I break my usual silence to ask a question that I encountered in trying to make a character. Which is as follows. What happens to a character who loses their release item? Are they required to gain a new one, are they simply encouraged, or forbidden from doing so?
It's something that theoretically can happy relatively easily. [Your Zanpakuto falls down a ravine? / Your sealed Doll is stolen? / You grind your Fullbring focus to dust under your heel during a bout of self-loathing? / Your Bankai is dragged into hell along with the sinner you just killed? / Somebody cuts off the only limb your Yaseishin manifests from? / Say 'I'm never using a parasite like this again' throw your Bakkoto in a lake and walk off?] And yet I can't seem to find any information about how it's handled here.

Did you really bump this by re-creating the thread? Seriously, poke people on the Discord or something, this is just kinda agitating. :T
As it is, what you do at that point is up to you. With Zanpaktou, they're only unique through exposure plot-wise, and all start as a blank Asauchi that has your soul imprinted on it. Therefore, you could argue that after the first, you may be able to do so more easily a second time and re-claim your weapon. For Fullbring, you might find another item that means something to you with the loss of the previous. With Dolls, summon a new one. Yaseishin is a body release, not a single limb thing, and if you can't use said limb, it's not impossible to heal it (we have a universal hospital, for that reason. There are so many ways to handle it that there's no one listed way to do it; be creative, use your imagination.
