OOC: Training for CTP

Vesta had just gotten out of school. She was walking to her home, thinking about the homework that she actually needed to get done first. While on the walk home, she received a call from what she likes to call 'The Office' now. It seemed that the CEO of the company that she just started working for wanted to meet her face to face. She got a little nervous and asked the woman if she could drop off her schoolwork before heading over.

The woman agreed and just told her to hurry to the building. She ran back home and dumped all her schoolwork out on the desk quickly. Her father walked in and before he could say anything, she yelled, "Hey dad! Sorry that I'm in a rush, but I got a call from the office and the CEO wants to meet up with me. Before you ask, I don't know why he wants to see me in person, but I need to hurry and gather my things."

She ran around the house, grabbing more of her drink, which was the Immortality Drink she kept on her at all times, just in case, as well as some yogurt she could eat on the way. She was always hungry after school and yogurt was the quickest thing to eat. She packed her bag for her usual outings, putting in a new notebook, writing utensils, colored pencils, some trail mix, her camera and some light reading in case she had to wait.

Vesta did have reading homework and if she did have to wait, she might as well get the most use out of her time. She stopped for a minute and looked at her father, who just had his eyebrow quirked up at her. He just told her that she should try to get home before dinner, but he would keep a plate warm if she wasn't. She thanked him, hugged him and was heading out the door. Before she made it out all the way, he clicked his tongue.

She turned around and saw the portable charger for her phone, with the cord attached, fully charged. It was the one thing that she had forgotten to get. She threw it in her bag, hugged him again and then waved goodbye with her cell phone in her hand. She did this so that he would know that she did have her cell phone on her if he needed to call her but there were very few times that he actually called her.

Vesta pretty much called him when she went to new locations, so he knew that she got there okay. It was frequent enough that he pretty much had an outline of where she was going. But, for this, she had no idea how long she would be at the office this time, because this meeting could take a long time. She still hurried towards the office, eating her yogurt as quickly as possible while running, which didn't work too well.

By the time she had made it to the office, she had eaten half of her yogurt but now at the building, she quickly ate the rest of it. She threw it away outside before taking a deep breath to collect herself and then walk inside. It looked just like it had the first time she had been there. She walked straight towards the main desk in the foyer of the building. When she got there, the woman smiled and told her to head upstairs.

Wow, she didn't even have to say anything and they knew who she was. It was pretty awesome, to say the least. She had never been recognized by look alone in a building like this, or outside of school for that matter. It was nice. She would think about this while she walked towards the elevator. She pushed his floor and waited on the ride up. She was nervous, since he specifically called for her.

Why would he call for her? Did she do something wrong during the mission in Russia? Could Jin have said something bad about her and now CEO wants to talk to her about said thing and she was getting fired? She thought about all the horrible things while she walked out of the elevator. She walked up to his door, gulped loudly and knocked on the door. She would wait outside until she heard him let her come in. She didn't want to be rude after all.

Training for CTP

Ah, the sweet smell of extra hard work around year-end evaluations. Those new to the company were panicking and rushing to do as much as they could as they heard that Kazura has ways of finding out one's inner most failures and disappointments, while the veterans of the company knew that he rewarded good work ethic and determination. With most of the mortal evaluations done, Kazura soon turned to the spiritual employees. First up was Vesta, the Bount that Jin recommended to him. She had just recently returned from a mission with Jak and Takara that had demonstrated she was ready for a more thorough evaluation.

Kazura heard the knock on his door and could sense that it was Vesta and that she was alone, so he used his power over souls to open the door wide. "Please, come in and sit down, Vesta. It's time for your end of the year evaluation." Kazura idly flipped through the Russia report, though he already had read it more than once and didn't need to look over it again. It just gave the impression that he was invested in her work. "What do you feel is your greatest strength? We'll get this evaluation under way immediately so we can discuss your future with this company. Your sponsor speaks very highly of you, after all."

Vesta was still near the door when she saw it open by itself. It was fairly impressive. She had no idea how he did that. Did he have some kind of mechanism on the door? He told her to come in and sit for year end evaluations. She slowly walked through the door and looked around the door frame. She didn't see anything that could've opened the door so she was just a little lost as to how it happened. 

She did as she was told and saw him flip through a file. Was it the file on the only real mission she had done for the company? Was it complaints against her from Takara or Jak? She was rather curious as to what was in it. While she sat there a little awkwardly, he then asked her what she considered to be her greatest strength. She thought on that for a minute. She could take that a few ways.

It was then explained to her that he wanted to start her 'evaluation' immediately so she would know her future with the company. The last part that he said made her lose her train of though. "Your sponsor speaks very highy of you, after all." Uh......what? He spoke highly of her? She would sit there, with a look of just dumbstruck surprise on her face. She had no idea that he had actually thought of her like that.

But, she thought back on what has happened between her and Jin. He did take time out of his schedule to spend an ENTIRE day with her, just training. She didn't know if he would do that with other Bount, but maybe he didn't? If he didn't, then wow. It meant that she was special enough to warrant the special attention of the leader of her people. The LEADER! Well, it's technically only half her people, but it was the half that mattered.

After a few seconds, she would shake her head clear and think back on his question. What was her greatest strength? If Jin told him about her demon half, that would be a great strength for her. It would definitely confuse her enemies as everything about her changed. But, she had no idea if he knew about it or not. She definitely didn't want to be the first one to mention that side of herself. 

So......what would her greatest strength actually be? She thought on it then looked Kazura in the face when she answered. "I would have to say, Mister Kazura, that my greatest strength would have to be that I have Zorn. It gives me an added edge in a fight, being able to strike from two different angles and speak with him without the use of actual talking. I honestly think that's it." She would sit there and continue to think as she hoped that answer was good enough for him.

Kazura nodded at Vesta's answer and scribbled some notes down into her file. What he was writing down he didn't say out loud. "Two questions. Would you be willing to participate in a reiatsu sampling for our radar program and would you be willing to demonstrate your combat effectiveness against me in our training facility underground? You can answer either positive and negative and your answers are not allowed to effect your evaluation." Kazura was being as upfront as possible. He wanted to sample her Bount reiatsu for the radar program and wanted to test her in combat by sparring between the two of them. It was up to her though. She could refuse and the evaluation would continue via interview.

She would watch him scribble down her answer in a file, presumably it was her file. It made sense, a business this large would need files on all of its employees. She just hoped that the answer she had given him was enough. She sat, watching him write, worrying that her answer could've been wrong or she just messed up all her chances to advance in the company. Jin gave her high praise and she didn't want to let him down.

He then asked Vesta if she would participate in whatever reiatsu sampling was for some kind of radar program. Radar program? She guessed they used it to find where all of their people were at a given moment. So, this would be like GPS on her at all times? It was weird but the next question shocked her a bit. He wanted to spar with her to show what he called 'combat effectiveness.' She just stared

Vesta had no idea what the man could do. He then said that she could say no and they wouldn't effect her evaluation. She thought on it for a minute. If she did the reiatsu sampling, she would immediately be found to be different from a Bount. They would know immediately that she was half something else, if not a half demon right away. She had no idea what kind of 'samples' they already had. It freaked her out a bit.

Next, sparring with the CEO of this company would be a little out there. It reminded her of fighting Jin. She knew that the man was more than likely a lot stronger than her and had much more battle experience. But, she had learned a lot from training under Jin and this would be a great way to try out some of her new skills. Also, she felt like the man should probably know about her other half.

She had wanted to hide it from him, but if she was working for him, he deserved to know. She then thought back to Jak, the man with chains on his arm. The chains looked exactly like hers, he just didn't know he could shape them into something different. She looked down at her ring and knew what it was a symbol of, the side of her that she rarely showed to anyone.

If this man had accepted Jak into the company, another half demon like herself, it would stand to reason that he would more than likely be open to accepting another like him. She didn't know what the other half of Jak's family was, but maybe he was a fellow Bount or a different race that she didn't even know about. This job did let her explore more of a world that her father had hidden from her for most of her life.

Vesta looked the man straight in the face as she answered. "To answer your first question, I have a question of my own about it. With this 'reiatsu sampling,' does that mean your radar would be able to track me 24/7? If so, would you use it to keep track of me when I wasn't on missions or doing things for the company. If your answer to that is yes, then I would not like to be a part of it. I don't like the idea of you watching me like that.

If you would only use this radar while I'm doing work for you and business ONLY then yes, I will be apart of this reiatsu sampling that you speak of. It sounds rather.....interesting that you have a radar that works like that. As for your second question, I honestly had no idea that I would ever be asked to fight against the man I work for. But, if the spar will go like the one I had with Jin, I'm game."

Kazura shook his head. "This radar only picks up reiatsu in bursts, like when someone releases or a Hollow starts to go on a rampage. So while it could keep track of you, it would only keep track of you if you were in danger and you needed to release Zorn." While the fullbringer thought it interesting that Vesta might have someplace that she wanted to be that was a secret, he let it go. Privacy was a right in America and he'd give his employees the same right. He wouldn't want to be tracked every second of the day himself also. Vesta may notice that he didn't write anything in the file following her question.

OOC: Sorry for the short posts! Trying to get you to Rank 2 faster and there's only so much I can write about this interview... when we get into sparring training it'll be better quality posts.

Vesta listened intently on how Kazura was describing how the fancy radar actually worked. It seemed that it would only pick up huge bursts of reiatsu, like if she was to release her Doll or her demon side. So, it was a radar to let him know when his employees were in danger. She would agree to this. She would nod along with Kazura and once he answered, she said, "Very well, I will sign up for this reiatsu sampling. Also, I'm ready, Mister Kazura, for our spar. Lead the way." She would stand up at that moment.

She would wait until Kazura would move and follow him to wherever he was going to start the sparring. She really didn't think there would be anymore talking. Now, if he told her to sit so they could continue with the interview, but she was ready to go ahead to start with the sparring. Speaking wasn't really a big thing for her and she would rather get the spar over with then keep talking to the CEO.

Kazura put on a leather glove and reached into a drawer and pulled out a silver tube. "This is one of my earliest inventions, the reiatsu battery. If you'll touch the metal tip of this, it will draw a small amount of reiatsu from you that I can use to improve the radar and find when you or any Bount is in trouble. Or is being trouble for innocents. As for our spar, we'll move somewhere a bit more open so we can have space to practice." Once Vesta had touched the battery and given up some of her energy, he'd push a secret button in his desk (with soul command) that was physically inaccessible from mortal hands.

A bookshelf opened up behind him that lead to an elevator that the two could enter. IT would go down through the building, past the regular basement, and into the secret basement that only the Spiritual Department could enter with their high-clearance ID badges. The elevator opened up into a dojo that held many tools for training and exercise. Most importantly it had plenty of space and Spiritually trained medics on staff in case something went wrong. "You said that your greatest strength is Zorn. Would you like to start right off and release together or would you rather start the spar differently?"

Vesta listened to what Kazura had to say. A 'reiatsu battery'? It sounded odd, but the look of it was like an actual battery. Obviously, the CEO had talents in inventing. It was something that she would keep in mind, just in case she needed something weird made. But, to be quite honest, she was perfectly happy with everything that she has now. She was curious as to how it would draw some of her reiatsu out.

She raised her hand and extended her right index finger. It lowered down until it touched the metal tip, as she was instructed to do. Once she touched it, she felt a weird pull from her finger. I guess that's what he meant by drawing a small amount of her reiatsu out. Though, he would get a rather interesting surprise once he found out that she was more than just a normal Bount. She was something more.

Would he say anything about it? Would he get angry that she didn't tell him the ENTIRE truth about her? While she thought about things that COULD happen from what she just did, she heard something move. She looked over and saw that the bookcase moved. Well, now that was fancy. She looked at him and followed him towards the elevator. Why would he need an elevator like this? To be extra sneaky?

After following him inside the elevator, she looked around and was thinking. Now, she kind of wanted a special elevator like this one somewhere that she could easily get to. She then imagined her own secret hideout under her house. She would run in from school, tell her dad hi, then do some kind of fancy thing and reveal an elevator like this one. She would ride it down to a secret basement and then open up to all the awesome things she could think of.

While she thought of all of this, she didn't even notice what was going on around her. She wouldn't even realize she was at the location until she heard the doors open up. She shook her head clear and saw what looked like a huge training room. It was rather impressive to see. She would stand across from him and he asked her if she wanted to start out with Zorn. "Sure, let's start it off the right way.

Ziege Dich, Zorn!" She would rip off her locket and let it fall towards the ground. Once it was about a foot off the ground, Zorn would start to form, starting at his huge paws and then would end with his regal head. He would shake lightly, letting his fur air out and stand next to Vesta, staring at Kazura. His two passive techniques then activated. His fur would gain a static quality to it and a huge reiatsu lightning net would be thrown out. "Ready when you are."

The filled battery went into a sealed box for later and the elevator ride passed in complete silence. It wasn't an awkward silence due to the speed of the ride, but it was still lacking in conversation. Kazura didn't have much to say to the teenager and Vesta didn't have much to say to her boss. So they made it into the training floor of the building and the Bount's doll was activated. Immediately, Kazura scanned and analyzed, making sure to notice each effect he saw. He could see and hear the static of the tiger's fur and knew that he didn't want to come in contact with that. He could also sense the net that was filling the area but he couldn't quite figure out what it was supposed to do just yet.

"While you show me your greatest power, let me show you mine." Kazura's powers didn't have a release phrase like Vesta's, but his belt glowed before forming into his level 1 fullbring. Over his clothes appeared a burning red symbol of a bat, his trademark logo. He also gained a visor over his left eye and what appeared to be vein-like circuits over his left arm and leg that pulsed dimly. Out of his pockets emerged two metal orbs, floating as if by magic. They quickly took the form of twin Tiger claw weapons. These normally would be held like bronze knuckles, but they floated around his hand idly, ready to attack if necessary. "Show me what you can do, Vesta. But let's have fun with it as well."

When Kazura spoke of showing her his greatest power, he released. At least, that's what she thought it was, since she had never actually seen a human release their power before. It was rather interesting to watch. His belt glowed first, which was weird. Did he keep the power in his belt? It could be a container for his power like the locket was for Zorn. Still.....a glowing belt was a new one to her.

The huge red bat symbol on his clothes was another new addition that she thought odd. Did it give him bat powers? She saw the visor and the weird vein things that connected it to his body and his left limbs started to glow faintly. What the heck? When the orbs popped out of his pockets and turned into two other weapons, that was definitely different. They just hung around his hands ready to go.

So, they were there in case he needed them? Why not just wear them now? He then said to show him what she could do. She pondered what to actually do now. Should she show him ALL of her power of just her Bount power? She figured that since he asked to show her TRUE power, she should completely release. While Kazura was releasing, Zorn stalked off to his right side, the side that Zorn seemed to favor when going after someone.

He waited for her to give the go ahead to strike. She would wait another minute, taking a deep breath. She needed to mentally prepare herself for what was going to happen. She really hoped that Death wouldn't do anything TOO stupid to ruin Kazura's perception of Vesta. But, Death, by her very nature, was odd and very unpredictable. She took a breath and looked towards Zorn and nodded, letting him know she was almost ready.

"Very well, Mister Kazura. There is one thing you don't know about me yet, but you'll soon see if for yourself." She started running towards Kazura, while Zorn did the same. During the run, between one step and the next, gray mist would explode from Vesta and she wouldn't be running anymore. She would be gliding. The three Nether orbs that would appear, one would stay with her while the other two would shoot off at Kazura.

Death would smile, looking odd for her, since her makeup made her look like a Day of the Dead skull. She would reach her hand into the orb and pull out a sword. Zorn, if Kazura noticed, had also changed. He would now be pure black, with gray stripes instead of his normal color. He would growl more and act a bit more aggressive than normal. He run would towards him and then try lunging for the man's side. When Death would get close, she would try to take a swipe at him.

Vesta released a second time, a release that was not familiar to the Fullbringer. It felt dark, hellish even, as she changed forms and her tiger turned black. This was something that Kazura would love to pick her brain about later, just talking about her powers and how she felt about them, but there was no time for that right now. For now he had to focus on the spar ahead of him. His powerful brain kicked into overgear, catching sight of the orbs rushing towards him while the other became a sword. Not knowing what was going to happen if those orbs hit him or his fullbringed objects, Kazura opted for a defensive reaction.

The floating tiger claws turned into large Tower shields, one moving to block the Nether orbs and the other moving to catch the tiger's leap on its surface. Kazura stepped towards the latter shield, punching the air behind the shield, using Impact and basic Soul Manipulation to deliver a powerful force to it. Zorn would be thrown back by the force as Kazura shook out his hand that hurt after a force like that. "This is an interesting power, Vesta. Very intriguing. Come, let me study it more!"

Kazura was getting excited at the prospect of more research. It had been ages since he studied through combat with a powerful fighter. He wasn't exactly sure what allowed Vesta to have a Doll and this power, but he figured that she was very much like Jak in the dual nature that he had. Maybe she was half hell race half Bount just as Jak was half Mod Soul. Kazura remained on the defensive, not wanting to get too excited and risk missing an opportunity. However, he had left himself open to attack on his other side by lunging after Zorn.

His hand shot backwards and... did nothing. He remembered that he hadn't armed himself with his usual getup before challenging Vesta. He wasn't wearing his gauntlets with the air cannons so he couldn't respond in the way he wanted. Panicking, and not wanting to be cut in half with a Nether Sword, he stepped away with Bringer Light to dodge the swipe. Not getting away in time, he got a small cut on his side from the sword. His body immediately felt numb as he lost control of part of his body due to Vesta's Saisei Oni.

"Oof, that blade has quite the punch."

Death smiled at him as she saw that her blade hit home. Her Nether orbs immediately went back to her side and started to slightly shake in place, the surfaces ready for her to move as she sees fit. "Well, it seems that you weren't fast enough to avoid my Nether, Kazura. Pity." She would give a sarcastic sad look on her face until she went to her normal evil sneer except for this time, there was some evil glee in it.

Zorn would bounce off the shield and land on his feet, like all cats did. He would then roar loudly, hair on his spine standing on end and ready to attack again. She looked toward him and nodded. He ran off towards Kazura again, almost frothing at the mouth from the new Demon energy that was now flowing through him. His personality changed just as Vesta's did. He wouldn't even know about the change.

She hurriedly tried to figure out what to do next. She sent two of her orbs off to attack the man again, but kept one of the orbs with her. She would stick her hand into it while running at him. When she pulls it out, her hand is now covered in Nether, not harming her at all. She runs straight at him, hoping that the other two attacks are distracting him enough so she could touch him. All she needed was to touch him and she felt like that would be enough.

"I won't make the same mistake twice."

Vesta would see a half inch Aura emerge from his body, sort of appearing like his whole body was glowing a pale white. His spiritual energy then surged and the Nether orbs were pushed aside and failed to touch his body. He was using two very draining techniques, Gate and Ken, but would be untouchable. Even Vesta's physical attack would hit the aura and just be repulsed by its power. "I've seen quite enough. Your full power is frightening, Vesta. I'd like to see you hone it and make sure that you are its master rather than it mastering you."

If Death continued to keep up the attack, she would continue to meet the resistance of Ken and its intimidating aura. It was as if Kazura had become a monster that could not be harmed. It hurt him to use this power, because he didn't like to hurt his employees emotionally, but she had proven herself quite capable of dealing damage to him and he still was having trouble moving that side that she had just scratched. He had to go all out defensively and prove that he could handle her attacks. He did his best to hold back the intimidation factor that could scare away a wild animal like Zorn instantly, but he didn't know how well he could hold back but still be defensively sound.

Think about it this way. Most any human with spiritual powers should know the four basic techniques of the human world: Willpower, Output, Movement, Energy Generate. Any who fails to know these is simply a low class combatant. To be a true contender, these techniques are necessary.

Well, likewise, knowing Ken is what puts a human world dweller in the upper echelon of the human world's spiritual abilities scale. Let's explain. Martial Discipline refers to a mental or physical discipline, or both. In this case, it means disciplining one's soul. It is tempering the soul to achieve a certain effect. This is where Ken comes in. That's what this technique is. Confused? What this technique does can be located below.

Ken is the next step from Willpower, Output, Movement, and Energy Generate. Ken focuses the user's soul into an aura around their body. What this technique does is utilize the spiritual aura of its master to create a glowing field of energy around the user. The field extends a quarter inch off the skin for every 100 reiatsu strength the user possesses. What this field does is repel incoming attacks by utilizing the current physical strength of the user combined with the current reiatsu strength of the user. That's the strength of the aura. It repels them, but doesn't destroy them. It simply deflects them or blasts them away. Simultaneously, the user produces an intense feeling of intimidation which would cause even the most tempered of warriors to feel extreme fear. Wild animals will flee instantly from this aura. The aura can, if the range of the user is wide enough, actually be directed at and focused straight onto a certain target or group of targets.

How to use technique: [Insert Below]

Simply activate it at will. The reiatsu cost to activate it is 200 reiatsu per post active. The user must know all four HWD main techniques to learn this one. This is considered an extension of all four.

Technique Drawbacks (Limitations, repercussions for use, etc) (Insert Below)

The aura of intimidation can be resisted completely by the use of an opponent's Ken, regardless of user stats or class. Otherwise, if the opponent does not know Ken, then it can be resisted by those of superior class. This technique can be broken by techniques of superior class, or by opponents of superior class. It is also extremely fatiguing to use, especially in consecutive posts. The user must remain immobile when activating this technique, and cannot use any attacks, other defenses, or other spiritual abilities while Ken is active. Luckily, to those who have mastered the technique, it can be switched on and off in a split second as long as previous conditions are met. The user burns up more stamina in a single post of Ken than if they were going all out with movement the post before. Therefore, knowing and using this technique both require built up stamina.

[Stage Three: Gate]: This has no initial cost. Reiatsu strength and Spiritual pressure (but NOT Reiatsu amount) both double. From there, reiatsu output goes up, meaning that costs are also doubled for everything. On top of that, 100 reiatsu is lost per post until this is deactivated.

Death smirked as the man spoke, but would still continue her onslaught. Since the man wanted to see her full power, she intended to show it full force. She had no idea what that glow was around the man. When the Nether orb bounced off of him, not even touching him, she was annoyed. When Zorn seemed to bounce off whatever that aura was, she was more annoyed. When she tried and couldn't even touch him, she was furious.

What in the hell did he put around himself that made it repel everything that came in contact with him? She tried a few more times to touch him and felt the push back from the aura surrounding him. What the heck? She growled in frustration and stopped trying to touch him. It was obvious that she wasn't going to be getting anywhere that way. She looked towards Zorn, who was also growling in frustration from being stop twice now.

Kazura then spoke that Vesta's full power is frightening. Death smiled at the compliment. He wanted her to hone it so she mastered it? It wouldn't master her? Death just chuckled slightly after that. "There is more than just Vesta in here, Kazura. Don't forget me! Thank you for the compliment, by the way. I know that my power is frightening, but it's always good to hear it from others as well.

As for her mastering her own power, she trained with Jin, who helped her to win me over. She doesn't control me, per se, but we've come to an 'agreement' of sorts. I don't forcibly take over her body anymore and she lets me out more. Surprisingly, it's working better than I hoped. But! I'm sure you would rather talk to her than keep rambling on with me." She would then close her eyes and take a deep breath.

During that breath, he would see her form shift. Zorn would go back to his normal form, while the fog would rise around Death again. The Nether orbs would disappear and when the fog would clear, Vesta would appear again, just the way she looked before she had released her demon side. She would look up at Kazura. "Well, Mister Kazura, I hope that Death wasn't too crazy. Is there anything else that I need to do?"
