Sylvanas Liskasha had been adjusting to her life in Japan having previously learned to speak the language with relative ease a few years before coming. It seemed that languages came to her like fish take to water. Within the nearly six years she had spent in the world of the living, she had found out that spiritual activity was strongest in Japan after meeting a man who claimed that he had left Japan as he was something called a “Fullbringer.” She had also discerned that Vampires were what Bounts were called as the powers of familiars seemed extremely similar to the concepts of dolls, although she was not aware that her kind feasted on blood of the living. Now...she was hoping that if all of this was true, she could find more information on her kind here. Perhaps her kind had migrated to Japan.
There were a number of possible locations she could stop by including Transylvania, Germany, etc. However, she had taken the thought of going to Japan first. Now she looked into a library within a place known as Karakura town in the search for knowledge of her peoples. The beings that were dubbed by the fullbringer as Hollows were to be avoided at all costs. She had to lay low as she had no way to defend herself at the moment. Looking through the lines of shelves, she looked for anything having to do with vampires and vampire familiars. She had then began to browse through information on any news of these to find that there was hardly anything worth of value. These...twilight books were absolutely horrible as she really doubted Bounts had anything to do with them. Thus she continued to read.
She had read a variety of sources saying that Vampires had a variety of types of familiars and ridiculous things such as contracts between them, familiars were created, familiars were converted from animals. Majority of the sources seemed more and more useless and speculations. However...a few sources did mention that if a familiar were to be killed, so did the vampire. That part was true as Bounts did die if their dolls had also been killed. It also mentioned that there was a cost that was to be paid to a familiar or else it would turn on the master. That part was also true. Although, ALL of the sources mentioned that vampires died in sunlight. This confused her as well as the part that they feasted on human blood. However, every book mentioned at least that much...and that they seemed to be able to live for hundreds of years. This didn't make any sense.
She had never heard of Bounts having any of those traits...but then again, over four centuries had passed ever since Sylvanas was last around. Had things change where the Bounts were able to gain such powers? Shutting her books, she took a look to the internet to look for vampire stories in Japan. There had been ones of these surprisingly...a good number. Also, she had found there were several stories or "blogs" saying that people have seen such vampires. This interested her as there are more recent stories of such things. Now this was interesting...but then a chilling question brought itself into her mind. Why had the Bounts been attacking people? Was it prejudice against their mistreatment? What of the Shinigami and their assault on her peoples?
She had sighed to herself as she looked further for nearly three hours. Everything was so confusing, but she was sure that indeed that Bounts exist within Japan although if they are extinct or not is the question. Another thing she was questioning is that if they weren't extinct then where were they enmasse and what were they doing? Were Shinigami still fighting with them? Finally, she wondered what she would do if she were to find one. At around 6PM, she had seen someone come to her and tap her on the shoulder. "Excuse me, but it is time for you to go." Sylvanas nodded and she then spoke to the librarian. "Please do excuse me. I have been working as a librarian assistant for around 5 years. Would I be able to fill out an application? I saw you were hiring." There was a nod, and soon she would step outside as it was still rather bright.
However, soon enough she saw something she had never seen before. There had been a almost...apparition being that was walking through the streets with a look of confusion...disappointment...and anger. There was a chain that was dragging seemingly closer to the stomach. It was a young girl by the look of it, and it confused her. Sylvanas decided to follow this figure. "Excuse me. Excuse me little girl. Please! Stop!" People looked at her oddly as the ghost then turned into an alleyway. Sylvanas followed despite her better judgement. Something wasn't right. It was then face to face, she saw a young child ghost staring at her face. "What do you want?"
