Death-Claw stalked the darkness of the streets of the small town. It wasn't Karakura town by any means, but it had it's fair share of spiritually aware humans to devour. The smallish hollow stood about seven feet tall just taller then the average human. He wore a wolf head pelt over his head and mask. His long arms made it easy to run on all fours for greater speed. He hid in the shadows though most people could not see him. He used ambush tactics to take down his prey quickly.
There was another ally directly across from him where he will devour anyone that happens to walk between the two allys. One such human foolishly did. A young woman wearing a bright yellow dress walked into his line of sight. He did not distinguish between gender, race, or age all humans were food to his eyes. She stopped when her cell phone rang and that was when he decided to strike. He was a blur to anyone who could see him, and unnoticeable to anyone who could not.
The woman screamed in surprise and panic as Death-Claw picked her up and took her into the dark ally. She flailed wildly, but that was nothing to the inhuman creature. He threw her down and pinned her to the wall sinking his teeth into her flesh and tearing it from her bones. He liked to devour his meals quickly before their screams attracted the attention of anyone else that might be in the area like a certain ex-shinigami. Blood covered his white and black mask before he made his way back into the maze of allys to wait for his next morsel.

The phrase "Have one's fingers in many pies" was a common one when dealing with organizations, but in Tsubaki's experience, no one had more involvement in a multitude of activities than Xcution did. If something occurred in the human world, there was a 90% chance Xcution was involved, or if they weren't involved they soon involved themselves. And the mysterious set of disappearances within this town fit exactly that criteria: Xcution didn't know what was happening, and they wanted that to change.
However, them sending Tsubaki didn't make total sense. In fact, she honestly didn't want to be here (at least right now, given her lack of information). Her desire to solve mysteries and puzzles was currently far outweighed by her desire to continue her research regarding Kido, and unlock the sections of her brain where the endless lists of spells that she once knew were hidden away in there. Well, technically she didn't know that for a fact, rather she suspected it, based on the memory alteration.
But, regardless, Tsubaki was here. She was currently located in a coffee shop, doing her best to act inconspicuous, and waiting for the other shoe to drop. She didn't presently sense any spiritual energy, but her energy sensory capabilities had fallen far since she had been captain. She'd be able to sense if someone decided to throw around reiatsu powerful enough to wreck the town, but not much less than that. Regardless, Tsubaki was waiting, biding her time until things occured.

Nathan was a wandering soul. He had a general motive and goal, but the world was far too big to look for one person so the child spent most of his time just wandering around. He had no reason to believe that his father was in Japan, but he didn’t have a reason to believe that he wasn’t. Therefore, why not just hop between Japanese cities in hopes of finding Shinsei. It was a lot better than sitting around and hoping that Shinsei happened to come by him. And, this way, Nathan got to have some fun in the mean time. There was a lot to see in Japan, and the young child had all the ingredients of an adventure in his Spongebob backpack: a jacket, some money, picture books, and pixie sticks.
And Nathan was pouring the contents of one of his pixie sticks into his throat as he walked down the town’s streets, not particularly minding where he was going. After all, no one could see him. As long as Nathan didn’t walk in the middle of the street, he wasn’t in any danger. He was invisible to all the regular humans that walked by him, but the child didn’t mind that. It was a fact that he had gotten used to and a fact that he could live with, walking with his glowing blue eyes point straight, making sure not to bump into anybody. Nathan knew that just a bump could make him explode, though he wasn’t exactly sure how he came across the knowledge. It was just another way that Nathan was different, or ‘special,’ as he preferred to call himself. It explained the pale skin that he had as well, paler than the skin tone of the mythical white people he had heard mention of. In the child’s small world, he hadn’t met anyone who was quite as ‘special’ as himself.

The small little town was getting oddly enough a good deal of attention from the spiritual. While all three of the spiritual entities arrived in the ton the actual towns people began to go into their homes. It would seem like nothing was wrong when in fat a good deal of the people had been able to see them. After about three minutes of silence a group of three man all wearing dark blue uniforms came down the street. There would be a man in between two other who were slightly behind him which would mark that man as the leader.
All of a sudden that man would make eye contact with all three of the spiritual individuals who had just arrived in the town. "To you who have just arrived I suggest you leave my town or else me and my men will be forced to kick you out." The man spoke loud enough that the hollow, Shinigami and small boy would all be able to hear him. It would seem even stranger though that this human was able to see them and threatened them yet why and how couldn't be explained.

Death-Claw was pleasently surprised that the humans could actually see him. That just meant that the feast would be all the more nutritious for the hollow. He smiled from under the wolf hood as he sat in the darkness readying his next strike at the foolish humans that called them out. Death-Claw was wondering who else of spiritual strength entered the town like he did. He would have to look into them before he made his way out of the town.
Death-Claw thought that there was no use in hiding since the human's could see him, but he would still make one more pass at the foolish humans. He figured one of the leaders lackeys would be a good meal in himself. He will get the others for sure, but he needed to pick off the weakest of the human's first. Eat the easiest first and enjoy the main course in the tougher opponents. That was how he liked to hunt groups. He made his way through the alleys to get in position to attempt an ambush on the three humans.
He was on the right of the three facing the right side of the leader. He was careful not to make any unessisary noise as he got ready. He picked the man closes to him to eat first. A quick and sudden attack would be enough to take him out. Death-Claw was like a shard readying its attack. He got low tensing the muscles in his body. He had all four limbs on the ground licking his teeth eagerly. The semi-humanoid hollow was ready now.
He ran out at the man as fast as his four limbs could carry him as he got close he called out to them announcing their doom. "Food should not talk!" He would then grab the man and drag him on the ground to the other side of the street and into another ally. There Death-Claw would then slam him into the wall several times before sinking his sharp teeth into the man's flash. He would tear great chunks out of the man letting his blood quench his thirst.

Tsubaki was no fool. She noticed that when she moved into the cafe, and found a seat, that people moved as if they had been capable of perceiving her. Initially, she thought that it was a coincidence, but when the coffee shop began emptying within a few minutes of her sitting down, it became clear that something was at work here. The average people of the town could see her. Why? Was it her specifically, or all spiritual entities? Obviously it had something to do with the disappearances.
She didn't have enough data to work with for the present moment, but this was important information that she tucked away. She was in the process of standing up, when she noticed three men enter the town square. The middle one looked through the glass windows, directly at Tsubaki, and spoke to her, asking that she leave the town or else she would be thrown out. Unsurprising that they were seeking to cover things up. However, his voice implied that he wasn't just speaking to her. Were there others?
And then one of the others presented itself: a Hollow, a very familiar one, launching itself at one of the three policemen. The Hollow was the one that she had spared not too long ago, and for a moment, Tsubaki felt responsible. However, for the present moment, Tsubaki was content to just observe, rather than to engage directly.

"To you who have just arrived I suggest you leave my town or else me and my men will be forced to kick you out." Nathan heard the thunderous voice and looked for its source, a group of three men standing down the street. The man was staring right at the boy, which got Nathan’s hopes up. There were people here that could see him, and that meant potential friends. Actually, everyone was a potential friend but most people the child came across were hard to befriend because… well, they can’t see him. But these new guys are different.
“Hey, Misters!” Nathan would call after them, breaking into a small jog as he began to close the gap between them. However, even through his blissful ignorance and disregard for potential danger, Nathanr realized that something was off as he began nearing the people. The people looked so official, which normally wouldn’t bother him. However, his slow, distracted mind finally processed the warning that the main shared, and he stopped his approach after only a few steps. His sapphire eyes were glowing as brightly as ever, but his furrow brow and tilted head gave away his confusion. “Wait, why do I have to leave? Can I stay for a while? I’m looking for my dad. Maybe you know him!” Nathan called enthusiastically. For reasons that he could not explain, he wasn’t willing to acknowledge how potentially dangerous this situation was. He just wanted to enjoy himself and make friends.
However, Nathan noticed another creature approaching, one with a white mask just like the white-faced bullies that he had come across before on several occasions. This spelled out trouble, and he was beginning to get scared. And the child could only watch from a distance, shock and confusion keeping him from moving as the hollow began to attack the men. Why were they fighting? Why couldn’t they just be friends? No one had to hurt anyone, and Nathan was watched the fight display before him with wide eyes as these unanswered questions ran through his head.

The three men had called out to the spiritual beings that they knew where in their town and gather them a fair warning to leave. However it seemed that these people weren't leaving. That was all the three men needed to kick them out or kill them whichever one came first. They were tired of all the people they knew being taken and they wouldn't put up with it anymore it was time to fight. That was when one of the entities spoke from the side. The man that he went for had in fact been grabbed and the hollow started to grab him though what came next wasn't part of his plan.
As the hollow drugged the man into the alley neither of the men tried to save him instead they both began to walk towards the other beings. One would walk right towards the small boy taking a few moments to reach him. "Little man you got to leave or else I'm going to have to make you. I'm sorry but right now we don't know who to trust and can't afford to take chances." The man was trying to be kind and lead the small boy away so he wouldn't get hurt.
The main man that had spoken prior had made his way over and after about a minute stood outside the window of a restaurant. The girl on the inside was obviously a spirit yet hadn't left either. "I've informed you to leave my town girl. I won't give you another warning now LEAVE!" The man was incredible serious and stern as he looked and spoke to the girl through the window.
As for the man that had been drugged into the alley by the hollow. "Smite the enemy with hollow steel." As the man spoke the incantation a silver sword materialized in his right hand. The hollow threw him up against the wall of the building but as he did that the hollow would find himself at the edge of the sword. Now it would be a battle in a tight area. The man slashed out with the sword from the left shoulder down to the right hip at the hollow.

DeathClaw was not intimidated by the man's sword. He new such incantations to be those of a Quincy. That would explain how they were able to see and sense him. He would make for good eating. DeathClaw smiled from under his wolf hood as the man pointed his blade at the Hollow. He didn't even seem to be swinging it just holding it there as if trying to threaten him. The Quincy just wasted his chance. The hollow would make quick work of its foe.
When the Quincy finally started his attack, DeathClaw was already on the move to neutralize the thread of the sword. DeathClaw would grab the man's arm right below the handle of the blade as fast as he could. He would use it to pin the Quincy in place as the hollow slammed his knee hard into the man's ribs. He knew form experiance that Quincys were not usually good with close range combat. It was a good thing they were in such a small area.
DeathClaw didn't think that he would even need to make himself a weapon. Just his pure strength would be enough to finish the Quincy. As the Quincy's sword arm is pinned to the wall and was most likely stunned by the knee to the gut, DeathClaw would take the chance to go in for a bite. He would bite at the man's shoulder right where it meets the neck. As his teeth would sink into his soft skin, he would yank hard with his head tearing a large chunk of flesh from the man. He wanted to enjoy his meal and eat it slowly.

Idly, Tsubaki glanced out the window to observe the Hollow's attack on one of the constables. The constable had begun to materialize a weapon of some sort, after a brief incantation, which lead Tsubaki to believe that they were not average humans. However, the clearly weren't Fullbringers either, given that the sword looked nothing like a Fullbring, and Fullbrings didn't require incantation anyways. Logically speaking, perhaps they were some type of Quincy?
Tsubaki's database of knowledge had been almost wiped clean when she had been sent to prison, but Quincy honestly seemed like the safest bet. These wouldn't be Vandenreich, however, not the way they acted or dressed. A settlement of Free Quincy? That seemed utterly preposterous. She needed more information, and she needed it now. One of the other men started to wander over to a small boy that was still located in the town square, despite it being all but empty.
Was the child a spiritual entity? That seemed like the only possibility, but utterly bizarre. And the man appeared to be attempting to strong arm the child into leaving. Tsubaki didn't particularly care, although his voice was fairly abrasive, even at this distance. And the final constable, the one that appeared to be the leader, was now walking over to Tsubaki. He stood outside of her window, and barked at her, telling her to leave this instant. His voice was loud, and sent pain coursing through Tsubaki's head.
"Please. Please be quiet. Your voice is unpleasant to hear." She spoke calmly, controlling herself as best she could. If this man continued to be noisy, she couldn't be held responsible for what happened next. "If you need me to leave your town, I will. However, I've been instructed to solve the mystery regarding the disappearance of numerous people from this area. My assistance would likely help you a great deal, if you'd be willing to take it."

"Little man you got to leave or else I'm going to have to make you. I'm sorry but right now we don't know who to trust and can't afford to take chances." Nathan obviously didn’t understand, and his confused expression only intensified. Nathan only understood three things from what the stranger said to him. He was going to be forced to leave, the man was scared, and he was sorry. The list was ordered from least important to most in Nathan’s eyes. If the man was sorry, then he was a nice guy and he was Nathan’s friend! But if he was scared, then Nathan would have to help his friend. The last part had no value in Nathan’s eyes and he just ignored it.
“My name is Nathan Tan’O, and I want to help you. What’s your name, Mister?” Nathan was a little ball of pure, incorruptible innocence. Nothing the man could say would convince Nathan to turn away and leave him. The child’s abnormally pale skin and glowing eyes may set him apart from everyone else, but he somehow managed to only see the best in everyone he met. This situation was no different. “Tell me what I have to make things better.”
