(OOC: Vita Sollertia is the name that has been agreed on for the branch of Rogue techniques that spend Life Force for effects)
Technique Name: Vita Sollertia: Composite Kido
Class: 1
Technique Type (Kido, Hollow/Arrancar Technique, Human World Dweller Technique, Other): Rogue Technique
Usable By (Technique is available to which races?): Rogues
Technique Element: None
Technique Description and Effects (Explain appearance, powers, and effect):
Composite Kido is the pinnacle of extensive Kido research, using notes that Tatsuya had accumulated dating all the way back to his Squad 12 days, as well as the further research he did while Captain of Squad 5, including his attempts at replicating Zero Division kido. During his time at Soul Society, the fruits of his research were never realized, but that was because they were missing a crucial element: the very essence of life. Since becoming a Rogue, and playing with his new found ability to tap directly into his own life force, he has slowly begun to develop techniques that make him a much, much, much more dangerous Kido user.
Composite Kido has little to no subtlety, and offers nothing more than raw firepower. By burning his own Life Force and reitsu, Tatsuya can combine multiple Kido into one glorious attack. Unlike Kido Fusion, Composite Kido cannot mix and match features of individual Kido, and in fact gets significantly bogged down by putting together different Kido, in the same way that too many different flavors can ruin a well prepared meal. Nonetheless, it is an incredibly potent technique, and the effects aren’t too complicated. Composite Kido’s method for determining the usability of the amalgamation is similar to Kido Fusion's, but not identical. First off, Class 1 AND Class 0 techniques are unusable. Additionally there is no additional points gained for being a Technique Master (although there still is for Mastering the technique). The charts are as follows:
Class 7 Technique: 1 Point
Class 6 Technique: 2 Points
Class 5 Technique: 3 Points
Class 4 Technique: 4 Points
Class 3 Technique: 5 Points
Class 2 Technique: 6 points
Class 1 Technique: Cannot be fused
Class 0 Technique: Cannot be fused
Class 7 Character: 2 Point
Class 6 Character: 3 Points
Class 5 Character: 4 Points
Class 4 Character: 5 Points
Class 3 Character: 6 Points
Class 2 Character: 7 points
Class 1 Character: 8 points
Class 0 Character: 8 points
(+1 for mastering the Technique)
Composite Kido’s method of fusing Kido is slightly stranger. All the effects are added together, more or less, and the form is whichever Kido is largest. Mixing together multiple Kido this way, however, is significantly more difficult. Every Kido beyond the first costs an additional point, stacking with each Kido (the second Kido added would cost +1, third +2, etc). The Kido is fired normally, based on the form, but when it hits an enemy, things get interesting. The Kido all hit the person with combined force in that one spot, although the force caps out at 3x offensive strength, of course. This counts as a Short Term Stat Boost.
There is, however, a secondary effect. Composite Kido can also be used to increase the Class of a technique fired this way. The Class of the base technique is equivalent to the highest Class amongst the techniques combined. If there are leftover points, however, during the fusion, they can be spent to increase the Class of the Composite Kido. Two points can be expended to increase the Class of the resulting force by one Class. This focusing also reduces the size of the technique, reducing it to half size per Class increased.
How to use technique (How is it activated?): Focus and cast Kido normally.
Technique Drawbacks (Limitations, repercussions for use, etc)
This techniques limits are well established, such as what can be mixed, what amount can be mixed, and it cannot incorporate Class 1 Kido, a sizable loss. Another crucial factor is the cost. In addition to the cost of all of the Kido’s combined, which isn’t to be underestimated, this technique also expends Life Force equal to twice the Composite Kido’s cost, and thus extensive use can and will cause serious consequences. Additionally, this technique is specifically physically taxing, and consistently using up all the points available will increase this effect significantly. Finally, it requires a 4 in Kido and at least a 2 in Mental Incantation.
