Meredith continued to "watch" the room and its inhabitants. Namely their cores and reiatsu pathways. However, she was momentarily distracted when her pet decided it wanted to have another muffin. Which had the wrapping gently touch Meredith's cheek and causing her to realize that the pet was wearing the wrapping. In her mind she chuckled a bit at the thought of what it likely looked like with the wrapping on its head. However, it was swiftly removed, in part to return to the decorum that was necessary for this meeting. Even if the meeting hadn't started yet and Priscilla had requested that those present be at ease. There was still a level of professionalism that she needed to uphold. That, to a lesser extent, was expected of her pet also. Thus, the wrapping was crushed and placed next to her nearly empty cup of coffee.
With another glance around and keeping her ears perked for anything the others said she finally realized who Augustin was. In truth since she'd never read the reports given to her, as she couldn't and thus had to have them read to her, she was hard pressed to remember the names of everyone that was spoken to her. However, at the nickname of "Benny" it jogged her memory of the person in question. Some of her cabinet had worked around or for Benny at one point or another. Thus, stories about their experiences were told and the things he'd been working on at the time or ideas for creations had blown them away. It seemed he was something of a marvel for the Vandenriech who'd not had nearly as much technical progress prior to his appearance. She nodded to herself as she'd remembered something specific from the last letter read to her.
The man was beginning to produce poisons. Which, while typically looked down upon, would prove invaluable to Meredith. Her former existence dealt with poisons and even her current abilities had their share of poisonous applications. Her pet was a good show of that given it was crafted, in part, from the vestiges of her arrancar self. Namely the mask fragment that had fallen away when she'd been converted. She was now immensely curious about man in question yet was mildly amused and concerned as to why he was as nervous as his energy gave off. While his lieutenant was sporadic, and their energy was fluctuating Benny's was a bit subdued but still jutting around his body. This was most notably seen when he glanced at Ruhe and there was already a charge of energy with a small. . . hole? That appeared inside his coat.
Meredith let her curiosity take over for a moment and pointedly looked him over, namely the hole he'd produced. It might even be safe to say it was a tear? Not unlike a garganta in ability but still different in nature. As she listened to him speak about the necessity of sandwiches and watched him pull out various objects from said portal, she started to nod to herself. So he has a pocket dimension? Or is it the Void? Surely not though, that was a hollow specific realm, isn't it? You are a curious creature Deitrich or as you prefer "Benny". As she continued to watch Benny and Ruhe start to make sandwiches, she noticed his energy calm itself. Less ripples, less spikes in speed down his flow paths. Some was present but it was a drastic change.
His lieutenant however was not the same. If anything, he seemed to be getting more riled up as time went on. And curiously enough he even knew Alex, which made Meredith want to know just how Alex knew him. She quietly chuckled to herself at the thought that Alex was well known as a teacher for the younger vandenriech. He had an air of distance to him with regards to most. Even herself and Alex had a degree of distance despite being on friendly terms. So, seeing someone have a unique relationship was interesting. Still even after Alex responded the poor lad was trying to hide himself. A shame really, he was only going to drag more eyes on him that way. Still his superior was present, Meredith wouldn't do anything given she wasn't responsible for him.
This brought Meredith to the last curiosity in the room. Ruhe. Chosen as one to be watched by Amalia AND Priscilla. That alone was a prestigious merit. If Amalia was anything like the rumors Meredith had heard she was. . . selective. She had to agree with Lucien's assessment that she expected to hear of her as time went on. And with a cursory glance at her core, it wasn't hard to see that she had a lot of promise. Her reiatsu while not as voluminous as others had more refinement to it than Meredith and certainly more than most privates and Soldats she'd seen in her own castle. It made her wonder why she simply remained a private. Whatever the reason Meredith put the question aside in her mind. She should eat something herself while the opportunity presented itself.
What better food to eat than the sandwiches Benny and Ruhe were making? From the number of ingredients Benny had brought out from his rift whatever he was making had to be something special. So, Meredith, to ensure her pet wouldn't try to swipe any of the ingredients for itself, grabbed her centipede another muffing. The centipede immediately started consuming the treat and forgot about keeping watch over the others in the room. In the meantime, Meredith walked over to the pair, trying to make a small smile if only to not give either reason to be more concerned about her. If their reiatsu was anything to go by they still held concerns. Ruhe more than Benny at this point. "Something with substance sounds perfect. Benny, if I heard correctly, what sandwich are you two making?"
