(Asmo said it was cool if I take his place on initiative.)
Aevus gave the throne room an inquisitive glance. Taking full note of his surroundings. He sensed faint traces of Arrancar and yet something else too. And those icy blue eyes would widen as he shifted his tired gaze to the throne itself. In it, he would see a familiar sight. Draped in a darkly dress seemingly bleeding wisps of shadowy smoke, a young woman sat. Her dress was cut in such a fashion that it revealed one of her thighs as she crossed her legs. A dark bushy tail rested gently over her lap. And as he trailed up, he would see those long ravenette hairs, with black tufted ears poking out. Aevus had recognized the creature immediately as his Inner Hollow and now Zanpakuto Spirit.
The Vulpine of a Hollow’s golden eyes trailed to his blues and a hint of a smile perked her full lips. [smear:ffd700]"Greeting dear Hunter~"[/smear:ffe34d] She seemed very much at home in that throne. Rather fitting, seeing where they were. [smear:ffd700]“Curious, I sense nether Hollow nor Arrancar from this throne, but the residue of a rather powerful Shinigami~”[/smear:ffe34d] “It must be Kouhai’s throne... So that’s where we are. To think we’d be fighting here of all places." Aevus sighed. "Los Noches...” [smear:ffd700]Kouhai's? Perhaps we could change that together~?"[/smear:ffe34d]
Aevus looked askance as Umbra spoke. His left hand threading through his stubble for a moment and next to his sheathed Zanpakuto. Even with Umbra there he felt a hint of excitement, just from the idea of fighting beside Kimiko again. They never really fought against a proper enemy that could give them trouble before. Hopefully this time would be different. One could only hope. He'd begin to tap the sheathed blade. Without even looking at his former Captain he would speak up. “Kimiko? He would pause just long enough for her to answser. "Are you ready?”
A movement technique that allows the user to move faster than the eye can follow. The focal point that determines the basis of this technique is speed. As speed is the main point of the technique, the method is best characterized by how fast one can get from Point A to Point B in the least amount of steps. Training and skill are what determines how fast a user of Shunpo can move. Those of little skill in the technique or those who haven't used it for an extended amount of time would obviously be out of practice, causing those individuals to be considerably slower. This requires the use of more steps to move the same distance and become tired more easily in a shorter amount of time. A single step magnifies speed for that step by ten times. Shunpo uses fifty Reiatsu per step. This one is automatically learned in the academy. All Shinigami know this when created. This technique does not take up a technique slot.
How to use technique:
Focus of Reishi around the feet area and launch off into a single blurring step. It is not unlike teleportation in appearance, but it is simply extremely fast movement. It is often used to gain an edge in a single moment of combat or to dodge incoming attacks.
{Shunpo Karin - Mastered} Technique Name: Shunpo Karin
Class: 5
Technique Type: Kidō
Technique Element: None
Technique Description and Effects:
The famous "partial Shunpo" technique. This allows the user to initiate a single movement at Shunpo speed with one limb. This cannot be used without initiating the forward momentum. The user will need to move their arm the way they normally would before this technique can be activated. Momentum for this technique cannot be controlled. This means once the user initiates this technique, they cannot stop their limb from the movement.
How to use technique:
Stated above.
Drawback:
Also stated above. Higher Reiatsu cost than normal Shunpo. Limit is once per post. More taxing on stamina than regular Shunpo.
{Advanced Air Ground - Mastered} Technique Name: Advanced Air Ground
Class: 7
Technique Type: Spiritual Technique
Technique Description and Effects:
This is a technique designed especially for breakdancing and parkour, utilizing a more advanced version of air ground. While in a terrain where air ground exists, the user can create more complex surfaces like air walls, air ceilings, air ledges and even an air push. This allows the user to perform handstands and windmills on air as if it were normal ground or even stand upside-down on air as if gravity were reversed. The air push makes the air ground very elastic so that the user can jump higher. It allows for slight movement even when restrained by a Bakudō.
For a cost of twenty-five Reiatsu, the user will be able to momentarily cast an "air ground" on areas such as in Soul Society and Hueco Mundo, allowing the user to "double jump" or cast Shunpo in mid-air. If this technique is mastered, the user will be able to create air grounds that last for as long as a single post. This can be used in creative ways to improve acrobatics and visual impressiveness.
This is yet another variation of the Shinigami stepping technique, Shunpo. Shunkassou gathers two pools of Reiatsu beneath the users feet and lets them float around on them. This technique was designed to be more maneuverable and combat-effective than the original Shunpo. It does not instantly take the user to the destination of their choice, but lets you move around freely. The Reiatsu creates a sort of friction between it and the object you're "gliding" on. This prevents you from falling off.
How to use technique:
Pool Reiatsu beneath your feet and move.
Drawback:
While this does allow continuous movement, its also one of the slowest variations of Shunpo. It only increases speed by 2.5x while using this technique. On top of that, it costs Reiatsu equal to 3/4s of the original technique cost, meaning it costs 300 Reiatsu each post to keep active. Made by: Taien Hadohou
{Way of Omnitsu: Utsusemi - Mastered}Technique Name: Way of Omnitsu: Utsusemi (Cicada)
Class: 2
Technique Type: Kidō
Technique Element: None
Technique Description and Effects:
It allows for a movement at great speed, leaving an afterimage behind. The afterimage may even appear to have taken damage. Uses 500 Reiatsu per step. This one is referred to as a Class 2 technique, and must be trained. It is used as a 25x increase for one step, but requires the user to have at least a 3 in Hohō or Hakuda. Can only be used once per post.
How to use technique:
Focus Reishi around the feet area and launch off into a single blurring step. It is not unlike teleportation in appearance, but it is simply extremely fast movement. Often used to gain an edge in a single moment of combat or to dodge incoming attacks.
Technique Description and Effects: Rakuyo also called Counterstep by its creator Aevus. It is a step technique developed to counter those implementing them. Generally when a target uses a step technique they are designating themselves down a single path to one point to another. This is either to avoid an attack, close the distance or create it. But for whatever reason that the target issues a step technique the user immediately punishes them by following after with a step speed of 20x and attacking that target mid step. There are few countermeasures to this technique that a target can use. But the target can stop mid step if they so decide. Yet it'll strain their legs heavily for doing so, disallowing them from using a step technique for three entire posts afterwards. Every point in a ‘step’ skill such as Hoho or movement decreases this by a post. Though techniques that allow movement midstep can ignore this drawback altogether.
How to use technique: Wait for a target to perform a step technique and follow after and attack.
Technique Drawbacks: This technique requires a 3 in a step skill such as Hoho, Movement, Sonido, etc and a minimum of 400 speed to learn. The first weakness of this technique comes from its requirement. The user must be fast enough and realize the target is performing a step technique requiring at least a 2 in battle analysis or focused eye. As this technique increases the user's step speed, it is a stamina heavy technique and can easily leave the user winded if used excessively. Thirdly it requires some finesse and patience being that it can only be used as a counter measure to other step techniques.
Technique Description and Effects: Stealth and subterfuge is an art often used by those of the Onmitsukido to gain the upper hand on a target meant for assassination. Oikage is a technique created by Aevus to use that teaching to its fullest effect. It is first performed by an abrupt and flareless step at 25x their speed. Like Utsusemi and Shinkirou the user creates an afterimage in their place. This afterimage is unique though in that the users reiatsu signature actually clings to it for one post, allowing the user to easily misdirect those with any form of energy sensory or technique used to track the user. This causes the users reiatsu signature to linger, not following their person as they move and perform techniques. Allowing it to even trick techniques such as Pesquis. As such this technique initially requires a target to have at least 200 energy sensory to detect the user. Points in stealth increases this requirement by an increment of 200 for each additional point in stealth. (i.e. 400 ES for one point in stealth, 600 for two points, 800 for three and 1000 for four.) If the afterimage is struck, the image will disappear returning the users signature within 1.5 seconds. Upon mastery the blurring effect caused by the speed of this technique lingers causing the user to become invisible to the naked eye for a total of 2 seconds after stepping, allowing the user to stealthily take out their target if they're fast enough. This in turn causes an anomaly where even the users shadow has difficulty keeping up, hence the name Oikage.
How to use technique: Focus of Reishi around the feet area and launch off into a single blurring step. It is not unlike teleportation in appearance, but it is simply extremely fast movement. It is often used to gain an edge in a single moment of combat or to dodge incoming attacks.
Technique Drawbacks: On top of the class 1 cost, Oikage requires the user to possess 500 speed as well as a 3 in Hohō to even learn. Mastery requires the user to possess at least 700 speed. As the speed implies, this technique can easily leave the user fatigued and thus requires a short rest period (2 posts) before the user can perform another step tech. Lastly even though, the user can't normally be sensed by ES and tracking techniques (Unless they are techniques placed on the user), it doesn't mean it fools the other senses, except for sight. And even than the user isn't completely void of being spotted (i.e. Footprints can be seen in snow, rain will fall off the user, etc) Additionally points in anti-stealth reduces the ES requirement to detect the user by increments of 200.
Technique Description and Effects: Nadegiri is a precise and swift attack that relies upon and combines the user's momentum (speed) and the offensive cutting power of their weapon, to cut their target. The user simply draws their weapon, performs a slash at 3x their speed and sheathes their weapon. The transition between drawing, attacking and sheathing is rather seamless. It can appear invisible to slower opponents or those without the proper senses and instinct. Appearing as if the user had never drawn their weapon to begin with. The only sign generally to the victim is a powerful cut.
How to use technique: Flow reiatsu into sword arm, Draw weapon, attack and sheath.
Technique Drawbacks: Nadegiri is a powerful Zanjutsu technique that requires the user to have a 3 in a weapon skill to perform and at least 500 speed to learn. Due to the precision, speed and overall power, this technique can cause minor muscle damage on the users sword arm due to it tripling their speed. Though Reiatsu is first flowed through the users arm to prevent major damage to the user's muscles and bone. It still causes stress due to the precision and speed of the cut. Thus the user is recommended to rest their sword arm for a single post before using Nadegiri again. Excessive use of this technique while ignoring the rest time, will tear muscle and can even break bones, if the user is not careful. Nadegiri though combining the speed and offensive cutting power of the user's weapon still follows the 3x rule and can not exceed it. So say if the user had 400 cutting power and 400 speed, this technique would combine the two, making it a 800 base. The combination of these two stats, couldn't exceed 2400 with this technique. This technique counts as a short term stat boost and thus has a natural limit of uses in a thread.
Technique Name: Zen'nō Katto (Omnipotent Cut) Class: 2 Technique Type: General Physical Usable By: All Races Technique Element: N/A
Technique Description and Effects: A simple idea brought to the pinnacle of what can be done with a sword. This technique begins by the user holding their blade steady with all of their strength focused upon the hilt. Drawing the blade begins the technique which involves the user moving their arm fast enough to cut everything around them in all directions. The arm of the user doesn't appear to move due to the vast burst of speed leaving an afterimage in its place making it impossible to track the attack through arm motion. This attack lasts for only a moment inflicting damage upon anything within the reach of the blade in the span of a second making it a truly devastating technique for anyone to unleash.
How to use technique: The user must place all of their strength into the hilt of the sword while focusing completely on their blade. Once completely still the technique is unleashed.
Technique Drawbacks: Requires 500 speed along with a 2 in whatever weapon the user may use. There are few cons to this technique yet they're potent. The first of which is simply that this technique depletes the users stamina by hefty amount. Although masters can employ it multiple times potentially most who even attempt to learn this technique are left exhausted after the first attempt. The biggest downside to this technique is simply the stress and damage that accompanies employing it. After employing this technique the user loses feeling in the arm used while the skin covering their arm along with any material is ripped off leaving the limb weak and causing the user pain. Should it be employed additional times the damage to the arm becomes astronomically worse until eventually the flesh of the arm is completely ripped off. Masters of this technique are unharmed by the first usage.
Technique Description and Effects: Onibi is a brutal technique used with either a blunt weapon or with a blunt part of a weapon such as the pommel. The user's thrusts their weapon into the target of choice. This sends a force equal to the user's strength alongside a shockwave equivalent to the user's highest offensive stat into and out the back of the target. Thus creating a large gaping, cylindrical hole through the target struck by Onibi. Upon mastery Strength user's that have above 600 strength half the stamina cost.
How to use technique: The user performs a powerful thrust with a blunt part of a weapon and releases a shockwave created from their highest offensive stat excluding SpPr unless in release.
Technique Drawbacks: This technique requires at least 600 strength to pull off without straining the user's arm from a single attack. The user also requires a 2 in a weapon skill to learn. If the user doesn't have at least 600 strength, they can only pull off this technique once per arm. If they attempt to perform this technique again, they will lose all function of that appendage during the rest of said thread. Unless healed or given a rest period during the thread it was used. Those with 600 strength can take the stress of this technique twice per arm.
Go, also called "Addition", is the fifth of the Numbers. This technique allows the Zanpakuto Spirit to interact with the physical world as an attack of sorts. This technique creates a ghostly aura around the Zanpakuto, much like Ichi. Unlike Ichi, this aura is more solid, more 'real' so to speak. This technique lasts for one strike, one swing of the Zanpakuto, or simply one motion of the blade. Effectively, this technique allows the user and Zanpakuto Spirit to strike an additional time. The user of this technique can choose whether it be as soon as they attack, utilizing two attacks at once, a second before, or a second behind their original attack.
The real power, and versatility, of this technique comes from the fact that whatever effect is on the Zanpakuto, or user, at the time is copied on to the strike. (I.E, the Zanpakuto is coated with an ice-effect, the Zanpakuto the Spirit uses will also be coated with ice.). As this is a blade made of Reiatsu, it naturally bypasses the Cutback Effect.
Synergizes well with Ichi and Ni.
How to use technique: [Communicate with Spirit, work in tandem with it.]
Technique Drawbacks:
Class Five Reiatsu cost. Depending on the Spirit, the relationship they have with their wielder, and their nature, the spirit in question may not choose to lend aid to the wielder. Small amounts of Physical and spiritual fatigue if they do help. Depends heavily on the user's own skill and sword technique to make useful. Must be within the range of the original slash or attack, I.E, you can't teleport the slash behind someone if you have no possible way of getting over there with your original strike. Shunpo does not count.
Technique Description and Effects: A protective and a potentially destructive technique. Rei is a number technique created and molded by Aevus’s Zanpakuto Spirit, Lumina. Like Soul Projection this technique materializes the Shinigami’s Zanpakuto Spirit with stats tied to the user. Though this technique isn’t a complete projection and can only be used while in release and lasts for a total of five posts. The Zanpakuto Spirit appears ghostly and transparent in this form, illuminated by the natural color of the Spirits Reiatsu. Upon activation, the spirit is immediately released from the Users Zanpakuto itself. Though capable of utilizing air ground, this projections true capabilities comes when it clashes with a target. Able to push targets back with a force equal to the users highest Spiritual Stat. This acts as a protective shield, a repellent against those that’d wish the Shinigami harm. Though the Spirit can activate this technique again upon coming into contact with the target, if they want to actually cause harm. Upon doing so the Projection will explode, causing a destructive blast. That can vary in size and power, based upon the users highest Spiritual Stat (200-600 causes a destructive force of a Bala. 700-1200 is the destructive force of a Cero. 1300-2000 is the destructive force of a Gran Rey Cero.) At mastered the Zanpakuto Spirit can explode at 2x the users offensive stat.
How to use technique: [Communicate with Zanpakuto Spirit] Technique Drawbacks: First of all this technique can only be used while in release and only lasts for five posts, costing 200 reiatsu and 200 more if the Zanpakuto Spirit explodes. Upon using this technique, a single post of release is automatically lost. Meaning if the user had six posts left of release, upon activation of this technique, they’d only have five posts left of release. If the Projection explodes, it instead uses up two posts of release. Made By: Lumina Reserved?: [No.]
Technique Type (Kido, Hollow/Arrancar Technique, Human World Dweller Technique, Other): [Cutback]
Usable By (Technique is available to which races?): [All Races]
Technique Element: [None]
Technique Description and Effects (Explain appearance, powers, and effect):
Traditional cutback is triggered by a physical strike from a spiritually inferior source. Among those with immense spiritual pressure it is a useful defense. This technique converts that same cutback into an offense. The user gathers all of their spiritual energy at their core before releasing it outward with a burst. An invisible wave bursts outward with a speed and force of 600, pushing back everything in its path. It functions like a larger Martial Discipline: Ken to all those around. The user may choose to spend an additional reiatsu to increase the range of the wave. At its lowest range, the wave will travel 200 meters in every direction. If the user doubles the cost, this range will also double to 400 meters in every direction. But get this. If the cost is TRIPLED, the radius will also triple to a whopping 800 meters.
However, the real effect of the technique only kicks in when the wave makes contact with any individual. If the difference in spiritual pressure between the user and target is great enough, this technique will automatically inflict the same damage they would face had they triggered cutback. This property is what makes Cutback: Assault truly deadly.
How to use technique (How is it activated?): [Insert Below]
Charge reiatsu and release it.
Technique Drawbacks (Limitations, repercussions for use, etc) (Insert Below)
This technique costs 300 reiatsu to use, and it must be mastered before employed in battle. It may only be activated once every 3 posts, and while it’s on cooldown, the user loses access to natural cutback. However, that is hardly the most serious drawback. As this technique causes the sudden output of such a large amount of energy, it puts a heavy strain on the body, worsening all injuries the user suffered prior to activation. When used the first time, if the user has any deep lacerations or stab injuries, they will begin to bleed profusely, giving them 5 posts before they lose consciousness. When used the second time, even if the user only had thin cuts, these will widen and deepen as blood rapidly escapes them, giving the user 5 posts before they pass out from blood loss. After employed a third time, even if the user is completely unharmed, their nose and eyes will begin bleeding. In fact, their internal organs would be struggling to function as the strain of a third Cutback: Assault also caused them hemorrhage. The internal bleeding would cause the user to pass out in 5 posts after activating the technique.

Reserved? (Yes/No) (Can others use your technique, or just your character?): [No]
Technique Description and Effects: Spiritual Projection is a technique that creates an object that is spiritually connected to the user's zanpakutou. As a result, the durability of this object is nearly the same as the sealed state of the user's zanpakutou and carries the same unique properties as the sealed state. For example, if the sealed state has the unique property of glowing in the dark, then this object will glow in the dark too. Unfortunately, this object does not have a "release" but one can create all sorts of weapons to attack, be it a sword, axe, firearm or even explosive. When this technique is mastered, the user can use this ability to temporarily summon one's zanpakutou spirit. This way, people can interact with the zanpakutou spirit in the real world, which can be kind of cool. The zanpakutou spirit possesses the same exact stats as the user and disappears when the user wills its end or gets killed in the real world.
Drawback: The more advanced the weapon, the longer it takes and the more difficult it is to create. The user would have to imagine the structure of the object and trace it into reality. It is much easier to trace copies of an object that the user has already seen than to create something from scratch so keep that in mind. For example, if the user has never seen a gun before, it will be nearly impossible to for the user to create one with this technique. Each weapon has a different type of reiatsu cost to create. A knife costs 25 reiatsu. A sword, axe or spear costs 50 reiatsu. A firearm costs 100 reiatsu. A grenade costs 150 reiatsu. A rocket launcher costs 200 reiatsu. A car or vehicle costs 250 reiatsu. A plane or helicopter costs 300 reiatsu. A zanpakutou spirit costs 400 reiatsu. An inner hollow costs 600 reiatsu.
There are drawbacks to projecting a Zanpakutou Spirit or an Inner Hollow. First off, the Inner Hollow only has the same stats as the user, is only accessible to Vizards and will not hesitate to attack the user. It is not the smartest idea. Second of all, Zanpakutou Spirits have their own will, personality and ideals that they follow. In other words, a passive and peaceful Zanpakutou Spirit will not be likely to help the user fight an opponent if he or she disapproves. Some Zanpakutou Spirits are purely social characters, which are only useful in everyday life situations. Lastly, if a summoned Zanpakutou Spirit uses reiatsu, that amount is automatically deducted off of the user's total reiatsu.
When the projected Zanpakutou Spirit is killed in the real world, it will severely impair the the user's Zanpakutou ability. As a result, the user's shikai and bankai duration will be cut in half (i.e. 10 posts will be 5). Also, the user will not be able to re-project the Zanpakutou Spirit is completely restored. Restoration cool down time takes about an hour in game time.
Technique Description and Effects: It is well known in order to learn Bankai a Shinigami must manifest and subjugate their Zanpakuto Spirit. Techniques such as Spiritual Projection allow a Shinigami to materialize their Zanpakuto Spirit, or Inner Hollow when used by Vizards respectfully. Soul Manifestation is a passive augmentative technique that relies upon existing techniques or abilities that allow one to release their Spirit outside their Inner World.
Soul Manifestation’s strength comes from the fact that it allows ones Zanpakuto Spirit or Inner Hollow the ability to utilize their release alongside the one who manifested them. They are the source of a Shinigami’s power after all, it only makes sense that they could make use of both Shikai and Bankai. This follows the same rules of release as a Shinigami or Vizard. Following rules of cost and length of release. When released the Zanpakuto Spirit or Inner Hollow have access to up to five of the user's non-Release techniques and any existing Step Technique. Chosen each time they release. A great boon of freedom is granted to the Spirit upon mastery, allowing them to release separately from the user if they so desire. Soul Manifestation also grants the Zanpakuto Spirit or Inner Hollow the ability to manifest themselves whenever they wish. Using existing techniques such as Spiritual Projection and Kurayami: Kurotaigen as the catalyst. Yet treating themselves as the one who had used the technique. Uniquely Soul Manifestation also grants the one materialized its own SkP pool. Which total is tied to the user and distributed when learned. These SkP placements are permanent, which can only be changed with CIUs. How to use technique: Manifest Zanpakuto Spirit or Inner Hollow.
Technique Drawbacks: This technique is powerful, granting the user an ally who can utilize ones release. It should be noted though, this technique does come with some requirements to learn and some nasty drawbacks. Firstly the user must have access to Bankai. This shows the user has already manifested and subjugated their Zanpakuto Spirit. Or has faced their Inner Hollow when being used by a Vizard. Secondly the user must have some way of manifesting their Zanpakuto Spirit or Inner Hollow. Or this technique cannot be learned. Thirdly when mastered the Zanpakuto Spirit or Inner Hollow gains free reign of when they wish to manifest. This can be dangerous, especially for those who possess an Inner Hollow. Fourthly all Drawbacks from the technique used to manifest the Zanpakuto Spirit or Inner Hollow still apply. Soul Manifestation merely augments those existing techniques passively. Yet if the Zanpakuto Spirit/Inner Hollow is defeated those existing drawbacks from those Manifestation techniques are more severe. Doubling the time it takes for the Spirit to manifest once more. Lastly, the user is still limited by the rules of their release, regardless if their Spirit is utilizing it at the same time. Meaning release techniques, that can only be used once per post/thread are still limited in that capacity. Thus the user can’t bypass these limitations of their release while using this technique. Also even if releasing separately, release limit is tied between the two. Meaning 2 posts of release are used up, when both are released at the same time. Lastly this technique can't be learned by those with summon based releases.
The legendary technique passed down for the last three generations in the Omnitsukidō, Shunko, is a combat ability which combines the swiftness of Hakuda with the might of Kidō. It was originally created by a previous Shihōin Head.
Upon activation, Shunkō manifests as crackling white energy around the user. The ferocity and loud sound give it the appearance of lightning. Its shape forms from the dead center of the user's back, causing any garments that cover the back to be destroyed in that area. Most shoulder covering is also destroyed during activation.
While Shunkō is active, the user's physical Strength and both Spiritual Stats merge to form their offensive power, and stamina drain is suspended. All physical blows from the body result in a crackling blast of energy equal to this offensive power of Strength + Reiatsu Strength + Spiritual Pressure. Anyone with inferior offensive power will find their body ravaged by the attacks.
How to use technique:
Flux Reiatsu and activate this technique, but only after deactivating Release. This lasts for 10 posts and can be used twice in a thread. This technique puts a huge strain on the body and requires an extraordinary physical ability to use. Speed must be at least 700 at the time of activating Shunkō, and the user must possess at least a 4 in one combat method as well as a 3 in Hakuda OR Hohō. Shunkō cannot be learned by Weapon Masters, Kenpachi, Physical Prodigy, Genius, Soul Specialist, or Fighter.
Must be Rank 4 or Omnitsukidō to learn.
Technique Drawbacks:
Though this technique is powerful, its Reiatsu cost is enormous and the stamina drain is merely suspended, not removed. All stamina drain that happens during Shunkō will be taken once the technique ends. The user of this technique cannot be released when activating it, and Release cannot be active during Shunkō.
Made By: Shihōin Family, Omnitsukidō
Reserved? (Yes/No): Rank 4 Captains, Omnitsukidō of any Rank
{Shunkō: Kyūhadō - Mastered} Technique Name: Shunkō: Kyūhadō (Flash War Cry: Way Of The Swift Blade)
Class: 1
Technique Type: Other
Technique Element: None
Technique Description and Effects: Shunkō: Kyūhadō is a technique refined by Aevus to make Shunkō his own, allowing it to compliment his Zanjutsu. Once activated the crackling wild energy given off by Shunkō condenses. and begins to spiral around the user, and any weapon they may be holding. This removes the bonus of combining the users strength, Reiatsu strength and Spiritual Pressure as it normally would. Instead Kyūhadō relies purely off of the users highest offensive stat. This as one would think weakens the overall destructive power of the original Shunkō but it only initially appears to do so. Yet like the original Shunkō it does share the suspension drain of stamina while active.
The now spiraling energy that streams from this technique becomes so condensed that it causes multiple cuts (Up to ten per second) to anything that comes within two inches of the user, but while flexing and standing still, the condensed energy can expand up to fifteen feet. In a sense the user of this technique becomes a blade themselves. The energy given off by this technique is so sharp that it is constantly tearing and shredding into the air itself. This causes a high pitched cry while Kyūhadō is active.
Spiraling far more wildly from quick sudden movements, this techniques vastly extends the range that the user can attack. So instead of sending off blasts of destructive energy from the users attack like the original Shunkō. Kyūhadō instead tears into the air, warping the wind into a bladed edge. So as the user attacks they cut everything within their path up to fifteen feet, while still following the length and width of their original attack. Not only moving at a static speed of 800 but also hitting with the weight of the users highest offensive stat. And because of the very nature of Kyūhadō, a single attack can cause multiple lacerations around the area struck. Step Techniques expand the rate at which the energy moves. Becoming a vortex of slashes to anything and anyone unfortunate enough to be caught in the users path.
How to use technique: Flux Reiatsu and activate this technique, and then proceed to condense Reiatsu.
Technique Drawbacks: Shunkō: Kyūhadō lasts for 7 posts and can only be used once in a thread. This technique like its parent, puts a huge strain on the users body and requires the same aptitude to use. Requiring at least 700 speed at the time of activation, and the user must have a 4 in one combat method as well as a 3 in Hakuda or Hohō. Being class 1, the Reiatsu required to activate this technique is rather costly, and the stamina drain is merely suspended. Meaning that all stamina expended will come back to bite the user after this technique ends. Lastly this technique comes with its own unique drawback. Stated previously this technique only cuts, it doesn't actually protect the user from most attacks. Meaning anything that manages to get past the condensed energy, will actually push back and cut into the user, causing multiple lacerations. This makes Kyūhadōa a double edged sword and can even lead to the possible death of the user.
By releasing reiatsu all across the body, one can dull the sound of their movements. The reiatsu surrounding them acts like the silencer on a gun, except it acts on the whole body. When in effect, which is for a duration of 10 posts, one’s movements become completely silent, so much so that one would need a sensory of 250 or more in order to hear the user. This is the Class 5 version of the technique.
For the Class 4 version, this version can be activated at any time whenever the user wishes. By giving up 150 reiatsu when using a technique, the reiatsu flare from that technique can be “silenced.” This basically adds a silencer to techniques just like one would add a silencer to a gun to reduce noise and muzzle flash. When this is done, only those with energy sensory of 300 and above can tell when a technique is being used. By silencing the reiatsu flare, the charging technique is even able to evade Pesquis.
How to use technique:
Release reiatsu across the body and activate.
Drawback:
No drawbacks other than reiatsu cost.

{Kage no Kurōku - Mastered} Technique Name: [Kage no Kurōku (lit. Shadow Cloak)]
Class: [4]
Technique Type: [Kidou]
Technique Element: [Shadow]
Technique Description and Effects:
By releasing reiatsu across the body, the user can summon a thin veil of shadows to surround the body. The veil of shadows resembles the dark mist that surrounds Berserker from Fate/Zero. When summoned, the veil of shadows makes the user appear as a blur when moving. It becomes harder to distinguish the user and their movements, especially in an environment with any type of shadows. When shadows are around, the user is also able to blend with them completely, especially if the shadow is large enough to cover the user. To any onlookers, it appears as though the user simply turns invisible. One would need a sensory of 200 or greater in order to keep up with the blurring movements or to see the user when they meld into the shadows. The veil lasts for 7 posts.
How to use technique:
Release reiatsu across the body and activate the technique.
Drawback:
No other drawbacks other than reiatsu cost.
Made by: [Shihoin Family]
Reserved?: [No for Shihoin and Onmitsukido members. Yes for all others.]
Technique Description and Effects: Watching from the shadows. Patiently biding your time, for the most opportune moment to attack where your enemy is the weakest. Allowing even one small in stature, to kill a behemoth in possibly one strike. As one trained within the Onmitsukido, Aevus has created a technique meant for assassinations, a sneak attack which he simply has named Fracture Point.
By focusing Reiatsu into the eyes, the user can enhance their perception in a rather unique way. By spending 600 Reiatsu For up to five posts, or by spending 120 Reiatsu for short bursts, the user can see the fracture points, the said faults in both techniques, objects and people alike. These fracture points appear as thin lines within the users perception. And by striking these places, the targets offensive stat will be treated 25% less for that exchange. When Mastered this becomes 30%. This allows the user to destroy objects, destroy techniques, and potentially kill their enemies with a single blow. It should be noted because of the weak point, if the user strikes it. It'll do significantly more damage. Tripling the damage they would have imposed with but a single strike. This can allow the user to break glass with single tap, and perhaps even cripple enemies with a single precise stab. Against techniques, such as cero, the user could attack the weakest point, causing the technique to fizzle out or possibly be split in two.
How to use technique (How is it activated?): Concentrate and focus Reiatsu into eyes and analyze target.
Technique Drawbacks: On top of the cost, this technique counts as either a long term (5 posts) or short term (1 post) thus limiting the number times it can be used in a thread. This does not include when being used against objects not being used or manifested by another when used for short bursts. Hakaiten requires the user to possess a 3 in battle analysis or focused eye, and to possess at least 300 instinct. While striking the weak point requires some skill, requiring the user to possess a 3 in one combat method. Also it should be noted, the user must strike the intended weak point to actually inflict the increased damage. If the user misses the weak point, it'll inflict the regular amount of damage they would have originally.

{Kurayami: Kurotaigen - Mastered}Technique Name: Kurayami: Kurotaigen [Darkness: Dark Manifest]
Class: 1
Technique Type: Other
Usable By: Vizard
Technique Element: Spirit
Technique Description and Effects: A powerful technique, Kurotaigen takes its inspiration from the Shinigami technique Spiritual Projection. While a mastered Spiritual Projection allows one to summon a temporary form of their Zanpaktou spirit, or even Inner Hollows when used by a Vizard, Kurotaigen is a step beyond that. Not only does it manifest the user's Inner Hollow, but completely binds the Hollow to their will, allowing the user to control it without any risk of harm to themselves. Additionally, this dark figure is incredibly powerful as it inherits the user's total SP, but distributes it in a way that is more appropriate to the Hollow's fighting style. If mastered, it has a further benefit adding the bonus of a Hollow mask atop the creature's SP. In other words, this creates a powerful companion for combat, one that can have the powers of a Vizard's mask in addition to its own strength.
Kurotaigen also gives the manifested Hollow access to up to five of the user's non-Release techniques, chosen each time Kurotaigen is used. Kurotaigen or any techniques with requirements that are not met, such as a Vizard mask, cannot be gained. While the Hollow has these techniques, the user cannot access them himself, effectively splitting his combat ability with the summoned Hollow. Additionally, the Hollow has access to Shunpo—not Sonido, or any custom step techniques—without taking from the user's list of available techniques. The Inner Hollow has its own Reiatsu pool, one that is determined based on the stats distributed when this technique is learned.
When this technique is learned, the manifestation lasts for up to five posts or until the user's Vizard mask is dismissed. Until mastery, the manifested Hollow only has the user's base SP, which is distributed when this technique is learned. These stats are permanent, and can only change with SP total changes. Upon mastery, this technique lasts indefinitely as long as the user has their Vizard mask active, and the manifested Hollow's stats are doubled, as per the Vizard mask bonus. Note that the Inner Hollow shares the user's Type, and bonuses are chosen at technique creation as well, when stats are assigned.
How to use technique: First, the Vizard using this technique must have their mask active. From there, they draw upon the dark Reiatsu within themselves, releasing it into a manifest form about them. The Inner Hollow, the dark creature within all Vizards, is summoned to the battlefield at this point, and can be controlled freely.
Technique Drawbacks Though this technique creates a devastatingly powerful ally, it does have its drawbacks. First, its duration can never be longer than the duration of the user's Vizard Mask, meaning that this has a very limited potential for use throughout threads. Second, there is great risk in using this technique; if the Inner Hollow is defeated by dealing an incapacitating wound, one that would normally kill it, the manifestation is dispersed. However, the true penalty comes to the Vizard, who cannot access his mask or Release until a period of significant rest (8+ hours) is taken, as the Inner Hollow powers both. Finally, this comes with a cost of 300 Reiatsu per post.
{Umbra persona - Mastered}Technique Name: Umbra persona (Shadow mask)
Class: 4
Technique Type: Other
Usable By: Vizard
Technique Element: Shadow
Technique Description and Effects: A technique possessed by Umbra, Aevus's inner Hollow which she used to appear harmless and perhaps approachable to her dear Hunter. With a cost of 50 Reiatsu it grants the user the ability to change their form once per post to an animal or person of their size or smaller by wrapping themselves in a cocoon of shadowy Reiatsu. Giving them the ability to mold their form to one they desire at the time. In this form the users clothing and weapons melds with them, allowing the user to change on the fly if the need arises. This can also be used partially for combat purposes to dismiss and call a weapon on their person in a puff of shadow for 25 Reiatsu. Additionally one could use this technique in a Cinematic fashion for no cost to craft clothing. Mastery of this technique allows it to be flareless at night or in the dark. Meaning the user will give off no Spiritual Signature while in this transformation. This ends when the user performs a technique or issues an attack of any kind. How to use technique: Wrap oneself in a cocoon of shadowy Reiatsu and mold your form to one you desire.
Technique Drawbacks: This transformation isn't perfect by any means for shadowy whisps of dark reiatsu will leak and falter from them giving away the illusion to any, with at least a two in one of the following skills, Battle Analysis, Analysis, Focused Eye, and Illusion resist. At night or in the dark it is harder to discern the user, requiring a 3 in one of those skills. Made By: Umbra Reserved?: Yes.
Technique Description and Effects: A frequent ability among Hollows and Arrancar is Cero, a technique which releases a blast of pure spiritual energy with deadly explosive force. Bearing the power of a Hollow themselves, Vizards can learn a similar ability, though theirs is augmented further by combining both their spiritual energy with their Inner Hollow’s. The result is a deadly technique far more powerful than that of an average Cero, allowing a Vizard to strike a devastating blow against their foes.
At Learned, this is a basic Class 4 Cero, albeit with a Shinigami’s energy signature rather than a Hollow’s for those who are sensitive enough to discern the two. It is at Proficient that this technique becomes more potent: not only does the technique evolve to now be Class 3, but it also gains an automatic 50% bonus to the Reiatsu Strength of the technique if used without the Vizard Mask active. Additionally, traces of both Hollow and Shinigami energy are present in the technique. Finally, at Mastered, this technique becomes Class 2, and is given a 100% boost to the Reiatsu Strength of the technique when used without the mask, giving it the same power as when a Vizard’s Mask is worn.
How to use technique (How is it activated?): Gather energy and release from a palm. As this technique grows stronger, Hollow energy is added into the technique, making it more powerful.
Technique Drawbacks: While this technique becomes more powerful with increased mastery, it also becomes more expensive, expending more energy for its increase in force. Initially, the Vizard’s Cero costs 150 Reiatsu, and the cost increases to 250 Reiatsu at Class 3. At Class 2, it increases to 400 Reiatsu per use.
Named after, and an improved version of, the classic Jinzen position, Instant Jinzen allows the user to communicate with their Zanpakuto Spirit even during the heat of battle. Allows the user to contact their Spirit for the duration of, at most, half a post. This is entirely a mental affair, and time flows differently for the user while using it. While not necessary for the Numbers techniques, this does allow one to work with their Spirits better.
How to use technique: [Concentrate on Inner World, and expend Reiatsu to appear there, mentally.]
Technique Drawbacks:
Costs Reiatsu to do, while the regular Jinzen position doesn't cost any. While time passes slower for the user while in their Inner World, they may be disoriented upon entering or exiting, due to how fast the switch occurs. Doesn't last nearly as long as the normal Jinzen does.

Well this was definitely somewhere that she hadn’t been expecting to fight in, especially not when she didn’t force her way here. Looking around the throne room Kimiko had just one thought about it all, very big and very boring. This wasn’t something that she had been expecting from Kouhai or even any of the Espada. It just came off as barren and unfinished, almost like the design had just been finished and yet it hadn’t been claimed yet. A home that was still up for sale, how could anyone think this inspired anything other than boredom.
A sigh was all she could give with her disappointment. Still though this was a good thing regardless simply due to the fact that she was going to get to fight along with Aevus once again. Much like the Reaper of Nothingness she was excited to find out if they were going to be facing down someone or something that could actually give the two of them a challenge. Assassinations had gotten so simple when the two of them had gone together, even more simple than when either one did them alone. A big smile across her face and her nodachi held out in her right hand.
“Kimiko? Are you ready?”
“Of course, you’re with me. Let’s take them down hard.”
Post by Shoji Yoshimoto on Jul 13, 2022 20:19:34 GMT -5
A clouded haze covered Shoji’s vision which gradually cleared as he blinked away the fog of whatever mechanism brought him and the others to Kouhai’s Palace. He wasn’t entirely sure where he was, but there was a single purpose burned into his mind to tell him why he was here. He placed a hand up along the brim of his hat, fingers feeling the edge of the altered spiritual fabric that made it and quickly realized that it was the same fabric that made up the jumpsuit he was wearing. He cast his vision down to his body and took stock of his outfit: a fairly elaborate, flexible and stylish black suit with black dress pants; golden buttons and cufflinks adorned the suit as accessories, and underneath the suit he was wearing a similarly black and golden jumpsuit made from spiritual steel. ”At least everything is the right color. … I’d hate if it had put me inside of a white outfit - even if it is what my ‘ancestors’ used to wear.”
He dropped his hands down to the pair of handguns on his hips and took a very brief stock of the equipment around his waist, split between his two belts. He blinked once, sensing the alteration of vision in one of his eyes, and then again to reset his vision back to what it was before. There were even more changes to think about - he could feel that his connection with his Quincy abilities was substantially stronger and he had substantially more intrinsic knowledge of the extent of his abilities. As he took stock of himself, he realized that he had substantially more awareness of the area around him. Somewhere in the room was a Hollow, stronger and more powerful than he’d ever felt before - and across from him, closer to the throne, were two shinigami. No, one Shinigami and… one being that seemed to be some kind of fusion between Shinigami and Hollow.
What took him most by surprise was not that he could see them, nor that he could see them so clearly all of a sudden, but that he could do more than simply see their spirit strings - he could feel their auras and their very beings. He could feel their Zanpakuto, he knew their names, he could read the surfaces of their thoughts, and he seemed to have an abrupt prescience as they took in the arena themselves.
”You’re Adrastos, right?” He cast his eyes to the left, and then to the right, pushing aside the brief disorientation of coming to terms with his advanced levels of awareness in order to focus on the task at hand. ”Looks like we’re working together for this fight.” He raised his hand up to his left, forming a bright blue Quincy bow around his left hand which spun once around his fingertips, the bracelets on his wrists jingling with his movements.
A familiar presence lingered in the air, as if the world that he was inserted into was something that he should recall from previous days past. The hulking figure which he had grown use to for the longest of times now diminished into something.....nostalgic. Nails tapping against stone tiles of the floor. Fingers where they have should been now whipping sternly at his right arm. Eight feet of bone and sharped tips at both ends replaced what should have been a forearm and fingers jointed from the elbow. The weight of its length and thickness did little to sway Adrastos from what he felt his body offering. Five foot and ten inches of height, the form that the beast now occupied was that similar to those that he preyed on for a time; Human, Shinigami. The heavy curved plate that merged with his left arm too felt similar to something of the past. The large black plate twisted and sprouted from the Hollow's left arm as to take form of a circular domed plate of armor, neither encasing or separate from his arm. The two were one.
Emerging from the black edges of the room, what Adrastos saw, smelled, all that lingered informed him that he was within a confined space. The blacked left arm trailed down the support pillars that surrounded him, detailing the marble material that made up its structure. Soft to the touch surprisingly as it caved in on itself with just a simple push inward. A veil of heated breath vaped from the fractured jaws of his mask as the darkened pools of yellow eyes skimmed the horizon of the area as he was greeted casually upon his approach, ”You’re Adrastos, right? Looks like we’re working together for this fight.” It was annoying. The Adrastos was visually irritated for the reason of having been pulled into this matter for a reason he did not know what for. The fight as the Human declared was something that he was being forced to be apart of was not seen as terrible. The thought of being seen as entertainment was issue, or for whatever the reason was. All he had to do was....
The opening of the room was dead ahead as his wandering steps guided him. Empty space that was only filled with but a single seat that decorated, let alone fill the barren space with something akin to hinting life. But, that was not what caught his attention. No. What did were the individuals whose uniforms that Adrastos could not mistaken for anyone but them.[/b] The cracked maw of the beast pried itself open. Trembling chimes of the Hollows breath seeped out in short spurts of growing agitation. His chest panted heavily as did his perspiration, and that of his narrowing eyes beneath the black mask.
His toes curled with excitement. The maw peeled open to unveil the blackened shadow within as it cried out in full force. "SHINNNNNIGAMMMMIIIIIIII!" The anger behind the cry was not but a signal of what was to come, but that of the sensation that the Hollow had for Shinigami race within him laid bare. The force of the cry shook the large chamber, rattling the stilled pillars as much as it did tear through the gap between the two parties. Now was not a time for introductions. Now was not the time for fellowship or finding common ground. What ever the reason he was brought here took an immediate back seat as to what Adrastos desired with all his being, and they resided ahead of him, and he did not wait for someone to make the first move as his legs tightened, baring into the ground as they jetted himself forward and in between the pair of Humans that resided around the chair. With left arm raised over his head, upon contact with the space between the two did the arm come crashing down with full physical force of the Hollow.

[smear:ffd700]"Oh my, a Vasto Lordes~”[/smear:ffe34d] And a fearsome one at that. Aevus didn’t even need his energy sensory to tell that this creature was strong; very strong indeed. The palace shook from the Hollow’s scream alone. The features of the hollow was very striking. Especially that black mask. [smear:ffd700]"How curious~”[/smear:ffe34d] Umbra teased from her throne. With his energy sensory Aevus could also sense a Quincy past that fearsome creature. Such a strange pairing; But Aevus didn’t mind. Perhaps this was gonna be interesting after all. As the Hollow jetted towards his former Captain and him, Aevus couldn’t help but notice how slow this creature was.
Narrowing his eyes on the ferocious Hollow; he would activate Hakaiten. And through his blue eyes, thin lines beckoned his sheathed blade to the weak points on the creature. Aevus gave no wasted movement, as his tapping fingers stopped and he firmly took hold of his sheathed Zanpakuto. And with that motion he changed his stance as he readied Hitotsume: Nadegiri. He counted down the breathes it took the Hollow to get between the two; waiting ever so patiently with handle in hand.
Right as the Hollow attacked; Aevus would act. Abrupt. Swift. Lethal. Tightly grasping the rattling handle of the blade, he would unsheath his Zanpakuto swiftly at twenty four thousand speed - attempting to cut right through the bone of the Hollow's left forearm, disarming and Marking him in one fluid stroke. All with what appeared to be a different blade. But no — Aevus had merely wordlessly activated Shikai. A silver fox head howled up the handle of that stylistic Zanpakuto. A long black ribbon fell from the pommel of the now longer blade, swaying freely behind the vizard.
A cold, dark and bleak aura spread thirty feet around his very person. Part of the throne room had become his territory, his domain. All the while his blade slipped from its sheath — a thread of reiatsu formed a phantom of his newly unsheathed Zanpakuto. The blade would shoot out at six thousand speed towards the Quincy's right shoulder. Aevus would finish the upward motion of his Zanpakuto by teleporting to that shooting blade, and attempting to rend the right arm from the man with the very same attack he started against the Hollow; Attempting to Mark him twice in the process from both his phantom Zanpakuto and actual Zanpakuto.
{Attack simplified}- Aevus unsheathed his Zanpakuto at 2400 speed, and attacked with an offensive stat of 2400 using Hitosume: Nadegiri. He aimed to slice off Adrastos’s left arm starting at his forearm. During this attack he treated Adrastos’s offensive stat 30% weaker utilizing Hakaiten. Thus making Adrastos’s offensive strength for that encounter 2240. Yet while unsheathing his blade he created a phantom version of his Zanpakuto using Resonare. Which he fired at Shoji’s right shoulder at 6000 speed. Aevus proceeded to use Libatis umbraculum to teleport to the blade finishing the motion of Hitosume:Nadegiri to attempt to cut off Shoji’s right arm as well.
Reiatsu: 6875/8000
Hakaiten - 600 (1/5) Shikai - 150 Resonare {1 phantom Zanpakuto} - 100 + 50 (to fire) = 150 Libatis umbraculum - 150 (Teleporting to phantom Zanpakuto) Mark of Fate - 75 (Attempting to Mark Shoji twice and Adrastos once)

The opponents from what Kimiko could make out at the moment didn’t seem like they’d be all that difficult, especially not when she was working with her Vice Captain. The two of them had a history of handling the worst things possible, a Hollow that looked like it could be an issue along with a human that favored equipment. Showing a bit more detail as Kimiko’s trained eyes kept watch, the human revealed they were in fact a Quincy while true Hollow displayed strength groomed enough to damage one of the large pillars as if it were made from butter. An interesting foe that gave her a rush of excitement, his physical strength would be a good match.
It was almost like the Hollow could read her thoughts as its breathing began to increase then with a roar it rushed forward seeking to attack. Kimiko could feel the physical strength this Hollow possessed not only from the roar causing the entire room to basically tremble, but the expansion of his legs when he jumped. “Stronger than me huh?” She thinks to herself with a grin. This was definitely going to be a fun fight, one she would maybe savor for a bit. She’d have no other choice really when it felt as if a toddler was charging towards her. How could something so strong be so slow?
It seemed though that Aevus was looking to make the first move, something she wasn’t really opposed to. The two of them hadn’t fought together in awhile, Kimiko was usually the one to lead the attack, but it was always nice to see him get more involved. She wasn’t just going to stand vacation though. There was another that needed to be taken care of and that’s what was going to happen. Stepping forward Kimiko would appear to never move as an afterimage retained her placement. Her actual body moved past the Hollow, eclipsing his speed.
The next moment wasn’t just filled with the attack on the Hollow from Aevus, but one of his phantom swords flew through the air towards the Quincy. Aevus appeared in front of the Quincy with every intention of slashing his shoulder while Kimiko was already just beside, the moment this Quincy went with a counter, evasion or block he’d find his neck grabbed. Kimiko easily positioned herself with the technique Shukuchi-Ho enabling her to accelerate her movement speed by triple, a feat that’d keep her right on this Quincy in order to grab him and squeeze hard enough that her fingers would dig through the skin and into the flesh while she lifts him up and then slams down into the floor with her full physical might.
Technique Description and Effects: The user makes use of his innate speed to move flawlessly. From a standing stance, or from any resting position, the first step that the user does becomes an illusion, moving quickly than the eye can see. This technique gives the user a short burst of speed to move and invade an opponent's personal space, and engage in hand to hand combat, or to weave in and out of an opponent's attack. This move triples normal speed for each step, and uses no reiatsu.
How to use technique: The user simply channels reiatsu around his feet instead of gathering spirit particles as what Shunpo or Sonido does.
Technique Drawbacks: Shukuchi-Ho requires its user to have at least a base SPEED of 400 points, and is versed in Hakuda (meaning the character must be very knowledgeable in the Shinigami art of hand-to-hand fighting). Also, the technique can only be used if the opponent is within 10 meters of the user. If the opponent is too far, the technique cannot be used. A maximum of 2 steps per post can only be done using Shukuchi-Ho, nothing more, nothing less. Note that Shukuchi-Ho is by no means superior to Shunpo or Sonido.

“What a welcome into Hueco Mundo. Stuck in the throne room of the King himself and fighting a Vizard and a Shinigami with a Vasto Lorde at my side.” Shoji muttered in disbelief under his breath and was immediately drowned out by the roar of the Vasto Lorde in front of and to the side of him. The roar itself was absolutely monstrous and rocked the very core of not only his being, but the room, and the atmosphere around him. His eyes darted slightly in the direction of the Vasto Lorde before looking at his opponents again - and then he felt it. “Wait! Adr-.” He went to speak as Adrastos went to move, recognizing Aevus’s stance almost immediately. He didn’t know the name of the technique he was about to use, but he knew the stance and the readied pose - a counter-attack was coming that would be too fast for either Shoji or Adrastos to respond to.
Shoji’s intuition told him that there would be another attack or follow-up as soon as Aevus had finished in Adrastos’s direction, and Shoji was going to have a limited time to react. His eyes shot towards the Shinigami Captain in the distance. And of course you’re going to pick me. He knew she was going to step past the Hollow before she even started moving, and his incredible sensory benefit told him everything he needed to know about her approach, giving him a second or two to choose the best course of action. He wasn’t faster than either of the two of them, so he would have to rely on misdirection and interference in order to come out on top here.
The first stage of this won’t be useful… but the second… He focused his reiatsu inwards, before molding it to his personal preference. “Distortion Sakkaku: Ripple.” Moments before Aevus threw his phantom blade in Shoji’s direction, Shoji’s visage began to alternate and shift as the light bent inconsistently around his body. Like a ripple in a pond, his body began to change shape - his arms and legs alternated in position erratically and without prediction, and his height and width began to shift and change, with only the dead center of his torso remaining constant. Taking advantage of this and hoping that Aevus’s incoming phantom blade would miss, he stepped immediately into a Hirenkyaku - he wouldn’t be able to dodge it by a large margin, but a short step in conjunction with his distortion would hopefully give him the room to avoid the attack, stepping only a foot or two to his left.1
But the phantom blade wasn’t the important part. It was the change in Aevus’s intention and the sudden movement back behind him by Kimiko. Will he Shunpo? The thought blitzed across Shoji’s brain along with the immediate answer of ‘no’. That would be too predictable - his body language would give away his direction and tell Shoji exactly where he needed to go, so there had to be some other technique. No, it had to do with the sword that he was about to skate past. He had to make distance from the blade, and ideally towards his ally, without putting himself directly into Kimiko’s way. He decided, without much deliberation, that he would try the easier of the two misdirections first.
“Distortion Sakkaku: Harbinger.” As Aevus began his teleportation, Shoji looked as though he was going to try and dodge, not in one direction, but in two. First, Shoji moved towards Aevus’s sword arm, attempting to take into account Aevus’s natural cutting trajectory, leaving an after-image in his wake in what seemed to be a Hirenkyaku step. Almost immediately afterwards, Shoji seemed to move from his initial spot again - this time Hirenkyaku stepping backwards, where he would have stepped cleanly into Kimiko’s way, putting him at the mercy of the Shinigami Captain. However, of both of those moving targets, neither of them were Shoji, but pre-images projected by the Quincy, fast enough to look like real attempts at defense, but slow enough to be easily tracked by his opponents. The original Shoji, who looked like an after-image, suddenly Hirenkyaku stepped towards Aevus, attempting to slide in the opposite direction of his initial projection and make space for himself.2
After ideally making some slight distance from his opponents, came Shoji’s third magic trick. As soon as Aveus and Kimiko managed to make eye contact with Shoji, the effect would begin. “Distortion Sakkaku: Haze.” It started very slightly, but would get worse as the fight drew on, provided Shoji was going to maintain it. At this stage, it was almost as though the finer edges of Shoji’s visage were beginning to smooth out and become muddied, but otherwise there weren’t any notable changes. Instead, he focused on gaining his footing while breaking down the area around him into workable reiatsu.3
Once Shoji found his footing, gaining traction on the ground, he drew the string of his bow backwards. He channeled reishi from the ambient air around him and allowed his reiatsu to manifest and then charge outwards, unlocking the Gate on his spiritual pressure before notching five arrows and letting them fly forwards - three towards Aevus and two towards Kimiko, guided and hot on their heels. As soon as he let the initial volley of arrows fly, he focused on drawing energy into his cross again, huffing and puffing. “Give a guy a break, eh? I can’t even tell my friend all about that spirit you’ve got inside you, Vizard. I think they’d make great friends, don't you think?”4
{1}Hirenkyaku Step away from Phantom Blade, Activating Ripple Level 2 (-150 Reiatsu) Technique Name: Distortion Sakkaku: Ripple Class: 4 Technique Type: Other Usable By: All Technique Element: Water
Technique Description and Effects: Level 2:The water is a symbol of the real effect of the technique. It causes a ripple in the user’s body as well. Much like water, it will appear to flow rather than take on a single form. The user bends the light around himself inconsistently. He alternates every half a second between making his figure appear one foot wider, taller, and deeper, or one foot shorter, skinnier, and less deep. This makes physical combat with the user almost difficult, for it would be impossible to realize where their body begins and ends unless they aim for their center, which does not fluctuate. In addition, the technique extends to the user’s sword, making it possible for the target to believe that they had narrowly avoided a cut and find a gash when the sword is made to look a foot shorter than it really is. The user would fluctuate so quickly that they flicker between larger and smaller, but never take on their body’s true borders.
How to use technique: [State the technique’s name.]
Technique Drawbacks: The first drawback is the reiatsu cost. Level 1 requires 100 reiatsu to activate and 50 reiatsu each post to maintain. Level 2, however, requires 100 reiatsu per post to maintain. If all levels are active at once, the user must pay 200 reiatsu on the first post and another 150 for every post that follows. Level 1 is not required to activate Level 2, and vice versa. Level 2 can be completely ignored if the target has enough points in Illusion Resist and Focussed Eye to total to at least 4.
{2}Activating Harbinger, One Projection Towards Aevus’s Sword Arm, One Projection Towards Kimiko behind him, Hirenkyaku step in third direction, away from Aevus’s sword arm (-150 Reiatsu) Technique Name: Distortion Sakkaku: Harbringer Class: 4 Technique Type: Other Usable By: All Technique Element: [None]
Technique Description and Effects: Level 1: Harbringer - Harbringer is an inverted afterimage. Usually, those moving fast enough leave trails of their figures that quickly fade, but the visual effect is enough to confuse their opponent. However, Harbringer does the same thing in reverse. The user projects three or four images in front of him as he moves. The images will overlap slightly and fade as soon as he passes through them, but he must continue to project more images to replace them as he moves. This creates the same after image effect. However, the user will be in the rear of the trail rather than the front, where the opponent would expect. This protects him and, in fast-paced physical combat, he would be able to throw the opponent off with their timing when they aim for the first projection with the swing of a sword. However, the user may go a different direction from which he projects, making it appear like there are two different opponents.
How to use technique: Say the name of the technique and activate it.
Technique Drawbacks: The first drawback is the reiatsu cost. This technique requires 100 reiatsu per post to maintain. In addition, those with a combined total of 4 in the skills Illusion Resist and Focussed Eye would easily be able to identify the user’s location and can ignore the projections.
{3}Activating Haze and Channeling Reiatsu Regen, (+800 Reiatsu) Technique Name: Distortion Sakkaku: Haze Class: 2 Technique Type: Other Usable By: All Races Technique Element: None
Technique Description and Effects: This technique has both a passive and active affect. The passive effect is simple and not very suitable for combat. It gives the user’s Reiatsu a quality that makes it hard to clearly ‘define.’ The Reiatsu is still detectable in every way that is normal. However, if someone has encountered the Reiatsu of someone who can use this technique, they cannot make the connection between Reiatsu signatures. It is impossible to identify someone by recognizing their Reiatsu signature if they have this technique.
However, if the user activates Distortion Sakkaku: Haze, the fun effect kicks in. It requires the user to pay 100 Reiatsu per post, but if done, the victim starts to feel effects over time if they are looking at the user. If they have looked at the user for a total of three posts in the thread, the user will begin to seem blurry and unclear. Their eyes will begin to glow like a monster and their voice will sound muddled. After five posts, the user will appear to be five feet taller than he actually is with a deep, distorted and echoing voice, and when he moves, blurred after images follow him and don’t disappear until several seconds pass. After eight posts, the user is completely transformed into a shadow-like monster created by the imagination of the target. It is all an illusion, but it strikes fear into the target’s heart over time. This makes it harder for an enemy to fight him, for each post, their heart rate speeds up with terror. The illusion forces them to feel fear and allows the user to win both the mental and physical battle.
How to use technique: Channel Reiatsu and pay the Reiatsu cost every post it is active.
Technique Drawbacks: The first obvious drawback is the Reiatsu cost. In addition, this technique may be resisted with a 3 in Illusion Resist. Any points in Calm Mind and Lack of Fear increase the amount of posts required for these effects to occur by the same amount of points in each skill (Ex. One point in Calm Mind and one point in Lack of Fear increase the amount of posts required for effects by two). This technique can simply be avoided by anyone who avoids looking at the user. The blind are clearly immune to the illusion.
There was no impact. The sudden crash that was intended to come about was shrouded in the silence that Adrastos did not count on occurring. Like stilled motion. A picture frame that he felt a part of remained, keeping all within a single captured notion as to what came to past. Only a small section of his left forearm was frailing about in front of him as the still began to increase in movement. Life returned as the Shinigami's blade whipped through his hardened muscle and bone clean, yet some resistance. Despite the small instance between their strength, what was there could not be avoided as cutting through something that was nearly that of steel. The pain shot up, coursing through up as natural as the cry out from the beast immediately followed. A blood curdled cry that was amped with the full strength of the Hollow was nothing short of ear rupturing to those within the immediate vicinity of the creature. With the Shinigami following through with his slash did the Hollow released his strength once more, yet in the form of his vocals.
The cry that once before shook the chamber easily was again present, yet being now introduced to it in ground zero. Even as the Shinigami would come to leave the Vasto Lordes' side as he finished his single slash he would still be within range as he was leaving. Rumbling in the ears. A loud piercing scream that can shake stone walls and pillars to their core would most certainly shake the interior of one's head, let alone rupturing the ear drum. The pain that coursed through the now phantom limb settled as the beast gazed down towrads it, ozzing the black fluid that was spilling from its newly formed nub. The echoes of combat ran amok chaotically from behind leaving the beast a moment to collect himself, and cease the annoying pain of his forearm.
Both of the Shinigami had gone away from him. Eyes glancing at the rousing sounds of conflict behind. Muscles tightened around the forearm, sealing the wound for the moment as a section of the tile beneath him was grounded into powder. Easily crushed within the Hollow's hand and applied, what would suit the beast for the time being as his mind was replaying what had occurred earlier. The difference in speed, and in strength. There was a difference in the two, yet not by a large margin in strength. Adrastos growled at annoyance that he had to deal with another irritating adversary. But it could not be helped. With his ally having most likely be the main thought of the two Shinigami, leaving the Hollow with a lot more time. He did not come to think about what the Shinigami that lopped off his hand did prior, but only with what needed to be done. A sore throat from the scream would need a moment to rest before using it again meant that there he needed another approach.
The floor of the arena shook. The enlarged spiked arm rose with the Hollow's eyes watching at the blinding speed of the trio. Cracks ruptured beneath the trio before shattering entirely into large pieces and utter debris that was followed shortly by a shockwave that washed over the Hollow's general direction at the speed of 800, and the force that equaled to the creatures full strength. Stone columns pulverized. Large stones raining down over the trio that once made up the roof. What was suppose to be solid ground became nothing more than a simple free fall, leaving the only solid ground being from, and beyond where the Hollow stood. Kouha's throne room became nothing more than a single giant hole in the fortress.
Dust and rubble would be all that was left of what once stood in front of the Hollow. Empty space. Walls giving away from their weakened base. Ceiling that would only transition into pure sun light into the darkened veils within the throne room. Instincts restless at the slightest tinge of movement from the enemy with throbbing muscles that were paralyzed throughout the right arm. A pain that Adrastos was use to, and able to overcome if needed. Now, all that was left to do was wait.
