Arantima Aoire, Fifth Seat of squad 10, walks through the Rukongai heading towards the meeting area for this mission. He had met with the others, Squad 10 members that were swarming the notice board as this job would almost require a member of squad 10 to go. Arantima looked over at the members who were debating over who should take the assignment before he placed a hand on each of their shoulders. Arantima had gotten a reputation among the unseated members of squad 10, when he touches you it is time to stop talking.
He took hold of the Assignment and nodded "You are all very honorable and brave for seeking to take on this mission.. But Tell Hotaru-Sama that her Fifth seat will handle this personally. And Sarutobi, I have not forgotten about your challenge.. i am ready whenever you are but do not forget. You will face my Shikai release." His eyes held Sarutobi's gaze hard for a moment before Arantima Stepped away, slowly. He tied the Mission instructions to the Tsuba of his Zanpakuto.
He had walked through most of the Rukongai, greeting people and keeping a clear eye out for those with Spiritual sensitivity. His path was less set than it was something his feet just guided him on. A way he knew through the middle Rukongai, back to the tree. He looked out and up at the cracked tree, wrapped up together and hanging with signs that read "The sleeping dragon has awakened" A little send off from what few friends he used to have back here in the 33rd District.
He Stopped and rests a hand on his tree, looking around at some of the people who were training here in the square now, waving at them with a kind smile before flash stepping off towards the Destination. He Arrived in The Rukgonkai 77'th West district.. He knew out here that they did not have much experience with Shinigami, and what little they did was often bad. He drew both of his Dragons Whiskers and held them both backhanded as he was known for doing.
His stance was calm and relaxed, but he knew that this was not going to be a foe to be trifled with. He was however going to try and remain sealed for as long as he could, knowing that once he released he was going to become dangerous. The Danger was going to be real, but hopefully he wouldnt have to bring about any of his own dangers to this district. His senses were dulled like this but no more dull than a Normal human being, his largest downfall was his entire lack of energy sensory skill.
Arantime was in the district ready to defend it against whatever was causing so much trouble throughout the outer most districts of the slums. Yet as he stood awaiting the arrival of whatever was the cause nothing would happen. He was already in his fighting stance ready to react at any given moment so why wasn't anything coming. He didn't really expect whatever was killing people to just magically appear in front of him the moment that he got into position did he? Whatever was doing these killings was a monster and monsters were never summoned.
As he awaited whatever was the cause though in his fighting stance the scum of this district started to watch him some out of fear knowing that he was a Shinigami and others for something far less helpful. After a few minutes passed Arantima would suddenly feel a hard object hit him in the back of the head. It wouldn't have much strength to it only carrying with it the strength of a normal human. If he turned around he'd see a few thugs holding wooden boards most likely gotten from some of the shakes. "Stupid Shinigami here to keep our noses in the mud while you live in your luxury. We're thinking we might as well just kill you right here right now."

Arantima spun around and Sheathed his blades, rubbing the back of hid head idly, just caressing the spot where the stone had struck him. He Looked onward, the faces of the downtrodden the voice resonating in his ears of pain and anguish just finding a way of lashing out, potentially truly believing that all shinigami were like that. He Stood there for a long moment, just staring at them and shaking his head, If they were truly going to fight him they were going to have a rough time of doing it, he may be weakened in this state but he was a trained fighter and they were not.
He Looked back over his shoulder for a moment makign sure there was nothing there before he spred out his arms and raised his hands "My Apologies to you for the way you are living now.. But i hold myself no higher than you, I am here to defend you and yours against a beast that is headed on it's way towards us as we speak. If you wish to try and kill me before then, then please.. Be my most gracious of guests and try. But i will warn you that you will fail and you will become injured. I am a Son of the 33rd district of the Rukongai myself, The Doragonzutsurri was my home for a great long while.. i understand what it is like to suffer."
He Looks hard to them and takes a simple step forward, letting his hands fall down to his sides "Suffering should not allow you to believe that it gives you a right to cause it in others.. Providence is not an excuse to steal the opportunities of others! Go back to your homes and stay with your loved ones because i am here to fight and die for you! If i fail you here you will all die, And if it were me i would rather do that in the arms of those i care for!" Arantima has become incensed, The rage of the Dragon within him is crawling out at this outrageous moment.
Joshua had been recovering from his wounds quite nicely. He still needed the bandages on his arm and leg to cover up the severe burn scars. This would be a reminder of his purpose and his duty. He wanted to avenge all the people who died, and that woman deserves to be detained for what she has done. He felt a slight burst of anger at the mere thought of her. He shook off the anger and he remembered his duty. He had been on break due to his injuries from his battle with that arrancar. Thankfully, his Asauchi was fully restored now. He was going to start his duty again tomorrow.
However, he heard rumors around the squad 7 barracks. He heard of a report where a beast supposedly started slaughtering as many innocent civilians in the Rukongai. He heard that the beast was heading to the Seiretei. If that was the case, it would still be in the 77th district. He heard that it attacked the 80th, 79th, and 78th districts already. He was distressed. Apparently, not many shinigami took up the mission. He felt a duty to protect the people in those districts.
He knew he shouldn't as he was currently off-duty. He was still wearing his civilian clothes at the time and he did not look like a Shinigami if not for the Asauchi on his belt. He ran straight for the 77th district, rushing through the groups of people in the earlier districts. He was polite and apologized to the people he pushed by mistake while keeping up his momentum. He knew that the monster could strike at any moment. He had to save as many lives as possible, he would not let any more people die on his watch.
He arrived at the 77th district behind another shinigami already there, standing in front of a group of civilians. He was too far to see or hear who the shinigami was but he was just happy to know someone else responded to this mission. However, he would not leave. He would still help this person, whoever it was. He had slowed down considerably and was relaxed and calm now. He was going to greet the fellow shinigami.
He then stopped his approach once he saw the civilians throw a stone at the shinigami. Joshua was shocked and surprised. He ran over as fast as he could. He came up and stared at the civilians right away. He had confusion and anger on his face, he didn't even notice that it was Arantima yet. He confronted the group of civilians after Arantima finished his speech, which he also did not hear. "Stop this right now! We should not be fighting amongst each other. We are Shinigami, protectors of the entirety of the Soul Society. That includes all of you, your friends, family, and everyone you love. We risk our lives every day for you! Only a few days ago, I almost died. This should be proof enough." He said with conviction. The rumors would have spread out a bit already. An Arrancar had attacked a rookie and killed hundreds if not thousands of people in the living world. The rookie miraculously survived with grave wounds. Joshua would unwrap his arm bandages to show these rioting people. It would be completely black, scarred, burned, and horrible. It was barely recognizable as an arm anymore. He wrapped his arm back up and he stood his ground next to Tima.
The group of criminals in the Rukongai simply starred angrily at Arantima as he spoke to them making it blatantly clear that he viewed himself as the strongest out of them all and that if he so wished he could beat every single one of them with nearly no effort whatsoever. None of the men present liked the idea of being looked down upon when that was all they could see the shinigami doing to them throughout their entire lives in the Rukongai districts. When the second shinigami arrived and both of them were done speaking the men all looked at one another and then starred once again angrily at both shinigami.
After a moment what could only be the leader of the group began to speak his voice deep and vile and his body covered in scar marks. "The two are so dumb. You really think that you shinigami protect those of us way out here. That couldn't be any further from the truth. We're all out here with little to no shelter constantly fighting amongst ourselves for supplies just so we can live. Constantly under attack from the Beasts in the wilderness or the Hollows that come from wherever they come from. The only reason you two are out here right now is to kill the Beast before it gets any closer to your precious districts filled with all of the privileged that lick your feet. Go back to your towers and comfort before you both get hurt with real wounds."

Arantima looks at the man who is speaking and he simply shakes his head. "I Am not some noble born brat who did not have to work to get where i am. i had to fight and scrap and break myself to get there!" He looks them over and shakes his head. "You do not understand WHY it is you were placed here in the first place! And that is why you will never progress!" He looks to them again and sheathes his weapons, gesturing around the place they are in.
"You have been placed here because in life you were morally bankrupt.. You are supposed to use this time to learn to care for each other, To claim your place in someplace better. You Are not TRAPPED here by anyone but yourselves.. The sooner you realize that the better. These districts are forgotten not because you are worthless but because you need to learn that you can better yourself. And if you can not learn that here then your suffering is deserved!" Arantima looks across each of the men gathered there and spits on the ground
Joshua turned to face the Shinigami next to him. He recognized him immediately. It was Arantima, the Shinigami he had learned from. He nodded with a face filled with determination. This willpower was something he learned from him, and now he knew why. He worked his way up. He started in the Rukongai, just like these people in front of them. The difference between them was, Arantima found the truth. He bettered himself. He would not be shackled by hatred, or fear. Joshua grew to admire this man. He acknowledges him as a teacher, someone willing to guide and share his hard earned lessons.
Joshua turned back to the group of civilians. He scowled at them in anger as they would not get it through their thick skulls. They would not see their errors. This only caused Arantima to get angry. He had never seen this side of Arantima before. His face showed theexpression of shock for a second before switching back to an anger. These ignorant fools kept insisting that the only reason they were there was to protect the Seireitei. They were completely wrong. Joshua wanted to prevent the deaths of anyone.
"Do you think that we are not afraid? Do you think that we are not scared for our loved ones? My reason for being here is to prevent anymore deaths from happening! I don't care whether you live in the First District or the Eightieth! I wish I could have come sooner, the very instant someone was in danger but I can't! I'm not a God, I'm not a hero, but I try. That's more than I can say for most people. I shouldn't even be here. I'm still supposed to be recovering. However, I heard about your problems and I came running. Be grateful someone showed up, let alone came to help. I don't think I am superior, hell, I don't think we're equal. I serve you, WE serve you. All the Shinigami are here to serve you. Wherever you are placed is not our fault! We are not in control of that! You were in control of that. You decided your fate. Now, leave us to our business, unless you wish to fall to the beast as well." He said with conviction and passion in every word.
He looked towards Arantima afterwards and nodded. "Shall we go? We may catch or kill this beast before anyone else gets hurt, but the clock is ticking. Say the word, Sensei, and I will follow. He would say in hushed voices. He would ignore the civilians if they were still there. He looked at his blade on this side of his torso and sheathed it once more. They will face a beast soon. He wondered if it would be as strong as that arrancar was and he gulped. He was scared of her, but he had to let it go. He waited for Arantima's response.
OoC: Hey Arantima, this is set after our training thread so we know each other. I hope you don't mind.
The group of men simply continued to starred angrily at the shinigami looking as if at any moment now anyone of them could strike out with some form of weaponry at either of the Shinigami. "You both just prattle on about how you were able to do things and thus we should be able to do the exact same things. As shinigami you're pretty ill-informed. Most of us don't have enough spiritual energy to cut it as Shinigami. So we're stuck here in the mud forever."
The arguing between all of this individuals seemed like it would go on forever with neither side giving way to the way that the other felt on this subject. However, that was not the case as suddenly the sound of several shakes being completely demolished followed by the screams of citizens cut off what would have been an endless argument. The sounds of the screaming wasn't coming from to far away maybe around a mile so if the shinigami hurried they should be able to reach the origin anywhere from a few minutes to a few seconds. "Go on now heroes. Be good little lucky stars and get yourselves killed."

Arantima was getting annoyed with these cyclical responses from these people. "I never once said strive to become a Shingami.. I said strive to become better. In the push for A greater place those who have lived a life of suffering will prosper over those who have lived an easy life of leisure.. Learn that truth and prosper from it.. For now I must go and risk my life so that yours can go on another day." Arantima Turns towards the loud sound and Rushes forward, his body not able to move as fast as he would like but he couldn't risk expending any energy on flash step, not yet.
His Body was pulsing with strain as he pushed his speed to its maximum to rush and run onward, moving at the speed of a relatively above average human. He called back to Joshua before he was too far "I will need you yet Joshua!! Come on now and run with all you are capable of, people are in danger!" Arantima moved with a stability that was from years of pushing himself this way, using the limits of his Sealed abilities, his parasitically reduced form.
Joshua was annoyed with these people. He understood the anger that Tima felt now, he felt it too. He just stared at them with an annoyed expression. If they pushed him a little bit more, he would consider leaving them behind, let them be killed instead. But that was just a thought, he would never actually risk their lives out of something so unimportant as an argument. He felt a deep frustration as they argued back.
They continued to argue. They said that they didn't have enough spiritual pressure to become Shinigami like Tima and Josh did. Josh was more annoyed than usual. The moral was that they could change their fate. They do not need to become Shinigami, he preferred that they didn't especially because of all the dangers of being one. They live in the Soul Society, all they had was time. They could spend that time bettering themselves, yet they spend their time hating the other people around them.
He was about to argue once more until Tima said basically the same thing. He just nodded and let his senior Shinigami talk to these negative people. Suddenly he could feel several shakes around the area followed up by horrible screams. He was shocked and terrified, he did not know what to do. He didn't want anyone to get hurt but he might have been too late. He turned to the civilians and the leader made another disrespectful statement.
He scowled at the ignorant man once more and was about to continue the argument when Tima called out tohim. He turned and looked at him and saw that he was far away already. He was about to run when he turned back one more time. "I won't get myself killed, and I will make sure you don't either. I don't need your thanks but at least acknowledge it." He said with a stern face before running off towards the screams and Tima.
He was marginally faster than before and he caught up to Tima with a little extra push. He ran with all he was to make sure that no one would die, not on his watch, not again. He looked at his burnt and scarred arm and used it as a reminder. He looked onwards with conviction. "So, What's our plan? We have to protect those people and slay the beast!" He said slightly shouting so Tima would hear him. He kept alert to look out for any signs of the beast or the victims.

Arantima looks behind himself as he hears Joshua coming up behind him and laughs gently "For now just Follow me as Best you can. And Remember this. i am a bridge between the Weak and a Monster.. If i tell you to Move back from me an exact distance, Do you best to get that far as fast as you can. Flash step will be your best ally here, even moreso than I." He Looks around once and waits to hear another rumble before correcting his path. He looked To joshua and nodded once, drawing His twin whiskers and stopping in his tracks.
He Looks over at Joshua and rolls his shoulders slightly "You are ready, And brave. But I want to tell you this. I Am going to be hurt, and you need to close out any notions of getting in the way of a blow that could kill me. I Am the 5th seat of Squad 10, injury is what i do. " He Smirks and taps the Leather cap over his chest, which from all appearances to Joshua he is only keeping there becuase he likes it the wound has healed far more than enough to matter by now. He nods once more and looks down at the floor.
"When we trained last, You said you were barely able to use Shunpo. Well, Now you will receive a lesson. My Squad captain is a Master of the flash step.. And As such i have pushed myself to get close. Watch, if your eyes can." The step is slow, now so much from his own lack of speed but becuase he is making it so that Joshua can watch it for a spplit second before he is just gone is a gust of wind. Arantima Flash steps down into the center of the screaming having Mastered Shunpo and having a fair amount of skill in Hoho it wasn't too difficult for him, he only hopes that Joshua can arrive as swiftly.
Arantima was ahead of him, but Joshua was starting to catch up slowly. Joshua smiled at his teacher and showed the determination he had learned from their training. The will to protect, to serve the people, no matter what the cost. It was interesting, they were alike in many ways, which gave him the respect for his teacher. He prayed then and there that they would survive this day, to fight on and protect the innocents. This is his chance to defend the people.
Arantima said that he would be hurt, and that Joshua should not take a hit for him. He was meant to be injured. Joshua chuckled at that remark. "I expect the same from you. I have been injured for the people as well, don't forget that. As long as we can save someone from death, we will take on anything. That's our strength, our will. You taught me that. Now, let's go." He said with confidence. His blade seemed to shimmer for a second when he said that.
Arantima then said that the last time they met, he could barely use Shunpo. He then slowed down just enough so that Joshua could see it well. Joshua smiled, he could do that too. It wasn't that hard and it may not be as far as his but he could Flash Step. He channeled the reiatsu and Flash Stepped, appearing around fifteen feet away from Tima. He was about to say something about his technique but he realized that the screaming came from this area. He drew his blade and was ready for the fight.
