As Shade ran Gen completed his cero at the san-seki. However, just like Gen’s completely accidental dodge of Zieg’s first bullet and his uncanny sixth sense regarding the exact amount of reiatsu strength needed to render Shade’s sword useless, the third seat somehow knew something was amiss. Just as the cero came into existence behind him he saw the green glow on the ground in front of him and immediately dove to the side allowing it to smash into the ground where he was just standing. Shade glared at the arrancar for a moment before he continued to help the vice-captain. However, just as Shade went to help, he noticed one of the espada release his zanpakutou. (It was very difficult to miss it) Rio towered over everything and took the form of a massive cerberus with four dog heads instead of three.
Shade jabbed his massive shikai in the ground in front of him as the espada’s reiatsu launched out like a shockwave. Buraindo Kira made a very effective shield, but just as he was about to get up and remove his sword Rio released an even greater shockwave. The san-seki stayed behind Buraindo Kira as Rio’s shockwave damaged every building around him for one hundred meters. Fortunately Buraindo Kira was able to withstand the punishment and acted as a makeshift wind-breaker type shield for Shade as he stayed behind it. After the shockwave died down Shade removed Buraindo Kira from the ground and continued following Anastasia who had suddenly changed her target. Rio had now made himself the center of attention by releasing.
Shade decided that he’d be of more help against the espada that was already being ganged up on by multiple other shinigami. If he could help take down that one then he would feel as if he accomplished his mission. As the third seat ran he sliced his left palm open on his zanpakutou. The blood dripped over Buraindo Kira’s blade and he was immediately given an incredible boost of stamina. With a shunpo he brought himself directly in front of Rio’s many faces, holding his zanpakutou between him and the towering Cerberus. He floated in the air for a moment, for he would begin his descent soon. He had essentially leapt in front of the espada. He felt no fear, in fact, Shade felt nothing in that moment. He was simply a tool, and if he threw his life away then it would be for the benefit of Soul Society. He didn’t care. So for the first time in that fight the san-seki released a blinding light that would leave all eight of Rio’s sensitive eyes useless assuming they noticed him, which they no doubt did with their senses. It was all he could do for the moment.
Remaining Reiatsu: 500
Shikai: 3/10
