Hotaru had successfully finished a hard working day in her squad. It was getting towards sundown and it was time for her to 'close shop up' as it were, since the rest of her squad was getting settled for the evening events, coming back from eating and more than likely getting ready to drink out in one of the bars or pubs in the Seireitei. Hotaru stood up, grabbed her Captain's Haori and started to lock the door behind her.
Even though her office had a bed in it, so it could be used as a bedroom, she didn't. She knew that most Kuchiki squad members didn't stay in the barracks. They all had rooms in the Family manor and most would stay there. It was the same with her. She still had to feed her pet from Mika, Riff-Raff the strange plant cat. She still couldn't believe that he willfully gave him to her, but she was very appreciative of it.
It was nice on the nights that she had to stay in Soul Society that she had Riff-Raff. He kept her company and snuggled up in bed with her while she slept. Since this was the first time in weeks that she was spending time in Soul Society, she spent extra time at home, giving Riff-Raff all the love that had been lacking. She would have to move him to her home in the Human World eventually, since she was spending all her time there, she would just have to tell Asmoskon about him. It was the one thing he didn't know about that.
She put her Haori on and started to walk around Soul Society, heading towards the Seireitei. She got waves and bows from some as she walked through, her waving and wishing good evenings to those she passed. After getting outside of Soul Society, she was trying to figure out where to go. Since she was such good friends with Kagami, a lot of the bars that he owned would welcome her and give her discounts, almost to the point it was free.
His bars were also some of the better bars in the area. She didn't go because she knew she would get the discounts, but because of the atmosphere and the delicious drinks. She made her way towards the closest of his bars. Once she entered the establishment, she got a few glances from people, which she ignored, but the bartender on duty waved and yelled her name from behind the bar.
"Hotaru-sama! Fancy seeing you here! Not with the hubby tonight?" While he said that, she was walking closer, waving and smiling towards him. When he asked his question, she was already sitting at the bar and her first drink of choice, gin and tonic, was waiting for her. "Well Hector-san, he's out on missions, so I see no point of heading back there when I can stay around the family and enjoy some of my favorite company!"
She raised her glass at the last line she said and he raised his glass of water. They clinked and drank to company. Some of the shinigami stared at them while this was going on, while others started to whisper slightly. She guessed that some of the shinigami didn't think that a Captain could be friends with bartenders in here. She turned around slightly and glared at some of the people staring at her.
Most that were looking faced back towards their tables, while others were just staring off in different directions almost whistling, to try to show they weren't doing anything. Hotaru faced the bar again, sighed and chugged her drink. Thankfully, Hector was already making her a new drink. She nodded again towards him and started to drink a little slower. She was curious if anything else was going to happen in this bar tonight.
