Trying to get more details about the following requirement:
Also, every individual Grunt is required to do in depth three year research into a specific topic in their spare time, and to write a long paper on it to be turned into their superiors.
Is there some more formal definition compared to "long?" I can go write a Masters' thesis if that's what you want, but it's not super clear what's wanted. Additionally, is this something that gets posted as a training thread type of thing, or is it just a requirement that doesn't allow for points being awarded?

As far as I know, that's not an actual thing, it's more of a flavor deal. That being said, I need to remember to bump down your Rank, as you should now be a "One" instead of any specific branch. Branch choice comes in at Class 4, by the new rulings. You will need to adjust your stats accordingly.

That's no big. Should I adjust my stats in current threads? Haven't hit combat yet so it wouldn't change much.
On the original topic though, if its not required, could something like that still be done as a training thread? I actually like the idea of writing a more academic feeling thing IC, but I don't know if that would qualify for a training thread or not.

By all means, you're welcome to do it like that, though if you want to make a training out of it, you may need to do more like actual experiments to write up on, etc. Just something to add substance to your "training."
