She watched him, watching the emotions play through him. But for now he needed to get under some type of shadow or near water. The blazing heat of the sun was getting to her so it must be worst for him. The wing that seldom passed by did little to cool the heat from the sun. Tilting her head up and looked at the sky. She sighed. No clouds so no shade will be coming from the sky. "We should get you some shade." She said as she looked back to him.
She paused hearing his question. Fighting? She didn't know much so she shook her head to his question. She didn't see many people had had keep to herself since she had found herself in this place. She keep to the grassy area like this one. "No. Still new to all this."She said as she tilted her head to the side blinking. She was confused to why he had asked her that but had not asked yet. She watched him for the moment before finally asking. "Why?"
Zadora was right it seemed like everything around them not just the both of them were getting hotter and hotter in the direct sunlight that just seemed to be ablaze today. Rafael was a large black feline and it wasn't even just the fact that the majority of his body was composed of on the outside muscle, but the fact his fur happened to be entirely black in coloration. This coloration brought further heat and as he stood there continuing to speak to Zadora he did start to feel the sensation that one would get when they were approaching heat stroke.
Zadora was right the both of them should find some shade somewhere, but just as Zadora had looked over the area and the sky so did Rafael seeing the same things that she had seen and coming to the same conclusion. There wasn't really anywhere to get shade at the moment. "Alright then part of the fun to adventuring is finding places you wouldn't expect so lets go find some shade." Rafael would start to walk in the direction past Zadora knowing that if she was really interested in joining him on his adventures that she would follow beside him.
"Very important you know how to fight. Humans try to capture or kill Beasts for being different." Rafael was walking on the right side of Zadora and as he finished speaking to her what he had just said he would lift up his left arm. Placing his right hand on his left forearm he would move his fur slightly allowing Zadora to see the skin beneath his pitch black thick fur. What would be revealed to her were a bunch of small yet easily visible scars that had been inflicted upon Rafael by one of the humans that lived in this new world. "I want to make sure you can defend yourself."
She watched him with interest but also worry for the massive male but with nothing in sight they would have to move and find a place to cool off. As she went to say something, he spoke. She looked at him listening. "I Agree." She said as she watched him walk pass her. Spinning on her padded heels to follow over him. Moving quickly to walk along side him for their search of shade.
She listened to his talk once more but this time is was about learning to defend herself. She cocked her head to the side blinking unsure of why he seemed so into knowing why she didn't know how to defend herself. She watched him lift his left arm. His actions had her curious of what he was doing as he moved his body towards her. Watching as he lifted his right arm over his left and moved his fur.
She looked to his arm as he parted the thick black fur. Noticing the small scars that matted his arm making her blink. She looking up to him blinking as she tilted her head to the right. "Humans did this to you?" She asked as she looked between his arm and up towards his face. Though their height difference was started to annoy her, she didn't voice her irritation towards it. Not being one for many words, she leaned forwards and pressed her forehead against his arm expression an emotion that she wasn't internally sure. More like her instinct was taking over and showed that she was sorry for him.
As Rafael continued to walk in search of something that would help cool him off before the heat from the sun caused heat stroke he would keep the conversation alive between Zadora and himself. It was actually pretty surprising that although she was a Beast very much like himself she hadn't yet come across any humans in this world. He had only been living this second life for a little more than three weeks and he had already come close to death more than once because of them.
So in his own opinion for Zadora it was both a blessing that she hadn't been harmed the way that he had, but it was also a curse. She didn't know how to defend herself that much she had just made very clear to him which meant that any number of the humans that he had come across could kill her with relative ease. If she was going to travel with him then he would have to make sure to help train her so that if the time comes when humans would try to do harm to them both she would be able to defend herself.
He wasn't sure how serious she would take the idea of learning how to defend herself unless he made it very clear to her that she needed to know how or else her chances of surviving in this world were very slime. That's why he separated his black fur and revealed to her the scars of his past battles against the humans. He wasn't expecting her to push her face against his arm though which actually brought a rush of embarrassment to the large panther at the mere thought of her being so close and showing such a sign towards him.
He had to focus though he couldn't let her get hurt which meant he had to keep showing her that if she didn't learn what happened to him would be so much worse if it happened to her. "That not all Zadora." Rafael told her as he looked down into her eyes and then moving his right paw over his chest he pulled his fur apart revealing sections of a long scar from his right shoulder down to the middle of his chest. She had to see just how far humans would go to try and kill her and why she needed to know how to defend herself.
Rafael looked up and could see a small pond in the distance approximately three hundred yards away which meant that it would take them a bit of time if they just kept walking. He didn't want to come off as always serious to Zadora, but he also needed to keep the subject alive and see what she could do physically in order to learn how best to teach her. Pointing at the pond with his right paw Rafael smiled down at Zadora. "Race you there. One. Two. Three. GO!" Rafael said without giving Zadora much time to realize what he was talking about and then he ran off towards the pond both ready to get a drink and wondering if she could keep up with him.
She looked around as she moved along his side. Pausing as she heard him speak up once more. Turning to face him watching as he look down at her. She watched his hand move up to his chest and part his fur to reveal another scar but unlike the small ones on his arm, this one was a long one. She looked at the scar then up to his face blinking in surprise and lost for words for the moment. She looked between the scar and his face a few more times before settling on looking at his face.
"Human's did this?" She asked in surprise. She didn't think that the humans would be this cruel on him. She was thankful that she didn't encounter a human but she felt bad for him. He must have been in a lot of pain with what they do to him."Where you scared?" She asked as she pointed his chest then let her hand fall to her side as she watched him. She couldn't stop herself from being curious and concerned about him.
She felt like she was full of questions so she decide to close her mouth and wait for his answers. She walked along his side glancing to him every now and then. She didn't notice that he had spot until he was no longer at her side. She turned and looked at him watching as he pointed in a direction making her look to where he was point while he spoke. Blinking as he ran past her. It took her a moment to realize that he wanted to race her to the pond
"Hey... Wait." She called out to him as she was about ready to start running to noticed that he looked be running rather slow but was ahead of her. Shrugging her shoulders pushing aside her thoughts then ran after him. At first she knew she caught up to him, than ran passed him. She paused about three yards from him and turned to look at him then smiled to him. She wasn't inspecting to be that far ahead of him but at the moment she didn't mind.
As Rafael continued to show Zadora the many scars that he had already suffered from the actions of the humans that lived in this new world. She had already seen the small scars all around his left forearm, but now as he revealed to her the larger scar across his chest through his thick black fur he could see her shock at the wound. It wasn't surprising that she was surprised though as she had been surprised by the fact that the scars on his arm had been from the humans as well. She asked him something though afterwards that he hadn't actually considered.
"Yes I was. I had to fight through it though. If I didn't fight as hard as I could I would have died." Rafael said to Zadora thinking back to the battle that he had experienced between himself and the long dark haired female human that had somehow been able to create and shoot lighting from her finger tips. He also had the scars on each of his shoulders from those bolts of lightning that had gone right through his flesh and left the burn holes that he had to deal with not only when he had been fighting her, but in the days to follow as well. He didn't wish to show Zadora anymore of his scars though believing that such a thing would only continue to perhaps bring fear to her instead of courage.
As Rafael took off towards the pond he smiled actually having fun with someone for the first time sense he was a human. That wasn't the only purpose of this though which was something that Zadora more than likely didn't know. Rafael was much smarter than any of the humans normally would have expected from a Beast as at the moment he was actually testing Zadora's physical speed. To his surprise though Zadora in mere moments ran past him as if he was walking in comparison. His eyes actually widened in shock from disbelief at her speed. How was it possible that she was this fast?
Once the both of them reached the pond Rafael several seconds after Zadora had already gotten there he looked down at Zadora. "That's amazing! Howe're you that fast?" Rafael asked the black and white tigress as he in truth had no idea how such a thing was possible. She had just run faster than any other thing he had ever seen. He only was able to move faster than that when he used the acceleration technique that he had learned from the boar Beast a few weeks ago. Zadora though was able to move the way she just did he assumed all the time. She was far faster than him and there was no hope of him catching her if it came down to it. He wasn't sure anyone would be able to match her.
She pushed aside her curiosity of how she was faster than him as she made it to the lake with him a bit behind her. Spinning on her padded heels as she turned to face him. Blinking as she watched him jog up to her and look down at her. Cocking her head to the side as she looked up at him. She felt confused at his question making her tilt her head to the side even more. "But it is good that you lived through it." She said.
"I don't know what you mean." She said as she looked to the pond with temptation to jump into the water. She seem to pout for the moment then looked towards Rafael. Shoving aside the want to jump into the water. Rocking on her heels to watch him. Not sure of how to take his surprise and shock about how she was faster than him. She rubbed the back of her head and gave a small nervous smile towards him.
Removing her head from her head to shield her eyes from the sun. With both of them near the lake, she seem to grin. She looked at him swaying on her feet as she watched him. Taking a few steps forwards towards him. With quick movements, she moved to push him into the water with a smug look on her face the giggled softly to herself. Being with another person might be more interesting. "How is the water?" She asked, laughing once more to herself.
Just being by the lake was cooling off Rafael who could really feel the heat coming from the sun high above them both yet with the heavy black fur that coated every inch of his body it made the heat from tens of times more intense compared to what none Beasts would feel. In fact he was wondering how Zadora wasn't feeling the same way that he was. She seemed to be perfectly fine despite being a large feline Beast just as the same him just well smaller. She was definitely the nicest person that he had met so far or perhaps ever he couldn't really tell all he knew was that finding her had made his day better than anything else could have.
Although he didn't know how she could be as fast as he had just seen it didn't seem like Zadora knew either which meant simply one thing. She had always been as fast as she just displayed at least while she had been a Beast. That brought up another question to Rafael's curiosity one that he wasn't comfortable asking Zadora so soon after meeting her, but his curiosity would keep it for later. Could he be different than other Beasts or were all Beasts at one time humans? He'd have to find out at some point and then figure out what had made them turn into what they are now.
Zadora seemed to be thinking of something though with her hand on her head shielding her eyes from the bright sunlight and then in a matter of moments her wide smile distracting him from everything else led to him being pushed and falling backwards into the shallow section of the water. He could feel the liquid drenching his fur and seeping through it to actually sooth his skin beneath. It felt good yet Zadora had just brought upon her equal treatment. His tail moved below him outwards as Zadora looked down at his face and asked him how the water felt. "Find out for yourself." In the next instant his tail wrapped around her right ankle and pulled forwards and up lifting her off the ground and flinging her a few feet over him into the water.
She looked to the large feline man. He most be dying from the heat were she had more white in her fur keeping her slightly cooler than the full black furred man. She seemed content in his presences as they headed towards the pond. She watched him. He seemed to like being in her presences as well. She flexed her paws, causing the knuckles to crack and her claws to extend for the moment before they retracted after she was finished cracking her knuckles
She smiled watching tumble into the water as she pushed him into the water. She blinked at his words as she told her to find out for herself. More than willing to jump into the water but was giving no time to do so as she felt his tail wrap around her right ankle and was yanked forwards. Pulling her from the ground an was flung into the air over him. She yelped as her body hit the water in the more deeper end of the pond.
Surfacing with a gasp then turned to look at him. Her thick fur shielding more of the vision. Taking in a deep breath to submerge back into the water for a moment. When she surfaced again, she had her fur pushed back out of her field of vision. She stared at him hard for the longest more before she started laughing. "The water is nice but that was a fun way of going into the water." She said as she swam towards him.
Rafael had only met this feline a few minutes ago, but in that short span of time she was already without a doubt the most friendly individual that he had come across in this second life. Not to mention that she was pleasant to be around even if he was off put by the constant reminder that she was female and quite beautiful as well. He didn't have much experience if any experience at all with dealing with the emotional romantic feelings of nature and thus virtually everything that he already felt towards her he tried to push down as to not be embarrassed.
He was learning many small things about Zadora though as time went on. The thing that stood out without compare so far was the fact that she made him by comparison a snail. She was simply faster than he could have even imagined. Now as she rose from the pond water and laughed Rafael realized that she was very joyful and happy when treated fairly much the same as himself. The only other thing that he could really think of besides the fact that she didn't seem to know how to defend herself was the fact that she cracked her knuckles quite a lot.
"Glad that you like the water. We should get back on the grass though I want to show you a few things so I know that when the time comes you'll be able to defend yourself. Can't have you unable to fight back if we should be attacked." Rafael was very clear and blunt with what he meant not hiding anything from Zadora. She had seen the scars that had been inflicted across his body by the many threats in this world. If she was going to travel alongside him than the chances of her getting attacked were pretty high as well. He couldn't leave it to chance that he'd always be strong enough to handle it alone and that's why he knew he'd have to teach her at least a little right now.
She shifted around in the water, enjoying the coolness it brought keeping her cool from the blazing sun. Turning from the man in front of her to watch the water ripple at her moment. Dipping her hands down into the water with a smile. She moved to sit in the water like she had no intention of leaving it. Placing her hands in front her as she tilted her back back to look back up to him.
Forcing down at scowl as she looked up at him. Still not used to something that was much taller than her and with her sitting down in the water made it more irritating for her. He was just too tall. She turned her head to the side, hiding the pout that was slowly making its own upon her features. Staying sitting an her head to the side until she heard him move which snapped her out of her little mood to look at him, blinking.
"Of course I like the water! Swimming it the best thing people could do." She declared with a grin as she watched him. She seem to frown for the moment as he mentioning about getting out of the water for him to teach her a few things that he knows. But what if she didn't want to get out of the water just yet? Though she was excited about him teaching her stuff but she was really enjoying the water and didn't want to get out yet.
Although the heat from the light of the sun had been causing him a fair amount of stress and was actually getting to him pretty bad up until he finally got into the water Rafael was quick to get back out and onto his feet. He felt refreshed for sure and although he wasn't to keen on the fact that his fur was soaking wet and he actually felt rather heavy at the moment because of it he still had to teach Zadora at least the basics of well . . the basics.
He wasn't sure when they'd come across something that would want to hurt either of them or both of them and he would feel much more safe or perhaps he'd worry less knowing that Zadora knew at least a little bit on how to defeat herself against something that sought to cause her harm. As it stood right now based on what she said all she knew how to do was act on instinct when it came to fighting. She didn't have any sort of experience or anything which meant when up against the types of things that he had been fighting she'd most likely be killed.
She didn't seem to want to get out of the water though and he could understand why although right now wasn't really a time where relaxation was something he could do with this limitation in the forefront of his mind. "Yes swimming is fun. I've got to make sure you can defend yourself though. I've only survived this long because I know how to fight. Whatever you going to do if a human comes across us and I can't beat them by myself? I want to make sure you're not defenseless. So come on you can swim after." Rafael spoke to Zadora hoping that she would see the logic in his words and get out of the water for at least a little while, while he taught her.
She watched him get out of the water and onto his feet. Staring for the moment before tilting her head to the side. Wondering why he had gotten out of the water so quickly. Moving to lay herself in the water, simply watching him. Having no real intention of removing herself from the water so quickly as he did. When she realized that she was staring to much, she turned her head to the side.
As he spoke, she listened with her head still turned to the side before she looked back at him. A frown forming on her lips with her eyes narrowing slightly. She know the logic in his words but the water felt nice. Wanting to stay in the water but also wanted to know how to protect herself from any danger that came her way. Fighting with herself with her wants until she finally stood up.
Shaking herself quickly, ridding herself of the water that made her feel more heavy. Her fur puffed out but damp now making her much lighter. Walking out of the water to stand in front of him. Arms crossed over her chest. Well he promised after she learned the basics she could back into the water. Her frown turned into a grin as she nodded her head. "Okay Mr.Teacher. What are you gonna teach me?" She asked
Rafael was starting to realize that Zadora was more than likely more stubborn than himself and if the two of them continued to travel together he was going to more than likely have to get used to the idea of having to make up pretty much anything that he wanted her to do with undisputed logic. Right now logic was on his side and as he watched Zadora think over everything that he had been telling her he could see that she really didn't want to get out of the water, but at the same time that she understood the importance of what he needed to teach her.
So as she finally stood up and walked out of the small pond of water to right in front of him Rafael starred into her eyes as she began to speak to him. She spoke in a playfulish style that made Rafael unsure if she was actually mocking him and what he wanted to teach her or if she was teasing him about being so serious about the whole situation. Since he really couldn't tell which of the two it was or if there was even a third option that he just didn't see or understand he let it go and didn't think or act upon either.
Instead he grinned at Zadora his massive sharp teeth more than apparent as they were now revealed from behind the curtains of his black lips. "I'm going to teach you how to defend yourself from those that wish to do you harm." Rafael had been thinking over how best to teach Zadora and what type of fighting or manner of combat would suit her best despite not knowing her very well. All he had seen so far was the fact that she was much faster than him which was what Rafael knew would be best to rely on with her lack of experience making everything more difficult.
Rafael turned towards the same direction as Zadora and stepped backwards so that he was standing right beside her. In the next instant he extended his right arm outwards while his right hip moved forwards following his arm and his left leg moved backwards supporting his frame and weight. It was simply a quick straight forward jab directed forward towards an imaginary foe. "What I want you to learn first is how to throw a fast jab that can keep anyone who tries to fight you worrying. You're very fast Zadora. So when someone tries to attack you up close this is one thing you can do that'll help. So let me see you throw a jab forwards."
Seeing as though he didn't make any comment of her simple teasing words. Either he noticed her teasing him or he did and just pushed it aside which made her frown for the moment. She was expecting a sly comment or something but received none. She held off anymore teasing comments for the moment as he began to grin at her. She smirked noticing all his canines that were now showing before he started to speak about teaching her who to defend herself against others who would want to harm her.
With him right at her side, she watched him suddenly extend his hand out. Most of his body moving forwards with his arm but his left leg, which had moved backwards. Head tilted to the side, watching who his body moved in the motion. Ear twitching as he began to speak again before requesting that she repeat what he had just shown her. Her brow lifted for the moment at his request before she nodded her head.
In a quick motion, she extending her right arm forwards while, taking one step forwards with her left foot leaving her right to support her. She had tried to copy him thought she knew that he had not stepped forwards like she had but had only moved his hips forwards to follow his arm as he made his jab. She mimicked his but her claws extended from her pads as she did her jab before retracting as her hands fell back to her side.
"How was that Mr. Teacher?" She asked as she turned to face him. Her brow rose once more as she tilted her head up to look at his face, looking to his eyes. For the first time even with how many times she had looked at him, she noticed how pretty the color was but also he had no pupil which confused her. Making no remarks and keep quiet after her question. Her arms moved upwards folded them over her chest. Waiting to hear his comment of her jab. She felt like there was some flaws in her jab but he was the teacher so she will listen to her remarks on her jab.
