"Oi, oi." The voice of the male resonated out, him leaping up onto the scene. Zieg had been there for quite a time, just silently listening to the lecture. Sure, even though he was in squad 11, Zieg enjoyed his kido. He had a large amount of kido learned currently, basically having the most learned out of his entire squad. The male currently was wearing his black, sleeveless, vice captain uniform along with his white and black spotted, bowl-cut hat. Zieg so far had enjoyed Brock's lecture and performance of the meeting, and now Zieg had a chance to partake in such an event. He faced the male with his eerie smile, a mellow look in his sea blue eyes. "Come, throw your strongest kido at me and I will demonstrate the power of Danku." Zieg jeered, beckoning the seated officer forward with a gesture of his right hand. Clearly, he was ready to participate in the lecture.

Taien, who had not answered yet, was busily writing stuff down. He had three full pages of notes, and was working on a fourth. . . Geez this guy wrote fast. It was legible to.
"Oya oya! Thank you, Manabu-Sensei!"
Taien called out after he was done. After a demonstration or two more, Taien would be ready with his notes. Actually he was going to give Manabu a copy of them. It was all really complicated Kido work, spell formulas, Reitsu theory, and various applications. However, Manabu, being the scholar he was, could probably easily deciper it. The reason Taien knew all of this stuff already was because Reti-Sensei was hammering it into his head every day.

"Revolver-fukutaicho! Thank you so much for attending! I must say I didn't see you back there. However, I will not be asking you to deflect an attack. After all, this is a workshop on alternative tactics. I must ask you to come up here to the lectern in order to perform this experiment."
Manabu reached under the lectern and brought up... AN APPLE! This he placed on the lectern for all to see. What might he be doing with this apple and danku? Would he throw it at the fukutaicho?
"Please create your barrier right here." Manabu pointed at the apple. Zieg made his way over to the lectern and looked at it quizzically. Manabu just nodded and stepped aside. Zieg took his place behind the lectern and placed his hands on either side of the apple.
"Danku." The nearly transparent, super thin barrier manifested between his hands parallel to the ground. Manabu nodded his head, and the fukutaicho dispelled the kido. It was still for a bit. Nothing really seemed to have happened. That's when Manabu reached over and grabbed the stem. He lifted his hand and took half of the apple with it. The lower half, however, remained on the lectern.
"Arigato-gozaimasu, Revolver-fukutaicho. This may seem like a worthless demonstration at first, but I believe if you think carefully you will understand the impact of this experiment."
Manabu stood silently.

Hara's appearance seemed to jolt Rin considerably, something Kaen couldn't help but grin at. He addressed Lucious with a respectful tone, though. "I must say, that would be a pleasure, Lucious-taichou. What manner of training would you have in mind? Is it brutal? Painful? Life-threatening?" He asked, seeming to become more excited with each phrase he put forwards. ...He also kind of hoped it wouldn't be kido training. THAT would be embarassing.
Oh relax. If it is kido, you're only embarassing yourself in front of a captain and your Vice Captain. What do you think I'm so concerned about?[/i] The opinion of a man whom you've never met means that much, boy?[/i] Who said I was afraid of embarassing myself in front of a captain?[/i] Hohoho... SHUT UP OLD MAN![/i] Kaen looked at Lucious with a grin though, not letting any of his dialogue with his zanpakuto show on his face. "When would we start, Lucious-taichou?"
Kaen was momentarily distracted by Brock's demonstration. While impressive, that one would be completely useless to him. Aiyaa.... Kaen couldn't even manage Sho or Sai. Severing Void was WAAAAY beyond him, so there was almost no purpose in watching.

"Your full of questions and you seem to be afraid to ask questions because of your rank, an interesting pair. Perhaps the both of you would like to train under me for a time?" Rin eyed the captain skeptically as she proceeded to fan herself. "Nihi, Rin-chan...We can kill him effortlessly. I mean...All you have to do is release~" Granted he was a Captain, but she was also the most powerful Vice-Captain right now. The empress was sure she could put up a serious fight and claim his title. She was so sure of it. Almost 100% sure. Almost. She wasn't being egotistical... It was just her opinion! "I must say, that would be a pleasure, Lucious-taichou. What manner of training would you have in mind? Is it brutal? Painful? Life-threatening?" She'd glance at Kaen from the corner of her eye. Pft. She could offer better training! Hell, Chimeiyoki's been dying to give this kid a run for his money.
W-What if it was Kido training? She didn't know a single thing. She wasn't about to let Hara find that out! The only one that was allowed to know that was Enma-taicho! Hence, his forcing her here against her will. The empress was far too vain. She had way too much pride. Then again...the bunnies...Kido was necessary. She learned that now. But she just had to learn without the bunnies. Ne...Maybe this captain could teach her something. "When would we start, Lucious-taichou?" Ne...Should she? Get tortured by bunnies....or train with another captain while being teased by your third seat which really wasn't going to stop..? "How interesting, ne~? I suppose it's worth a shot" she smiled as she sat up in her seat.
"Please create your barrier right here Barrier? What?! Rin immediately returned her attention to the demonstration. Ne!? Wa-Wasn't that..Zieg? Bad memories with that one. Eh...Whatever! He knew kido, this had to be good ,ne? Rin watched carefully. Nothing was happening?...Wait..He lifted half of the apple up?! And the bottom half was still there?! Ne! How interesting! She had to learn this one too! She had to add it to her long list of kido to learn. She simply must!

Akeru looked around at all the faces in the crowd and sighed, he was watching the lecture with patience. "You shouldn't be unhappy, This is what you excel at and love to do. My power even expands on that."He sighed and rolled his eyes, Raziel was a pain sometimes, he told him to come here and watch this lecture when his kidou knowledge was equal to that if not greater then most of the people here. Raziel told him something would be worth coming here, and he always listened to him even if he never understood. So many came to learn the art of using kidou in an innovative way. He looked up at the current demonstration with a smile, danku was just out of his reach for now. He knew, however with his shikai no one here could match him in kidou versatility.
He started to edge through the crowd, ghosting towards the Captain Vice-captain and the third seat. He felt uneasy being around this many higher-ups, though he was curious to find out what they were talking about, he wondered if they knew as much kidou as he did. He chuckled, "probably not." He said to himself as he neared, he stopped around 4 feet away from the trio and turned his eyes back to Manabu and the vice-captain who's name he didn't know. He watched them, but his ears were more intent on listening into the other three's conversation. He knew eavesdropping was bad, but he couldn't help but listen. he was curious.

Little did Akeru know that one that could matchi him Kido for Kido was in this very lecture as well. . . Getting back on point, Taien was filling up his seventh page of notes. . . this was. . . great! Taien was soaking in all the knowledge he could from this informative lecture! There were several more things he wanted/needed to see though. And then. . . Danku was used to slice through an apple?! OUTRAGEOUS!!! It was an incredably strong Kido as is, but by being able to apply it like so, it could be used as an offensive attack as well as a defence at the same time! Now. . . Taien raised his hand once more. Putting forth the next suggestion.
"Oya Oya! Manabu-Sensei, now that we've seen Bakudo used as offensive powers, would it be possible to convert a Hado into a defensive technique? Say such a Hado as the fifty-eigth, Tenran? "
Taien voiced as the loudness from the last demonstration died down. Taien sat back down shortly afterwords. For some reason, it had taken some time to process through Taien's mind that the Fukutaicho of the Seventh Division was sitting right next him. . . He must has been so engrosed in the Kido application that he tuned everything else out. . . Hahahaha. . . Taien decided that it would be good for him to introduce himself to his future Fukutaicho. After all, Taien was aiming to get into one of the strongest divisions in the Seireitei, the Seventh Division!!
"Oya oya, greetings Rin-Fukutaicho! My name is Taien Hadohou, I will be your subordinate in the future. It is a pleasure to meet you!"
Tain said possitively beaming. Taien diverted his attention back to the demonstration.

"Indeed I do, I am after all a member of the squad known for combat, so I do understand the point you are proving." Zieg stated, crossing his arms and facing the onlookers. "Manabu-san has had me demonstrate that we must be highly adept at using kido in certain situations, both offensively and defensive. As we all know, Danku is known for its incredible defensive capabilities however, as we have just witnessed, it can be used as a brutal offensive weapon if one uses it correctly. The same can go with many other kido that we have at our disposal." Zieg went on to explain to those who were watching them. Indeed, that was the point, to use kido in its own unique way. Bakudo used offensively. Hado used for defensive purposes. Plain and simple. What was next on the agenda, Zieg had no idea, so he just crossed his arms behind his back and awaited, looking over the ground. He noted that he saw another vice captain, the empress Rin, whom he has been partners with a few times now. He did not really care for her, as a fellow shinigami though he did, and also he did admit she had indeed one rocking hot body.

"Thank you very much, Revolver-fukutaicho. I am fortunate to have your attendance. Your remarks carry the eloquence and value we may expect from a Fukutaicho of the Gotei 13."
"I will answer your question briefly, Taien-senpai. Tenran creates a whirlwind that shoots forward. Its primary function is to push. That which we have discussed with Sho should be reconsidered in the context of this kido. Tenran differs in two significant ways. Sho is a single kinetic event, while Tenran is a flow. It is a constant force rather than an impact. Sho is pure kinetic energy, while Tenran is air. Once again, consider your environment. One may need to deflect a dangerous fluid. One should study the effects of air on fire. If one has a supply of oxygen and a floral opponent or obstacle, he could smother the plants. I don't wish to belabor the point.
In fact, I believe this will conclude today's lecture. I hope you have all gained something today. I know I have. I direct your attention now to the tables to your left." Everyone turned to see tables laid with afternoon fare. They had been set quietly by Academy students during the lecture. Before people started getting up for the food, pairs of students were already approaching the Captain, Vice Captains, and Third Seats. Each pair had a male holding a plate of sushi and a female with a cup of sake.
"Brock-sensei is honored by your presence this afternoon. He hopes you will sit and enjoy some refreshments."
Now there were tables and cushions set at the front where Manabu had been before. Those students sure worked fast. If any of the officers agreed, the students would set their food and drink at a place there. Manabu had instructed them to do this in the event there were officers. He even had specially prepared a plate with spicy tuna, other spicy sushi, and other tuna for Rin in case she showed up. Was it ridiculous over-preparation? Perhaps. On the other hand, here she was. Who's laughing now?!
Meanwhile, Manabu was talking to a small group that had gathered around him for points of clarification or just some kind words. Taien Hadohou would surely be among them.

Hara gave a grin of what seemed to be excitement, but was it really? he turned his head back up to the demonstration. He knew he did not know much Kido but there was a lot more that he could teach these two. along with the Kido that he knew. He looked back at them as he began to talk, however if one looked closely he could see that he was looking beyond them, not in a rude way, his eyes focused on someone off in the distane not to far though. "Training would begin whenever you feel you are ready for it. it may be grueling or it may not be, so make sure to come prepared either way. Expect the Unexpected..." He let his gaze come back to the two infront of him. "Excuse me one moment please, I appollogize for the interuption."
He was heading for Akeru who had obviously been noticed evesdropping Hara had good perception skills from many years on the battlefield, it help him notice what was going on and he planned to find out why this was neccessary. Hara did not plan to harm him he only meant to teach him in the nicest way he knew that it was not nice to listen in on others conversations, let alone that of a captains. He was walking towards him probably blatently noticable moving through the crowd that made way for him. Suddenly he was gone, Where had he gone? He had used Shunpo and was now behind him. "Excuse me i could not help but realize you listening in on my conversation with the vice captain and 3rd seat, Any reasons for this? Suddenly the shunpo would shock him beacuse Hara had arrived so quickly but that is expected from a captain.
As he waited for a response and recieved it someone appeared in front of him with Sake but he declined it in a manor not to disrespect the student before him. He was not feeling hungry or thirsty, or at least not for Sake and Food. He wanted to teach and he had two good prospects looking to learn. He quietly waited for a response, eargerly wanting to go get answer from the Vice Captain and 3rd seat on when they might be ready to start the training.

Akeru froze and seemed taken back by the captain's sudden appearance. Though he knew his senses and perception skills were lacking, the speed at which Captain Lucious was suddenly behind him with a smile in his voice like he knew Akeru was eavesdropping all along. "Excuse me i could not help but realize you listening in on my conversation with the vice captain and 3rd seat, Any reasons for this?"
He turned to the captain and with his most respectable tone stated, "I merely wished to see what might be so important as to draw the attention of a Captain, Vice-captain, and a fellow San-seki. If it is kidou that you are discussing, I can almost certainly add a colorful view on the matter as I'm sure you can as well. Captain." He smiled and his hand found his pocket. Sure he was being respectful as possible but the truth was he didn't know this captain at all and didn't know how he would react.
He waited for his response, thinking that maybe this captain could show him some moves or maybe some new kidou. His numbers he knew now left gaps in his offenses and his defense. This could be the learning experience he was looking for, he just didn't know how the captain would react.

Hara looked at him with a half hearted smile that still gave off a friendly look to it. He was excited to be around all these fellow shinigami that was willing to learn to better them selves as he had done once. Only he did not really have anyone to train with. He trained on his own, the only motivation he had was to be a better Shinigami than his father ever could of been. Some would say he already is now beacuse he is a captain, something his father never reached. However Hara still is not confident that he is stronger than his dad yet. "Hmm i was offering training to the other two over there, I can not promise much Kido but i can promise excelent Defensive and Offensive attacks with swords." Hara knew it was embarassing but he was not afraid to admit it, he did not know many Kido. "In all honesty...i do not know much Kido myself.." He looked at Akeru waiting to hear an outburst of laughter or something beacuse of the Kidoless captain that stood before him.

OOC: I am sorry if you thought that Taien read his mind, however that didn't happen. I was mearly saying that Taien (eventually) will be able to catch up to Akeru in terms of Kido, as he is a Technique Master and has a much greater grasp of Kido than normal people, even like one such as you with a Kido based Zanpakuto. I apologize if it seemed that Taien peered into your mind, he doesn't even know that Akeru exists at this point, let alone the fact of reading his mind. Please accept my apology.
IC: Well! The session was over! Taien was just finishing up his notes. It had grown to a fourteen page monster, complete with diagrams of people doing various kido, and, most prominently, silhouettes of people using Kido in the various ways Brock-Sensei had described, such as a Danku cutting through a Hollow. There were also other silhouettes ofpeople using Kido in other ways not described by Manabu, as well as possible combination spells and spells that complimented each other when used together. He had juuust finished the last part as the session ended.
"Oya oya! See you later, Rin-Fukutaicho!"
Taien said to Rin before heading over to where Brock-Sensei was. He waded through the sea of people till he came to where Brock was standing. There was a small group around him, but a person left and so a gap was made. Taien filled that gap quickly. He extended his hand out to Brock as he said,
"Oya oya! Taien Hadohou, pleased to meet you Brock-Sensei."

Brock took Taien's hand and shook it. He liked this guy. Sure, he was older than Brock, just like everyone else, but he acted more like he looked. He was eager to learn, apparently.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Hadohou-senpai. I greatly appreciated your questions. I think things would have been quite slow if you hadn't been here. You know, I am always happy to study with anyone, and I have been through the Academy. I guess you could say I provide free tutoring. I would be glad to study with you as well. I think it would be rather engaging."
Ah, maybe that's how Manabu managed to get so many students to help serve food. When he and Taien were finished, he continued receiving similar greetings and questions until everyone had finally been addressed. With that, he walked over to the table that hopefully had at least one person seated there. Rin would have to be there. He stood nearby and faced slightly away, waiting for a superior to acknowledge him rather than imposing and speaking first.
