He has grown as a person, being a once lazy man who did his duties with a strong reluctance, to charging head first whenever and wherever he is needed. ]
Qualifying Threads [Born Enemies, Espada vs Shinigami
A battle in which Connor was not prepared for. He challenged an Espada, who at the time had been minding his own business. He was quickly overwhelmed by the arrancar, and was spared for whatever reason. Connor realized from that point on, he cannot be so headstrong in his approach to battle, and that sometimes words are stronger than any weapon. He learned humility.
A Test Between Soul Society Agents
Connor, recovering from his encounter with the Espada, had decided to do some of his squad related duties. As a member of the communications squad, he had paid a visit to the Substitute Shinigami known as Izanami. The woman was difficult to communicate with, due to her personality and mannerisms. The two eventually decided to have a fight between them, to see if they could not learn each other better with their blades instead of their words. Connor learned that Izanami was a soldier to her core, fighting as efficiently as possible, something that resonated with Connor, trying his best to adapt that into his fighting style as well.
Big Ben's Got Some Growing Pains
On a particularly tragic night, London was attacked by a rampaging hollow. This normally would not have been too much for Connor to deal with, but the hollow had stirred the police up into a frenzy, and hiding out in Big Ben, likely as a lure and trap for the humans. Connor was forced to fight the hollow without his blade, as to prevent structural damage to the surroundings. The fight was further complicated, as a wheelchair-bound Failure had decided to intervene. She had some sort of gravity manipulation as her power, and was using it against both the hollow, and Connor himself. The building was quickly loosing structural stability. The hollow retreated, as the Failure was also launching an assortment of energy attacks at it. Connor was forced to make a choice between trying to help kill the hollow, or prevent the failure from completely destroying the landmark with her various powers. He chose the latter, and managed to remove her from the structurally unsound clocktower. The hollow escaped, while Connor learned that one must prioritize the lives of the poeple, over something like buildings or landmarks.
Search and Destroy
Completed Adventure
A special mission assigned to him and several other shinigami, to hunt down and capture a Vandenreich agent, working in a position of power in the local government. Their orders were to capture him alive, and bring him back for interrogation. This was a mission that favored stealth, and had been the plan going into it. But, as they say, no plan survives first contact with the enemy. It quickly devolved into a cat and mouse style chase, before the group managed to beat and defeat the Quincy in charge. Connor learned that one had to learn to adapt on the fly for any and all environments. To have a backup plan is required for their line of work.
They've Already Reached Our Border
Completed Adventure
The beast clan that live in the Wilds tend to keep to themselves most of the time, but reports were made that a particular group of them were starting trouble in the outer districts. A group of Shinigami, mostly from the eleventh division with some volunteers from others, made their way off to deal with them. The trek through the woods quickly became an ambush, as they became surrounded by insect beast clan, looking much like cockroaches. The groups fought long and hard, but eventually the numbers started to overwhelm the group. One by one the shinigami started to fall, until there was only two left. Connor and another shinigami. The two retreated, fleeing the best they could, before reinforcements arrived to relieve them of the battle with the hoard. It taught Connor that teamwork was invaluable in both combat, and in other situations. It was the only reason he had managed to escape with his life.
The Living Lab
Incomplete Adventure
This time, it was Connor's turn to play as reinforcements, as he was sent to aid a group of shinigami on a very strange mission. Apparently, a lab in France was abandoned, and they were sent to find out why humans were going missing in the surrounding area. What he found shocked him to his core. Bugs were invading the world of the living. Not beast clan, but scientific abominations grown in the lab of a mad man, or several in this case. A hoard unlike any he had seen before threatened to wipe out the city they were in, should they have failed their mission. Following the trail, they found a secret lab in the sewers, and ventured deep inside. The initial team were sent back to the Soul Society, as they had sustained heavy damage, but thankfully backup was sent in their steed. Through numerous battles on the inside, Connor unlocked his shikai, and helped to curtail the numbers.
Incursion of the Citadel
Incomplete Adventure
A search and destroy mission, looking to find out why so many humans were going missing, and numerous reports of missing persons returning as fullbringers and dying later. Connor initially went in alone, as reports on this area were not reported well, as his discovery of a small city of bount was not in the documents. He quickly stumbled across a small woman, who turned out to be an extremely powerful Failure, not the same one that he met before. Given that his mission was search and destroy, he decided to aid her, as she wanted the destruction of this place as well, for whatever reason. The two powered through most obstacles, with little capable of standing in their way. Humility helped him gain a powerful ally in this scenario.
Bankai Training
Connor returned to a place he thought he would never return to. This was a village that was a blight on the entirety of the Soul Society, as it was effectively the base of operations to a large bandit clan that Connor had been forced to work for. Long story short, Connor managed to wipe them all out, and the night still haunted him. He returned to this location to see if he could manage to understand his Zanpakuto spirits, to see why they craved death. Connor managed to find peace with Tamashī, learning that he loved life as much as he, but in a more roundabout way. He wished for those who would harm life to fade away, something that Connor had come to agree with in his numerous adventures. He also learned that one of his spirits was a hollow out for his death. This has ignited a fire in him, setting Connor on a race against time to overcome his inner hollow. ]
