Marik had seemed to decide he was going into the void and by proxy walk wherever it was going to take him. Completely having ignored the statue and most of what Astrid said prior from the looks of it. Silent treatment would be her response. She growled lightly but ultimately waited a moment as she considered what to do. She didn't NEED to follow him. She didn't want to in a way. But . . . perhaps there was good reason to follow him. Perhaps whatever had attacked them were worth eating? Astrid DID come for a solid meal. And considering everything that had gone on thus far? She really hadn't gotten that solid meal yet. If anything, she'd eaten, has some psychedelics, and then had burnt throughout whatever calorie's she'd eaten. All in all, if she wanted food, she'd have to follow him.
She eventually decided to throw the statue out the window and walk into the fridge-void with Marik. She was only going to get more pissed off at her indecisiveness, especially if she got attacked AGAIN. Before she started following Marik though, she let out a loud growl to all her follows. Waited for them to come into the kitchen and then motioned to the pathway Marik had used. "We're following him. . . for now. Look for anything suspicious. NO MORE SNEAK ATTACKS." She motioned for her canine companion and the chicks to go first. Then she followed and after her saika squad followed behind her. When she walked into the void and out it's other side, she realized she was in a tunnel now.
It mildly concerned her but ultimately, she just shook her head and waved it off. It didn't matter where they were just yet. However. . . the vines along the walls were. . . concerning. She couldn't sense energy but even she didn't need to be told when a plant was unnatural given, she herself was one such plant. Still, she didn't like the look over it and made sure that her saika were especially focused on them as the group followed Marik. Eventually he decided to speak up to Astrid, though again not looking at her directly, which was starting to piss her off, but she held the growl at bay. She frowned however once he got to the end and asked her why the brains tasted weird. It was. . . hard to explain. For one thing while they were "Fresh" it was fresh from the jar. Not "fresh from the body". The warm iron taste of blood really wasn't there anymore given the liquid that was used to engulf them wasn't blood. They were also softer and chewier.
All in all? They were weird because they weren't picked from the body of something and eaten then and there. To actually describe it beyond that was hard for Astrid so did the best she could with what she had. "They. . . were weird because. . . they weren't. . . Fresh? They'd been in . . . whatever that liquid was for a time. Whatever the liquid had made them different, but the brains also didn't have blood in them anymore. It's just. . . very different. The added memory fragments from them didn't help either." She started to growl a bit quietly as she remembered that. The world seemed like it fragmented around her when she started to get hit by the memories. Definitely the most unpleasant part of eating the brains. Interesting but annoying. Astrid much preferred when she could eat and be left alone or perhaps when she could hear the spirits of those, she was eating cry out within her inner world. But otherwise? She wasn't fond of getting to know her prey. It was a waste of time. Either way, Astrid and her flock continued to follow him, many sets of eyes looking over the world around them until they got to the more open cavern.
It would be at this point all spirits involved would glance at the room before looking back at Astrid. She'd been caught off guard as well, wondering just where in the hell Marik had taken them. Still, it was interesting in its own right. Namely for the purple crystals. It quickly started to remind her of Greed though and Astrid immediately looked to the Saika spirits and had them focus their sensory capabilities on the earth beneath them, while the chicks and canine were to look around them. The last thing she wanted was yet another worm of some sort to try and catch her off guard again. Let alone collapse ANOTHER cavern on her. AGAIN. She'd gotten lucky the first time. She wasn't certain she'd be able to do so for a second.
