-Powers-
Fighting Style:
Joshua is a fencer and he is good at swordplay. Using the Zanpakuto was weird and different at first, as the blade was very different and foreign to him. It was heavier and moved differently compared to the saber he was used to. After practicing with it enough, he has managed to be proficient at weilding it. He was a master of swordplay when he was alive but now he is admittedly out of practice.
He is never scared or afraid of a fight and is usually composed and collected in a fight. He tries his best to cover any openings and strike when the opponent shows a weakness. He is proud of himself in a fight and is arrogant about it. He is the kind of person who would strike first. He creates openings with his skills with a sword while keeping his guard up. He strikes with purpose, speed, strength, and skill with every strike. He does not hesitate and he pulls back immediately to cover up his opening. He makes up for his mistakes by being patient and correcting his strikes.
He is someone who prefers to fight others blindly, not knowing how they fight or their weaknesses. He is an honorable fighter. He follows a code of chivalry and honor. He will not kill under most circumstances. He mainly fights criminals with a deep hatred due to his life's experience with them. He is not a strategist. He does not like to plan out attacks or defenses. He prefers using his own quick thinking and intuition to fight. He is not a team player either. He is a perfectionist and every mistake another person makes bothers him. He cannot stand the mistakes of anyone, no matter how slight.
Zanpakutou Spirit Appearance(Optional):[/b] Inner World(Optional):[/b] Zanpakutou Appearances:
Sealed State- Joshua's Zanpakuto is a regular katana with a black hilt. It is of the average size of a Zanpakuto although the blade is a bit thinner.
Shikai- Joshua's Zanpakuto takes the form of a foil with a chain that wraps around his arm. The foil itself looks like a normal foil used in fencing except for the chain wrapped around its base which extends up his arm. This serves to make sure he is not disarmed or defenseless.
Bankai- Joshua's Bankai changes the ball pointed foil of its Shikai predecessor and changes it into a sharp edged saber. The chain still wraps around his arm and the hilt of the saber. It also creates a jail cell at exactly 300 meters around Joshua.
Zanpakutou Release Names(Include both Shikai and Bankai names, and call out phrases) Bind the unlawful, Shikko-sha!/ Judge the despicable, Jikko-sha.
Overall Ability:
Joshua's Zanpakuto is based on his want to enforce the law and take down criminals. Its Shikai restrains and exhausts the opponent and aims to cripple the enemy instead of kill. It forces the opponent's to go on a defensive and waste energy on this over preparing another attack.
Joshua's Bankai is based on his experience with the worst of the worst. Those that do not deserve to live anymore, and those that refuse to change their ways. He is no longer afraid to harm or kill, even going as far as punishing and torturing the prisoners. His main goal is to eventually kill the prisoners.
Shikai Overall Ability:
Shikko-sha leaves marks on the body of the opponent. The marks restrain the use of that part of the body. The marks can be deactivated if enough Reiatsu is forced into the, although they can be activated again. These marks force the target to fight defensively.
Shikko-sha also has a chain which can further reinforce the draining and exhausting ability of the marks. The chains may also weigh down heavily on the opponent, lowering their speed if certain conditions are met. The chains are reinforced with the spiritual pressure of Joshua. It can also extend to mark or lock an open from far away, allowing a more versatile fighting style.
Bankai Overall Ability:
Jikko-sha creates a 300 meter wide jail cell. Everyone within the cell is subject to his rules and laws. The abilities of the shikai are still usable in this form. The cell bars are thick and reinforced by the spiritual pressure of Joshua. The spaces between the bars are thin, thinner than any living being to fit through. All the laws are passed equally to everyone within the cell, regardless of ally or enemy, besides Joshua of course.
Each law punishes the prisoners within the cell. The first weakens the prisoners, leaving their attacks weak and nearly harmless. The second, makes the prisoners damage each other if they touch each other within the area of the cell. The third and final kills restrained and chained opponents although only one may be killed at a time.
Zanpakuto Techniques: [Generate below. Include powers and weaknesses.]
Shikai-
Lock-Striking the opponent will leave a lock mark on the opponent. The second strike will lock the mark. Each limb once locked can't be used until unlocked either by your character or by the locked target by spending Reiatsu. With the torso locked the Cost to unlock their other limbs is doubled and the torso lock cant be removed. Costs 150 reiatsu to unlock and 300 if the torso is locked. All locks can be unlocked by Joshua if he wishes it with another strike. The mark remains on the opponent's body after unlocking, allowing another strike to re-lock it.
Weakness: This technique requires two strikes to lock the mark.
Edit: Those with an offensive stat higher than Joshua is immune to this effect.
Chain-Can only put a chain on a locked limb. Each chain has the same break cost as the locks but the chains must be broken before the locks. Each chain attached to the Target Reduces their speed by 10% of Joshua's offensive stat unless they have a higher offensive stat. This technique costs 75 Reiatsu per chain.
Weakness: This technique requires the mark on the opponent to be locked.
Edit: Joshua's blade must strike the lock once more to add the chain.
Long arm of the law - This ability is directly offensive. By spending 75 reiatsu Joshua can extend the reach of his Zanpakuto by a number of feet equal to his Spiritual pressure, but not only straight. This ability allow the zanpakuto to curve around and turn back on itself if need be. Always targeting a lock placed on the target first if there is such a mark. This Technique travels at double Joshua's own speed. It allows Joshua to relock an open lock at a distance if need be or to hack at his opponents allies who enter his domain.
Weakness: This technique requires the Spiritual Pressure of Joshua to extend.
Bankai-
Cut Rations - This Ability Enacts a field where hunger and thirst are a reality. The Drain on Reaitsu from the evasion of earlier techniques starts to take it's toll rapidly. The Skin will go dry, sallow, colorless. The prisoner or prisoners are engulfed with a rabid hunger and thirst. For every post that a target remains under the affect of this judgement they are sapped of strength. Any attack they make while in the Jail cell cuts their physical based attacks in potency by Joshua's Spiritual Pressure.
Weakness: This affects all the people within the cell, whether it is an ally or an enemy, except for Joshua. Those with a Damage Recovery of 3 are immune to this effect.
Edit: This drains Strength. The Reiatsu drain above refers to Lock and Chain.
Solitary Confinement-This technique costs 150 Reiatsu per post. Everyone within the cell will be considered a prisoner. If a prisoner comes in contact with another prisoner in any means they are inflicted with damage.
Weakness: This technique does not affect anyone who attacks from a range.
Edit: This does not affect Joshua. They will not be damaged when they come in contact with Joshua as he is not considered a prisoner. The damage is equal to the amount of force they used when coming into contact with one another.
Death Sentence- Death sentence requires all four limbs chained without being broken. Once that condition has been met, a guillotine will be created around the opponent. The Guillotine instantly kills the opponent once Joshua touches its base.
Edit: This technique costs 100 Reiatsu along with the other requirements.
Weakness: This technique requires all four limbs to be marked, locked, and chained before the guillotine appears.

History:
Ages 0-10
Joshua was born in Paris, the city of love. He was raised there and lived there his entire life, although it was not very long. He never got to experience true love. He never had the chance. His life ended too quickly. His life scarred him. His life changed him. His life took a toll on his soul.
Joshua's father was Jacob, Jacob Froid. He was a professional fencer and a champion in his own right. He was stern and strict and would not accept anything but perfection. Joshua's mother was Maria Froid. She was a nurse, taking care of sick patients everyday. She was gentle and kind, the mother who accepts and supports all his decisions and loves him unconditionally. The pair met in the hospital when Jacob broke his arm during practice. Ever since, they had fallen for each other. They eventually got married and had a son, Joshua Froid.
Joshua was a cute child. He always attracted attention wherever he went. Even at a young age, he was interested in looks and clothes. He wanted to be appealing and attractive. He had heard the stories of the city of love and he was hopeful to meet the love of his life. Yet, he never managed to meet her.
His father pushed him to strive for perfection, nothing less. He would be spanked every time he made a mistake. He was afraid of his father. Due to this, he learned and adapted. He listened and studied in his classes. He worked hard, harder than most, eventually becoming the top of the year with nearly perfect grades. His father never showed his pride or joy. This pushed Joshua to try harder, he longed for the appreciation of his father. He watched the other children in his classes have loving and caring fathers and he wanted it. He wished for it.
One day, his mother tried to help him. She brought him to the one thing his father loved to see. He watched a fencing match. He saw the precision and the calculated strikes that each competitor used, and he was excited. He thought he could win the acknowledgement, the appreciation of his father. He saw the skill that each competitor had and he was impressed. This was the sport for intelligent and precise people, people like him. From that day on, he swore to be the best fencer, to be better than his father.
Ages 11-15
Joshua started his classes in fencing. It was obvious that he was skilled, he was quick and precise. He was smart and he knew when to strike. He knew how to make openings in the opponent's defense. He was the best fencer in his class. In a year, he was on the fast track to becoming the best fencer in the world. His father was still not proud though. He wouldn't be proud until he won gold in a professional competition.
Joshua was more determined than ever. He trained every day after his classes. He understood the style of fighting and made it an extension of himself. The foil was part of his arm, it was a part of him. He started to bring it around everywhere, so he could practice in his free time. He was getting better and better. He was going to join competitions soon. One more year of training before he is qualified. He was nearing the end of it already. He was excited and he knew he was ready.
Joshua did it. He finally joined a competition. It was the junior devision, for younger fencers. It was an amateur competition but he gave it his all. He was precise and his strikes landed, one after another. He parried many strikes, blocked more, and made sure that he wouldn't be hit. In the end, he won gold without competition. He was the best in the competition by far. He felt the satisfaction of winning, of proving himself. He looked to his father for approval, yet all he saw was a scowl on his face.
Joshua was confused and angry. Why was his father so cold, so cruel? He went home after the competition with anger. When he arrived, he saw his father standing by the door. His father commanded him to practice right then and there, holding a foil of his own. Joshua thought it was a challenge and he was ready for it. He got into stance, ready to challenge his father. However, his father walked around him and looked at his stance. If there was the slightest mistake, he would trip him using the foil. This went on for hours, and his father would not allow him to eat or drink until he did it perfectly. He was bruised and battered and in deep pain now. His legs were aching, his arms were sore, and it only made it easier to make mistakes. His mother finally arrived from the hospital. She was the only person who could calm him down. He finally let Joshua rest but he was not proud of him.
The next year passed like this, his father getting angrier and angrier at the slight mistakes he made, yet his winning streak was not yet over. He won gold after gold, rising through the rankings. His father was still not happy. He was getting better and better yet his father still looked for flaws. The better he got, the harder his punishment was. From tripping him, to spanking him again, until now. Now, he just started to whip him with a belt. At the same time, he was preparing for his first international competition. He would cry from the pain as his father whipped him hard across his back. Lash marks were left on his back after that day. Joshua was starting to resent his father. He felt a deep hatred for his father.
He was still rising up the ranks in the fencing world. He was known as the best fencer of his age. He was fourteen now. He won gold in his first two international competitions. He was starting to become famous. His mother was happy and excited for him and his father was cold as usual. He was given an agent to represent him to other countries. His agent was John Adamson. John was a charismatic and joyful man. He was in his early twenties and it was clear that Joshua was his first client. Joshua and John quickly became close friends. All his fencing activities were being monitored by John instead of Jacob. This made Joshua much happier. He started to feel like he was an actual teenager for once, having fun doing what he loves, instead of being punished for everything.
A year later, Joshua was regarded as the next fencing champion if the world. He was preparing for the world championship. He was personally invited to join the competition. If he would win, he would be the youngest champion in history. Jacob sent him away to train with John for the months before the competition. He was happy to be away from his father but felt a sadness as his mother was left there. He spent the months training hard, getting progressively better than before, keeping him sharp and accurate. He was a professional now, ready to win and leave his name in the history books.
A month before the world championship, Joshua received a letter. He opened it and read that his mother had died. His mother fell into a deep sickness and died. He was stunned and shocked. Tears streamed down his face as this news hit him. John tried to comfort him and help him get out of this depression but to no avail. The worst part for Joshua was that he was not told that his mother was sick. He was enraged by this, his father hadn't even said anything. He quickly rushed home without another word. John allowed him to go, not willing to stop him. He confronted his father in anger and sadness. His father's face showed signs of tears and crying but his expression was still cold and empty. His father just told him to do well for his competition. This made him angrier, without another word he stormed off. He was done with his father. He returned to John and he moved in with him.
Joshua thought of John as an older brother, someone he could look up to. He told John about his experiences with his father, showing him the multiple lash marks across his back that scarred him. John tried to comfort him more but he was feeling sad as well. Joshua knew he was abused, he just didn't want his father to go to prison. Now, he was left with nothing left. He had nothing of his own. He spent that last month just waiting with John. He had a plan in mind, he was going to tell his story in front of the world. He was going to expose his history of abuse and pain under his father.
Joshua arrived at the venue of the competition. He was waiting for his cue to go up on stage and deliver his speech. He was prepared to tell his story. Then his cue finally came. He started his story, explaining his whole life to the people of the world. When he reached the part about his father's abuse, he took off his jacket, showing off his scars. This speech brought tears to his eyes and touched everyone's hearts. Joshua's father was sent to jail afterwards. Joshua was finally free. He was in pain and needed more time to grieve. He decided not to perform in the tournament, not wanting to do it anymore.
Ages 16-20
He was inspired by the police force. He wanted to help others like him, and he was sure that his skills would help. He decided to enter the police academy. He spent the next few years there, living with John. He was the star student, quickly becoming the best in his class. Not much happened in this period of time. He was regarded as the best in his class.
He was twenty years old now, a newly graduated police officer. He was excited and joyful. He was overconfident with his abilities. He wanted to impress his new captain by arresting a criminal before he gets assigned. He found a few criminals that seemed to be his level, low-tier criminals. A few petty thieves and drug pushers. He thought he could take them easily. He confronted them and he found out that they were more dangerous than he thought. They were members of a criminal organization. They shot him in the head. He died that day, due to his arrogance.
Age ??
He woke up in a new area. He wasn't on the streets of Paris or anywhere nearby. This place looked like somewhere from Feudal Japan. He saw hundred thousands or even millions of people around him. He was confused and hungry. He wanted to eat but he didn't know where to go for food. He started asking around and everyone pointed in the same direction. He found himself walking towards nicer looking buildings and his hunger was still growing. He was starving. He continued asking and he eventually found the Shinigami Academy. He walked inside and found the cafeteria. He started eating non-stop. Eating as much as he could, the teachers saw him and asked him if he would like to join the academy. Joshua was hungry at that moment, thinking mostly with his stomach. He readily accepted so he could eat more of the food. And that was how he ended up in the Souls Spciety Shinigami Academy.
