Taien was happily watching all of this sparring, demonstration, and learning that was going on. However, it seemed that the Sho demonstration was over for the moment. Taien had another question to ask, however, he waited to see if Manabu-Sensei was done with the topic of Sho first. He might have more things to say after all. Anyways, after that, Taien decided to ask another question. Ergo, he raised his hand again.
"Oya oya, Manabu-Sensei, do you have any practical applications for the eleventh Hado, Tsuzuri Raiden, and the thirty-seventh Bakudo, Tsuriboshi?"
Taien was wondering whether there were any more applications for these kido other than stopping you from falling, or enhancing your blade with lightning.

At this point hara probably seemed pretty bored, this was all things that he had either already heard about or knew how to do himself. He was not quite sure of the legitimicy of this meeting in a time like this. Surely there had to be better things to be doing in this time of constant activity by Arrancar forces. Seirretei was not at peace, as it ussually is not. and they where simply here learning how to combine simple kido together and bakudo together. Sure it could be helpful but what would be better in the long run right now? Hara was not feeling in a particularly ass hole mood so he decided to try to put it nicely. "so not to be rude to this gathering, but what good is this going to do against the stronger arrancar exactly? He asked in a very normal tone as to not give off his dis content of what he felt was wasting time that could be used to train with new kido and Zanpakutou skills.

"I am pleased and honored to have input from a captain, and this is a legitimate question. I have demonstrated alternative use of several kido over the course of the lecture. The first was a new use of kyakko, curving light."
Manabu suddenly appeared at the back of the crowd. Apparently he actually cast it when he said the name. He turned around and walked back up to the lectern while speaking.
"Our intelligence indicates that Kuroi Naito, the Segunda Espada, said to be the strongest, does not have exceptional reiatsu sensing capabilities. The benefit of supplying him with a false target is undeniable."
Now he broke the kido and reappeared further away from the crowd and lectern, the distance he walked to have his image stand at the lectern. Now the real Manabu walked back over.
"Misdirection is the bread and butter of war, but we do not live on bread and butter. We also discussed shakkaho and sokatsui, but not at length. These are more destructive kido, but using them just to pummel an opponent is like swinging a sword only up and down. They have the power to distract and deflect as well as destroy. I should point out that one should not expect to leave this lecture and apply these ideas in combat. One should leave this lecture and begin training and thinking about one's abilities to eventually apply to combat.
On that note, I will address Taien-senpai's question. Lucious-taicho, may I please ask you to punch me somewhat casually? Actually, for my safety, please make it in the stomach. Kansatsu, Shonen."
Well, hopefully Lucious-taicho would enjoy this. He was being asked to help! Meanwhile, Manabu unsheathed his zanpakuto, Shonen, which was now coiling around his torso in a green glowing transformation. Manabu was now wearing a thick, steel plate over his abdomen with an inscription.

"From ALL my teachers I grew wise."

Aww. Okay...so the demonstration ended. "You made a great volunteer dummy~" she whispered to the third seat, poking fun at him. The mock empress continued to fan herself with a small smirk. There was one thought that ran throughout her mind right now. "Kurohitsugi. Sho. Kurohitsugi. Sho. Kurohitsugi. Sho. Kurohitsugi~" One track mind...It was a wonderful thing, ne?
"so not to be rude to this gathering, but what good is this going to do against the stronger arrancar exactly?" Rin rolled her eyes. Uh, yes. You're being perfectly rude. Why can't people listen before acting? This Kido thing is actually helpful. Rin had a bit of experience in terms of dealing with arrancar. Also, 'a bit' can be used lightly. She'd fought Kouen, the strongest of the Segunda's Fraccion. He was rather strong and in terms of skill he defeated her and she accepted it. If you have the right skills and you're a quick thinker, then you shouldn't have a problem. Kido just aid you. They give you that necessary boost you'll need in a tight spot. Of course, those were only Rin's thoughts on it. Ah~ well, what can you do? On to the demonstration!

Hara at this point felt like something was going to happen that was going to make him look like a fool. Surely in a straight up fight he could beat this man. However in this demonstration Hara was going to end up looking like the fool. He let out a brief sigh before walking up infront of everyone sucking up his own pride for the sake of the "session". He turned towards Manabu as he looked at him, upon looking at where he was aiming his Zanpakutou was not coiled around his stomach. Hara brought his fist back and threw a casual punch at the gut of Manabu waiting to see what he was demonstrating for the audience.

Kaen winked at Rin. "Arigato. I've had plenty of practice." He joked to her, as he passed her, taking his seat. He heard the exciteable kid start asking questions again, which made Kaen smile-- only to be interrupted by the captain in the audience, causing Kaen to raise an eyebrow. Hoo boy. This was gonna be very interesting, he expected. Brock responded by asking the captain to come up for the next demonstration. Kaen grinned at the events as though anticipating some great mischief that he was about to enjoy.
He could see the captain was holding back when his fist snapped out towards Brock. Now... what's going to happen now... Kaen thought, fingers twitching on his desk in anticipation. Not perhaps at the demonstration itself, but at the fact that a captain was involved in it. Oh... Oh but Kaen was just so interested! Why was a captain used for this demonstration. Regardless, Kaen could pick out from the captain's attitude this wasn't likely to go very well for Brock if the instructor wasn't careful.

As the Captain's fist reared, Manabu acted.
"Tsuriboshi!" Suddenly, the large, blue, cushiony kido manifested itself directly in front of Manabu, and Lucious-taicho's fist came careening into it. The was a resounding yet muffled CLANG and Manabu was cast backward. He flew for a bit, landed, and rolled. Casual though it was, that was a punch from a Captain of the Gotei 13. He sat up after he stopped rolling.
"Arigato-gozaimasu, Lucios-taicho! Now, please, could you punch this gigai with the same force?!" Manabu was shouting since he was a little further away now, and he wanted to make sure people could still hear. At that, someone in the front row stood up and removed his overcoat and hat. This must be the gigai to which Manabu referred. Manabu actually designed this gigai himself initially to help him develop his reiastu needles and their application. This gigai had transparent skin and an unusual looking interior. Everything was designed to clearly show the various functions and flows and how they were affected by various stimuli. He walked up to the spot on which Manabu stood. The suspending star had already disappeared. Now that he was facing the crowd, they would see he was prepared with an identical steel plate, just without the inscription.
The gigai stood there without expression and waited for Lucious to punch him. Well, punch him he did with just the same force as before. This time there was no tsuriboshi.
CLANG
The gigai flew over Manabu and continued even after that before hitting the ground and rolling. When he stopped he was significantly farther away. At that, Manabu got up and walked back to his lectern.
"Arigato-gozaimasu, once again, Lucious-taicho. I could have told you about the cushioning effect with which we are generally familiar and its usefulness in reducing the impact of an incoming attack, but I believe this demonstration is more effective and hopefully more convincing. As for tsuzuri raiden, one just needs to be creative. A skilled unarmed combatant could simply electrocute an opponent. During a sword lock, I would use it to run a current from my sword to my opponent's. It's funny you should mention these two kido together though. I could have simply moved to the side and used tsuzuri raiden on the star itself, thereby shocking Lucious-taicho, but I do not wish to actually harm anyone during the lecture, least of all an honorable man like our Taicho. With mastery, I believe one can make the tsuriboshi sticky enough to hold an enemy at least for a little bit, during which time one can expose him to more of the tsuzuri raiden current. There's really much more to be said about these kido, but there are, I hope, more questions to address."

"Oya oya! Thank you Brock-Sensei, but tell me; Couldn't another use for Tsuzuri Raiden during an unarmed struggle, one could use this Hado to either disrupt a persons nervous system for a while, if it was strong enough of course. On another note, couldn't this also be used to channel a constant stream of electricity into the heart of the opponent, there by stopping their heart? I guess you could also use it to jump start another persons heart if you used it correctly like that as well. . . Oh, right! Couldn't this be used further to disrupt someones brain, or simply fry it, with direct crainial contact? I guess you could also use it in a way to torture someone, I can't imagine that being blasted by a constant flow of lightning will be very pleasent."
Taien had just unleashed a variable storm of questions and possible other applications of the Kido as well. It seemed he was learning from this after all! As someone once said, a good teacher teaches his students, while a good student teaches his teachers. And he still wasn't done.
"I assume if someone was strong enough and had mastered the technique, they could maintain a constant electric charge in combat, transmitting bursts of lightning into the opponent with each strike, whether they blocked or not. Of course, this is just theory."
Taien then noticed he had been talking for a while, and that it shifted from asking questions, to talking about theories he had.
"Hahahaha. . . oya oya, sorry for the interuption. Brock-Sensei."
Taien said as he sat down again.

Manabu said nothing but stood with furrowed brow. He was thinking now. The entire world fell away from him. Everyone else would see him now stroking his beard. They all waited for some sort of response. Was he angry for all the questions? What was going on inside this person?
"Come here, quickly!" Was he talking to Taien now? He wasn't really looking at him. What was so urgent all of the sudden? It became clear who was supposed to come as the skinless gigai came racing over.
"Your arm." With that the gigai raised his arm and put it towrads Manabu. Meanwhile, Brock was looking at his thumb and index finger, which he was holding together. Green reiatsu started to shoot out between them. It lengthened and thinned itself until it held the form of a needle. This he stuck into the gigai's arm, which caused some lines of light to dim and even go out. Manabu held the needle in place there.
"Tsuzuri Raiden." There was an audible spark and current with a small flicker accompanying. The gigai's arm began to shake a bit, and many more lights went out while others further away dimmed. Manabu withdrew the needle, and the arm returned to normal. He held up the needle for a moment to see it still sparking before driving it into the left side of the gigai's chest where the heart was clearly indicated. The beating became erratic and lights began to react all over the body. Soon the entire body was dark. Manabu removed the needle, and the body returned to normal.
"Walk over there."
"Sho."
The tiny, green projectile leapt out of Manabu's fingers. It sparked a little and singed a few air molecules as it went. It found its mark in the gigai's chest once again. There was another violent reaction, but it was less than the first. The heartbeat became erratic, and lights went out here and there. Even though there was full system damage, some lights remained on. Manabu walked over, placed a finger over the puncture site, and removed the needle.
Manabu stood in silent contemplation for a bit more before he remembered where he was and what he was doing. He cleared his throat.
"Um, yes. As for maintaining a current, I remind you that the kido runs electricity though something else, not the user. I would not recommend trying to run a current through yourself. Um... I seem to have lost track of... everything. Did I answer your question?"
"Arigato. I've had plenty of practice." She returns your wink with a smirk!...Wait. Did this mean he knew how to use kido? Rin (I still stand by this. Aha.) was kido-challenged. The empress was lazy and took her zanpakuto's ability for granted; to have any weapon she desired. Swords, knives, bombs, mines...all of it! She didn't see why she needed kido...until now. This was rather helpful stuff after all. Orange eyes watched the demonstration intently as she continued to fan herself...albeit rather furiously. The people on either side of her shot strange looks at her. Hell, the people behind her might do the same. The raven-haired Vice Captain was soaking up every bit of information like a sponge. It was like she discovered a whole new world!
...Ooh. Disney song. Wait! What's this?! This...this clang. Where did it come from? Ne~ Wasn't it...Tsuriboshi? Hmm. Interesting. Interesting indeed. She liked Kurohitsugi and Sho better though. Those were the cool kido....but Tsuriboshi was worth learning too. "...Ne, Kaen-san. Do you know any kido?" she asked, purely out of curiosity. Well, he said he had practice! Rin was seriously expecting Kurohitsugi to show up here. She wanted to learn that! Sho too...Wait! What's this? A new one? Tsu...zur..i Raiden? She could see a spark. A small one..but Rin had hawk eyes. She could see everything. Especially the damage it did to that gigai. When Brock stabbed that needle in its heart, it was like a mini light show. It was almost as if he shoved a taser gun into the gigai. Okay. She needed to learn Tsuzuri Raiden too!

Out in the crowd Hara spotted a Vice captain that he had yet to meet, He decided he would go and introduce him self. He was not even sure what squad she was in wich was a surprise to him, He had met nearly every other captain or vice captain of the Gotei 13, or so he thought. He shunpoed over to her and the male she was talking to as he appeared suddenly beside them bother. His Captain Robes brushing from side to side slightly from his movement. He looked at them both and waited to see what they would say about his sudden appearance.

Kaen watched Rin's reply and in reply to her question, an anime sweatdrop appeared on the back of his head. "Ha... me? Kido? Aiyaa.... I know kido. The theory at any rate. But I can't use any of it. My attempts at kido are more dangerous to myself than to my enemy." He admitted to her. "I haven't tried my hand at it in close to.... oh, I guess a couple decades, ever since I just about blew off my own arm just trying to perform Sho..." He confessed.
At that point the demonstrations continued as Manabu blasted the gigai around a bit more. Kaen admittedly found it a little less impressive than the Sho demonstrations, perhaps because he couldn't apply this nearly as well into combat. Some of the other stuff, yes, but this was useless to Kaen. But his train of thought was interrupted by the appearance of the captain beside them. Kaen looked the man over. "Hello there Lucious-taichou." He said quite calmly, as though it was a common occurrence for captains to approach Kaen. While this was no longer true, it had been true at an earlier time, as Kaen had recieved personalized instruction and combat training from a number of captains more than a hundred years prior.

I haven't tried my hand at it in close to.... oh, I guess a couple decades, ever since I just about blew off my own arm trying to perform Sho..." Hmph. Maybe she should ask the captain for hee---Nonononono...She can't to to him! He'd torture her about it. Rin even thought about what would happen if she got it wrong. He'd sneak her paper work into it too. Ughhhhh! He'd ruin her empressy life! Ne~!!!!!......Good gracious. She was doomed to be the only Vice Captain in all of Soul Society who didn't know a single darn thing about kido. All 'cause she was too lazy!
Hm. "At least you've got the theory, ne?", she fanned herself at a slower pace this time. "I. Don't. Know. A. S---" Here she was, about to confess something she thought was extremely embarrassing and looked down upon for someone in her position...and someone just had to interrupt. Not that she really minded per say...she just didn't any of the other captains to know that the mock empress shinigami didn't know a single thing about Kido. Rin felt that reiatsu approaching her. A captain's reiatsu. She immediately shut up. "Hello there Lucious-taichou." Rin turned to face the captain. He was still a higher rank than her. She had to respect him. "Hello Lucious-taichou~" she greeted with a smile. Of course she could tell who he was right off the bat. The robes said everything. "How do you do?" she asked, simply making conversation. She'd never met him formally, but she did hear of him.

Hara looked at them both as a warm smile came across his face, His expression going into that of a calm collective state. "Your full of questions and you seem to be afraid to ask questions beacuse of your rank, an intresting pair. Perhaps the both of you would like to train under me for a time?" admititly he just wanted to get to know the vice captain, however he also really did want to help out the third seat Shinigami beacuse he seemed eager to learn. Those two reason alone where good enough for him to make the offer, It was one that would be crazy to pass up, Personal training from a captain, Who could ask for better?

"There seems to be a lull in the questioning, so I will proceed to another kido about which I've mused. This kido is famous for being the pinnacle of defensive kido. I'm speaking now of Bakudo #81. Danku. Severing Void. It can stop the vast majority of attacks. However, the name "severing void" has always seemed unusual to me. I need to study it in much greater detail. Today, I'd like your help in performing an experiment. Will someone capable of using Danku please come forward?"
Manabu looked out across the crowd now and hoped to see someone get up. Unfortunately, neither the Captain, Vice Captain, nor Third Seat knew danku. In fact, the three of them knew maybe a third as much kido as they should. Hopefully someone else would rise to the occasion.
