Himitsu was careless. He had read Kyomei’s fusion correctly but reacted to the wrong property. Oops, he thought, disappointed in his slip. But it was best to move forward. Fortunately, Kyomei turned the situation into another learning opportunity. "A skilled practitioner of Kidou should be able to nullify their own technique at any time, stopping an attack from continuing so that an unwitting passerby isn't caught in the crossfire. Demonstrate this for me, as slowly as you can. Hold a Shakkaho in your hand, again, and as slowly as you can possibly muster dismiss it into pure harmless spirit particles. Just let the technique dissolve and disappear.
The lieutenant complied. He extended his arm and pointed his palm upward, forming a normal basketball sized shakkaho. After it fully materialized, Himitsu let his authority over the flames diminish slowly. Like a dandelion undressing in the wind, the shakkaho lost little embers over a few moments until the air swept it away completely. "When you're done, we'll practice holding and dissolving two at the same time." Himitsu sat beside Kyomei, not sure if the man just wanted to get more comfortable or if the toll of using so many spells had worn him down a little. Nonetheless, he repeated the process with the Shakkaho while in his opposite hand, a ball of lightning was also extinguished. It was a bit more difficult to release two different spells simultaneously, almost like dribbling two basketballs at the same time. Nonetheless, Himitsu was capable of letting each spell go in a controlled manner.
"And the last step of Kidou fusion is to merge the two techniques while they are semi-deconstructed. You'll easily learn to do this with one hand in an instant, as if you cast the two techniques as one. But for now, I'll have you physically push the two techniques together, like so." Grinning, Himitsu eagerly mimicked Kyomei. Just as the two techniques faded into the air, Himitsu brought both his hands together to form a single beach-ball of electricity. He kept the form of Shakkaho, granting it the lightning properties of Byakurai. The Vice Captain admired his work happily before letting the technique dissipate.
"I'm afraid that's all of the actual demonstration that I'll be able to do, for now. Any questions?" Himitsu was about to express his immense gratitude before realizing that Kyomei was rubbing his arms in pain. The man was clearly tired and had put himself through a lot of discomfort for Himitsu. “Thank you very much, Kyomei. You’re an incredible person, and I’d like to make this up to you one day. Call on me if you need a hand at any time, and I’ll be there.”
The Vice Captain rose to his feet in preparation to leave. Before he walked out, he had a few more words for the Kido Corps Commander. “Oh, one last thing. You saw me do a few interesting things during the training. I empowered one of my spells by pouring some life force into it as well so that it matched the technique you sent at me in power. And that ladybug over there,” Himitsu said, motioning to his companion that began flying toward him and landed by his side. “His name is Volucris, and I summoned him using my life force as well.
“But there’s a set of techniques I’d like to share with you that have nothing to do with life force. I’ll send some documents that explain their function and how to use them. They’re a series of abilities called The Light, and hopefully, nice guys like you might benefit a bit from them. No need to keep those techniques secrete. Feel free to make those documents available to all Soul Reapers. Thank you very much, Kyomei.”
And with that, Himitsu walked through the doorway, dripped on his own feet, and fell on his face. “Ouch!” he cried, jumping back up to his feet and waving goodbye to the Kuchiki as he disappeared from sight.
