Inside of Kento's mind.
HONK. HONK. HONK. HONK. HONK.
"Houston, we have problem!"
Captain Movie Reference Houston, or M.R. Houston on his business card, was sitting in his usual chair of office. The interior looked much like a very advanced control room for a war. Houston was the guy that was sitting in the center, in a big spinny war chair that was all metal and cool looking. It had no buttons on it, because he was just the guy that sat there and yelled orders at people. He was bald, and had a military hat, and a scar running down his eye. He was really cool, and his voice was also a militaristic drilling all by itself, before he even raised it. When he raised it, it was an orchestra of authority. He pointed and yelled.
"YOU THERE! STATUS REPORT!" The thing he was pointing to, one of many dozens of little chibi Kentos at computer monitors, immediately began speaking. "SIR! THE HEART IS OVERLOADING! ITS SPEED IS NINE TIMES THE NORMAL RATE!" Houston's forehead got a vein pop, and started turning all red. "WHAT IN TARNATION IS GOING ON?!" he bellowed at the chibi Kentos everywhere inside of Kento's head. The computer monitors all over were showing Shizuka's face on the monitors, along with a hearts borderline all around her. In a circle around the main command chain of computer circles, larger hamsters in wheels were running overtime, as fast as they could. The contraptions beneath the wheels were spinning the large noodle mechanism inside of the head much faster than it should be going.
"SIR!" another chibi Kento reported. "HE APPEARS TO HAVE BEEN KISSED BY EXTERNAL PRESENCE S-5-1, SHIZUKA." Houston's fist slammed down onto a conveniently placed wooden table next to him. It was cracked and damaged already, and so this table was obviously for nothing except Houston's cigars and his fist slamming. "GODAMNIT, WHY WEREN'T WE MORE PREPARED FOR THIS?!" Houston shouted. He would definitely have pulled his hair out if he had any. Luckily, he was so bald that he wouldn't know what to do with a comb. Was that a bad bald joke? It doesn't matter how bad the joke was, because Houston was still BALD!
Outside of Kento's head, back in the room
Kento was so red. He was so red that he didn't know how he wasn't part tomato or part ketchup. His face was burning hot, and his heart was pounding like a locomotive. He didn't know how to respond to what had happened. Shizuka had buried her face in his chest, and she'd said all of those things, and then her lips had touched against his. Kento was going to die. He couldn't even respond to her. His tongue felt dry. He knew that this was probably her way of showing that she'd recognized he wanted to say something. He knew she wanted to hear it, and he knew then that she felt the same way. He'd seen her blush, and he felt her heartbeat from her body. Kento knew that this was the time to tell her everything. It had come faster than he'd thought, but it had still come. He didn't know how to get the words, though.
What do I do? What do I say?! Why can't my mouth move?! Why can't I talk?! What is this?! Kento's heart started accelerating even more in nervousness. His precious milliseconds to seize the timing were ticking away. Kento knew for a fact that he had to get this done, and he had to get it done now. He was about to label himself a guppy forever. There was something to be said for being a guppy. It was that guppies could never forgive themselves for lacking the guts to say what they needed to at the moments of greatest importance. It was that Kento was going to beat on himself forever if he didn't say it then.
As the remaining two or three seconds that Kento had to get his crap together began ticking away, something inside of Kento simply snapped. It was like a barrier was suddenly shot down by a rocket launcher. His heart rate reached a final acceleration that he was certain was twenty times the speed at which it should be going. He wasn't sure if he was even breathing anymore. It didn't matter if he was even breathing anymore. Kento took his right hand, and took Shizuka's face by the chin. So a friend of his had advised him that this was good. That didn't make it unoriginal! Well, it did, but it was still good. Kento wasn't thinking. His mind was fluid while he pulled Shizuka's face back to his. And in spite of everything, his nervousness, his worries, his normal guppy nature, and in spite of the fact that all of the chibis and hamsters and Houston were watching, Kento kissed her.
It was a long one, because he held it. He enjoyed it too much for it to be short. His breathing and heart rate deccelerated. They were returning to normal. The barrier had been crossed, and his nervousness was fading away. In the feel of the moment, Kento could smell Shizuka's hair. It was nice. And her lips were warm, and so was the rest of her face. And he was going to admit that he'd fantasized about a moment like this a thousand different ways or more. It could have been only seconds, or maybe hours, or perhaps years and forever and eternity that they stayed like that, but eventually Kento pulled away. With this came a new feeling, from that sacred barrier being crushed by Houston's glorious missiles.
Suddenly, Kento felt a golden surge of confidence. It was not a river or a torrent, but rather a wall, a tsunami. It was a tidal wave of pure, undaunted confidence. He was feeling a golden glow. He was invincible. I'm standing on the balance beam that is the top of the world, and everyone is watching me beam and soar. Kento's eyes narrowed in his manly confidence, and he put his hands over Shizuka's shoulders. When he spoke, it was with a louder, bolstering and confident voice with flawless annunciation. It was similar to his battle monotone, but with a fiery, burning passion behind it. Because Kento was awesome. And peepers and readers of this thread could suck on Kento's absolute superiority.
"Shizuka," Kento said, burning with a confident smile suddenly. Maybe he was so confident because she'd already returned the feeling. "It was obvious the very first time I missed my chance to say it. But I'll say it now, so you can have the pleasure of hearing it. I like you. No, rather, I love you. Or perhaps I feel both. I have feelings for you in my heart, and they've been there for a while. I'm ready to admit that to you, now. But, I'm not going to ask you to be with me in that way. Not here, not now. I can plan a much more romantic event than this."
Kento also put his lips closer to Shizuka's ear, and whispered to her. "As for continuing, we can do that if you want to. I warn you, we'll probably need a time skip and some other accessories. It's all on you, Shizuka."
Meanwhile, inside Kento's head,
"HOUSTON. THERE APPEARS TO BE A MASSIVE BLOOD SURGE IN THE BODY!"
HONK. HONK. HONK. HONK. HONK.
