Circumstances: With Marik currently spending his time hunting within the Menos Forest, and Rose looking for a better opportunity to study Hollows, the two face off against each other in a rather spontaneous clash!

If nothing else, had had to thank Arcadus. If it wasn't for him, Rose would've had absolutely no reason to spend his time in Hueco Mundo of all places. He could've went about his own business, biding his time before he was ready to move forward with all of his projects and whatnot. But, no. He'd been lied to. And that wasn't something he was going to stand for. So, Rose was going to do what he could in order to make sure that Espada paid for what he did.

For now, though, he was going to enjoy himself! Hueco Mundo wasn't somewhere he'd ever really found himself before. And, while finding his way out was likely going to end up teetering on the side of impossible, that was a problem for when he got there. For now, though, he was a man on a mission! Running his right hand through his hair, pushing it back to clear the excess sand from his head, Rose took a moment to look around. He was going to have to try to find some way to navigate, despite how difficult that might've been.

Despite that, though, Rose didn't allow himself to feel down or negative at all. Quite the opposite, in fact. Today was going to be spent on research! His time was going to be dedicated toward learning all he could about Hollows; their behaviors, movement patterns, migratory preferences if any, and more importantly, combative styles. Surely something in there was going to give him the information he needed in order to beat that callous Espada. And if not? It was going to give him a better insight into hollows he'd encounter in the future. An absolute win-win!

Softly sighing to himself as he wandered around the Menos Forest, Rose quickly began to make note of the fact that the area, while not quite littered with Hollows like he'd expected it to be, was rather vibrant with life. Er, unlife? He couldn't really tell with these kinds of things. Reaching into his pocket, and pulling out a small wooden contraption, Rose tossed it into the air in front of him before running his own reiatsu through his fingertips. Stretching from his hands toward the wooden device, thin blueish lines of reiatsu connected him to his creation.

As Rose weaved his fingers through the air, humming a chipper tune to himself all the while, the clacking of wood against wood softly echoed through the air as the contraption began to unfurl itself rather quickly, taking shape shortly thereafter as a smaller wooden falcon. Moving the puppet with a flap of its own wings back toward himself, Rose allowed the small bird to rest plainly on his right shoulder, keeping it in place with a single hand of reiatsu-focused string. Now somewhat armed, he was ready to see just what this desert was going to have in store for him.

Infinity Style - Taking traits from the weapon-focused style of Kendo while also working to incorporate swift, aggressive strikes from a Shinigami's Hakuda, Aldwin has started developing a weapon-based martial art he's named Infinity Style. Infinity Style focuses predominantly on swift, well-timed attacks with as many different weapons as the user can comfortably maintain control over at a given time. Generally, these weapons will be scattered around the battlefield, primed to be used as the user wishes. Being a weapon-focused style, the martial art also incorporates a healthy amount of disarming attacks, and attacks while disarmed.

Technique Name: Ransotengai (Heavenly Puppet Suit)

Technique Description and Effects:
A useful technique whose use had been lost through the ages and only recently rediscovered, Ransotengai is an ability that allows the user to create strings made from spiritual particles. These strings can be attached to the user's body, allowing parts of them to be moved around in a manner similar to puppets. One string can control a single limb, or the head, and one string is attached to each finger, giving a total of ten strings. Doing so, however, leaves the hands occupied and unable to be used for other abilities while this is active. The main use for this is to enable the use of a limb that has been damaged, or to counteract torn muscles or broken bones to ensure that one can still move, albeit with great pain. Upon mastery of this technique, it becomes that much more versatile; these strings can now be attached to another person besides the user, though this is only able to function as a support technique due to the frailty of the strings.

How to use technique:
Draw in Reiatsu and turn it into fine strings that attach themselves to the user or, at mastery, to another person.

Technique Drawbacks:
The first drawback to this technique is that while it enables the use of damaged parts of the body, it doesn't necessarily restore function as much as it simply puppets the area about. Steady pain is a symptom from this, along with a reduction in effectiveness; any physical attacks made through a puppeteered limb is treated as though its offensive power is halved. Additionally, any drawbacks that damage the already-damaged area are either doubled in potency or advanced one tier, whichever is worse, depending on the technique.

The second drawback comes when puppeteering another person; these strings are frail, and can be broken easily. When attempting to grab a hostile foe, this technique is simply shattered by pulling against it, as it requires voluntary permission to be controlled. They can also be snapped by any attack with half the user's Reiatsu Strength or more when used to puppet another person, as a foe can simply sever the connection by striking the strings. This doesn't work when the user is puppeteering themselves, as the strings flow along their body, so there's no way of stopping it short of severing the limbs.

A rather simplistic puppet within Rose's personal creations, Olympia most notably resembles that of a wooden Peregrine Falcon, though no more than six inches in height. Her sculpt is certainly nothing to write home about, being fairly blocky in appearance, but still holding a pretty fair comparison to her source material regardless. The puppet has a surprising amount of articulate joints across the entire design, allowing for an almost lifelike amount of motion. Almost.

Upon purchase, choose a type of Spirit Puppet between Combat and Utility. Combat Puppets are focused around being used to fight, whereas Utility Puppets are focused more on out-of-combat applications and utility uses in a fight. Depending on the choice, the IP and Durability of the Spirit Puppet will change.

After choosing a Type, choose a size between Small, Medium, or Large. Small Combat Puppets range from 6 inches to 3 feet in size, and have an IP of 100 + 100/Class (Max: 800). Medium Combat Puppets range from 3 to 6 feet in size, and have an IP of 300 + 100/Class (Max: 1,000). Large Combat Puppets range from 6 to 9 feet in size, and have an IP of 500 + 100/Class (Max: 1,200). A Combat Puppet’s Strength is equal to its IP, and its speed is equal to half its IP. Utility Puppets have these IP values reduced by 25%.

Puppets are also made up of various different upgrades. Depending on the type of puppet purchased, a certain number of Upgrade Points and Upgrade slots are obtained. Upgrades (sold separately) can be put into these Puppets, so long as the slots and points are able to be spent. While outside of combat, these upgrades can be changed freely.

Combat Puppets begin with 1 Utility Point, and 3 Weapon Points. Depending on the Class of the Puppet, a certain amount of Utility and Weapon Points will be given in order to socket a Spirit Puppet with Upgrades. For Utility Puppets, instead reverse the values for Utility Points and Weapon Points (At Class 3, a Utility Puppet would have 7 Utility Points and 3 Weapon Points).

In addition to these points, each Upgrade may also have a “slot” that it’s meant to socket into. Depending on the size of the Puppet, only a certain number of Upgrades may be attached to those slots. A Small Puppet has 0 Head Slots, 2 Limb Slots, and 2 Chest Slots. A Medium Puppet has 1 Head Slot, 3 Limb Slots, and 2 Chest Slots. A Large Puppet has 2 Head Slots, 3 Limb Slots, and 3 Chest Slots. Upgrades cannot exceed the Upgrade Points or Slots that a Puppet has access to. Unlike other items, Puppets can be upgraded as a character advances in Class. This costs half the Ryo it would cost to purchase a Puppet of that class (Upgrading from Class 2 to Class 1 would cost 13,000 Ryo to do).

Drawbacks:

Utilizing Spirit Puppets require some kind of item or technique capable of creating spiritual wire or strings of some kind, like Ransotengai or Advanced Air Arsenal: Air Strings. If using a Spirit Puppet with Ransotengai, though, the IP of these puppets are not halved if Ransotengai is mastered. If those strings break, the puppet in question is left inoperable for the remainder of the post, unless the user is actively controlling said Puppet with two hands. If a Spirit Puppet's durability is reduced to 0, every Upgrade currently slotted into the Puppet will immediately break. Puppets are still rather big, and without a proper method of storing them they will be incredibly cumbersome to carry around. Unless stated otherwise, the same Upgrade cannot be socketed more than once. Considering they affect how a Spirit Puppet is produced, once an Upgrade is slotted in, it cannot be removed.

I spy with my little eye

(1) Boredom pure unadulterated boredom coursed through the little adhujas in this moment it had been months since his evolution , he had slept through a great portion of it waking up to binge eat as he normally would. But he was noticing things where becoming dicy for him.

(2) as an ahuja he needed to eat almost constantly or else he would feel the souls he had spent moths shattering within himself reforming. He had taken to actively delving into his soul scape and shattering the flood of souls from the hollows he had been eating , thus locking him in a constant cycle of eating and suppression.

(3) while his body felt well rested his mind was constantly working making him constantly feel exhausted no matter how long he slept. ‘Im so weary of this….i dont wana keep eating other hollows all it does is add to the damn load but if i dont it gives the supressed souls time to reform’ he would think to himself with a sigh.

(4) ‘Now that i think about it the last hollow i killed said somthing about a vasto lorde being nearby…..from what i’ve gathered it goes..hollow , Gillian or menos grande whatever then adhuja who need to keep eating and then…the illusive vasto thingy’s maybe if i become one of those i wont need to eat as much and can just filter feed off the reishi?’

(5) his eyes would begin to water at the mere thought of it , a life that wasn’t constantly killing and eating he might be able to even get a bed!? He would suddenly be pulled from his wild imagination as sound of shifting crunching sand rang in his ears , the bone spine on his body would begin to trembl.

(6) as he sensed a dangerous foe near his home. ‘Mmm i just built this nest i dont want someone ruining my bed…should i attack them….but i could get another thirty minute nap if ignore them’ he would think to himself with a sigh. It was tragic honestly slowly he was losing a vast amount of lazy ways , which was heartbreaking for him now seeing his occasional 10 hour naps as a gift from the gods themselves ; seeing as he was constantly on the move.

(7) Slowly and quietly he would inch his way to front of his burrow poking his beek out ever so slightly from his hole beneath one of the many quartz tree’s that dotted the land. His heart would jump into his throat as he saw what he deduced as a human but being in hueco mundo ‘could this be a vasto lordez? I CAN GET MY BODY BACK!’.

(8) he would think to himself silently as he did a little happy bird wiggle hidden from the world. That took care of one issue but now there was another one ‘how do i get him to go away..’ he would think to himself placing his chin on the underside of his beek in a thinking position as he walked back up to the burrow entrance taking in the creatures appearance.

(9) he felt strong in comparison to marik ‘mayb i can scare him off? Eh worth a shot as long asi dont waist time with a long drawn out fight’ he would think to himself as he backed up slightly preparing himself to speak. Unbeknownst to him his voice was not as he remembered it but like that of a childs voice on helium.

(10) as he spoke his squeaky voice would echo through the area the emation point seemingly from a quartz tree. As his burrow entrance was a hole in the ground near the base roots about half and inch thick as he himself was extremely small , hopefully the vasto lordez didn’t put the pieces together.

(11) “MIGHTY VASTO LORDEZ WHY HAVE THOU COME TO MY TERRITORY! LEAVE OR INSIGHT MY WRATH!” he would shout in his no so intimidating voice sighing after he spoke , a ting eof pink showing through his feathers in his hidden den as he was now embarrassed. ‘Oh my god i sound like a damn balloon! I’ll never pick up ladies again!....wait are there lady hollows?’

(12) this information ran through his brain for a moment as he was a little confused as to why he knew what a lady was he didn’t remember anything beyond his life as a hollow. “...ugh this is to damn much” he mumbled as he eyed the man from the shadows of his burrows entrance.

(13) During this time of watching marik would examine this man’s features , it was hard to make out in the low light of hueco mundo but the guy seemed beyond average in appearance. But the clacking of wood made marik’s little bird head to a confused tilt , to his ears it sounded like the clicking a holows mask’s would make., ‘wait is his mask in his arm and not his face?’

(14) he would think to himself. ‘Maybe when i become a vasto lorde my mask will become a pillow or something’ he would think happily as he watched the man from his hidey hole. An uncertain feeling roiling in his stomach as he couldn’t think of what exactly to expect most enemies he fought where on par to him but this guy felt a little scary…only time would tell.

“MIGHTY VASTO LORDEZ WHY HAVE THOU COME TO MY TERRITORY! LEAVE OR INSIGHT MY WRATH!”

As these words were spoken, Rose turned his head as quickly as he could to face the source of the sound. Though, oddly enough, all he noticed was a tree? Furrowing his brow, Rose quickly darted his head around. A Vasto Lorde? He thought to himself, aren't those supposed to be the pinnacle of hollows? As his own thoughts seemed to set in on himself, Rose immediately dissolved into a state of sheer, unadulterated panic.

Drawing his Quincy cross, and forming a bow of reiatsu, Rose immediately began to shift his weight around, aiming the bow at every nook and cranny he could find within a few short seconds. Given he wasn't much faster than the peak of what a human was capable of, this wasn't too fast, but was certainly fast enough to show just how disheveled Rose was at the prospect of a Vasto Lorde being in the area. "I-I mean no harm!" he shouted, stumbling ever so slightly over his own words, "to the Vasto Lorde out there; please, don't harm me! I-I'm part hellion! I don't taste good!"

Continuing to keep his guard up, Rose did absolutely everything he could in order to make sure that nothing was going to bring him harm. He knew for a damned fact that he wasn't nearly armed enough to take on a Vasto Lorde at the moment. After all, this was just a research project! Why would he need to be armed to the teeth? Seemed that was beginning to backfire quite quickly, but regardless. If he needed to take the 'coward's' way out, he wasn't above groveling in the sand to some hollow. He valued his life, after all.

"And to the Vasto Lorde whose territory I'm in, please! I don't mean you any harm either! I'm merely here to learn more about you, and the other Hollows of Hueco Mundo! If you're willing I'd just like to talk! If not, please, let me know where to go to leave and I've no problem doing so!" As confusion continued to set in, Rose still did what he could to remain as perceptive as possible. The only kind of Hollow he could think of that would try to threaten a Vasto Lorde was another Vasto, and he did not want to get stuck in the middle of that. Without any way of quickly leaving the nighttime sands, he needed to do what he could to survive.

I spy with my little eye

(1)Marik would squint his little bird eyes as he looked out at the many from his hidy hole , ‘this creature is suspcious…is…it really a vasto lordez…maybe a human...but most humans arent this damn strong if i run he may cause trouble in my hunting grounds…which means i’ll have to work harder for my food….but he says he simply wants to talk'.

(2) Unsure of what to truely expect he would decide against his better judgment and issue on last warning. “Any funny business and i drop the tree’s on your head and leave you here” he would say in his best menacing voice which just sounded more like a child trying to be scary

(3) In a flash of blurry neon green , purple and white he would shoot forth from his little burrow dashing about the tree line attempting to get a better look at the man. ‘Hmmm just as i thought he’s a pretty boy’ he would think to himself , hanging his head in shame as he flew , despite being average looking to most of those around him to marik who was now a bird saw all humanoids as overly attractive therefore envied them greatly.

(4) ‘Fucking beautiful bastard i shoudl blow you up’ he would think to himself as he rounded his last lap around the tree clearing stopping about nine meters away from his acquaintance. The light humm of his wings would echo through the area as he had revealed himself to the man.

(5)he would stay silent as the tension was becoming so thick that you could cut it with a playdoe knife. “What are you exactly? And what knowledge could you possibly be seeking in this hell masqraded as heaven” he would ask that last part with obvious dis-dain for hueco mundo and it’s food chain.

(6) He truly detested the way things worked upon the hollow food chain , the assimilation of souls kept in a constant cycle of tormented cycle of MEASLY EIGHT HOUR NAPS! And when ever he stopped feeding he found himself locked with an eternal battle for his individuality.

“Any funny business and I drop the tree’s on your head and leave you here.” Once again, these words worked to send an agonizing feeling through the Quincy's head. "W-whoa now!" He said, "let's not get too hasty!" Using his free hand to scratch the back of his head, Rose found himself laughing out of sheer nervousness. Truth be told, he found the higher-pitched voice the hollow had somewhat comedic; he'd felt that for something like a Vasto Lorde, it... didn't really fit. Regardless, though, he was sure as hell not going to say something like that, lest he'd get himself killed. He shivered at the thought.

As Marik emerged from his hole in the tree, Rose found himself squinting to try to make out just what this hollow had looked like. He seemed, well, quite small. He'd known Vasto Lordes to get smaller than when they were Adjuchas, that much was taught to him by his mother. But this small? Lord, he'd overestimated just how big he'd expected them to be. Does this mean that Arcadus had been that small at one point too? The thought very much amused him. Though, Rose was quickly pulled from his own thoughts as Marik once again decided to speak. “What are you exactly? And what knowledge could you possibly be seeking in this hell masqraded as heaven”

Using his free hand to guide Olympia over toward Marik, Rose weaved wires through the winds to cause the bird to come to life once more. As the bird flapped its wings, and subsequently took off from his shoulder, he allowed Olympia to fly in place just in front of Marik. "Truthfully," he spoke, allowing Olympia to fly around Marik as he did, "I'm trying to learn as much as I can about Hollows like yourself. I've got someone I'd like to get back at for causing pretty great harm to me; an Arrancar. To do so, I'm learning what I can about Hollow behaviors!" With a cheerful smile, he flew Olympia back toward his shoulder, gently perching her against him.

"As far as what I am, though; I'm a Quincy, as much as I detest the fact. Truthfully, I don't seek to bring you any harm; quite the opposite, in fact. I've no problem co-existing with you for the time being, provided you're willing to help me learn a bit more about how you, well, live!" Keeping up the same smile he'd originally had, Rose did what he could to be as friendly as possible. After all, with a Vasto Lorde that he could barely see standing in front of him? What choice did he have if he wanted to walk away alive from this encounter?

I spy with my little eye

(1) Marik would look at this false bird with some level of curiosity, 'what in the 7 rings of heaven is this thing?' he would think to himself resisting the urge to peck at the thing's eyes. It had been some time since he had seen a regular animal and this thing gave him some sense of comfort.

(2) although one thing his eyes did pick up on was the slight finger movements of the person in front of him. The smallest flick of a finger caused a drastic change in the bird in front of him, 'is this some sort of weapon?' he would think to himself as the bird approached.

(3) Although upon seeing the glint of the wires as the bird flew toward him he would be immediately on guard, once the thing would attempt to circle around him he would immediately fly upward one meter. "hmmm..." he would lightly groan as he squinted down at the man still a tad untrusting.

(4) "i'd prefer you keep that weapon on your person , it doesn't do much for my confidence in the fact of you saying you simply you're hear to learn how we hollow's live" he would say rather curtly clear offense in his voice. The neon green hummingbird had been dead sometime now.

(5) but in all the years he had been dead never did he think what he 'perceived' to be a weapon was commonplace to have flitting around the battlefield in the middle of a civil conversation. Although his eyes would visibly narrow at the mention of the word 'arrancar' , "arrancar are a legend they aren't real....they can't be!" he would say with some gusto lacing his voice confident in this stance.

(6) He would listen to man's words about looking to study hollow behavior's , it almost confused marik a little as to why he would want to do so. From marik's veiw point and his own life as a hollow , he was bound to an endless chain of eating himself subjugated by his need to consume,

(7) not only would he eat the souls of the living but also other hollows. "so that's what you've come here for , to study the hollows within hueco mundo....for the sake of killing an 'arrancar'?" he would ask putting extra infasis on the word Arrancar still convinced they wheren't a real thing.

(8) The meer idea was simply ludacris a hollow who had removed thier mask!? everyone knew that when a hollows mask was broken they died! it was common knowledge. "as for your research id be willing to help , in exchange for two simple things of course this comes with some free advice if you agree to these terms"

(9) he would say lightly fluttering over to and perching upon a branch. "unlike most hollows i tend to have a love for rest and relaxation and have lost my ability to hibernate for months at a time , so after i feed i grow bored attempting to take measly eight-hour naps" he would say with a slight yawn preening his feathers lightly as he looked the man up and down and trained his eye upon the puppet.

(10) "Provided you entertain me with a spar and allow me to rest upon your head as you travel for a few days , i will act as your willing guide to Hueco Mundo do we have a deal?" he would ask with yet another yawn almost sounding like he might be winding down for bed.

(11) Marik would eye the man's face attempting to guess the answer, in truth marik may have helped him either way but these constant streams of naps were beginning to bore him. The hummingbird hollow felt like he needed excitement in his un-life, things had become so dull that simply existing and eating bored him to tears. A little spar wouldn't hurt that much would it?

(12) On the Pluss side whether he would win or lose he would still gain a brand new sleeping spot , he would think as he smiled on the inside mainly because his beak cant does it. "going once, going twice and...." he would say teasingly wanting his bargin to be met.

As he allowed Olympia to circle around Marik, Rose made clear note of the way that the hollow seemed to be watching his puppet. Pulling her back with the sound of a "Hmm", Rose allowed his wooden creation to rest neatly on his shoulder, much like he'd intended to do originally. Though, what Marik had prepared to say thereafter certainly worked to catch Rose by surprise, almost immediately. Scratching the back of his head, Rose chuckled to himself. "Yikes," he started, "I'm incredibly sorry 'bout all that. Last thing I was lookin' for was offending a Vasto Lorde like yourself. Hopefully you're willing to forgive me on that one?" If nothing else, he was going to at least give Marik the opportunity to respond to his question before moving on. That was the least he could've done; especially if he did end up actually offending the hollow.

As Marik went on to comment on the validity of Arrancar, Rose once again found himself politely chuckling at Marik's words. "They're quite real," he started, "in fact, I ended up seeing a few on my way here. Entered Hueco Mundo through Las Noches, after all, so I didn't really have much of a choice on that regard. Have you... never been to Las Noches?" Truthfully, Rose was quite curious. For a hollow like this bird to have never been to Las Noches was, well, quite surprising. Especially given the fact that it was Hueco Mundo's prime-time spiritual hotspot. Surely he had his reasons, but even aside from that, things were growing ever more interesting by the moment.

Watching as Marik made his way over to a nearby branch, Rose slowly followed over, and rested his back against a tree. Seemed the hollow wanted to say something. "As for your research id be willing to help, in exchange for two simple things of course this comes with some free advice if you agree to these terms." Rose immediately perked up at the comments. "Well, what might those terms be?" "Unlike most hollows I tend to have a love for rest and relaxation and have lost my ability to hibernate for months at a time , so after I feed I grow bored attempting to take measly eight-hour naps."

Rose had to do a double-take of sorts. "Sheesh," he laughed, "I wish I could nap for eight hours. That feels more like a full-night's sleep to me if I'm being honest." As he finished his joke, and Marik laid his terms out, and Rose perked up immediately. "Sure!" he exclaimed, rather excitedly, "can't say I'd mind that if I'm being honest. It'd definitely be good to get a feel on how someone like you fights! Plus, I've got plenty of room to carry you around for a bit, so I can't say I mind on that regard!"

I spy with my little eye

(1)Marik would flap his wings lightly in approval of the words of rose , this was something people rarely gave marik at all RESPECT finally he wasn’t the ‘little guy’ or ‘frail thing’. Respect was indeed not common among hollows seeing as they spend most of their days devouring one another.

(2)But in the rare instances that marik has had to talkw ith those not of feral minds they’ve all almost talked down to him. “Thank you for showing me respect , it’s not common place for those of this realm to talk normally to busy trying to eat you or ruin your nest’s” he would say with a sad sigh. He was clearly grateful for their temperament.

(3)“at this point im going to miss when we have to part ways when your research is done” his voice carrying genuine disappointment.Although marik would tilt his head slightly as rose began to speak , "They're quite real," he started, "in fact, I ended up seeing a few on my way here.Entered Hueco Mundo through Las Noches, after all, so I didn't really have much of a choice on that regard. That can’t exist because……i’ve never seen one…and if that thing is real how many more centuries will i be stuck..like this” he couldnt accept roses words to be truth , because if he did they would give him the one thing that drove men mad.

(6)Although marik’s hope was not that of your typical man , this meant that he would one day enjoy the feeling of the sun on his skin as he sleeps beneath the tree’s once more. He seemed to be lost having a thousand mile stair as he was lost in his fantasies until he was snapped back to reality by rose’s next words , ‘this guy is either crazy and im desperate , or he’s an angel and i cant wait to help him’ he would think happily as he listened further,

“Thank you for showing me respect , it’s not common place for those of this realm to talk normally to busy trying to eat you or ruin your nest’s” Rose couldn't help but chuckle at bit at Marik's comment. Truth be told, he didn't exactly doubt that things like that went on; not after what he'd heard from his Mother, from Mara, and from a few others regarding Hollows. It almost sent a shiver down his spine just thinking about it all! Soul King only knew he couldn't find the will to live in a place like this.

"It's not a problem in the slightest," he spoke, "I'd like to think anyone is deserving of a bit of respect, yeah? At least, until proven otherwise." Another chuckle followed in suit. Given what he was talking about earlier in regards to that damned Espada, Rose felt it perfectly within his line of reasoning to have a lack of respect for that man; especially after everything that had happened thus far. Taking a deep breath, he tried to take his thoughts of of Arcadus for the time being. Harping on that was not going to help him.

“at this point im going to miss when we have to part ways when your research is done” Tapping his finger to his chin as Rose spoke, he found himself almost lost in thought. "I'm not sure about that one," he said somewhat cheerfully, trying to hopefully give Marik a bit of a positive outlook, "I can't say I'm opposed to potentially meeting with you again at some point down the road; worst case scenario, we could absolutely find a place for you with the group I work for!" Once again smiling toward his avian friend, Rose continued. "While not the most common, we've got a few hollows within our ranks. I'm sure you'd fit in rather well, all things considered!"

As conversation between the two quickly shifted toward that of Arrancar, and what that meant for Marik, Rose decided to hear him out on the matter. “I mean arent arrancar like these crazy monsters that are supposed to be stronger than vasto lorde’s?? That can’t exist because……i’ve never seen one…and if that thing is real how many more centuries will i be stuck..like this” The Nakabakki immediately found himself lost in pondering once more, before answering Marik's question. "I'd like to think that whole 'crazy monster' comparison really depends on who you meet," he said with a laugh, "I've met a fair share that have actually been pretty sweet! I can't really speak in terms of power, though; that's another reason why I'm here if I'm being honest!" With that, he gave a jovial wink toward the hollow.

If nothing else, that was a rather noteworthy reason as to why he was in Hueco Mundo; to see just how powerful folks around here were, and if dealing with Arcadus was actually worth, well, dealing with. At the moment? He had no clue. Most Arrancar weren't exactly the most willing to engage him, from those he'd asked. Even Arcadus wasn't wanting to do so at first. Nonetheless, he was gonna get his answer one way or another! And with a mental pumping of his fist to the sky, he was prepared to take that step into his research with his new buddy!

Pulled from his thoughts almost immediately from Marik's words, rose found himself stopping in his tracks as he took a second to consider what he was saying. aring they where in was about two hundred and fifty meters of wide open space. “Hmmm so for sparring purposes should i spit rocks at you or am i allowed to use semi-lethal force…i really like my new friend and i dont wana hurt you?” Chuckling softly, Rose spoke up. "You're free to go all-out, honestly! If nothing else, that'll significantly aid me in the research I'm looking to get done here. I promise you I'll be able to take most anything you throw my way; I'd like to think of myself as pretty resilient." As though to emphasize his point, Rose waved his right hand toward the hollow; a right hand that was very clearly a prosthetic, made almost entirely of what looked to be wood.

(1) Marik would give a quick nod as rose rose his wooden arm up in the air as if to put him at ease in terms of hurting his friends. With that, he would flip his wings and begin flying backward while maintaining eye contact with rose. His eyes would trail to that wooden bird resting upon rose's shoulder , 'just what does that birdy do...' he would think to himself. His mind was racing at a million miles a minute , he knew nothing of the indavidual before him , thier fighting style , thier analytical skill , or how deadly thier blows where. Somewhere in the deepest depths of his soul he felt that maybe rose had tricked him and had lured him into a trap, but at this point he was in to deep to not commit. Stopping once he had reached a distance of twentie me



(2) Wanting to test the water Marik would gather a small amount of riatsu, calcifying it within his stomach creating a solid jet black pearl within his throat that he would then spit it up. Marik would be aiming for the sand just between rose's feet, not wishing to harm him but giving him a feel for his abilities, after all this was simply a spar and the first time Marik would be fighting. He himself wasn't sure what the explosion would do to rose but he was hoping not very much.

Placing his arm down back by his side, rose did what he could to prepare against the hollow in front of him. Squinting his eyes as to keep him in sight, Rose ran through just what he could in his head to try to figure things out. Sure, his analytical skills weren't the greatest, but he was good enough at figuring things out when he needed to that it shouldn't've been too much of a problem. Judging from Marik's size, he had quite a bit of reason to believe that whatever kind of attack the little bird was going to throw his way wasn't going to be anything too large.

And oh, how wrong he was.

Watching carefully, despite being barely able to see the hummingbird from such a distance away, Rose made note of the attack that was headed toward him. Well, that was the plan, but naturally something like that wasn't going to be incredibly successful, all things considered. As Marik spat a small, pellet-shaped orb of condensed reiatsu, Rose realized very quickly that this was fairly out of his league. As the bullet travelled at a speed of 600, directly toward his feet, Rose scrambled to try and get out of the way.

Unfortunately for him, he didn't have very many stepping techniques, or anything to reason a meaningful escape in time for the orb to explode. As Marik's reiatsu detonated on the area right at his feet, Rose found himself quickly swept off his feet, and set back a couple of feet just from the sheer force of the explosion itself. Sliding back against the thankfully rather soft sand, Rose couldn't help but laugh aloud.

While for the most part very human, Rose's own spiritual prowess wasn't anything that left him incapable of defending himself. While sure, this explosion was going to hurt like hell when his newfound adrenaline left his system, his own spiritual pressure was there to at least make sure such a blast wasn't immediately lethal. Something he was going to find himself incredibly thankful for, all things considered.

Continuing to laugh regardless, and pushing himself to his feet, Rose commanded the same strings connected to his wooden bird to move, allowing the now-dinged puppet to take flight once more. "That was one hell of a blast," he said through his chuckling, "I genuinely would've never expected something that... big." Truth be told, while it was certainly unexpected, the turn of events proved itself to be rather entertaining regardless.

After recovering from the blast, Rose took a deep breath. He patted himself down rather quickly with his currently free hand, if not only to make sure that he wasn't on fire in places he didn't exactly want to be. After that quick pat-down was done, he huffed. Seems his opponent was going to be... rather difficult to deal with, all things considered. If nothing else, he'd need to think carefully about what was going to come. Though, he did have somewhat of a plan.

Starting to walk, then run, and eventually turning into a full-on sprint toward the Hollow, Rose did what he could to immediately close the distance, while keeping his eyes on Marik as best as possible. He knew damn well that if he moved too quickly, keeping track of his opponent was going to be a nightmare. Regardless, though, he did have a plan. By the time he was around ten feet away, he made an immediate right turn.

While he was running right, however, Rose took control of Olympia with his free hand to move her to the left of where he turned. As both of them went on diverging paths, both Rose and his bird continued to close in on Marik, albeit in different directions; the goal was a pincer attack of sorts, looking to limit Marik's escape options. Given he was able to move Olympia faster than he could run, there was a very real possibility that the puppet was going to get there first.

In that scenario, the goal was to move Olympia in such a way that allowed her to rake her talons across Marik as efficiently as possible. Quick movements, slight adjustments to the wings to account for gravity, and a rending straight down across the Hollow. Even if his attack did hit, and even if there were lasting injuries, Rose wasn't too worried about it; he knew how to patch himself up, so who was to say the same wasn't going to work for a Hollow as well? Even if damage was sustained, he wasn't going to just leave his new friend out to dry like that.

(1) Marik would flutter in place as he watched his pellet speed at rose , ‘why is he not stepping away like those shinigami do all the time? Was the attack really that weak?’ he would think to himself as self doubt began to rack his brain. When the pellet made contact with the sand near roses feet.

(2) A neon green explosion of flames followed by a shockwave would emanate through the area. He would internally cringe for a moment as he witnessed the devastation from his attack , as he was now a tad concerned for rose’s well being that was until the laughing started.

(3) ‘It was that weak?!’ he think to himself sadly but would quickly be uplifted by the words of praise from rose , "That was one hell of a blast," the quincy would say to him through his chuckles "I genuinely would've never expected something that... big." this in itself was something marik had to agree with , most of his opponents never expected such a large attack from such a tiny opponet.

(4) Marik would take note of Rose's advance he was happy he had given himself some distance , he was slightly confused why he was maintaining such a speed and squinting. 'am i really that small?' he would think to himself as his attention was soon diverted by Rose's maneuver.

(5) He would activate his ulcera moments before the bird like construct made contact , his form vanishing into an inky void before disappearing completely. He would re-appear thirty feet behind rose. he would then take aim planning to fire a judan at his back, but the bright neon green flames on his opponets body would cause a glare that would cause marik's been to veere off course.

(6) The pellet would fly four meters crashing down onto the sand exploding , the brunt of the explosian wouldn't harm rose , but the shockwave would upheave some sand and possibly coat and extinguish his sparring partner.

As he continued to sprint toward the Hollow, fully thinking he'd put out all of the fires on his person, Rose was blissfully unaware of the fact that he was slowly being cooked from the outside in. As it turns out, these fires were, to his surprise, sticky as all hell. A fact that was going to quickly catch up with him, much to his chagrin. Continuing through with his plan, Rose continued forward.

As he eventually closed the distance between himself and Marik, Rose found things quickly taking one hell of a turn for the worst as Marik seemed to disappear; unbeknownst to him, he'd made use of the technique Ulcera in order to clear some distance between the two of them. Unable to pick apart just where the bird went in a timely fashion, Rose found himself and Olympia quickly subject to yet another blast; though, this one closer to Olympia than to himself.

As the explosion sounded, and sent the Nakabakki flying back from the area hit, sliding across the sand and rolling out rather quickly, Rose then and there found himself painfully aware of the intense burns now coating his entire body. As though made aware of the last minute or so of flames licking across his body all at once, Rose found himself shouting out in pain, doing what he could to try to put these damned flames out.

Practically rolling through the sands, uncaring that the strings connecting him to his likely destroyed puppet by this point had been severed, Rose quickly found himself entering a state of fight-or-flight as he strived to put out the fires as quickly as possible. Truth be told? He didn't want to die. As surprising as that might've sounded, he wasn't really looking for this to be his last fight. As such, the struggle to put himself out was on.
