the brainpower. She wasn't the greatest when it came to figuring out locations, but she knew full well that she was gonna need to put her algebra skills to the test! Or was this trigonometry? She couldn't tell, nor did she know why math had to do with such big words given it was about numbers, but that wasn't something she could afford to think about at the moment! She needed to try to figure out the distance between here and where they were looking to go, and quick! She didn't want Shio to end up getting into any troubling situations if she could help it.

Though, it seemed that was wishful thinking. "ALRIGHT. NEXT UP - CHOP CHOP, DON'T KEEP TEACHER WAITING." As her friend's voice echoed from the other side, Serenity knew that she didn't have much time left. With a resounding "Eep!" from hearing her shout, she stood up and quickly trotted over toward the exit. Met with another shout of her name, prompting a scared shriek from the girl, she quickly rushed out from the Descorrer, and bowed her head right next to Shio.

"S-Sorry for the delay!" she exclaimed, dropping papers to the floor, "I was tryin'a get everything situated!" With a soft huff, and after placing down said papers on Shio's new desk (wonder how that got there), she placed her hands on her hips, and stared at the class with a triumphant glare; to those that knew the both of them, it was exceedingly apparent that she was trying to take a page out of her older sister's book. "Allllllright!" she shouted, her soft voice struggling to carry much further than the room they were in, "you there!" She pointed to one of the students in the back. The girl, pointing a finger at herself to make sure she knew whom Serenity was pointing to, stared on in confusion.

"Yes, you!" Serenity shouted back, "I'm fixin' for something to drink! Do me a favor and get Miss Kyrou and I a couple of slushies n' we won't have any problems!" She'd learned from Charlotte that threatening folks to get what you want was okay in certain circumstances; this seemed to be the appropriate one to flex those skills. Especially if she wanted her older sister to be proud of her after this little escapade; she could barely contain the excitement from that possibility!

[Celes Shindazu]

Today was a beautiful day. The sun shone brightly, a gentle breeze blew, and the light chirps of the natural ambience could be heard. Amidst the calming sound of the forest, a soft hum could be heard as Celes strode along a gravel path. The tune was one that she had heard once during a patrol in the Human World. Her voice would occasionally light up, singing a verse. "I think it's time to set this world on fire~ I think it's time to push it to the edge~" She'd then go silent and return back to her humming. Whatever it was, she simply tried to keep herself in a pleasant mood. After all, the stress of Captaincy had been piling up lately. 

After all, Soul Society had taken some hits recently. Invasions from Zombies, roaches and most recently Hell left the Captain with a large stack of paperwork. It really seemed that every week some new foe wanted to test themselves and bring down Soul Society. Time and time again, they had endured. They were resilient. They were able to stand their ground against any enemy who had revealed themselves. Even despite that, the number of bodies that were left in the wake of such attacks were staggering. The paperwork came secondary to the grief that Celes had felt over the loss of her own Division. Her soldiers. Her family. It tore her heart just thinking about it. 

Naturally this was not the only of Celes' grievances. It was becoming harder and harder to ignore the influences of her Inner Hollow. Nightmares, just as Kimiko had once described them, had begun to haunt her most nights. Hellscapes in which she lost control. Times she'd viciously rip through those she deemed her family and friends. Each night she'd wake up in a cold sweat, screaming in horror. The worst part? There was absolutely nothing she could do about it. She was utterly outmatched in ferocity and ability by her Inner Hollow. She took a deep breath and shook her head for a moment. She had to calm herself. She was here to relax after all. The last she wanted to do was bring herself down. 

Where was she headed? Shin'ō Academy. It had been so long since she had last visited, but each time would be more pleasing than the last. It was where she had originally met and bonded with Kimiko after all. Aside from that, the Captain often came to watch some of the classes. She always liked to see how the next generation of Shinigami were being prepared. Occasionally she tried to give pointers to select students and on even rarer occasions, she would assist with teaching a class. This time, however, would merely a leisure visit. A time to reflect and grow. With this in mind, she continued along the path as the forest began to thin out more and more.

As she drew closer, the sounds of clashing wood would ring in her ear. Picking up the pace with a light jog, a smile slowly creeped onto her face. Growing brighter by the moment, she'd continue to follow the path until it split. Shifting her weight, Celes made a sharp turn and ran along the side pat to find herself in a large clearing. A dozen or so students were paired up, practicing forms on each other with bokken. At the head of the group, an instructor simply paced from side to side, nodding her head. "Stand firm and strong. Put your heart and soul into each strike Haru... Careful Petra. Don't get too reckless and drop your guard..." Along with the instructions, the clearing would light up with the enthusiastic cries of the students. 

As they continued with their sparring, Celes would slowly walk around the group. Keep a close eye on each pair she passed, the Captain would carefully observe their movements. Each one of them demonstrated differing skills with the blade. Some had better footwork than others. Yet despite the differences in skill, all among them shared the same trait. Each was approaching the exercise with passsion and enthusiasm. Celes' smile, at this point, would become even more prominent. Naturally her presence did catch the eye of a few students as some of them stopped their training. Soft murmurs arose from the group. "Is that a Captain...? Wow, an actual member of the Gotei... I wonder what Division she is." As more and more of the group began to halt to stare in wonder, Celes chuckled. "Please, please. Don't stop on my account. Continue." She gave a small wink as she took a place next to the instructor. SHe grinned for a moment before echoing her comment. "Well go on. You all heard her. Hop to it!"

After a few moments and some more soft murmurs, the sparring would continue. The instructor turned her head to the Captain. "Well, well. Still finding a way to be a distraction, ey Celes?" The Shinigami turned to look at the instructor and grinned. "Hey. It's just proof that you can't keep them in line. By the way, that's Captain Celes to you." The two women stared at each other for a moment, glaring at each other with eyes like daggers. The air between them almost seemed to grow serious, but then... Celes chuckled softly. The instructor followed shortly after. Soon both women would break into hysterical laughter before regaining their composure. "It's nice to see you again Celes." The Captain smiled brightly. "You too, Venus." Not having talked to her old mentor in a while, Celes found this a welcome change of pace. 

"So, you here on official business? I didn't hear that you were teaching any classes today." The woman giggled softly. Celes simply shook her head in response. "Nope. I'm just trying to clear my head, really. Things have been stressful with all the recent attacks lately. Thought I'd drop by to see how the Academy was holding up." Venus simply nodded and sighed briefly. "Makes sense. Things have been a little hectic lately, but nobody said that the life of a Shinigami would be easy." A silence arose between the two women as Celes took her words in stride. It would continue on a for a bit until Venus broke the silence once more. "Anyway, I've my hands full with this group. You should check by Shin'ō. I'm sure there's bound to be some students who would love to meet a Captain." Celes stared at her friend as she merely received a wink. The Captain simply rolled her eyes in response. "Trying to get rid of me already. I see how it is~" She'd turn to Venus, preparing to walk off before turning her head. "Hey! Meet me at the Academy when you're done here. I'd love to catch up." Shooting her a smile back, Venus nodded. With that, Celes turned to the group of students. "All of you keep up the good work!" Shortly after, she'd disappear from sight and return to the path.

Shin'ō wasn't that much further away, and the crowns of the surrounding trees receded enough to reveal the brightened glow of the sun. Right beneath it would be Shin'ō Academy in all of its glory. Gazing upon it again filled Celes with warmth. This is where the hearts of young Shinigami were tempered. Their individual skills fostered and horned. It was a place of learning and Celes fondly remembered her own days within the fabled Academy. Drawing closer, the Captain rose up the steps to the front door. Just as she was about to reach it though, Celes froze. A sudden ping of reiatsu lit up with the Captain catching a glimpse of it. The strange thing about it? It did not feel like the reiryoku of a Shinigami. She raised an eyebrow in confusion before leaning forward and opening the door.

Much to her surprise, the halls would be empty. Not a soul in sight. "Hmm. Everyone must be in class. Still... what was that I felt?" Soon, Celes heard the distant rambles of a voice. "ALRIGHT. NEXT UP - CHOP CHOP, DON'T KEEP TEACHER WAITING." It sounded boisterous and frankly, completely unlike how a teacher should act. Celes felt it only prudent to check it out. She had a bad feeling about all of this after all. With a sense of urgency in her steps, Celes sped down the hall. As she drew closer, another voice completely unlike the last became known to the Captain. "I'm fixin' for something to drink! Do me a favor and get Miss Kyrou and I a couple of slushies n' we won't have any problems!" Just as she had reached the door, Celes would not hesitate to look inside. Needless to say, she would be shocked.

She could sense the fear that gripped the students. It hung in the air like a foul stench. Walking into the classroom, she'd stand witness to a horrid sight. The pool of crimson red stained the floor, clinging to the body of the student. Before him was... a plushie? Next to the plushie was a young girl. She couldn't be taller than 5'2". Both of them stood out from the class like a sore thumb, but the young girl among them caught most of Celes' attention. Her clothing. Those white robes. She had learned well to recognize them. The clothing of Las Noches! "You've got to be fucking kidding me! More of them?!" It wasn't long after the invasion that Celes had come into contact with the Noveno Espada, Lagos. To brazenly attack the Academy though... that was sure to earn Celes' ire. 

She felt her blood boil like liquid fire. It roared within her veins. She clenched her fist and grit her teeth. She was pissed! It took all of her self-control to stop herself from pouncing upon the pair like a bat out of hell. Unfortunately, she needed to remain calm. She had learnt quickly that violent emotion was a trigger for her Inner Hollow to wiggle itself free. The last thing she needed was that bastard to show himself! For now, she simply calmed herself to the best of her abilities. With a slow cadence, she began to approach until she would walk past the students and up to the bleeding, maimed body. She'd speak up, clearly addressing the students behind her. "Don't worry. I won't let anything further happen to any of you." There would be a warmth and reassurance to her voice. This tone would change entirely as she turned to face the pair of girls before her. "As for you two. My name is Celes. Who might you be?" Celes' prime objective was always to repel. Before that though, she'd try to reason, but something made her feel that this would not be reasonable group...

Taking her mouth away from the Megaphone in front of it, Shio leisurely and happily responded to the command made by Serenity, turning her smiling face to look back towards the Primera; "Oh I like the sound of that! All this yelling has Sensei quite perched, my throat is bone dry- HEY!" Taking notice of the student that Serenity had pointed out, who was attempting to sneak out of the room. "Don't even THINK ABOUT slacking off-! Now hurry and get us those slushies, stat!".

With that final word from Shio, it should've been the end of that. However, just as the girl was about to leave the room, had the door opened before that. Shio's lupine ears perked up from noticing the sound first, then turned her keen azure gaze to see what it was; this was key, as it was a dead giveaway that Shio, despite her rowdy and outwardly thoughtless demeanor, had sensed the approach of someone else before they had opened that door.

In came one of them - the goons. Immediately, the once joyful expression of the Septima frowned. Vibrant glowing hair, their posture. Given that Shio had been present for the hellion invasion of this same realm, it was simple for her to pick apart the differences both in pose, gate and spirituality that distinguished Celes from the rest of these academy students. But all of that was besides the point, there was something else more pressing at hand.

"OI-! WHAT DID I JUST SAY, KEEP IN LINE YOU LEMMINGS!" An odd choice of phrasing directed at the remaining academy students, who once had seen Celes enter, had attempted to leave the room. Shio almost felt the grit of when she ground her little felt teeth together, growling almost like an incredibly aggressive Chihuahua about to bark. That was about when Celes walked further into the room, her ambient spiritual presence crashing up against theirs.

"Don't worry. I won't let anything further happen to any of you." Words spoken with confidence and leadership to be sure. It ticked Shio off to an immense degree. Although, given the much closer proximity of Celes, given the Captain had stopped a few meters short of the pool of blood that belonged to the poor sod that Shio's plush boot was resting on; yeah, suffice to say that Celes was now the primary focus of her attention.

What ensued was something of a staredown between this fierce, one foot and two inch tall animated plushie, and this fully grown adult woman. If it weren't for the presence of the maimed body in the room, one might even call it full of humor; in fact, if it weren't for the suffocating spiritual energies swirling the room, it wouldn't be out of place in a comedy. "As for you two. My name is Celes. Who might you be?" - the Captain asked, and Shio replied.

"Once again showing up to the call of those in need; introducing yourself, and acting all noble..." - It was not the answer Celes was after, that was for sure. Clenching her tight puffy mitten into a fist, and grasping her Megaphone with the other, the Mod Soul raised it right up to face Celes, gasped for air and yelled into it; "WELL YOUR HELP IS NOT NECCESSARY - NOBLE SAMURAI. GO BACK TO PICKING DAISIES IN SEIREITEI - WE HAVE A CLASS TO TEACH!".

Upon finishing those words, Shio noticed in the corner of her gaze that the students had begun evacuating the room whilst she had been distracted. Tch. Her Megaphone changed its angle to face those attempting to leave, and yelled out again; "DON'T THINK WE'RE DONE IN OUR CLASS JUST BECAUSE YOUR OTHER TEACHERS ARE TOO DAMN SOFT-!!!". Upon the enunciation of that final 'T' Shio tossed the Megaphone across the room; with a whole twenty-five strength it flew not even a few meters.

What happened next was a smooth sequence of simultaneous events; involving the Megaphone, the Maimed Student, furthermore Serenity and Shio herself.

Whilst that Megaphone that Shio had been using had taken flight, Shio had changed her posture. It was not a fighting posture. It almost looked like a resignation; rolled back eyes, and an inaudible sigh written on her plushie face. Her boot had been taken away from the still-breathing student, it had never been with much weight to begin with. What occured next, however, had absolutely no tell whatsoever; especially to someone in Celes' angle.

As though a plank had come loose on a wooden floor, the ground beneath the student shifted; and carved itself out in a perfect rectangle. It looked like a scene straight of out Looney Tunes. This 'springboard' of wood brazenly materialized out of what was previously nothing but the plain boarded floor, and catapulted the beaten body of the boy towards Celes. There was no visual tell from Shio or Serenity, who Celes might have been focused on, it simply happened.

Just as Mr. Supercilious, as Shio had self-named him, was flung in Celes' direction did the Megaphone that would have looked like Shio had discarded shapeshifted; just prior to hitting the ground. It swerved, curled into a ball, almost kneaded itself like a ball of dough before rolling out into the shape of an elongated french breadstick. Bewildering if Celes was able to keep up with it, but that was not the end of it either.

The appropriately named breadstick made of naught but dirt swirled around like a curved blade in rotation. It was by no means sharp or had any pointed end to note, so perhaps it was more aptly described as a baton in mid-twirl. In spite of what one might elect to call it, this baton was not one that remained suspended in place. It had flung itself toward Celes; it launched itself on a direct trajectory aimed at her face, with the pointed end leading.

Presenting in front of Celes was a quite straightforward 'attack', if it could even be called that; without a doubt her line of thinking would be. 'Dodge the projectile', and then, 'rescue the student'. That was because, the 'Breadstick Baton', looked like a linear projectile. It was slow, but not slow enough that the catapulted boy would reach Celes first. It had to be that order of things, and therefore, not much thought would be paid to what the 'Breadstick' was made of.

In the instant just after the 'Breadstick Baton' passed by the flung body of the student, it burst. It was made of dirt, after all. With all these distractions as they were; the peril that the student was in because they were flung so haphazardly, the odd way in that the attack had shaped itself, not to mention the presence of both Shio and Serenity themselves, who had remained suspiciously still within this entire moment. No thought could be spared for the fact it were made of dirt, surely?

So, it burst open with force; Celes was bombed with an explosion of tiny dirt particles. Of course, the logical thing to do would be to shield your face in a sandstorm; whether Celes chose to do that or not were up to her person. Nonetheless of her choice, the combination of all of these factors created a distraction that Shio might only name as 'sufficient enough', and given the opening to do so, her petite doll form shifted much like the baton had earlier.

Except instead of turning into something, anything visible, it simply... condensed inward. All of the physical matter that made up Shio's body curved, twisted, pressed into a finite point. Then just as Celes might have the chance to catch this bloodied body, poof. In her perspective, Shio had vanished. Completely, vanished. It might have looked like a step technique; it certainly had the speed of one. However, something was different.

If Celes trusted her combat instincts, then her first reaction might be to attempt to sense Shio elsewhere in the room; to hear, or even catch a glimpse of her figure. Even if Celes tried any of these, which in her vast combat experience likely would immediately, she'd be unable to locate Shio. Most importantly above all: it would keep her on guard from a possible follow-up attack.

Serenity would be the only one who would be aware of what Shio had done. That was because Shio had merged with her person using 'Hollow Synthesis'. It had numerous effects upon doing so, and the one that had the best chance of bewildering Celes was that, unless Celes had 'Energy Sensory' capabilities on par with Shio, which she did not, then Shio would detect upon her senses as the selfsame entity as Serenity; it was indistinguishable.

"Forget this blonde Soul Society labrador-" Shio communicated to Serenity, telepathically, and at a speed that matched her mental acuity, "-our students are escaping class, CHASE after them!".

"Quite glad you think so, Miss Shio, I-" Serenity's words quickly fell short as she was a rather astute-looking individual walking through the door. Green hair like Charlotte, though stood shorter. She wore a fancy white jacket overtop her normal robes, though; something that worried Serenity to the very core. This was a Shinigami captain, wasn't it? Was she ready to deal with something like that? She couldn't really tell, and to be frank she wasn't sure if she wanted to tell.

"Don't worry. I won't let anything further happen to any of you." Yup, this was definitely a captain. She spoke with such a calm aura to her; just like Charlotte when she was speaking to Serenity. While it would've been otherwise calming to her, hearing it come from someone else felt her with a rather overwhelming sense of dread. She couldn't quite put a finger on it, but something about the way that Celes spoke left Serenity with a level of unease. Only further compounded as she addressed the two of them. "As for you two. My name is Celes. Who might you be?"

"I-I..." Serenity started, struggling to muster up the courage to say something, before Shio thankfully saved her and decided to speak in turn. "Once again showing up to the call of those in need; introducing yourself, and acting all noble... WELL YOUR HELP IS NOT NECCESSARY - NOBLE SAMURAI. GO BACK TO PICKING DAISIES IN SEIREITEI - WE HAVE A CLASS TO TEACH!" Smiling greatly, and picking herself up from her mood, Serenity simply put her hands on her hips and huffed toward Celes, delivering perhaps the most powerful line she could've in the situation. "Y-yeah!"

Though, it seemed that the girls' hard work was quickly going to waste; similarly to Shio, Serenity made immediate notice of the fact that folks were quickly starting to leave the building, and was made even more aware of this fact as Shio shouted in turn. "DON'T THINK WE'RE DONE IN OUR CLASS JUST BECAUSE YOUR OTHER TEACHERS ARE TOO DAMN SOFT-!!!" And, once again, Serenity felt it was time for another powerful one-liner. "Y-yeah!!" That'll teach 'em.

Though, what happened next left Serenity with quite an amount of shock. Watching as quite a number of things began to fly across the room -- the megaphone Shio had been holding, what looked to be a floorboard, a whole-ass student -- Serenity simply stood there almost in a state of panic. Though, it wasn't quite a nervous panic or anything, more an antsy panic. Like she was preparing to make a move of her own. She didn't quite know how to react at the moment, given everything was happening so quickly, but she didn't want to let Shio down either!

Briskly moving closer to the gathering crowed, Serenity threw her arms down, and picked up one of the desks in the front row by its legs. Given her surprisingly-Olympian strength, this proved to be little issue as she spun on her heels for a quick moment, before using that built-up momentum to chuck the desk toward Celes' left; she wasn't exactly able to aim all that well, given the desk was still pretty heavy for her, but she was gonna try!! If nothing else, the Captain was going to get hit by the chunk of wood and metal if she stepped to the left at all. Maybe it was going to come in handy?

As she finished her own actions, however, it seemed that Shio had had some other plans as well. As the girl seemingly vanished, Serenity quickly felt herself almost... revitalized. Like she'd been given a slight burst of energy, without having actually gained any energy to begin with. A feeling she knew quite well, given the amount of redbull lattes she tended to drink. She felt wired. And, as Shio spoke in her head, that feeling only continued to maintain itself.

"Forget this blonde Soul Society labrador, our students are escaping class, CHASE after them!"

As if on queue, Serenity practically exploded from her place in the classroom, flying out the door at a leisurely speed of 7,800. "HEY!" she shouted at the top of her lungs. "THE SHINIGAMI DOESN'T DISMISS YOU-" once again disappearing with a burst of wind from her location, Serenity appeared in front of a small crowd of running students. "I DO!" As she finished speaking, the girl threw a kick as hard as she could muster into the gut of the frontmost student, putting all of her strength behind it in an effort to send them backward, tumbling into the other Shinigami-in-training and stopping their exit.

As she perched herself back onto the ground, with a playful huff, Serenity continued to bounce around on her heels, her eyes having distinctly changed; her sclera were now pitch-black, completely darkened in contrast to her now blood-red irises. She was seeing the world in a new light; one that gave her the ability to more closely pinpoint details as she saw fit. "Whew!" she spoke aloud, though directed toward Shio, "glad we were able to stop 'em! I heard from Charlotte that if reinforcements don't show up in fifteen minutes, we're legally allowed to teach the class~!"

Technique Description and Effects: By focusing on the eyes, users of Aka no Kōkei are able to enhance their sensory capabilities by a small margin. This technique comes in two separate variants; one Spiritual, and one Physical, chosen upon learning the technique. Both function identically to one another, but come with different costs and drawbacks. When mastered, both variants of Aka no Kōkei are available for use interchangeably with one another as the user sees fit.

What Aka no Kōkei does is rather simple; it allows the user the ability to perceive the world around them in a different light; both literally and figuratively. While active, Aka no Kōkei tints the user's vision red as their eyes visibly change; the user's irises will turn a bright red, and sclera jet black. This change lasts for the full duration of this technique. During this technique's duration, provided the user has Skill Points currently unspent, they will be able to redeem a number of those points for temporary points in Battle Focus; up to one Rank for Classes 8-6, two Ranks for Classes 5-2, and three Ranks for Class 1. At any point, users of Aka no Kōkei can choose to activate in one or both eyes, and/or use this technique cinematically. With Mastery of this technique, users can opt into keeping their sclera white.

How to use technique: Either channel Reiatsu into the eyes for the Spiritual variant, or tense the muscles around the eyes for the Physical variant.

Technique Drawbacks: Given this technique puts such a strain on the user's vision, their Senses are treated as 10% lower than they normally are for the duration of this technique, when relying on sight. Attacks made against the eyes with this technique active are doubly as effective. The Spiritual variant of this technique costs 75 reiatsu per post to maintain, whereas the Physical variant will slowly eat away at the user's physical stamina, and requires 1 Rank in Bleeding Tolerance. When used cinematically, this technique has no cost nor drawbacks, but does not gain any of the benefits listed above and instead only changes the appearance of the user's eyes. Costs 75 TTP per stage to learn, and learning this technique teaches every Class.

It was a lovely day, especially after the string of bad luck the Soul Society had been having lately. Though not everything has been bad, thanks to the Hell Invasion Shawn was raised to the Vice Captain position. Actually, if it wasn't for Celes the Captain of squad 10 he wouldn't have even considered the spot. Which brings us to where he's heading right now, to Celes. He wanted to thank her once more for encouraging him, so he decided to seek her out and do so.



Thanks to some members of squad 10 Shawn found out she was heading to the Academy today, he would never have checked there so he was happy for the help. It's been quite some time since he last walked the halls of the Academy, in fact after graduating and becoming a full fledged Shinigami he hasn't returned. Thinking about it that was foolish, for all he knew his younger siblings could have enrolled. Kicking himself for his thoughtlessness he headed towards the Academy.



Arriving outside the building Shawn noticed some students practicing their sword work, this brought back memories of his first sensei after coming to the Soul Society. Not wanting to bug them he proceeds into the building itself, deciding he'll just ask people in there if they spotted Celes at all. Wandering the halls a bit, he felt something was off. The farther in he went the quiter was, which his memories told him shouldn't be the case.



Sure enough Shawn took another turn down another hallway before stopping in his tracks. The smell of blood assaulted his sensitive nose, it was fresh too. This wouldn't normally be a problem if he didn't also hear Celes speak to someone in a not so friendly way. That wasn't all, he could also hear multiple raised heartrates signaling that many people were afraid. That's when someone else spoke up, "Once again showing up to the call of those in need; introducing yourself, and acting all noble...". This was an odd way to answer Celes' question, not ending there they must have been using something to increase the volume of their voice for Shawn's ears hurt at their next words. "WELL YOUR HELP IS NOT NECCESSARY - NOBLE SAMURAI. GO BACK TO PICKING DAISIES IN SEIREITEI - WE HAVE A CLASS TO TEACH!".



Figuring something was amiss he gripped his Zanpakuto that was sitting on his upper back with his right hand speaking the words, "Reach Out, Kami no te." Though it was still sheathed his Zanpakuto grew in length but still remained a Jian sword. This sword also had 2 cm diameter holes going down the blade, each being 2 inches apart. The moment he released a block that seemed to hold back some of his power broke, letting that power flow free and unrestricted. His mind also cleared up, the distractions bothering him less as his brain seemed to process it all faster.



Grabbing onto the other blade located on his right hip Shawn walked up to the door, pushing it open with his right shoulder. "I'm pretty sure no special guests were scheduled to be hear today, let alone were they to harm a student." His voice was calm and collected, this Celes might have realized to be different as he was normally quiet when around unfamiliar faces or brash when he was leading a group. "Please, take your foot off the student."



While his opponent wasn't doing so because of Shawn's words, they did still take their foot off of the bleeding man. The problem is what happened next, the guy's body was flung at Celes along with what smelled like dirt and the Doll that was the cause of these things simply compressed inward before vanishing altogether. If that wasn't enough the Doll's partner decided to pick up a desk and chuck it towards the Shinigami.



Figuring the best course of action was to stop the dirt projectile, which was most likely aimed to disorientate the Captain. Stepping to the right Shawn pointed his left hand in between Celes and the attackers. Sending a surge of reiatsu through his hand creating a ball of yellow ball of fiery reiatsu, firing it outward causing it to consume the dirt but miss both Celes and the aggressors.



If it wasn't for Shawn's powerful senses he wouldn't have noticed the shift in the short girls eyes. Glancing to where she looked he understood her sights were set on the students trying to escape. "Who said you were free to continue? A "teacher" must know how to take responsibility as well", saying this while mentally speaking Repel. With his ayes on Serenity the girl would suddenly feel a tingly sensation going down her front. If she didn't react fast enough then she would find herself hurtling backwards and into a wall, thus preventing her from following the Students.

You fire them from the palm of your hand.]

{Kami no Te power}Overall Ability:







The Overall ability of the Zanpakuto is the user's reiatsu is condensed and released at high speeds giving it gravitational properties thus making it's theme "Gravity". This allows Shawn to pull and push a single target (An opponent or their weapon), allowing Shawn to be adaptable to most situations. This is a pretty strong ability, however, every good ability has it's limits. The gravitational property of this Zanpakuto only reaches out about 30 Meters, it also requires Shawn to both be in contact with his Zanpakuto and have visual contact with his target while saying attract or repel (respectively) and can be said mentally with a 1 in mental incantation. Regardless of it being in Shikai or Bankai, the target will only be pushed/pulled in a straight line from the Zanpakuto and will move at 400 speed and if pushed the target will move back 30 Feet (if only targeting a limb/weapon being held it will just be pushed/pulled 3 Feet). Pushing requires 200 Reiatsu while pulling only requires 150. This power works instantly on anyone within a distance of 10 feet. Those who are farther will feel a tingle giving them notice about what is going to happen, this gives them a moment to prepare for counter play or to simply try breaking line of sight.




Shikai Overall Ability:




While in Shikai, the Gravitational properties can only affect one side of a target as Kami no Te is not capable of condensing and releasing reiatsu at such a speed to affect the entire target. This would only allow for simply pushing or pulling a target in a straight movement forward or backwards from Kami no te. Kami no Te cannot target Shawn and can only target other entities/objects as it cannot fully control their gravity. While pulling, the target must come completely to Kami no Te and Shawn cannot stop it once started. While in Shikai his abilities would only work on those with less Spiritual Stat as an OS than Shawn and those with Strength as there OS may pay 200 reiatsu to resist.

Honor. Pride. Respect. These were a few things that could be considered values to Celes. Even in a time of crisis, times when she needed to mobilize every ability, she possessed to defend that which was near and dear to her, Celes still firmly believed in those values. It is why, even now as the Academy was being assaulted by these two ruffians, that Celes tried to keep the peace. Sure, she did not want to exacerbate another takeover by her Inner Hollow, but she felt that this Arrancar and the plushie at least deserved some respect. Unfortunately, it seemed that this would not be reciprocated by the pair. Especially not the Mod Soul who stood before Celes in an almost comical fashion. "Once again showing up to the call of those in need; introducing yourself, and acting all noble... WELL YOUR HELP IS NOT NECCESSARY - NOBLE SAMURAI. GO BACK TO PICKING DAISIES IN SEIREITEI - WE HAVE A CLASS TO TEACH!" Needless to say, it already left Celes with a poor taste in her mouth. 

Then there was the Arrancar. Her voice rose up quite meagerly and even her stance did not radiate with much confidence. "Y-yeah!" Her eyes narrowed for a moment, focusing on Shio specifically. The Mod Soul had already demonstrated herself to be a loudmouth. Celes' lips curled into an expression that was rather serious given the situation. "The gall of this one... pretending as if this is their class to teach." The Shinigami was far less annoyed with the shot at her and far more incensed with the Mod Soul's nerve. What they called teaching was nothing better than needless abuse. One student was already left on the floor, bleeding profusely. Her eyes scanned over him for a moment. It was clear that he'd need some form of medical attention by the Fourth Division. She needed to proceed carefully. 

Despite the predicament of the situation, Celes' presence helped to ease the otherwise frightened Academy students. It was just enough to push the students past their paralysis. Some slowly began to pool out of the room. The Captain had picked up on the subtle shifts of movement. She gave a calm sigh of relief as the students slowly, but surely tried to retreat to safety. As expected, however, the pair heralding from Las Noches were not so pleased with this new development. Once more, that boisterous voice roared to life. "DON'T THINK WE'RE DONE IN OUR CLASS JUST BECAUSE YOUR OTHER TEACHERS ARE TOO DAMN SOFT-!!!" Just like before, Serenity gave her own little comment to accompany Shio. "Y-yeah!!"

Now this is where things started to become a little more complicated. Finally, Shio would take her foot off of the student. This was not for the reasons that Celes initially thought though. The megaphone that she had just tossed not more than a few moments ago would morph as the unthinkable happened to accompany it. Almost as if a protégée of the former Captain of the Thirteenth, Ludwig Verrlicht, Shio would cause one of the boards to rise like a spring, flinging the bleeding student towards the Shinigami. Not only that, but the recently tossed megaphone began to shift, morphing its shape, before moving towards the Captain. At around the same time, Serenity would suddenly move to lift the desk which would also be tossed at Celes. Three projectiles now raced towards her, but truly only one of them mattered. Celes' pupils dilated as she immediately made her choice. 

As the desk and the makeshift weapon in the form of a breadstick made their way towards Celes, the Captain almost entirely fixated upon the student. Her body would explode into a burst of movement, taking advantage of the close quarters of her opponent to use Shukuchi-Ho, leaping forward into the air at a speed of 3000 only to leave a hazy, wisplike afterimage in her stead. Even as Shawn came to provide assistance, his presence and influence would go completely unnoticed by the Captain. Her aim was simple. She'd catch the student and immediately harden her body by flexing her muscles. In this state, her skin would become as hard as steel. While this would provide her with a resilience against physical battery, this was not the purpose. After catching the student, Celes wouldn't bring herself to stop. Instead, the green-haired Shinigami crashed into the wall with her might while protecting the student with her own body as if she were a shield. Splinters suddenly flew as the wall tore itself open as Celes rolled along the floor into the neighboring classroom for a moment. Jumping to her footing, Celes quickly continued her sprint out the door and into the hallway. 

Presumedly safe, Celes would gingerly set the student's maimed body down to lean against the wall. Blood which leaked from his body clung to her shihakusho and her haori. Even her hands were covered in it. Right now, she didn't care about that though. She knelt in front of his broken body and gave him a gentle smile. "Hey... don't worry. You'll be fine. J- Just stay awake and breath. Help will be on its way soon..." Celes was no medical expert. She didn't know the first thing about anatomy. However, the girl had enough battle experience to know a nasty wound when she saw one. She was about to turn her back to return to aid Shawn, but that's when she suddenly felt her arm get touched. She turned her head and stared at the student who had worked up enough willpower to grasp at her. His voice broke for a moment as he spoke. "P-please Captain. D... don't leave me to die here. I do- don't want to be a... alone." Celes frowned for a moment as she drew her Zanpakutō and began focusing her reiryoku. Gliding her hand along the blade, she spoke softly. "Walk among us, Yunorashi." Looking deep within her very soul, she looked to connect with her Zanpakutō Spirit with what seemed to be akin to a release chant. As the familiar sensation of a warm and innocent aura washed over her, Celes pointed her Zanpakutō next the student. 

The aura, radiant and spry, moved from Celes' body to the space she was pointing at. The energies would rapidly shift and configure themselves into a humanoid form. The space before her would soon be filled by a young girl. Not more than 5 ft in height, the white-haired, tan young girl opened her hazel eyes as the student watched in amazement. The young girl stared at Celes and then at the student who resided next to her. with big eyes. Under normal circumstances, Celes would be more than pleased to see her Zanpakutō Spirit, but she'd simply speak in a clear tone this time. "Yunorashi. I need you to stay with him. Keep him company and make sure he does not pass out!" The young girl frowned at Celes but gave her a gentle nod. "Okay. I'll do my best. You be careful, Celes." Sheathing her blade once more, the Captain nodded and moving at a speed of 1000 once more, she suddenly vanished from the students' eye, quickly ducking back through the door and finally the opening that she had made. Meanwhile Yunorashi would turn her head to stare at the student, preparing to give him the comfort he needed. In a way, she understood. Being so close to one's own mortality was a scary feeling. "So- It's a pleasure to meet you. My name is Yunorashi!"

Having hopefully returned to the room to join the fight, Celes stood at the opening to the crack in the wall left by her. Hopefully, the other students would have had a chance to escape. Celes wanted to avoid as many casualties as possible. After all, they had just leapt from the frying pain with the invasion by orchestrated by Orobas and Alastor. Celes would do her best to protect her comrades, starting with Shawn. Assuming that everyone was still in the room, Celes called out to the Vice Captain of the Thirteenth Division. "Hey. Took long enough for someone else to show up to this little skirmish." Diverting her gaze once more to Serenity if she was present, Celes saw no sign of the Mod Soul. More than that, she could only feel the spiritual energies of Shawn and Serenity. She gave a resigned sigh before addressing the younger girl. "Hey you. I'm really trying to find a way out of this that doesn't end up with one of us dead. If you retreat now, you've my word as a Captain that no harm will befall you and your companion." Much like Celes, Serenity was a vibrant soul. People like them could easily sense malice. If she reflected on Celes' words, she'd find that there was no treachery behind the Captain's word. She certainly did want to find a peaceful solution out of this. She wanted to avoid unnecessary bloodshed. After all, she did not want it to come to the point where her Inner Hollow felt that he could appropriately intervene. Such an event would prove disastrous for all parties involved... For now, she just hoped that she could appeal to reason. At least before they reached a point of no return.

{Shukuchi-Ho}Technique Name: Shukuchi-Ho (Reduced Earth Steps)

Technique Element: None.

Description: The user makes use of his innate speed to move flawlessly. From a standing stance, or from any resting position, the first step that the user does becomes an illusion, moving quickly than the eye can see. This technique gives the user a short burst of speed to move and invade an opponent's personal space, and engage in hand to hand combat, or to weave in and out of an opponent's attack. This move triples normal speed for each step, and uses no reiatsu.

How to use: The user simply channels reiatsu around his feet instead of gathering spirit particles as what Shunpo or Sonido does.

Drawback(s): Shukuchi-Ho requires its user to have at least a base SPEED of 400 points, and is versed in Hakuda (meaning the character must be very knowledgeable in the shinigami art of hand-to-hand fighting). Also, the technique can only be used if the opponent is within 10 meters of the user. If the opponent is too far, the technique cannot be used. A maximum of 2 steps per post can only be done using Shukuchi-Ho, nothing more, nothing less. Note that Shukuchi-Ho is by no means superior to Shunpo or Sonido.

Technique Description and Effects

The summoning of a spirit's image for communication meant to act as a simpler, more open version of the original Jinzen. The user points their Zanpakuto forward towards a surface before calling forth the being that resides within their blade, which is typically accomplished with a modification of the command that must be used to release them from their sealed form. Should the spirit accept the call, they will in turn project a non-corporeal version of themselves outside of the Inner World that can hear and speak to any who decide to engage a conversation with it. How this spirit achieves this projection is up to its own discretion. Once this conversation is finished, the user or the spirit can decide to disengage this projection, which will cause it to vanish.


Drawbacks & Weaknesses

Much akin to a ghost or a hologram, this projection cannot be damaged by most physical and spiritual means, as it does not actually possess a physical form. No matter how hard an opponent may attempt to disrupt or destroy the projection, they will never be capable of doing so through simple means. However, given this lack of physicality within the true world, the spirit is unable to do anything beyond simple acts of communication. In other words, it is virtually worthless in combat unless the user requires counseling or observation.

Moreover, due to its nature as a projecting technique, Hiraku Jinzen requires reiatsu in order to be appropriately executed. This is something that the base Jinzen technique itself does not require at all, which could make a few practitioners ignore the technique in favor of the original for its simplicity alone. This reiatsu must be provided to the projection at a constant basis in order for it to remain stable. If the user is unable to conduct this supplying appropriately, the projection will break and eventually vanish. Fortunately, mastery of this technique can permit the user to steadily decrease the amount of reiatsu required for the projection to remain intact. Despite this, negating this cost is impossible, even for those who are intrinsically connected to their Zanpakuto spirit.

Well, sometimes life just doesn't go the way you want it to; what can I say. When everything is appearing to go just a little too perfectly, it's only natural that some stray incident will happen. It will be beyond your control, and unfortunately, it could even be the kind of mistake that you won't be able to live down - or recover from. That was a little like how this poor fella' was, isn't it? I don't know his name, but that pineapple-crested head, am I right?

Whilst I don't make a habit out of crushing the poor lads dreams, hopeful as he is to go out one day; swinging his mighty toothpick around wildly, slaying only the mightest Gillians that the Menos Forest has to offer. As the saying goes, wrong place, wrong time. Kind of like how this Captain was about to find out, if she kept pressing her luck with us! Hah. Oh, yeah, and there was that one guy who showed up on scene a little earlier, whoever that was.

Speaking of that guy, he was a little reckless, wasn't he? Activating his weapon like that as these edo-egotists do, y'know, to mimic Arrancar I think? Believe he said something beforehand as well, I didn't quite catch it though before I ended up fused. Probably some more-noble-than-thou hodgepodge anyway, HEH. Lousy brat, as though I didn't sense he would be coming from the moment that he released in the corridor.

Is he alright in the head, though? Whatever dinky little projectile he fired at my distraction... exploded. Had that 'Noble Samurai' not have intervened, as I predicted, then our poor resident damsel and effluent pineapple head would be curbside roadkill right now; so to speak. I'm all for harsh teaching, but that would've killed him, y'know! I should probably let Serenity know about that, actually. "Hey, Serenity. I think that melon with the fancy sword tried to kill our student-".

After contemplating it a bit, Shio 'observed' her surroundings thoroughly. "-And it looks like the labrador is getting buddy with the injured, we have time, let's take them out swiftly and get back to teaching class!" - the echoing voice in Serenity's head resounded firm and confident, so energetic and ready-to-go that you could visualize a fistpump at the end of her words. Whilst only Serenity would be able to hear it, Shio was certain her energy would be reciprocated.

'Amalgamation Synthesis', it was a technique unique to only Shio. Neither Shawn or Celes would be able to recognize that the Mod Soul was still in the room with Serenity anymore. Her words were silent to all but Serenity, and her reiatsu signature was essentially all but non-existant to them. Given that was the case, Shio fully intended to support the one that she were bonded with to the best of her ability; so that they could get back to class ASAP.

However, whilst merged with Serenity like this and resting in her pill-form, within the cavity of her absent Chain of Fate, was quite dull. If it weren't for the fact that Serenity were BUZZED as it were, then Shio could even say, things got boring very fast! There was no smack-talk, and despite her Kigen still being active, she even lacked the ability to 'feel' through it. Although, in her place, Serenity would be able to utilize it easily.

Yeah, thanks to the energy of this kid, I do really feel a certain kind of excitement; there's a nervousness there too... eugh, I'd better surpress that for both our sakes.

When using Amalgamation Synthesis, Shio and Serenity were practically the same person. Therefore, if the changes were subtle enough, Shio could supercede a part of the emotions of their shared self with her own. It wasn't anything spectacular, but needless to say; if Serenity was feeling that caffine rush right now, she'd be in for a world of hyper when simultaneously fueled by the colossal ego that was Shio. It'd give her some confidence, that's for sure.

Shio wasn't able to utilize any of her five senses in this form, and neither was she able to move or influence the battle in a direct way. That was okay, however. As it were, her 'Energy Sensory' ability enabled her to see what was around the body of her hosting individual and much further, in this case Serenity, in a very unusual way. In a spiritual realm, everything was made out of reishi; people, were made out of reiatsu.

It was like playing from a chessboard; an objective view. As though playing a 3D video game without any of the models having textures to them; if instead, every model in the game were blank with a shade of hazy azure, a mist-like signature rising from each and every one of them. Given that were the case, it was actually easier for Shio to disseminate certain aspects of the battlefield; it were practically as though she were seperated from it.

The Mod Soul could sense everything; the students who had fled, potential reinforcements that could arrive, Shawn's every movement to a fine degree based on his reiatsu signature. Shio had none of her five senses available to her, so making use of her 'Energy Sensory' had created a mental-picture landscape where she could divine events going on around her, purely based on the presence of energy alone; everyone had reiatsu, and everything was reishi.

It wouldn't be a moment after Shawn had launched his Concussive Blast, that a blast of spiritual energy would erupt from Serenity just before she might move to make her first Sonido. It was Shio sharing her energy with Serenity, but neither Shawn and Celes had no way of knowing that. The Mod Soul intended to keep that level of incognito for now - a potential unseen threat that would keep the attention of Celes split.

For now, the Shio bonded with Serenity kept a vigilant watch over how things would pan out for now. If it turned out that Serenity needed the help; she was available. Although, aside from the bare minimum, Shio thusfar was unimpressed with these Shinigami goons.

Sometimes, life just doesn't go the way you'd want it to. A fact that the girls were quickly going to be with, as a new challenger seemed to walk into the room. As their actions had been taken, and preparation for their own actions were about to begin, it seemed that this individual was also taking the time to cut off Shio's own dirt abilities. As Shawn fired out a blast of explosive force, Serenity prepped herself for what was to come as the desk also released from her hand. She'd made note of his voice and words; "Who said you were free to continue? A "teacher" must know how to take responsibility as well."

After the desk flew from her hands, the girl quickly began to feel a rather... tingly sensation across her entire body. While Shio had merged with her during that point, and Celes had practically flown through a wall, it seemed that shit was very quickly hitting the fan for everyone involved. Though, just how much shit was going to be launched? Time would only tell, as it seemed that Serenity was the only individual that wasn't prepared to release. Well, it was certainly time to change that. Unlike her older sister, Serenity held no reserves around using her Resurrección; especially if that meant that she could get back at those that harmed her students!

"Blitz, Pararrayos!"

As her words finished, and Serenity's own daggers had been thrown into the ground at her own speed, the girl exploded in a flash of blinding golden light, and a rather noteworthy burst of wind; not nearly enough to topple anything over, but the trademark effects from an Arrancar's release. As her own spiritual prowess threatened to consume the area, releasing the true capabilities of the Primera Espada, Serenity made herself quite known to those in the area; she was flexing her reiatsu at both of the Shinigami in the area.

As she released, the tingling feeling the coated her from Shawn's own abilities quickly fizzled out; she'd felt nothing anymore, and wanted to very much keep it that way. Though, one thing rang true in the girl's mind as Shio began to mentally communicate with her; "Hey, Serenity. I think that melon with the fancy sword tried to kill our student, and it looks like the labrador is getting buddy with the injured, we have time, let's take them out swiftly and get back to teaching class!"

Oh, that wouldn't do. That wouldn't do at all. Before the smoke had fully cleared, Serenity had fully prepared to use her own abilities to the fullest. Exploding from her position at an astounding 15,600 Speed toward Shawn, Serenity held her taloned hand out in front of her while simultaneously condensing her reiatsu. Due to her level of mastery over the ability, the Cero in her hand had virtually no charge time; something she was going to unleash upon her foe the moment she'd cleared the distance between them.

Pressing her talons into the man's chest, and unleashing the technique into his center mass, Serenity's cero threatened to explode through the Shinigami if he hadn't a way to move. Though, this wasn't a standard Cero; said Cero had been of the blinding white variety; Deslumbrante. As it shredded through the walls of Shin'ō Academy, easily blinding anyone that looked in its direction. Wasting no time, and coating her body with excess reiatsu via Tsukarenai to keep her physical strain to a minimum, Serenity prepared to fight at her full speed during the engage.

Moving at 1,200 Speed around the Shinigami and remaining behind him while he likely recovered from the blow, Serenity threw her wings forward, firing ten feathers into the back of Shawn if he still hadn't had the opportunity to move. Even if she had, she'd still take the opportunity to fire her feathers, coating the entire back wall of the classroom in ten of these bladed feathers. Once again, though, the girl had decided to follow through with her own actions and travel down the hallway, as she made distinct awareness of another event occurring at the same time; Celes had released her Zanpakutō. Charging up another Cero, Serenity held her hand out in front of her, fully prepared to unleash another blinding laser should any of the Shinigami come out and approach her.

Letting an almost egotistical laugh ring out from the Arrancar girl, Serenity began to speak. "You dare face the might of the mighty Espada~?! I'll have you know that we had full right to teach here! Wasn't like those others were doing anything productive for those students, anyway... Regardless! Place those swords of yours out in the hallway over here 'else the classroom gets it!" While certainly trying to sound threatening -- mostly due to her friend's influence -- the girl likely still didn't come off as anything too intimidating. The only real distinct difference from her a few moments ago were the wings, claws, and talons. She still had her childlike demeanor, but was much more prepared to start blasting if she needed to. The fight had begun.

{Overall Ability}
Pararrayos takes inspiration from that of a Thunderbird when released; As described in her Resurrection Appearances, Charlotte's Primera Etapa allows her to embody the wrath of a Thunderbird. As such, her Overall Ability allows her to gain some very basic traits while she's released. When completely unfurled, Charlotte's wings allow for flight at her own speed in any of the Worlds. As mentioned previously, her hands and feet are now armed with noteworthy talons and claws, allowing the girl to strike with both utilizing her Reiatsu Strength for cutting power.

Should she desire, Charlotte is able to utilize her feathers to attack her foes. Upon releasing, Charlotte is given a total of 100 Piercing Feathers for her to attack with. Firing off Piercing Feathers costs 10 reiatsu per feather, each feather flies at her Speed, and has a cutting power equal to her Reiatsu Strength. By spending an amount of reiatsu equal to the cost of firing out Piercing Feathers, Charlotte is able to force a feather to return to her body, once again flying at a Speed equal to her own, and armed with a cutting power equal to her Reiatsu Strength. Manually retrieving a feather rewards Charlotte with 10 reiatsu per feather. Piercing Feathers have a durability equal to double her Reiatsu Strength, and if destroyed they are lost for for the remainder of a thread (or after a rest in longer-style threads), or until Charlotte enters Segunda Etapa, in which case all 100 are returned in their entirety regardless of previous destruction and she's given an additional 100 feathers alongside her new set of wings. Piercing Feathers serve as one of two resources that Charlotte's release makes use of, with the other mentioned below. Instead of costing reiatsu, Charlotte's release techniques may cost one, or both of these resources depending on each technique.

{Primera Etapa Overall Ability}
While her Overall Ability plays more on the "bird" concept of a Thunderbird, Charlotte's Primera Overall instead embodies a "thunder" aspect. Simply put, while released, Charlotte is given a level of mastery over electricity as a whole. As mentioned above, Charlotte is given another alternate resource to keep track of; Electrical Charge. Charlotte is able to build Electrical Charge by spending reiatsu; either passively, or by actively dedicating her own reiatsu to do so. Every 1 point of reiatsu she would spend grants 1 Electrical Charge. If reiatsu spent would be forced to bypass her infinite pool from Resurrection, whether as a technique Drawback or from her Piercing Feathers, she'll instead gain 2 Electrical Charge for every 1 point spent.

Alternatively, Charlotte can spend a few short moments to purge her reiatsu in order to build Electrical Charge. For every 1 point of reiatsu spent this way, she'll gain 2 Electrical Charge. While charging in this way, though, Charlotte is left vulnerable. If damaged while in the process of charging, she'll lose the reiatsu spent and will not gain any Electrical Charge. There is no limit to the amount of Electrical Charge Charlotte can hold at any given time.

When firing off Piercing Feathers, Charlotte can opt into spending at least 10 Electrical Charge per Feather in order to charge said feather. Charged feathers are imbued with Electricity, and maintain all of the properties of electricity, but do not lose their charge until coming in contact with organic matter, in which case they'll lose all of their stored Charge, and electrocute those struck with a force equal to the stored Electrical Charge. If Charlotte goes to manually pick up these Charged Piercing Feathers, they will explode with an electrical current, electrocuting everything within a five-foot radius around the feather, and Charlotte will not regain the Electrical Charge, though she herself will be immune to the damage this causes. If withdrawn by spending reiatsu, Charlotte will gain 75% of the Electrical Charge stored within each of her Charged Piercing Feathers that return to her.

{Prime Fragmentation}
Technique Name: Prime Fragmentation

Technique Class: 1 - 300 TTP for Learned & Proficient, 400 TTP for Mastered.

Technique Type: General Spiritual.

Usable By: Shinigami, Vizard, Fullbringers, or Arrancar of the Fractured Type.

Technique Element: N/A.

Technique Cost: Paid for alongside the cost to Release.

Description: Serving as the pinnacle of a Fractured's capabilities, Prime Fragmentation plays off of the concept of 'separate, but whole'. It's through this technique that a Fractured and their Fragment are able to actually release their abilities separate from one another. Depending on how far along this technique is in its stages of Mastery, the actual effects of this are going to vary rather notably. This technique, however, allows a Fracture to allow for one or both of the individuals to release either separate of one another, or together.

Learned: When Learned, Prime Fragmentation functions at a very minimal level, that ends up being ludicrously taxing for both parties involved. After paying double the normal reiatsu cost for release, a Fractured or Fragment are able to release separately from one another, and instead do not join together. Their reiatsu pools remain separate from one another, their release duration is halved, and they lose any extra benefits from being in Release (indefinite reiatsu from Resurrección, etc.). If both individuals release alongside one another, any per-post clauses are shared by both; if a Release technique is once-per-post, either one or the other are able to use the technique. With this technique, the Fractured's Stats (not the Fragment's) are halved if the Fragment decides to release, aside from their Reiatsu Pool which remains the same.

Proficient: When Proficient, Prime Fragmentation operates at what's considered to be its "base" level. It's a bit more taxing than a standard release, but isn't anything nearly as bad as the Learned variant. The cost to release is instead increased by 50% instead of a doubling cost, though reiatsu pools still remain separate. Both entities are still separate from one another while using this technique, as is the purpose. Release duration is reduced by 25%, and extra benefits are still lost. If both are released, any per-post clauses are shared by both, as described above. When the Fragment releases, the Fractured's stats are reduced by 25% instead of half. In turn, the Fragment's stats are increased by 50%, bringing them to about the same point as their Fractured in terms of general capability.

Mastered: When Mastered, Prime Fragmentation reaches its highest capabilities. At this stage, its as taxing as a standard release would normally be, without any increase there. Release costs, release duration, and extra benefits remain as they would normally, as though this technique was not being used. If they so desire, and both individuals are released, they can pool their reiatsu together instead of keeping their pools separate, but both must remain within 100 feet of one another for this to remain in effect. Both track per-post and per-thread cooldowns separately from one another. While this technique is active, the Fragment's stats are doubled so long as they're released, putting them on par with their Fractured, and the Fractured's stats are no longer cut.

How to Use: Simply Release.

Drawbacks: For a Class 1 technique, this technique costs notably more TTP than normal, reaching a final cost of 1,000 TTP for Mastery. Taking this technique requires Class 1 and cannot be done sooner, and learning this technique must always start from the Learned stage. For Vizards, neither are able to use their Mask. Shinigami and Vizard are unable to use the Soul Release techniques while this technique is active. Once this technique is active, both Fractured and Fragment are left unable to refresh their release, much like a Soul Specialist, Version 1. No matter the stage of Mastery, if both Fractured and Fragment are released at the same time, their release duration is halved, as power is split between the two.

{Tsukarenai}
Technique Name: Tsukarenai (Tirelessly)

Technique Description and Effects: Tsukarenai is a technique that ties ones stamina into their Reiatsu reserves. By flowing Reiatsu over their entire body and creating a thick flexible coat of Reiatsu. Upon doing so, the user can continue to fight without putting a strain on themselves in combat. Depending solely on using their Reiatsu for any form of high speed movement. Any movement that drains stamina will instead tap into their Reiatsu reserves. Starting at 400, the user will be spending 50 Reiatsu per post, increasing by an additional 50 for every 100 in speed. Mastery makes it so the user is only spending 50% of the cost per additional 100 in speed. Step techniques that increase speed beyond 3x cost 25% more Reiatsu when used alongside this technique. Yet they don’t require the constant payment for the speed they give.

How to use technique: Coat body in Reiatsu and use it to move.

Technique Drawbacks: There aren’t many weaknesses for using Tsukarenai but moving at high speeds though not draining stamina can still cause muscle damage and using step techniques can quickly burn the user of their Reiatsu reserves. Types that have stamina drawbacks can't learn this technique at all.

{Cero Deslumbrante}
Technique Name: Cero Deslumbrante (Blinding White Cero)

Technique Description and Effects:

This technique is usable only by Arrancar in their released form. It has the same speed, firing power, explosive potential, and charge time as a Cero Oscuras. The techniques are nearly identical, but this one is considered superior because it first blinds the opponent with a bright flash, and then as it approaches it strips away all darkness from their surroundings, instantly illuminating everything on its way.

How to use technique: Fire like a regular Cero.

Technique Drawbacks: 400 reiatsu cost.

Something wasn't right, Shawn could tell his power wasn't working on this girl and that could only mean she was spiritually more powerful. Realizing his predicament the only way to ensure his safety and the others was to meet up with Celes. The problem with that is he could hear her, but she wasn't in a place he could easily and quickly reach. So begins his racing thoughts to think of how to keep himself and the others safe until he can rendezvous with the captain of squad 10.



First things first, in case he was facing an opponent with good energy sensing capabilities Shawn immediately flexed his reiatsu. Doing so would cause it to burst outward harmlessly unless you were using energy sensing that is. To those with that much energy sensing ability they would be blinded as his reiatsu exploded like a flash bang. With that exhausting action done he would also send reiatsu down to his left palm. With his left palm facing downward he would create six Concussive Blasts, these would rush down at 600 speed before exploding around him sending up tons of dust and debris.



Sheathing his Zanpakuto Shawn would flick his fingers downward while using Shunpo to go backwards out the door at 800 speed. At least, that's what he was hoping to do. Things do not always go as planned though, for within moments Serenity was already in front of him. The dust in the air didn't seem to faze her much and by how fast she reacted the reiatsu flash he performed had no affect on her. That's when he felt it, the Arrancar's hand came up to his chest and easily blew a large portion of his right chest and abdomen away. Thankfully he was to busy staring her straight in the eye to be blinded from the bright Cero she used.

This was bad, Shawn knew the only reason he was up and alive was thanks to adrenaline. If he stops there's no telling if he will ever get back up, which scared him. He wanted to find his siblings, he wanted to be strong enough to protect them now as he couldn't then. With every last ounce of strength left in his bones the Shinigami Shunpos out of there, thankfully the block that was holding his physical strength and speed back seemed to vanish.

Shawn wasn't sure if the enemy was following him, he was to out of it to focus on that. He was sorry to leave Celes, but there was no way he would survive without immediate help. Flowing as much reiatsu as he could manage into his left hand (as his right arm was blown of from that attack) he casts Danku on his right side, making it into a makeshift bandage to stop as much blood flow as he can. This of course barely helps, plus he's only proficient in that Bakkudo, therefor he's forced to repeatedly cast it while he's still conscious.

Finally the heavily damaged Shinigami makes it outside, it's at this point his legs give up. Collapsing to the ground Shawn barely remains awake, thankfully his appearance causes a stir. He can't tell who but someone is holding his head up. It seems he landed on his back when his legs gave in. His eye's are growing darker and his vision and hearing are all but gone. He feels a calming warmth on his wound, maybe someone is healing it? Someone scoops him up in their arms before moving at a very fast speed, the wind blowing over his body. *I'm tired, Brutus is going to hold this over my head for the rest of my Shinigami life.* Just as he was drifting to sleep another voice appeared in his mind, *It's not yet time for you to return to the Soul Cycle master. When you wake up you must look back on this incident and understand you can't take everything on by yourself."

With Kami no Te finished speaking, Shawn would drift away to sleep. Thankfully for him, he landed in front of a group of passing students and teachers. It seems the teacher had enough knowledge to prolong his life until they could reach squad 4. Once there Shawn would remain unconscious for a week while his body was healed. Sadly this also means he has a big bill to pay when he wakes up, but that wouldn't bother him, after all he will wake up again.

[Celes Shindazu]

The situation seemed to quickly escalate which left Celes on edge. First this unseemly invading force, consisting of a young girl and a Mod Soul of all things, struck at a student. Now they had gone as far as to attack Celes despite her best intentions. If there was one thing that the Captain truly despised it was unnecessary bloodshed. The Mod Soul had demonstrated a hot-headed temperament. The younger girl, while seemingly timid by comparison, really seemed roped along for the ride. Despite her own personal feelings, it seemed that the situation would require force on her part. It was not a thought she relished, but it was her duty to protect the students of the Academy. 

As she rose, having just allowed Yunorashi to emerge from her soul, Celes sensed something. For one, she could really feel Shawn's reiryoku. A smile touched her lips as she realized that she was not alone in this. She knew Shawn to be capable, hence why she had recommended him for Vice Captaincy along with given him the push he needed. Aside from Shawn though, Celes felt another surge of power suddenly awaken. It was entirely foreign to her, but she knew one thing. It was overwhelming. To compound this feeling of dread, Celes took note of Serenity's voice. "Blitz, Pararrayos!" Just like that the Captain's blood froze. It all began to piece itself together. This was an Arrancar Resurrección. Without a second thought, Celes rushed back to the opening she had made to rescue the student.

Looking through the opening, she saw Shawn and Serenity, with the latter looking quite different. A majestic array of feathers decorated her arms. Her hands and feet had become razor-sharp talons. A thick, chitinous layer had spread all over her body. The avian traits adopted by the younger girl made her look like a harpy. In fact, if she weren't currently in the midst of attacking Soul Society then her new appearance would seem radiant. Speaking of Serenity, the girl would seemingly disappear from her sight. Exploding forward with a Sonido, Serenity seemed to close the distance between herself and Shawn in no time. As the girl focused her spiritual energy into a single point, her hand resting against Shawn's chest. Celes' eyes widened as she drew her Zanpakutō without a second thought.

As she began to move, preparing herself to use a Shunpo, it had already been too late. The Captain yelled at the top of her lungs, "SHAWNNN!!!" The orb of reiatsu quickly roared to life and mercilessly tore through the body of the Vice Captain. Exploding into a massive beam of white light, Celes came to a standstill as her vision suddenly blotched with spots of white forcing her to close her eyes. She groaned in some pain, stepping back for a moment. The Cero, meanwhile, shot past Shawn and tore through the walls of the Academy. Little would be left in its wake of destruction as parts of Shin'ō Academy were utterly consumed in the blinding white light. After a few moments Celes opened her eyes only to gaze in horror.

Her eyes rested upon the Vice Captain whose body had been brutalized by the Espada. Her body twitched ever so slightly as she was nearly brought to her knees. Her hand came crashing down against the floor, cracking it violently. Tears began to stream from her eyes as she muttered to herself. "N-no.. No. This can't be..." She howled in agony, the pain almost palpable in her voice. "DAMN IT!!!" Her grief blinded her, simply believing Shawn to have been killed by the Cero. It was utterly heartbreaking for the Captain. As she was busy clawing her fingers against the floor, a presence made itself known. A vile spiritual energy awoke within her, at the moment only able to be felt by Celes. "Get up onto your feet girl!" Celes froze as she heard the voice loud and clear. "I told you that your naïveté would get someone killed! Watch. I'll show you how it's done. I'll send her straight to hell!" 

Celes' vision began to grow cloudy. An inky blackness, not unlike Serenity's own, began to creep up the girl's sclera. Inching its way forward, her iris became a vibrant gold. As fragments of white slowly came into existence, they'd gravitate towards the Shinigami attempting to cling to her face. These were all the hallmark signs of an Inner Hollow takeover. As the fragments of white, steadily growing in number, tried to form it seemed that Celes was steadily progressing towards that full possession. It was then that the unexpected happened. Celes' hand swiftly rose to her face, violently prying off and crushing the bone-like fragments of spiritual energy. The voice suddenly roared at her. "Just what the hell are you doing Celes?!" 

Left no other choice, the girl fought back against Inner Hollow's attempt to possess her body in a show of incredible willpower. Ripping off the fragments, the black of her sclera began to recede. Celes simply grit her teeth as she growled, "I won't let you take over my body! Not now! Not when you could cause untold destruction in Soul Society!" Celes remembered well what Kaen had revealed to her during their initial meeting. How Zeich's Inner Hollow had taken over and practically leveled an entire district within the Rukongai. She wasn't going to let the same thing happen if she could avoid it! A snide and clearly arrogant chuckle rose from the Hollow. "You don't have what it takes to resist me!" One more growl emerged from the Captain. "Yeah?! Watch me!" She'd tear the last of the fragments that clung to her face off. Through sheer force of will, Yukito would lose his grip on Celes. The only sign of his attempts of possession remaining would be Celes' left eye which still retained some of the blackened sclera and golden iris.

In the meantime, Yunorashi continued talking to the student who was seemingly slowly losing consciousness from his injury. She did her best to make sure that he stayed awake. "Hey! Don't you dare fall asleep! You gotta stay awake!" Yunorashi moved forward, attempting to grip the student's face, but she'd simply drift right through his body like a ghost. She pouted rather notably. "Damn this technique! Why couldn't we be granted physical bodies. It's cr-" The seemingly young Zanpakutō Spirit stopped herself as she sensed the release of energies in the neighboring room. She was, after all, always connected to the Shinigami in some way. She muttered to herself just above a whisper. "What the hell is going in there... Celes. Why havn't you at least released your Shikai yet?" There was a genuine hint of concern in the young Spirits voice. 

She, of course, knew that Yukito could wiggle through the cracks if she fully released her Zanpakutō. She understood that Celes wanted to avoid any unnecessary influence from the Inner Hollow, but this was simply being foolish. She felt the influence of the Hollow creep over the Shinigami. It was chilling and she began to grow worried. The young Spirit looked at the body of the student she was told to safeguard. His eyes were fluttering as he was clearly battling against the allure of fatigue. Yunorashi sighed and muttered to herself. "Grrr... there isn't anything I can do here. I'm sorry Celes..." Sitting down, Yunorashi took a short breath and closed her eyes. Her form began to peel away into pieces of spiritual energy. She felt a little guilty, but her duty was to Celes first and foremost. She had to see what was going on with her wielder. After a few moments, her form dissipated into nothing as she ended the Hiraku Jinzen.

Having fought back and recovered from the attempting possession of her Inner Hollow, Celes eyes were fueled with a fire. She wasn't sure whether Shawn could have survived the Cero, but it didn't matter. These two invaders had shown their malintent. She'd do what she could to repel them as she would any other threat. Whether they deserved to be executed right here and there was something for Celes to decide later down the line. She didn't want to give the Inner Hollow any more fuel to combat her will to resist him. Nevertheless, now was the time for action. To begin, Celes quickly blitzed the wall to the right of the door which led to the hallway.

Just before colliding with the wall, however, a change within her would occur. Celes began to mask her reiatsu. Thanks to not having activated Shikai, she could keep her spiritual energy suppressed which would make her a hell of a lot more difficult to track. Suddenly the Shinigami crashed through the wall, a sudden cloud of dust and debris arising from it, covering her like a smokescreen. From there, she'd utilize another step to clear from the smoke at a speed of 10000. The obfuscated vision and loud crash produced by her crash, her masked reiatsu, and her speed while lower than Serenity all compounded together would make her a tricky target to predict, especially now with her Shunpo. This would all culminate into her goal to appear by Serenity's backside. Her hand gripping the hilt of her sheathed Zanpakutō, Celes hand shot outward. While using the principles of an Iaijutsu slash, this was quite different. Unlike a cut, Celes would be looking to simply crash the hilt of her Zanpakutō into Serenity's backside at a speed of 2000. Despite its lack of a blade, this attack if connected, would be using some considerable physical strength and likely knock Serenity a good bit away. Even if it didn't connect, the sudden thrust shot a shockwave of air forward not unlike an air cannon. She may not have been aiming for a lethal blow, but it would be clear that Celes wouldn't let them get away with anything less than a good few bruises!

Technique Description and Effects:

A movement technique that allows the user to move faster than the eye can follow. The focal point that determines the basis of this technique is speed. As speed is the main point of the technique, the method is best characterized by how fast one can get from Point A to Point B in the least amount of steps. Training and skill are what determines how fast a user of Shunpo can move. Those of little skill in the technique or those who haven't used it for an extended amount of time would obviously be out of practice, causing those individuals to be considerably slower. This requires the use of more steps to move the same distance and become tired more easily in a shorter amount of time. A single step magnifies speed for that step by ten times. Shunpo uses fifty Reiatsu per step. This one is automatically learned in the academy. All Shinigami know this when created. This technique does not take up a technique slot.

How to use technique:

Focus of Reishi around the feet area and launch off into a single blurring step. It is not unlike teleportation in appearance, but it is simply extremely fast movement. It is often used to gain an edge in a single moment of combat or to dodge incoming attacks.

Technique Description and Effects (Explain appearance, powers, and effect): The user of this technique draws their sword and strikes with one fluid, lightning-fast motion. This technique can easily catch an unprepared opponent off-guard. This attack is made at 2x the user's Speed, or at a speed of 600 (whichever is faster). Due to the sudden nature of this attack, characters with less than 200 Instinct are caught completely flat-footed and unable to react to this attack, unless they meet one of the alternative requirements (see drawbacks below).

Except where noted, this is otherwise an ordinary melee strike and has no reiatsu cost. Proficiency with this technique allows the user to immediately sheathe their weapon after making their attack.

Mastery of this technique allows for it to be combined with Shunpo to draw, strike, and sheathe the weapon in the blink of an eye. This variant costs 50 reiatsu to perform, and gains the benefits of a 3x Speed Boost (instead of the usual 2x). This variant is imperceptible to characters with less than 200 Senses. Characters with 200+ Senses detect a blur of movement from the user but may not be able to react to the attack unless they have 200+ Instinct and/or one of the benefits listed in drawbacks below.

How to use technique (How is it activated?): Simply draw your weapon and strike in a single fluid motion.

Technique Drawbacks (Limitations, repercussions for use, etc) This technique rarely works more than once per thread, as any opponent who witnesses this technique being used can react to it normally (regardless of Instinct). Even against aware opponents, this attack retains its speed however and should not be underestimated.

In addition, characters who know this technique or have Battle Analysis of 2 (or above) can easily identify the ready stances used in this technique and predict the user's intent. Such characters are never caught off-guard by this attack but will still need to react to its incredible speed.

This technique can only be used with a sheathed sword. In order to use this technique more than once during a single thread, the user must sheathe their weapon prior to using this technique again. This technique requires 2 SKP in Weapons (Sword) in order to be used, and 3 SKP to be mastered.

Tsuyoshi and his subordinate, Yorinobu Masao - a seated officer in Sanbantai, walked side by side on their way out to the Shin’o Academy. Despite Sanbantai swelling with members since Tsuyoshi had taken the captaincy, the recent Hellion invasion had absolutely decimated the lower ranking members of the squad, and had led to the deaths of several key lower officers in charge of recruitment. Tsuyoshi, while initially relieved at striking one more responsibility off of his list, had grown fond of traveling to the Academy to properly scout out and screen for new members personally. There was something special to be said for meeting and introducing recruits personally, and there was something equally special about helping to instill the values of Sanbantai into them from day one.

“Captain Minamoto?” Yorinobu asked as the two walked side-by-side.
“Ehh?” Tsuyoshi responded with his characteristic half-grunt.

The two were a fairly comparable pair, though Tsuyoshi walked with a significantly more confident and deliberate gait. While Yorinobu wore his classic shihakusho with his Zanpakuto at his side, Tsuyoshi wore a modified version of his own shihakusho. The one he currently wore sported sleeves - something uncharacteristic for the young Captain, but was otherwise unremarkable. His Zanpakuto rested horizontally against his back, sitting harmlessly in its scabbard and looking to be in no better condition than normal - it was clear that it didn’t see combat use. On his left hip he wore an uchigatana - one unlike his old one. It was clearly of new and impressive make and was wrapped in different colors than his old one. This new uchigatana was wrapped in black and red silk and was nearly half a foot longer than the old one. The last two accessories to Tsuyoshi’s ensemble included the steel chain with emerald gemstone around his neck and his haori, which was wrapped around his hip and draped off to his left side, acting much like a cloth hip accessory.

“Do you think there will be anyone to recruit into Sanbantai today? Are there usually promising academy students? This is my first time and-”
“Yaare yare,” Tsuyoshi cut Yorinobu off mid-sentence, walking and talking at the same time with his eyes straight ahead and his left hand resting aloof on top of his uchigatana’s hilt, “there are always promising recruits to be found Yorinobu. We don’t discriminate in Sanbantai, eh? Any Shinigami who can stand up against a hollow, side-by-side with their comrades, is worthy of Sanbantai. Don’t forget that. … You’ll pick it up quick, eh? If nothing else, you can ask Tala or Rei about what we’re looking for.”

Yorinobu went to ask a follow-up question, but closed his mouth as Tsuyoshi answered the question before he could ask it. The junior Shinigami ran a hand through his hair and paused to scratch the back of his head. “Alright. I won’t let you down, Captain.” He responded with an air of determination.

Tsuyoshi didn’t break his stride, but he did look sidelong to Yorinobu, grinning widely. ”Don’t worry, you won’t, eh?” He turned his head forwards and let a brief silence linger in the air before continuing. “The only way to do that is to leave a squadmate for dead. And if you do that, I’ll kill you myself.” Yorinobu froze mid-step, shuddering and quaking briefly. Tsuyoshi managed a few more paces forwards before pausing and half-turning to Yorinobu’s direction, quirking an eyebrow. “... Are you coming? Keep up, Yorinobu.” He turned back forwards and began again, with Yorinobu quickly jogging back into place at his side.

The two of them made their way in silence - through the boundaries of the Gotei 13 and towards the gates of Seireitei proper. The two of them approached the Gate leading out of Seireitei and into the Rukongai proper, exchanging no words as they passed through. It wasn’t for another minute or two that Yorinobu began to speak again. “Uhm, Captain?”

“Eh?”
“I just wanted to thank you for considering me for this position. I know that I’m fairly new in the squad, but I’m glad to know that I meet your standards as a Seated Officer.” Yorinobu was referring to his very recent promotion to Twentieth Seat in the squad. He was a relatively new shinigami, but he had proven himself during the invasion and his willingness to help secure the retreat of wounded Shinigami before being forced from the battlefield during the final engagement with Syn had given Tsuyoshi enough reason to consider him for the position.

“Meet my standards, eh? You have no idea what my standards are.”
“W-Well I’m sure that my promotion means - “
“Your promotion means that I think you’ll meet my expectations one day.” Tsuyoshi spoke very definitively, not bothering to look in Yorinobu’s direction. “You’re in the position that you’re in so that the squad has some lower leadership to help the new recruits while we fill spots in. If you want to keep it, I expect you to strive to be better. Don’t get complacent just because I gave you a promotion.” His tone wasn’t necessarily condescending or dismissive - it was more matter-of-fact. Yorinobu went to speak in response and quickly closed his mouth, thinking better of it. Their silence persisted for another minute or two while they walked.

“Captain Minamoto?” Yorinobu broke the silence once again with a question.
“Ehh?”

“Do you think that-,” Yorinobu started and was abruptly, harshly cut off. This time, however, it wasn’t by Tsuyoshi. This time, he was cut off by a grossly overpowering fluctuation of spiritual energy several hundred yards ahead of them, in the direction of the academy. Yorinobu froze, his heart beating rapidly. His body fought to recover itself in the face of the overwhelming spiritual signature that neither one of them knew was Serenity, releasing her Ressureccion. While Yorinobu recognized the reiatsu as distinctly Hollow, Tsuyoshi knew better. That was Arrancar reiatsu.

“C-Captain? What d-”
“Follow me. Be prepared to fight and, if necessary, to run. Only your superiors are allowed to order you to leave them for dead. Remember that, eh?” Tsuyoshi took off at a brisk pace, sprinting forwards. Yorinobu hardly had time to even respond to Tsuyoshi’s directions, taking off in a sprint behind his Captain. The only thing allowing him to even marginally keep up was the occasional use of shunpo, and the fact that there was a limit to Tsuyoshi’s current speed. The pair continued when, all of a sudden, another wave of reiatsu echoed out from the academy. Now that they were in view of the academy itself, it was easier to see what the source of that reiatsu was.

A glowing, bright white Cero encapsulated a section of the academy and shot out into the air, taking pieces of the structure with it. The resulting wave of reiatsu made Tsuyoshi pause, holding Yorinobu with him. Tsuyoshi’s eyes trailed over the academy, pausing on the location of not one, but four impressive spiritual signatures, belonging to what could only be a Captain, as well as another shinigami, and two unknown entities. He recognized one of them as being an Arrancar, but the other he was unsure of. He knew he had felt that kind of signature somewhere before, but he couldn’t recall where. The two of them took off again, running past screaming academy students and the teachers responsible for helping them out.

“Cap-Captain Minamoto! Captain, you have to help! There’s Arrancar! They’re attacking the-”
“Yeah yeah yeah.” He gave a wave as a teacher ran up to him. “Focus on getting the students to safety, eh? The less of them near the academy, the better.” He neglected to mention the fact that they would die otherwise, it would be easier if he left that part out. “Yorinobu.” He gestured once and took back off in his run towards the academy. As he closed, he recognized the feeling of combat nearby - spiritual pressures clashing together.

Tsuyoshi and Yorinobu came across the heavily damaged body of Shawn. Yorinobu knelt down to identify him, first noticing the armband. He was careful to give the teacher room to stabilize him until he could be transported. “Captain! This is… this is Vice Captain Rabuburedo! He’s alive, but barely. What could have done this?” Yorinobu asked fervently, trying to get an idea of what Shawn’s damage completely entailed. Tsuyoshi, however, was distracted. His eyes were glued onto the fighting going on inside. The spiritual pressures of the three combatants left had almost drowned out the gang of academy students still trapped inside. Tsuyoshi tilted his head to one side and then to the other, slowly and deliberately. A grin came across his face, one that Yorinobu didn’t see.

“C-Captain? Captain what-”
“Yorinobu, go with those two back to fourth squad, eh? Make sure Vice Captain Rububuredo sees the sun rise sometime this week.”
“Yes, Captain. What are you going to do?”

Tsuyoshi grabbed his uchigatana and took off in a run towards the academy grounds, drawing it and holding it up and against his shoulder as he went, leaving Yorinobu to do his best to ensure Shawn made it back to fourth squad.

Tsuyoshi sprinted against the flow of emergency traffic, dodging in between academy students as he tried to recall the layout of the academy. He had spent so much time here, and yet he paid so little attention. He dashed down the length of one hall, and then down the length of another, pausing to get his bearings again. The sound of explosions and debris crashing left and right as Celes and Serenity fought it out ahead of him drowned out the frightened shouts of the academy students in the room. Tsuyoshi set his eyes straight ahead, as though trying to look through the walls. “Yare, yare.”

He raised his new uchigatana up and into the air, holding up and staring ahead as if trying to angle the blade just in front of where the students were consolidated. Hopefully, they would stay right where they were, and hopefully, Tsuyoshi’s minimal energy sensory skills wouldn’t fail him. After all, he needed the students out.

“Kai-jo. Ichi.” A dull, green colored seal flared to life on his left cheek. The octagonal design held two symbols inside of it, each with a horizontal crossing line over them. The first line of the seal glowed brightly and then shimmered away, taking away the squad insignia underneath it. There was a sudden, abrupt increase in Tsuyoshi’s level of spiritual pressure as it shot upwards, taking away the first limitation on his abilities. He swung his sword down with sharp might, and then followed through with a palm thrust from the other hand. The first shockwave created was very precise and very clean, carving through wooden supports and walls and cutting a clean slice into the walls of the classrooms, shooting debris out erratically past the students huddled in the back of the class.¹

The second shockwave carried with it the rest of the debris, punching a hole slightly larger than a human through several rooms. “Orre! This way! Don’t stop running, eh?” Tsuyoshi shouted out, stepping through the hole. Given the opportunity, the academy students made their way bolting through the new escape route that was made for them as the rest of the infrastructure of the academy began to collapse around them. Tsuyoshi wasn’t concerned about collateral damage. Hell, he was hardly concerned about the lives of those students. That being said, he was at least going to try not to kill them as he entered.

Description: This Denryokuseigen Limiter was developed at the request of Central 46 and is utilized primarily with Kenpachi who are unable to control their spiritual pressure in order to prevent substantial amounts of collateral damage and mass death related to the oppressive nature of the Kenpachi in question. This limiter further lowers the maximum stat available to the Kenpachi it has been placed on by 250 (I.E. A Rank 4 Kenpachi's boosted stats may only be utilized at 450 at most while active). It also lowers the effective Gravitational Pressure class of the Shinigami by 2 (I.E. Class 0 to Class 1, Class 2 to Class 4). This does NOT affect their ability to withstand Gravitational Pressure, only to exert it. The seal created consists of an octagonal frame, two horizontal lines on the upper and lower third of the frame itself, and the Kanji '力' for Power in the center, as well as the squad insignia for the Kenpachi in question. The seal is broken in two parts - both are released via the command phrase 'Kaijo'. The first release allows the Kenpachi to freely fight up to their natural limitations to prevent fatigue, and the second release allows the Kenpachi to fight at full power. The Seal is automatically applied as part of both entering and exiting Seireitei through the main Senkaimon Gate. The Seal is NOT applied and the first chain is automatically released if Wartime Releases have been authorized inside of Seireitei.

Generally the seal itself is unable to be detected save for those with at least 300 ES, unless it is in the process of being unlocked or has been unlocked entirely. The seal, when active, limits an individual’s offensive power while retaining their durability. Strength is limited for the purpose of striking power and kinetic motion, but is not limited for the purpose of physical durability. Speed is affected by limiting both physical speed and speed otherwise enhanced by abilities and step techniques. Reiatsu Strength is limited by affecting the intensity and magnitude of an individual’s spiritual techniques, but does not prevent them from utilizing techniques that would require a certain amount of RS to perform - they simply perform a substantially weaker version. Limitations on Spiritual Pressure affect the ability to exert Gravitational Pressure on the user’s surroundings and the ability to use Cutback offensively, but does not affect one’s natural Cutback potential. Limiters generally do not affect sensory stats at all.

How to Use: All Denryokuseigen Limiters consist of three parts and are spiritual in nature. The first part of the Limiter is the frame of the seal. This usually takes the form of a shape, generally a square or a circle, but it may be any frame. The second section of the seal is referred to as its ‘chain’ or ‘lock’. This often takes the shape of a series of lines crossing the frame. The number of lines generally determines the overall strength of the seal and how many ‘stages’ one must go through in order to fully unseal themselves, but not always. Some individuals may break through all of the chains of the Limiter at once, and other seals may be substantially more durable. The final section of the seal is its core - this is the section of the seal that effectively holds the sealed power of the individual.

Drawbacks: This limiter is placed on Kenpachi who show a gross inability to control their offensive strength in combat and their oppressive spiritual pressure. Kenpachi who have been given this limiter are expected to travel to the Living Realm through approved channels and to have it on at all times unless forced into a combat situation that requires it. All instances of the seal being released in the Living Realm and Seireitei are reviewed by Squad 7 and the Onmitsukido as necessary to ensure it is being utilized appropriately.

Description: This is a modification that can be equip to any weapon from the Kitai Shop. While this weapon is equipped, it allows the user to 'release' the weapon, much like a Zanpakuto. This lets the weapon act as a release weapon when interacting with cutback. 'Releasing' costs 200 reiatsu, and lasts for 5 posts.

This modification is attached to Tsuyoshi's beat stick. It is activated by stating the phrase "Ishuku", or Cower. The only distinguishing feature of the beat stick when it is released is that it is charged with Tsuyoshi's reiatsu, which is naturally an erratic violet and blue.

Tsuyoshi's beat stick has been crafted as an Uchigatana with a 34in. single-edged blade. Despite its size, Tsuyoshi still primarily wields this one-handed. The blade itself, aside from being honed to a razor's edge, is wholly unimpressive, save for a very faint etching, denoting it as crafted by Kitai. The hilt and blade of the Uchigatana are separated by a diamond-shaped guard, colored violet. The hilt is roughly as long as the hilt of his secondary Uchigatana, though Tsuyoshi primarily handles it underneath the guard. The hilt is also wrapped in a series of interlacing red and black silk, which dangles approximately one and a half inches from the end of the blade. This beat stick comes with a standard scabbard that is unsuitable for combat, but is colored black and sits on his hip. Tsuyoshi only carries one of his two swords alongside his Zanpakuto at any given time.
