It was the middle of the day, the sun was out and Amaru was taking a bite out of his recently caught prey. This had been a good hunt, he had tracked it for several miles stalking it from the bushes waiting for a chance to strike and kill it. The chance came when it stopped to drink from a lake nearby. That proved to be it's undoing as it's head was lowered and it didn't stand a chance as Amaru quickly rushed from it's right side biting it in it's neck and snapping it in one go. A satisfying hunt that allowed him to easily satisfy both his hunger and the craving for a good challenge.
The water of the lake slowly turned to a deep red as the blood from the creature started to drip into it as Amaru feasted on the flesh. Amaru didn't really care about the blood getting into the water, however he knew that after his meal he would wash off the blood in the lake, not wanting his fur to be dyed a red and his skin to smell of blood for the next hunt. It was both to keep him clean and harder to detect when it came to hunts. He learned very quickly that hunting while bloody often lead to less success than when hunting clean. That and it allowed him more of a chance to tend to his rather fluffy tail.
With only bones left on the prey Amaru turned his sights to the lake, part of it was still a bit red from the blood, however as the water went on the red hue slowly dissipated into nothingness. Without a care Amaru slowly stepped into the cool water to rinse off his fur and clean his body. He would only step in deep enough for the water to reach right above his knees, kneeling over to wash his face and hands. Not wanting to get his tail wet. However before he could fully wash himself he smelt something that instantly drew his attention.
The smell of a beast clan, one that was close. He couldn't tell what sort it was, but all of his kind had that same smell to him something not fully animal, yet not human at the same time. What was one doing so close to his territory. He had marked this bit of land as his own and he hunted exclusively in it, him and those he would deem worthy of being his pack mates. This was an outrage, he wouldn't stand for it. Rushing out of the lake he headed right towards where he smelt the beast clan ready to confront it. He would come into view of the beast clan as he ran on all fours like a wild animal. There wasn't a need for stealth at the moment, he wanted to be seen.
