This arrancar stands roughly 5’9 in height. He has a medium build, but one that does not resemble that of a fighter, often causing others to underestimate him. Rio usually wears the usual arrancar garb, with a number of alterations. He wears a white jacket, like all Arrancar, with a closed front, and black socks with the white sandals. His only alteration to the outfit is that he has removed the sleeves. This can cause him to appear almost feminine at a distance, although this misconception is quickly cleared up once one gets close enough to him, fortunately. His Espada tattoo is located on his stomach. Rio wears a black scarf around his neck to go with the arrancar uniform. This can double as a defense against gas if he needs it to be.
Rio is left handed, but likes to trick opponents by fighting in a stance more familiar to right handed people. He wears his zanpakuto; dual Sai, at either side, on the hip, in leather “sheaths” of sorts. His sheath, however, is actually just three leather loops that the Sai blade and prongs fit into neatly. The Sai themselves are well displayed, and hardly concealed. Anyone that looks at Rio will see them clearly. Each Sai is about 20 inches in length. As they don’t have a full sheath, the Sai gleam a marvellous Chrome steel, glinting in the light as Rio moves. The loops are fairly loose, allowing the Sai to be drawn very quickly.
Anyways, on to actual features of his person. Rio is Caucasian in color, and his eyes are narrow and a shocking violet in color. There doesn’t appear to be a reason for this, it’s just how it is. His face is usually set in either a bored or amused expression, and his mouth is actually lined with canine like fangs, rather than normal teeth. His hair is medium length and black. It is often slicked back, but occasionally Rio will let it run free. Despite being a fight monger, his hair is surprisingly soft and silky when it isn’t gelled, though you wouldn’t realize it, looking at it. His skin is actually relatively pale, even for a Caucasian. This is because of all the time Rio has spent under the sunless sky of Hueco Mundo.
His Hollow hole his located just below his neck. His mask fragment takes the form of a jagged shard just above his right brow, though it is often covered by hair, enabling him to actually appear almost human at a glance, though the strength that he flaunts so proudly may reject such a view. Rio has a mass of scars from accumulated battles. Scars are the mark of a warrior, and he has gleaned many across his torso. A particularly notable scar is an immense one, across his forearm, a gift from his fight with the Sexta Espada, Lucitide, and it is visible on the other side, a wound the lanced clear through the Quinta’s arm.
Rio usually takes poses that reflect his self confidence, with squared shoulders and an upright posture. He is constantly either grinning or scowling. Regardless of which it is, if he directs the look in your direction, you’d best start running, because it probably doesn’t mean good things.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-Personality-
Dislikes: [
-Defeat: Rio’s defeats have been few, but each one weighs on him heavily, a burden to his conscience. He does not handle losing well.
-Shinigami: Rio absolutely despises shinigami, and has for most of his existence.
-Weakness: While he “accepts” weakness in others to a degree, as others aren’t as strong as he is (in his mind), Rio hates to show any level of weakness, even if nobody is there to see it.
-Fire: Rio really doesn’t like fire, as it reminds him of the first time in his life as a hollow that he was defeated. It remains a point of abject terror for him.
-Persians: The bastards that caused his untimely death in the first place!
-Vizard: Stemming from his hatred of shinigami, Rio's hatred for Vizard is slightly lesser-- afterall, they appear to have tried to compromise their shinigami roots. Nonetheless, they are still shinigami at heart, and for this, Rio sends his finest curses.
- Sonken Kouhai: Rio's hatred of this man is vast enough that were it given physical form, it could crush the entirety of the Seireitei and Los Noches at once with ease. His hatred is held only in check by his fear of dying before he has realized his dream.
-A peaceful death: To Rio the greatest insult would be this. The idea of a warrior passing away peacefully in bed, or perhaps succumbing to a disease horrifies and disgusts him. The only resting place for a warrior should be on the battlefield, in Rio's mind.
-Cowardice: Those who turn tail and flee in battle are the most disgraceful of people, and Rio has no patience for them at all. The hypocrisy can be staggering, I know.
-Soul Society: Aside from being run by shinigami, their philosophies contrast with Rio’s too much. He hopes to see it reduced to rubble before his lifetime ends.]
Likes: [
-People who are strong: Rio has a great admiration for others who have managed to find strength, and he may go so far as to tell them this.
-Being strong: Of course, Rio himself loves being more powerful than others, since he values strength so highly.
-Winning: Rio despises losing. When he does anything, winning is the only option for him and he revels in victory when it is attained.
-Crushing those weaker than him: In relation to winning, Rio absolutely loves to completely crush his foe and destroy them, if not physically than mentally. He’s a bit of a bully that way.
-Raw meat: Rio has a taste for raw meat. He will rarely cook any of his food, preferring to eat it raw, perhaps a tendency drawn from his resurrection.
-Battle: Rio is a fightmonger, always looking for a good brawl. He wears his battle scars like badges of honor!
-A warrior's death: It was the death Rio died in life, and it is the one he wishes to suffer in the afterlife. Rio gives his finest respects to the warriors with strong enough resolve to spit at the face of Death, and hold their ground on the battlefield to their last breath.
-Women: There are two things to living a good life. Good wine and good women and Rio appreciates both of these things quite highly, enjoying the company of the opposite gender.
-Alcohol: While not exactly an alcoholic, Rio is fond of drinking and does so when he is able.
-Wolves: Rio is quite fond of this animal. He thinks that they are strong, proud animals and they have many traits that he admires.
Water: Water is very, very good. It puts out fires…. >>
The color black—Rio quite likes the color. It’s his favourite color in fact (well, lack of color, but don’t play that game with me!)
His scarf—Rio really likes his black scarf. It’s the one “fashion-accessory” he will allow himself to hold, and he has had it for a very long time, often repairing any damage done to it by hand.
The color green- It’s the color of Rio’s own reiatsu, so he likes it!
Dogs- Yeah, he likes dogs too, go figure.
]
Flaws: [
-Arrogance: Arrogance is easily Rio’s greatest flaw. He sees himself often as much more powerful than he really is, and often underestimates his opponents.
-Although Rio can be devious, his fighting style has the flaw of being a bit too straight-forward and he doesn’t often work very hard to vary it. Once you’ve figured out his fighting style, assuming you’re still alive, you don’t typically have to worry about it changing up very much if you can adapt.
-Rio has a bit of a phobia concerning fire based abilities (See below).
-He’s also a bit of a bully. Rio loves to push around and mock those who are weaker than he is.]
Habits: [
-Rio has a habit of calling anyone under the level of Espada, or shinigami weaker than himself “trash” or “garbage.”
-Rio has a tendency to become much more volatile than usual when users of fire are either being discussed or in the vicinity.]
Fears: [
Due to his past defeat at the hands of Ryuujin Jakka, Rio has an inbuilt fear of fire-type zanpakuto, or abilities. Even in a rage, Rio will single out opponents that use fire type zanpakuto, and relentlessly target them. In Rio’s situation, his fear drives him to try and eliminate such opponents as quickly as possible. Rio’s fear isn’t entirely based on his defeat though, but what followed. Namely the weakness. Seeing users of fire-based abilities reminds Rio of that time in his afterlife in which he was so weak that he had to hide himself from even the weakest of hollows, or risk destruction. The thought that he could return to that time of his existence terrifies Rio, and he associates that fear with fire-type abilities. He thus attacks them whenever he can, believing himself to be more powerful than they are, and desperately trying to kill them before they can gain the strength to oppose his own strength. But as a result of his fear, it is these foes above all others, that, should the battle begin to turn even slightly badly for Rio, he will flee the battle in a panic.
Another fear, as implied above, is the fear that Rio will die a peaceful, quiet death. Rio knows that if he is to die, he wishes to do so in the heat of combat, a bloodlusting grin plastered onto his face. Perhaps even dying standing, his body dotted with battle scars, wounds, and maybe even the occasional sword or two protruding from his body. Standing in the blood and grit, staring his foe in the eye for some time before they realized he's stopped breathing. To die any other such way horrifies Rio, and he is oddly determined not to die this way.]
Goals: [Rio’s foremost goal is to become the Primera Espada. Because he values strength so highly, it is his greatest aspiration to become the most powerful member of the most powerful race, casting aside all the weaklings that don’t deserve their rank. 5th best isn’t good enough for him. Even 2nd best wouldn’t be good enough for him. Rio wants to be THE best, and doesn’t care whose head has to roll for him to reach that level. He schemes and plans things out as well, to make things worse. Although he values strength, for his goal, he would not be above attacking an Espada when they were drastically weakened to steal their rank. If they were weakened, they shouldn’t have been out in the open where their rank could be stolen!
His second goal is much longer term, and far more difficult. His secondary goal is to eradicate the shinigami from existence. His hatred of them knows no bounds, and since Aryuusai crippled him as a hollow, their destruction has never been far from his mind. It is entirely likely that it is due to this goal that his primary one has been to become the Primera Espada. Should he attain such a rank, Rio is confident he will be powerful enough to make this dream a reality.
Rio’s final, and most important goal to him, is to see Sonken Kouhai die. It isn’t even important that he is the one to do it. As long as he can see the death with his own eyes, and witness the arrancar take control of their own destiny, he will be satisfied]
Alignment: [Chaotic Evil]
Aspect of Death: [Destruction]
Overall Personality: [There are a few words that define Rio quite accurately. Rio is selfish, violent and short tempered. A terrifying combination. The Espada is constantly on the lookout for himself. Almost anytime he does anything, it will likely have some ties to a benefit for himself, and he almost never does anything for free. Rio doesn’t particularly care for the well being of others, though he will certainly help someone if he feels that they’re better to him alive than dead. Often he will actually spare his opponent’s lives, so that they can grow in strength and challenge him again.
Speaking of which, let’s talk a bit about violence. If your problems aren’t being solved by it then you’re clearly not using enough of it. That alone sums up Rio’s stance on violence. He is incredibly violent when enraged and he is VERY easily enraged. His violent personality, coupled with this trait, has meant that many unfortunate people have met a most unpleasant end due to fairly minor transgressions against Rio. He loves inflicting violence on others, and takes any violence done to him as a challenge. He revels in combat, and, as mentioned above, often takes it upon himself to spare the life of his opponent for the opportunity to fight them again, particularly if they should prove some degree of potential. Weak foes however are often dispatched without a second thought.
Rio hates the idea of servitude. He will only serve others as a means to an end. In this case, the reason he will not debate most orders given by higher ranking Espada, is because he understands that they are stronger than him, and therefore he is much less likely to be killed backtalking them. This forms a curious little tier, with Rio gradually becoming more and more belligerent towards orders as the gap in power narrows. In fact, Rio will outright ignore any command given to him by the Quinta or lower. This said, he is still respectful to the other Espada, acknowledging their feats of power, and even if they are weaker than him, will give due credit to the impressive accomplishment of becoming one of the ten strongest arrancar—which Rio sees as the most powerful of all races. Just because he does not take orders from them doesn’t mean he doesn’t respect them. Rio respects strength no matter who wields it, shinigami, human or arrancar.
Rio is well known for having an extremely short temper, which complements his violent personality. Although he is normally in a state of either perpetual amusement or boredom with what goes on around him, the smallest of things can trigger his temper, such as someone bumping into without apologizing. At this, Rio can fly into a rage. If hell hath no fury like a woman scored, then scorned women ought to flee in terror from an angered Rio Demoniogalgo. If enraged, Rio typically doesn’t use any tactical planning or the like. He simply becomes a force of wanton destruction, not caring if what he destroys is ally or enemy. Everything dies. It’s a short trigger, and when it’s pulled, everyone dies. Thinking of taking advantage of this rage can be foolhardy, as one may attempt an attack, only to be hit by a far more devastating blow from Rio who is no longer caring about defence.
But Rio’s not always a hilarious murdering psychopath. As previously mentioned, his default state of being seems to be consistently that of either perpetual boredom or amusement, as Rio is both easily amused and easily bored. If that seems contradictory, it’s because it is. Rio flips between the two with such frequency that one would be amazed to learn that he is not, in fact, bipolar. When he is amused, it is slightly harder to cause Rio to become angry, though saying this is equivalent to saying that hanging is a slightly less pleasant way of dying that decapitation. It doesn’t say that much. However, when he is not able to do anything, Rio’s boredom will reach a peak that he may go out and kill something just to try and cure it. He doesn’t seem to acknowledge any other form of recreation. He even foregoes training, though he kills and fights so often that he gains experience consistently regardless.
Rio has a very sadistic sense of humor. He finds death, blood and violence absolutely hysterical, even if he’s on the receiving end of it. Get angry at him and cut off his ear? Hilarious (by the way, start running, you’re about to die). Impale him through the belly? Hysterical (Again, start running, he’s gonna be on you in ten seconds or less). Have him smash your face through solid concrete? Well, now you’re on your way to comedic gold. Rio can’t understand when others don’t get his sense of humor.
Amazingly, despite all of these tendencies Rio’s a social character. Because he gets bored easily, he is constantly seeking the company of others to alleviate that boredom. Often times he will refrain from killing people when socializing with them so that he won’t return to that state of boredom. Rio’s life really seems to always be about keeping himself from being bored, and entertained. So if someone is able to keep the Espada entertained for awhile, than they’re more than worth keeping alive, in Rio’s mind. What entertains Rio aside from violence varies, though as a social drinker, a bit of sake on hand never hurts. Really, if you give him sake, you can probably keep his interest through almost any topic.
However, Rio should never be taken as simple. While certainly straight-forward and looking to the easiest solution, Rio is fully capable of planning things out, and can be quite manipulative. He is aware he comes off as simple and brash to others. This is because he wants to come off that way, and so he makes use of this at times, allowing him to manipulate those around him without them suspecting. He will often go far to propagate his image as a simple minded, fight-hungering psychopath because it means others are much more likely to underestimate him. That said, it doesn’t mean he isn’t a violent psychopath, because he is. But there’s a fine line between a rampaging violent psychopath, and a calculating one, and Rio is undoubtedly the latter.]
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-Powers-
Fighting Style: [Rio’s fighting style can be summed up in a word. Aggressive. When possible, Rio prefers to simply rush and overwhelm an opponent’s defenses with a series of vicious hand to hand attacks. Indeed, he prefers hand to hand fighting to his zanpakuto. As a Spartan soldier in life, Rio is extremely well versed in Pankration, which he has further improved upon during his lifetime. That is to say, his punches are not just powerful, but focused and devastating. When attacking, he will often rush quickly into a clinching position, and begin devastating opponents with crushing knee blows and headbutts. Rio should never be mistaken for a mere brawler, who relies entirely on brute force to get him through a battle. If an opponent suddenly begins holding their own in such a fighting position, which is often unfamiliar to most shinigami, he will utilize judo like throws to take his opponents down, and then crush their bones, using various locks. As Rio prefers a close quarter’s battle, he will often use throws, disarms, and locks to disable an armed opponent. Indeed, when sealed, Rio is actually a powerful anti-close quarter’s fighter. But he is an Espada, so he has not often deprived himself against ranged combat.
When confronting an opponent at a distance beyond a quick rushing distance, Rio will often use Sonido in rapid succession and combine it with Bala and Cero’s. This onslaught of brutal attacks will often disrupt opponent’s enough that they will be unable to mount an efficient or effective counterattack as he rushes in, and he will often catch them just as they begin to recover from his distance fighting, giving him an upper hand in the ensuing close quarter combat. However, this area of combat is where he is notably the weakest, and so the most effective strategy against Rio is to steer well clear of him and attempt to take him down from outside the range of his powerful physical blows.
Perhaps his weakness, would be either a well trained master of kido, though the skill level of someone who could adeptly hold him at a distance, would be an extremely high ranking member of the former kido corps, or one who is extremely adept at distance fighting, and maintaining distance (such as a high level Quincy). One way to at least level the playing field is to be an adept hand to hand combatant, and have more than a passing knowledge of clinches, throws and grappling in general. This would allow a foe to potentially escape Rio’s grasp and escape back to a safer distance. Nonetheless, it cannot be stressed enough how bad of an idea it is to try and fight Rio in a head-on confrontation unless his opponent vastly outclasses him.
Rio's greatest strength, however, is in combating weapon users, particularly fighters of sword, axe and spear disciplines. He is an expert in disarming opponents whether barehanded or using his Sai, though he greatly prefers the latter method, due to the damage he can inflict on his opponents as he does so. As such, unless one is highly trained in defending against disarms, Rio will likely be able to disarm his opponent even if they were a higher level than himself, stressing the importance of having a good knowledge of hand to hand combat when facing this Espada up close.
As a result of his affections towards CQC, Rio’s zanpakuto takes to form of dual Sai. And when he pulls them out, he is no less deadly than when he was barehanded. Instead, he becomes far more dangerous. He is still best oriented against weapon wielding foes, as he is able to use the Sai to completely trap an opponent’s weapon, and even disarm them. He is fond of using stunts with the Sai to mix them with his hand to hand. For example, he may flip the Sai in the air to momentarily draw a foes attention, then punch them or slam them to the ground. He uses various stunts like that to momentarily distract a foe. But to a fighter of his caliber, a moment’s distraction is all he needs. When using the Sai he moves to quickly finish an opponent. If the opponent’s defense is too strong, he will move on to weakening the defense. He may do this by aiming to disable an opponent’s legs or arms, or striking at their eyes to blind them. His Sai strikes are lightning fast, and absolutely devastating. Although his Sai’s center prong is relatively dull, his superhuman strength enables him to produce far more force with it, and can punch holes in foes with them, regardless.
Rio appears most fond of grappling attacks, compared to striking ones, and is well versed in takedowns and throws derived from Pankration. Rio enjoys taking battles to the ground and breaking an opponent's bones. He is not above fighting dirty either, quite free to eye gouge, throw sand, strike at the groin, fish hook, bite or even pull his opponent's hair if he feels it will give him an advantage in battle. As well as aggressive, the word "brutal" also suits his fighting style. Rio gives no mercy to most of his opponents and will pound them into a quivering, bloody mess if given the opportunity.
His fighting style has a final edge to it. His released state. This state is enormous, and often works best for intimidation, but Rio still possesses ample bite to back up his bark (no pun intended). In his released state, his policy of all out aggression does not change, however, even the best of hand to hand fighters will find it almost impossible to even hurt him, and likewise for weapon wielders. Generally, he attacks with powerful body blows in his released state, using his newfound strength to simply clobber anyone unlucky enough to get hit. He operates on the idea of a single hit win in his released state, and is capable of it as well. Because of the vast increase in mass, Rio is capable of hitting foes with enough force that even one blow may be enough to end a battle. He becomes fond of using Cero to create massive waves of destruction, obliterating any opposition.
Rio is not much a team player though. Fighting in a tag-team fight with Rio is not very adviseable, as he will attack without discretion, paying minimal mind to keeping his allies out of the line of fire. As such, the safest place to be when fighting alongside Rio is long range support, staying as far away from the Espada as possible, lest you be caught by accident. Rio really wouldn’t care if he hit his ally instead of his enemy, though he’ll at least not make an effort of attacking his ally. As mentioned above though, this doesn’t mean he’ll make an effort not to not hit them either.
An important factor to take into account with Rio, however, is his "fascination" if not outright fear of fire. Depending on the strength of the foe he faces, if his foe were a fire wielder, Rio will take one of two approaches. A weak fire user will see even less mercy from Rio than usual, and against such a foe, Rio will ignore any and all attacks directed at his person in an attempt to obliterate this foe as quickly as possible, attacking wildly, desperately, but viciously like a cornered beast. However, if the foe proves to be more powerful than Rio, he will likely tuck tail and run away as quickly as he can. Fire is his greatest fear, and his approach to dealing with them shows this very clearly. The exception to this rule would be the Captain-Commander that instilled this fear in him originally, to which he would attack with a vicious abandon and an insatiable bloodlust-- but alas, that man is no longer alive (though regrettably, it was not by Rio's hand that he left this world).
Despite all of the above, Rio is not a tactical dunce. His long lifetime of fighting has gifted him with considerable intuition and he is capable of analyzing an opponent’s strengths and weaknesses rapidly, and adjusting his fighting style to match. Though he prefers to merely rush in and pound an opponent, taking a blow or two in the process if he must, Rio is not stupid and will not blindly charge if he thinks the risk is too great.
A unique ability of Rio, is his “shockwave” power. Although other arrancar, and even a few shinigami are capable of displacing air in an offensive manner with sheer strength, Rio has actually developed this into its own unique technique. Rio is capable of producing two types of shockwaves with raw physical strength and training. His focused shockwaves can be launched like projectiles varying between the size of his fist and a beach ball depending on the precision Rio wants. The focused shockwaves hit as hard as a punch from Rio, in a sense, allowed the Espada to literally utilize long range punches, with a maximum range of up to about one hundred meters. His secondary form of shockwave is an unfocused shockwave, generated by Rio flexing or tensing his muscles quickly, producing a very short range shockwave (no further than three feet) typically used to deflect or block physical attacks. The unfocused shockwaves are only about half as powerful as Rio’s focused shockwaves. These shockwaves, unfortunately cannot intercept or defend against reiatsu based attacks such as kido, though they can put out fire. They are functionally invisible, as the only indication of their presence is a vague rippling in the air, that cannot be seen by anyone with less than 150 in senses. ]
Zanpakutou Appearances: [When sealed, Rio’s zanpakuto takes the form of a pair of Sai that he wears at his waist. The Sai have a green and silver pattern made from silk covering the handles, and the actual metal of the Sai is chrome steel, that gleams brightly in the light. Each Sai is surprisingly heavy—each weighing nearly 10 pounds each, yet Rio wields them as though they were light as air. Each Sai is about 20” in length, each handle being about 7 inches long and the Sai’s center prong being about 13 inches. Each of the outside prongs reaches about halfway up the center prongRio is quite adept at using the outside prongs to catch and trap an opponent’s weapon, and even uses them to disarm the opponent. Also, because of the pointed tips on the outside prongs, they may be used offensively.
Surprisingly, unlike most Sai, the outside prongs are actually sharpened into points. This can take many different foes off guard. Due to Sai normally being completely blunt weapons, it may take a foe by surprise that these are capable of piercing damage, as well as bludgeoning damage. It may also surprise those who are only familiar with Hollywood’s Sai that Rio’s seem to be blunt at a first glance, and draw them into a false sense of security, not knowing their intended purpose. However, because of Rio’s strength, the lack of a point on the main prong isn’t an issue, as Rio is strong enough that he can punch the Sai through a target regardless. And of course, the long side prongs enable them to be efficient trapping and disarming weapons. The hilt is tipped with a steel crystal, with a pointed end facing down, allowing Rio to flip the Sai around and attack with their hilts as well, to perform devastating blows to an opponent.
Upon releasing, Rio’s reiatsu surges immensely and he begins to grow. His ultimate form is hidden by his reiatsu, but when at last his flaring reiatsu dies down, in his place is a monstrous being. Standing forty feet in height at the shoulder, and weighing in excess of 10 tonnes, Rio takes the form of the Greek guardian of the underworld, Cerberus. Three massive snarling heads hover above his foes, and a green ethereal light, complete with a strange mist emanates from his throats, the mist hissing out from between his teeth, even when clenched. His body is a massive single piece of corded muscle, with reddish fur.
His tail is replaced with the head of a venemous cobra. His teeth can near three feet in length—the size of a shinigami’s sword and his claws are even longer, capable of shredding his smaller foes with ease. His eyes are now gleaming orange balls, and almost appear to hold flames within them, filled with rage. His serpentine tail, fangs and claws have the same hardness as a zanpakuto, and are very difficult to damage.]
Zanapkutou Release Names [Attack Cerberus!]
Overall Ability: [Most of Cerberus’s powers are derived from its form—namely the fact that it is not only much larger than Rio’s sealed form, but has additional heads. The immense increase in mass amplifies Rio’s physical strength to unbelievable heights, and the larger stride afforded by his much longer legs now, allows him to cover ground much more quickly than in his sealed form, even if his proportionate speed is unchanged. The four heads can band together as well, to massively amplify the power of Rio’s reiatsu attacks, and he can exude the virulent mists that spill from his jaws in a devastating attack.]
Primera Etapa Overall Ability: [Rio’s additional heads and vast size augment his physical strength, speed, and senses. Due to his vastly increased mass and muscle size, Rio’s strength increases to an incredible degree. In his Ressurection, Rio’s strength is doubled. This makes him vastly more powerful than nearly any foe he might fight. In addition, his four heads grant him enhanced sensory abilities, capable of much higher senses of smell and hearing, increasing his Senses stat by 200%. The final change is not an immediately noticeable one, but an obvious one. During Ressurection, because of his immense size, Rio can cover ground much faster than in his sealed form, as a single step from him can cover the distance that a normal sized human would require dozens to equal. As a result, Rio possesses a travel speed equal to double his speed stat. However, this speed increase does not apply to reaction speed, only speed in regards to covering distance. Rio cannot react any faster than he could normally, meaning if an attack was too fast for him to react before his release, it is still too fast for him to react.
Rio is able to use his three Canine heads to amplify his reiatsu to far greater heights than in his sealed form.
Despite the vast power increase, there are a few important notes to keep in mind. The first is that Rio’s enhanced Sensory is easily undermined by the sensory deprivation during Plague Winds, and rendered virtually useless during the technique. The second major limitation is mentioned above. Although Rio can move faster, he cannot react any faster, meaning an opponent that is quick enough that he could not react to them in his sealed state can still attack with impunity, with Rio being unable to react.
It also has a very glaring, and simple drawback. He’s forty damn feet tall. He may be faster, but he is by no means harder to hit. In fact, he’s probably a lot easier to hit, due to his massive size, making haymaker-style attacks particularly effective (Example: Hado 99—while a normal sized human may be able to avoid most of the lightning bolts, with his massive size, Rio will likely be subject to being hit by dozens of them, thus being subject to far greater damage). This makes Rio highly vulnerable to difficult to aim techniques, or point and click techniques with major payoffs.
]
Segunda Etapa Overall Ability (Optional): [N/a]
Zanpakuto Techniques: [
Treinta: A more versatile technique, this technique is composed of Rio fusing together three Cero-type abilities, and firing an attack with 2 to 3 times the reiatsu strength of the user (based on whether or not 2 or 3 heads fire the Cero). This technique is not treated as a release-type ability, and therefore, the reiatsu spent is counted under an arrancar’s “infinite reserves.” It is possible to combine multiple Cero for various results depending on the Cero combined, though if done so, the Cero’s level will default to the lowest level (ie. If a level 5, 8 and 6 Cero is fired, the Cero will be classified as a level 8).
Drawbacks: Rio cannot fire another Cero type attack during his following post. Additionally, costs reiatsu equal to the original technique x3. Rio is only capable of firing either Bala with this or Cero of level 5 or lower (that is, level 5-9 Cero).
Plague winds—A simple attack that consists of Rio exhaling the virulent mists from his mouth in a forceful burst. Their qualities are the same as when they are in his jaws, and they will spread out from his maw in a wide area around him, and will not dissipate for several minutes (1-3 posts following the initial one, depending on how many of Rio’s canine heads contributed).
The mists are extremely acidic and will completely dissolve any organic material they touch (a.k.a. people and plants) in a matter of seconds. Clothing will be dissolved just as quickly. Natural defences like Hierro will not offer any defences against this ability, due to the fact that although Hierro hardens the skin against this, the skin remains organic and will be dissolved by the acid regardless. However, most non-organic constructs (metal and stone, namely), will dissolve at a much slower rate than organic objects requiring several minutes to even dissolve small quantities of this material.
The mist will gradually spread to cover a very broad range. At its highest point (nearest Rio) the cloud can raise thirty feet off the ground and cover up to 200 meters in all directions from its source. It is notable that this mist will corrode non-organic objects much more slowly than organic objects, but will still flow around them. So while someone might use a piece of rubble to stay above the mist, they could not use it to hide from it.
The speed of the mist’s spread is roughly equal to 25% of Rio’s strength stat.
The cobra head that serves as Rio’s tail has its own individual variant of this attack, in which is spits a large glob of poisonous saliva at a target, with similar corrosive properties, but which travels at a speed equal to half of Rio’s strength stat (though does not gain the area of effect prowess offered by the canine heads).
Weaknesses: The mist, as mentioned above, is weak at destroying non-organic matter. Once outside of Rio's mouth it is at the mercy of the winds. A strong gale can blow and disperse the mist vastly, making it considerably less dangerous. It is lighter than water, so it will not affect anything that is underneath water either.
Although this technique will not affect Rio's reiatsu or harm him directly (due to it being his own breath), it does drastically affect his senses. Plague Winds will reduce Rio's sensory stats by 2/3, as an acrid odor that emanates from it blocks out Rio's sense of smell, and due to try to find targets within the mist, may overlook them. Even his snake head's senses are reduced as it can only taste the acrid air, until the Plague Winds clears (1-3 posts after the use of Plague Winds, depending on how many of Rio's canine heads contributed to the attack).
The Cobra head’s variation does not suffer the above drawbacks, but has its own limitations. Unlike the mist form of the attack, it is possible to block or intercept the Cobra head’s Plague Wind attack with barriers or destroy it with reiatsu attacks.
A limitation of the technique is that the further it gets from the source (ie. Rio), the lower the mist rises, falling at a rate of half a meter vertically, per meter gained, to a minimum of ten feet high.
Apocalypse: This is Rio’s most formidable attack. Rio fires a beam from each of his three mouths into the sky. The beams converge into a gigantic ball of Reiatsu and blast a second, much larger beam down to a targeted location, where it erupts in a tremendous explosion.
Limitations: The power of the attack is entirely dependant upon how much reiatsu he uses to perform it. Essentially, Apocalypse possesses the strength of a Gran Rey Cero. However, it is not necessarily scaled on Rio’s strength. Rather, it is scaled on the power of how much reiatsu Rio puts into it at a 1:2 ratio. For example, if Rio uses up 400 reiatsu to perform it, it will have the power of a Gran Rey Cero fired by someone with 800 Reiatsu strength. Conversely, were he to use up 1000 Reiatsu to perform it, his attack would have comparable Reiatsu strength to someone with a reiatsu strength of 2000 firing a Gran Rey Cero.
The explosion produced by the attack is likewise based on the amount of reiatsu utilized, and is equivalent in meters, to the amount of reiatsu used for it. A blast that uses only 100 reiatsu will only expand 100 meters. However, a blast with 1000 will expand to 1000 meters! The speed of the beam and the speed at which the explosion expands is equal to 200% of the reiatsu used to launch the attack! Rio is immune to both the blast and the explosion.
Drawbacks: With such a potentially devastating move, there are obviously some drawbacks. The first and foremost drawback, is that upon the conclusion of this technique Rio’s resurrection will instantly end, regardless of how much reiatsu was used, or how long Rio has been in Release. Furthermore, following the ending of the release, Rio will be incapable techniques except for Sonido for 5 posts, as his body recovers from using this technique. Even his shockwaves will not be useable.
Additionally, although the attack itself can be fast, the set-up is not. It requires a full post to prepare, with the attack immediately commencing at the beginning of Rio’s next post.
