Inovation
is the corner stone of being lazy
It opens doors to make life easier
(1) The light hum of cicadas filled the warm evening air as Marik walked through the woods with several other men in toe he had to admit this gigai of the homeless guy he had found in the back alley trashcan of a dennies was well worth the time and effort of grabbing it and cleaning it up.
(2) Marik's current attire was that of a red and black plaid shirt, a pair of ruffed-up blue jeans, and a pair of dumpster-dived timberlands that were a little worse for wair but all in all were still good for what he needed them for. Slung over his shoulder was a simple axe, he had seen an ad for work while he was in the city and decided to answer the call.
(3) who knows maybe being a lumberjack was his calling. 'let's see what we got here he would think to himself as he broke away from the group a few men taking the chainsaw's off their back's and set out for their own tree's. Not like team work made the dream work am i right?
(4) The sound of dried leaves crunching under foot would be Marik's only companion as he traversed the woods the smell of moist earth soothing his nerves, 'the human world isn't so bad to think I might consider a summer home up this way' he would think to himself with a warm smile.
(5) "well I better get to work" he would mumble to himself as he slid the axe off his back and began to scope out which tree would serve him best today. Taking his time to run his hands along the trucks of each tree as he passed them, stopping and knocking on the trunk of the tree testing it for parasites.
(6) Parasites like termites or woodcarver bees. Bugs like that would ruin the integrity of the wood and he'd have to spend another hour trying to find a new tree , as it was to be assumed that every tree within one thousand feet of that infected tree was also infected.
(7) Now the first ten tree's had solid firm bark which was a very good sign, sadly when it came to the knock test came around Marik would be sorely disappointed as it sounded as if he was knocking on a door. "tch..fucking hollow inside, and this one hollow oh and this one to" he would groan out in aggravation.
(8) Marik absolutely detested hard work and with the tree being hollow it meant he had to exhaust more effort to find a suitable tree , "this is such a fucking drag man" he would mummble to himself as he slung his axe back over his shoulder and traveled further into the forest.
(9) The canopy of the forest growing thicker by the second blocking out the light more and more as he traveled deeper the smell of moist earth going stronger mingled with an undertone of rotting flesh of some kind. "hmph smells like someone took a dump in dead dorthy anne" he would mumble to himself as he fanned the air in front of his face.
(10) After a few hours of walking the smell had grown far more intense untill he came to a massive tree in a clearing , standing tall and sturdy waving it's leaves happily in the sun. "well this might be a good tree to take a mighty oak is worth the pay" he would say in a rather nazily voice as he pinched his nose.
(11) he would walk forward and knock on the trunk of the tree , and be met with no hollow reverberations "perfect she's solid" He would say patting himself on the back stranding up. Preparing to raise his axe and bring it down on the tree's trunk , confusion would suddenly take hold of his body as the world was upside down.
(12) Marik in all honesty wasn't really surprised when he whirled around and and was met with a hollows mask , "this is what we aren't doing" he would sigh as he swiug his axe. A mighty rush of pressurized slicing wind soared from his axe which would snap under the weight of the swing.
(13) The tree hollow would topple to the ground without much of a sound as marik tumbled to the ground landing on his ass. With a sigh he would pick himself up and dust off. "well cant let this tree go to waist can we?" he would mummble to himself as he hefted his axe up high.
(14) Once marik had chopped up the tree hollow , he would bundle up the wood and begin heading back with the others. With this amount of wood he should get a rather sizable pay day , even if the wood was covered in a bit of hollow blood it was still useable they could just market it as pre-stained.
