Hotaru Kuchiki made her way through the spiritual gates again. This time, Soul Society was sending her to Moscow, Russia. She was told to dress warmly, so she was wearing her uniform but over that, she wore a nice, fluffy winter coat and wore boots. She didn't want to risk anything, so she also grabbed some mittens for her hands and a nice big scarf to cover her face from the cold. She stepped out from the gates and stood on the roof. If she hadn't worn those boots, she probably would've slipped on the ice.
She looked out and could tell they put her out on the outskirts of the city Moscow. It's the capital of the country, Russia, another place she had never been to before. There was colder weather back when she was alive in Japan, but nothing like this frigid temperature. It was so cold, she could actually feel some of it through her layers of clothing. She didn't even know the details of her mission. They told her once she got to the Human World, they would call her with details.
Right when she started thinking about it, her cell phone rings. She picks up quickly and answers, "Kuchiki, Hotaru here." They proceeded to then tell her the details about her mission. There was a huge sighting of hollows in the area, but they all mysteriously vanished, pretty much all at once. She was then told that there was only one reiatsu signature found, a human one. She could only think of one human that she had met a little bit ago that could actually kill a huge quantity of hollow like that.
Soul Society wanted her to try to find out who this human was and make sure that it was the human or if it was some rogue spiritual being that they didn't know about. She agreed and then hung up the phone. She knew it had to be that one man she met by that moonlit lake those months ago. She wondered what he would be doing here, probably on another job. He seemed to be married to his work. She then started the long task of trying to find him in the huge city. She sighed, thinking it's times like this that she wished she could sense reiatsu better.
She started off in the city, just on the off chance that he would be in the city. After about an hour, exploring most of the city, and making mental notes of this city's 'monuments' to maybe ask him about, she left the city proper. She started to work her way through the outskirts of the city, where she was left by the gates. She searched through the outskirts and she wasn't able to find him there either. Well, she thought to herself, she found him in the woods, maybe he went back to a wooded area.
She walked out a little bit and found a nearby forest. She didn't know if this area would be booby-trapped or not. She knew that this man was extremely powerful and not to be messed with, but he might take precautions. She started to slowly make her way through the forest. She tried her best to sense his area. Once she found it though, she could feel it easily. Once it hit her, she Shunpoed to his area. She stopped right outside the tree line and slowly walked out to where he was. "Hello again. I didn't know if I would get to meet you again or not. Soul Society sent me to check out a massive hollow disappearance with only a human signature left behind. Was that you?"
