It was a strange feeling that overcame Kitai. It wasn't the normal rage that he felt, pulsating in the back of his skull, thought it was still definitely there. Nor was it the pride that the 'sneaky' chose to him in an attempt to further bring the group together, that only ever tugged at his mind from time to time. No, what he felt was akin to sorrow, the one emotion he constantly tried to drown out with everything else he put himself through, in a desperate attempt to hold it back. Jack narrated, not sounding quite as smug as he normally would.
Kitai might be completely insane, but he wasn't a fool. Unless he was. By choice. 'Just quit while you're not that far behind...' Kitai growled in his mind at Jack. Kitai knew that the only reason that 'Marcus' had even bothered to get in the van was so that he could keep the group whole, like Kitai had been doing. The difference between the two, was that Marcus actually cared about the goggled-knight, very much unlike Kitai, who only insulted him every chance he got. Not that he was sorry for it in anyway.
But now Kitai had a problem. There was no way that the other fullbringer would stay with him. No, he had seemed desperate to have their older associate join them, even going to far as to flash something at him for what he assumed to be added symbolism, not that he could see what he did, only that he did it. In response, the knight all but turned his nose up at the offer and left. Kitai had been watching from the driver's seat, trying to make it look like he wasn't. He really did hate pride. But now he had a choice.
It wasn't a choice of keeping the fullbringer in shotgun, because he knew that there was a snowball's chance that he would actually stay with Kitai. No, the choice was to make the other fullbringer feel guilty about it, since he was the only one who showed any form of caring. He had debated for a moment, and if Marcus left before that moment, Kitai would just leave. If fullbringer was still there, Kitai would just tell him to go, having a much weaker smile, still looking creepy in spite of its diminished size. He really hated that punk knight.
He really didn't want the ninja to leave, but making him stay was a bad idea all around. Making him guilty over his leaving would be just as bad. He couldn't force him to stay without a fight breaking out, throwing the mission off course further than it already was, thanks to his and the knight's actions. He really didn't feel like coming up with anything for the guilt trip, but he'd like to think he was above such a petty action, even though he wasn't. So after the ninja left, Kitai would find himself driving towards the first area on the map, with only himself to keep him company.
"I'm alone again. Why do I have to be alone?" He said to himself, shaking slightly, clutching the steering wheel with more force than necessary. How he hated solitude. It gave him time to remember. Remember this things he tried so hard to forget. He was shaking violently, before Jill stepped in, feeling the pressure just as bad as Kitai. "O-KAY, time fa mistar radio! Heh, heh, heh..." Her usual laugh was strained, lackinging in everything that it normally held. The radio started playing some song that barely fought off the flood of memories that threatened to burst out. Man she hoped her energy sensing picked up something to kill soon.
